It's interesting how similar Fear The Spotlight is to Silent Hill 4:

The two protagonists are unexpectedly pulled through into an alternate version of an area familiar to them by the antagonist who becomes fixated on one of the main characters for his own warped desires

The other version of said familiar location was created after the initial death of the main antagonist before his return as a monster. The place is also haunted by his victims from the inciting incident that is the game's backstory

The final confrontation occurs in the location of the antagonists death with the protagonist's companion being trapped abo where it takes place in

Other Silent Hill references present in Fear The Spotlight:

The display case in the school's library contains the iconic pocket radio alongside the Book of Lost Memories as an actual physical tome

Vivian is forced to squeeze through a gap in the rundown 1991 library wall much like James does during the Historical Society segment of Silent Hill 2.

The two main characters escape a collapsing location towards a glowing white portal much like Harry does with a newborn Heather at the very end of Silent Hill 1

Fear the Spotlight launches October 22 - Gematsu

Horror puzzle action game Fear the Spotlight will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam on October 22, publisher Blumhouse Games and developer Cozy Game Pals announced.

So is there a fandom for Fear the Spotlight yet? I am literally in love with this game. The characters are well fleshed out and their relationships with each other feel so meaningful and well thought out. Plus thr actual story and lore of the game are really intresting and also I love a good Silent Hill reference. My take away from this post is Let's Go Lesbians!!

Halloween is almost upon us! And so are SPOOKY GAMES!!

Everyone come watch as I draw a couple of characters from some indie horror games I have enjoyed this year!

I have an insane amount of deja vu/Mandela effect for the indie horror game "Fear the Spotlight."

Specifically, because, I vividly remember watching a PS1-style indie horror game where the protagonist treks through the corridors of an unreality, burning school with bookshelves and whatnot while she has to avoid the beam of a creature with a spotlight head.

The problem is, this game didn't release until October 2024, and I remember watching the playthrough, like, about a year ago or longer. I think a demo was available to play around that time, but idk. All I know is, while watching Gab Smolders's playthrough, I was just completely shocked that this game just came out because I remembered it so clearly.

I've tried going through my YouTube History and my Google Account Activity History, and I can't find any mention of this game until October 2024. I'm a pretty big weeny, so I rarely watch horror game playthroughs. Therefore, the only "horror gamers" I watch are Gab Smolders and ManlyBadassHero, with the occasional Jacksepticeye and Markiplier video thrown in. Of the four of them, only Gab has played this game, and she did so after it came out in October 2024.

I feel like I'm losing my marbles because I remember watching this game way sooner, but Google has zero evidence of me doing so. I have no idea what's going on.
