Since I was tagged by a fellow Dusk fan I'm gonna list my fdtd wips all of which are sethkate. Some serious. Some complete crack. Most of these do not have titles yet

Raccoon Amaru - Canon divergent post season 2. With Kate surviving the blood well and Seth bringing her back to Jeds from the hospital to recover, Amaru finds herself in a different vessel.

La Jefe - Canon divergent post season 2 episode 9. At the blood well Kate stays up on the hill with Richie. It’s only after he’s gone down to try to take the blood for himself, in a move that is peak dumbass, that Kate has to intervene. With Richie wounded by a Xiblaban weapon and lying useless in the backseat of the car it’s up to Kate to deliver the blood and unwittingly become the new La Jefe, the head of Malvado’s empire. Seth lives his best life as a sugar baby and Richie is crying in a corner because he's supposed to be the boss.

Wild West AU - Wild West likely with supernatural elements. Kate frees Seth from the jail in Bethel the night before he's set to hang in exchange for him helping her track down her brother who disappeared with Carlos six months earlier. (Also the memorial piece for my mare, Bandit, who passed away almost a year ago and will be written in as Seth's horse.)

SethKate Wedding Date AU - Modern Day. No culebras. Kate is invited to her cousin's wedding and decides to ask Seth to be her date

“He’s not just my date, Scott.” A maniacal grin spreads over Kate’s face. “He’s my weapon. You really think I’m gonna walk in there with all their passive aggressive, pretending to be concerned comments? No, Scott. I’m going to fight fire with fire.” “That’s not fighting fire with fire Kate. That’s fighting fire with a nuclear warhead!”

Shangri-La - Canon divergent post season 2. With Eddie in critical condition and his chances of survival slim, the Geckos chose to go through with the plan to rob Malvado, even managing to save Kate’s life in the process. After coming back from their meeting with the lords, their relief at the news of Eddie’s survival is soon eclipsed by the sheer panic of realizing they now have to explain to him that not only did they pull his Shangri-La, swan song job without him, but they also lost the money.

Hero Twins AU - Canon divergent post season 2 episode 2. Kate reveals to Seth that she's pregnant during their fight in the car. After Sonja gets Seth clean, and with Eddie's help they hide away from the culebra world. 7 years later Richie and Kisa come crashing in with the news that their daughters are the next set of Hero Twins, destined to shake up the culebra and Xibalban hierarchy.

This leans very heavily into Mayan mythology, including a bibliography of academic sources, that will be included. It could be considered an exploration of the hero twin archetype told through Seth and Kate's fictional twins.

Witch AU - Modern day with supernatural elements. No culebras. Kate comes from a line of witches cursed to die when they begin to manifest their magical abilities. When she starts to have visions of her own death she goes to a professor of the occult Richard Gecko to try to figure out why her family keeps dying young. A witch himself, he tries to help her figure out the curse along with Seth who has turned his back on his supernatural abilities. It's a race against the clock to see if they can save Kate before her visions of her death come true.

Selkie AU - Coming home from college to attend her mother's funeral, Kate finds a package Jenny had left her. Kate's seal skin and an explanation of what she is. After going out to learn more about who she is her skin is stolen and she has to rely on the owner of a nearby bar, Seth Gecko, and his friends to steal back her skin.

Back on Bridgerton-based AUs with my OTPs from other fandoms; Seth and Kate!

It took me a minute to see it, but Simon and Daphane! I think what tripped me up is the Gecko's don't strike me as "of the ton" type but if I completely nix the whole wanted criminal aspect all together (except possibly now and again for the thrill?) then they fit.

Seth and Simon are surprisingly similar, in no small part because Daddy Issues.

Seth has decided he will never marry and pass on the family name to spite his old man. If the Gecko name is going to go on, than it'll be through Richie, whom dear old dad always claimed was a bastard anyways, so double whammy. It's probably not true, although Seth wouldn't blame his mom for sleeping around on her drunken, abusive, sad excuse of a husband, and Seth looks nothing like the former Lord Gecko himself (and quite a bit like one of the old stable masters,) but its the principal of the thing. Seth also had one disastrous marriage to a commoner, which was dissolved before the ink dried, because while they slept together plenty before and after getting married they didn't actually share a bed during the extremely short time they were legally bound. It was really more of an f-you to his father mixed with the thrill of the chase, but either way, Seth's sworn off the whole marriage and kids thing. But his reputation only does so much against a handsome pedigy and a promise of a wealthy life, and he's getting increasingly tired of the ton's mothers throwing their daughters at him. Or even the occasional daughter's dirty tricks to catch herself a husband.

Its Kate's debut season. (Side note: I don't know enough about titles and such outside of novels set in those times, but I see Jacob as a Vicar. I think that would make Kate eligible for the ton...at the very least she would be considered the daughter of a gentleman.) Kate is lovely and polite and well-bred, but her friendly nature and girl-next-door vibes have left her seen by most of the ton's eligible bachelors as just a friend. It's not that she doesn't have any suitors, but the ones who see her as more than just a friend or little sister type are rather... mature (Lord Oculto), inappropriate (Lord Madrigal's blatant offer to make her his mistress coupled with a scathing insult to her lower station and Lord Brasa's downright creepy comparisons of her to his dead wife Amaru), or the gentleman's reputation proceeds him (everyone knows Lord Malvado lusts after Lady Kisa and is prone violent tempers and ungentlemanly actions towards women, and Lord Tanner has made it clear he only likes the barely of age girls and sees no reason to honor his vows, plus he's a horrible gambler and there's a certain question to his remaining funds.) Her childhood friend Kyle has made his offer to her clear, and if the worst should happen she will consider him, but what she wants above all else is options.

It doesn't take long for her and Seth come to an agreement; he will be seen courting her, thus making her appear more eligible to the younger men of the ton, and he will get a reprieve from the meddling match-making mothers for one damn season! Possibly two if he can nurse the broken heart look the following year.

I'm 100% skipping the whole consent-issue, baby making bit and leaving all the drama in the "pretend courtship starts to seem all to real" mixed with her father not exactly approving of Seth due to his crass language that he didn't bother to hide when he fist called on her and his rather tarnished reputation. Things still grow complicated though, when Seth and Kate do finally confess to the other that there are real feelings behind their actions, stumbling through the "what to do now," Seth having a rather drunken conversation with Richie about the vow he made to their father followed by Richard's oh so helpful "if you don't marry her I will" with a pointed look. Richie is perfectly happy living in sin with his own lover, so he probably wouldn't go through with it.... then again, he can be an annoyingly stubborn little shit, and Seth decides he can't risk it. Now to win over her father.

Kate may threaten to be caught in a compromising position with Seth if Jacob doesn't budge.

YES, TOTALLY YES!!! I mean I already had like a qotd au thing going on with Kate as the Jesse type and Seth as a vamp, BUT Kate as a high schooler by day and vampire slayer at night, Freddie as her watcher (at least fulfilling a role in this au instead of him refusing his peacekeeper role and then being a complete mess in canon), Seth as a vampire that Kate falls for, Scott part of the Scooby gang (either the Xander or Oz type?), Kalinda as the Willow type and Jessica as the Cordy type... Oh no. I think I might've created a monster idea here 😂

FDTD fic: one step forward (SethKate)

Oh hey, it's me, with a new fic. Surprise!

I’ve been trying to write any one of my 8 million WIPs since I got back from camp but the words just were not working, and then I got to thinking about the Kalinda section of ‘you squeeze my hand three times’ and maybe doing like an AU of that from Seth and Kate’s POV but that wouldn’t really work, so I decided to start writing and let the characters decide where they wanted to go. Which apparently was here.

Of course, it took me like a week to get these two assholes in bed and start making out so I could wrap this thing up, because they just.kept.talking.

one step forward (complete) word count: 4,877 summary:

They’re exhausted and more than a little traumatized, but at this point, at least they’re alive and they’re safe. They can deal with the rest later. Kate and Seth, two soldiers finally home from the war.

OPEN TO : f / m / nb PROMPT : rodolphus (a married man) and his younger brother rabastan (not married) have both taken a liking to the same toy. rodolphus has come up with a solution. this can be hp setting (first war) or an au of some sort! if you'd like a fdtd deal like seth x kate x richie, i'm down for that!

“Typically, I'm not a fan of mess.” Unlike his younger brother, Rodolphus abhors chaos. He is a meticulous creature with a method to his madness — to his cruelty, as the papers liked to say. As if to emphasize the point, he pulls a handkerchief from his suit pocket to rub over his hands. The action is also soothing. "That being said, I also like to consider myself a doting sort of brother." His gaze briefly flicks towards the younger male untying their restraints. "And it would appear that we're both rather taken with the idea of having you to ourselves."

Rabastan can't help but snort at the elder's words. That was putting it lightly. "Hope you like dick, sweetheart." He yanks the rope fully away, tossing it to the side for later use. "You're getting the two-for-one special." Fingers tangle in their hair, pulling them up by the scalp. "You know what they say: Sharing is caring."

Rodolphus laughs. "Indeed."

3: Do you anticipate writing for a new fandom this year? Which one? I'm not exactly planning to write for any new fandoms yet... I still have so many sethkate fics to finish. 🤦‍♀️ But if I can ever figure out how to write a western, I might write something for "The English" because Eli and Cornelia deserve a happy ending. 😤

5: Which WIP is first on your list to complete this year? Will you post a snippet? Working on a secret project right now, so I can't post any snippets, but I hope to be able to share it soon!

13: Aside from fanfic, are there any other fan works you’d like to try creating? Fanart, or fanvids, gifsets, or podfic? I'm working on a sethkate/fdtd au photo edit right now! It’s an edit I’ve wanted to make for literal years now. I haven't actually made that many moodboard style edits, but I'm really excited by how it's turning out! I'd like to do more gifsets eventually though. I have a couple ideas for "The English" too.

Also I am experiencing and fanaissence for FDTD and my years-old WIPs and THAT REBLOG WITH THE TAGS ABOUT RICHIE SEEING SETH AND KATE TOGETHER IN THE FUTURE LIKE WOW. How have I never seen a fic with this premise. How is this not the default vehicle for 1000 soulmates AUs!!! Anyway sorry but we are friends now and I am going to go hunt down your fic on AO3 ✨

Hello! I'm so happy you like my Barbie memes. It's really all @lilmissuncreative's fault. She sent me a discord message "I'm sure you've seen the barbie movie meme going around, and I want someone to do it for fdtd!!!!" and I happen to have Gimp and it just snowballed from there. Wound up grabbing images and going in and erasing the background manually before realizing that the Barbie Movie's meme generator did that automatically LOL. So the tags about Richie seeing Seth and Kate together in the future actually turned into my second fdtd fic on Ao3, it is PURE CRACK. But I love it lmao. I'm so happy to have a new fdtd friend! And so far I only have 2 fdtd fics up on Ao3, but I've got a few more wips that have like over 10k written but I just haven't gotten the first chapters completely finished, or figured out where I want to make that first chapter break. Including a new post season 3 crack fic where Richie gets a brilliant idea that causes Seth great anguish, and manages to be everyone else's main source of entertainment for the week, that although I came up with the initial idea, has been fueled by lilmissuncreative as well.

And I just want to say that Burn my Bridges is one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SethKate series on Ao3. I bookmarked it and still go back to reread because I love it so much! If these memes have sparked even the slightest potential of getting more SethKate content from you I am vibrating with excitement! You are very much one of the authors I look up to!

They all remember her before, when she was Santanico and arguably Dad's favorite tool for keeping the rest of them in line. But Kate sometimes thinks of the child named Number Three, the other girl in Kate's odd little family, who loved pink things and cried when Richie and Scott knocked over anthills. Before Mom started calling her Santanico and Dad turned her into a tool to keep the rest of them in line.

“You’re in love with her.”

“Yeah.”

Scott’s brows draw together at the lack of infliction in that simple answer.

“But you guys broke up,” he adds, unable to let this go now that he’s started. “You break up a lot.”

Freddie just shrugs, not even looking up from his research; he’s hoping to take the detective’s exam next year and has thrown himself into mastering the material as thoroughly as he can beforehand.

“Do you dream of her?” he asks, curious and almost demanding, and for one brief moment he thinks he’s gone too far, sees the tightening of Freddie’s shoulders and hears the sudden harsh edge against the keyboard.

“I dream of everybody.” He doesn’t sound as tired when he says it these days, not like when they were kids and Dad would make him recount every moment as soon as he woke up, afraid he’d forget something in the extra bit of time it’d take him to write it down himself. He’d have burrowed into Freddie’s head if he could, Scott thinks. Bastard probably tried to. he smiles ruefully before adding, “except Seth.”

Scott rolls his eyes, leaning forward to rest his elbows against his bent knees and loosely lacing his fingers together.

"Yeah, but is that why you guys keep breaking up? Because of what you see."
