Connection Description:

Your character would be the Deputy Sheriff who worked under and hated the previous Sheriff, Lorelai Cavanaugh, who they viewed to be incredibly corrupt, but no one in the department seemed to take them seriously when they attempted to voice these concerns.

The previous Sheriff was Lorelai Cavanaugh, the Catalyst and previous coven advisor whose real name is River Cassidy, but she was parading around as "Lorelai", tampering with evidence and crime scenes to prevent anyone from catching on to her plans as she concocted her revenge upon the town.

After Lorelai was revealed to be the Catalyst, your character worked as the acting Sheriff until the new Sheriff could be appointed to town (the new Sheriff is an NPC by the name of Adonis Ridgeport).

Your character is morally good. They want to reform the law enforcement department and protect the citizens of this town. They are by the book and are a law abiding citizen, who airs more closely to the side of pacifism, who tries to avoid/deescalate violent situations.

They are human and are a member of the Human Coalition. Could even teach Coalition self-defense classes and want humans to be able to protect themselves as much as possible.

They support the Council and want to work with the Council to put a stop to the threats on the town. They believe all species should be treated equally and aren't prejudice/afraid when it comes to the different species.

They are well aware that some people in town will be wary of them for stepping into this position and feel a strong obligation to turn the Sheriff's department around.

They also are in charge of the tip line at the Sheriff department having to field a number of prank calls in an attempt to get to the truth.

she appears as though she was born fifty-four years ago but is actually three hundred and seventy-four, who is a vampire and lives in acacia heights as a retired lawyer, and is an advisor to the sanguine liguria coterie. she looks an awful lot like lucy liu.

Born to a concubine mother, Xihe was mostly ignored by her father who was a nobleman at the time. She was one of the many daughters who would either be married off for politics or be accepted as another concubine for the emperor. Her days were spent in lessons with her siblings, mostly the girls who were kept in groups for their needlework, poetry, and music. Although Xihe had excelled in the arts and were as competent as her siblings, she did not find much interest in them.

Often times, the little girl would find herself at the desk of one of the scholars that lived in her father's estate. She had referred to the man fondly as Da Ji (Uncle Ji). Kept in secrecy, Xihe was allowed to learn topics on math and politics. It was to be kept hush as they did not want the disapproval of the lord reigning on the young girl. At the tender age of thirteen, Xihe was already betrothed to a man whom her father pronounced as a perfect match. At the time, Xihe had no idea of what this arrangement would mean to her father, all that she knew was that she had made him happy with it.

Instructed to learn to become a good wife until she would come of age, she had spent enough time with her mother and Da Ji. However, trouble brewed when she had reached sixteen and the scandalous murmurs of the other concubines tried to poison her path. Many of them did not think that Xihe was the right girl to be wed to the Zhao Ruqi war lord, why did the husband think she would be a perfect match when they all knew her patronage was of question. 

Betrayed, she confronted her mother who swore she was of virtue. Even when Xihe herself felt that she already knew who her father might have been, something akin knowing her own blood.

By the age of 19, Xihe had gained the title of Wife and Madam of the Ruqi estate. Although her status had afforded her many privileges and freedom in life, she did not like to be confined under a husband. Early into their marriage, she had encouraged her husband to get as many concubines as he could where she had eventually found lovers with them in secrecy.

At the age of 25 Xihe had three children and four other babies from the concubines of her husband. She did not care much for children, often let the concubines and wet nurses handle them. She loved them, but felt no strong attachment or motherly instinct towards her offspring.

Her birth into the blood had come due to a small act of kindness she had bestowed unto a concubine of one of her husband's son. A poor girl who was mistreated badly, enslaved and used. She was a beautiful thing and Xihe hated for beautiful things to be ruined. She kept the girl warm, fed, and given an ounce of respect. Never would she have thought that the small things she did would spare her.

Beautiful things are fragile, especially when torn down by its environment. The girl had spared her from the blood bath revenge, naming Xihe the closest thing to a mother she could have ever had (even when it was not Xihe's intention). Knowing that neither of them would be spared by the people if the relationship came to light, Xihe had helped her escape into a foreign country.

The news of her family's slaughter had gained Xihe both sympathy and loss of power. Yes, she was now the sole inheritor of her husband's estate and riches, but without a man by her side her status as a woman was diminished and left to dust. Often times, she would be visited by distant relatives of her husband to claim the Ruqi fortune.

After nearly fifteen years of living in the same city, suspicion had begun to arose. Nobody had seen the Widowed Ruqi mistress outside of her home, servants were carefully selected with hush money to keep them loyal to the madam. People would see young men and women coming into her home and never going out again.

Demon was the first word that spread around.

Xihe was no widow, but a demon, who sold her entire clan to become what she was now. She had the riches, she had the time, and she most certainly did not mingle with the other nobility as she had done before. Her servants were one by one taken, tortured to confess, but not one had a whisper of evil to say about her. Not only was she a good madam to them, but the hefty price she had given to her servants was enough to last them their lifetimes.

Besides, what crime could they point to her when there were no bodies of evidence?

One day, loyal lips came to her ears about a witch who could help her escape with a new identity. Intrigued by the offer, Xihe had herself endeavored her first time into the supernatural world. A spell to cast her back into the light, a way path away from the prying eyes of the town, and lastly, a new identity all for a price.

The price, Xihe had to admit, was nothing but a coin in her purse. Before her husband had died, Xihe had already managed most of the finance and years on her own had proven that she was the master of the house and nobody else.

She took the chance and came upon her next country which was India. Her group of female servants had accompanied her, only the loyalest and the ones who had entrusted their life to her. In India she was met with a coven of witches, all helping for a price, there was always a price with them.

She had the lovely home, new status, and connections to the British colony that had their own grips in the country. English was easy to adapt with her new preternatural state, the accent flowing easily to her tongue that she could have been a native. In her new found environment had she studied the law and politics again, it was easier to get away with it when there was no husband to stop her from her wants. Her lady-maids were educated and given a better life than they could have had in China, something that Xihe took pride in.

Men always found a way to try and demean her into a second-class citizen, but Xihe had found that beating them at their own game of logic was much entertaining. She was whip smart, charming, and had the etiquette of nobility even if it was from a different country. From the British she had joined them in their voyages, leaving her lady maids for months to nearly 2 years away in adventure. She traveled to new countries as she became one of the newest sponsors of their ships.

Expanding her skills in business, she had eventually become a traveling merchant in her time. But the good times did not last, 20 years into her journey and once again people have become suspicious. This time though, Xihe had come in prepared, with new papers at hand and the time to lay roots in the countries she had visited, she had paid another price to the witches as she and her lady-maids had boarded to Romania this time.

The cold weather had reminded her of home and the grounds she had prepared were ready for a new chapter in her life. Life in Europe had afforded her many opportunities, the languages as for one, was something she was ecstatic on learning about. She had avoided the British isle at this lifetime and directed her interest in the Slavic regions on the continent. Until another few years had passed and she had set foot in the African countries until, she had grown bored having to move from one place to another, leaving former homes in tatters or to lay waste with time.

She had complained of such the connection of supernatural acquaintances that she had gained over the years. One hearing of complaint and introducing her to Greywood.

It's a subtle power, but animal had become rather "fond" of Charlie. She cannot communicate with them, but they seem to understand and would at times be willing to do her bidding. It's still a trust with give and take relationship, but they would often come to her.

Connection Description:

After the murder of the former Coalition Leader on July 4, 2022, the Coalition held an election for leader, with Benjamin Anak Bandi winning the election and becoming the Human Coalition’s new leader. Your character would become Ben’s advisor not soon after.

The two of you have been Coalition members together for well over a decade now. Perhaps you’ve always living in Lunar Cove, or perhaps you arrived shortly before Ben (he’s been in town for over fifteen years) 

You and Ben are either peers of around the same age, or your character is a bit older, but totally down for workshopping how you believe their relationship might have developed. Ben himself is a pretty amicable guy, so, at least on his end, there wouldn’t be any bad blood.

Speaking of Ben’s amicable personality, it might be interesting if your character has a bit more steel. Ben’s no pushover, but he also tries to find solutions that lead to the least amount of bloodshed possible, and he’s heavily concerned with minimizing the loss of life. He’s not fond of dishing out strenuous punishments, and he tends to ere on the side of teaching lessons as opposed to serious reprimanding. Your character could possibly be the one that proposes the hard solutions that Ben doesn’t want to consider.

On a slightly different note, with the increase of hunters and Lunar Cove being the only supernatural safe haven left in the entire world, your character could be increasingly concerned about human/supernatural relations, particularly if they might start turning sour in the town. Also, with this increase in population, there’s also an increase in supernaturals unaffiliated with their specific species groups. How are we feeling about that? Annoyed about the extra paperwork? All of these are things to consider!

Just as Ben was elected to the position of Council Leader, your character was also elected to the role of advisor.
