hi! the last couple of hours i spent on your page getting nostalgic and sad about seriker:( so thank you for that! they still are the most pure thing that football gave us and i’m gonna be forever sad about how the things turned out. and I wanted to ask I can’t find it anywhere did iker attend sergio’s wedding? and do you think there is a chance for their relationship to get fixed? i mean I know that they are friendly with each other now but something seems off and of course their relationship was affected by Real Madrid bullshit idk i don’t think they had a real fight but probably iker was hurt that sergio his sese didn’t protect and support him back then. what do you think about that?
hi anon! :)
omg, seriously? I also miss seriker a lot, I can't believe there was never any photo of them together after the last meeting with spain nt :(
everything that happened to iker was very unfair, but now I look back and I think it was good for his mental health that he left rm, y'know?? after he joined FC Porto he seemed much happier and relaxed...
well, i heard that iker didn't go to the wedding, but i also saw some mutuals saying he did... but i don't know what the truth is, there are no records that prove his presence :(
I believe they do talk to each other through messages or calls, even because I've noticed that sometimes they put comments on each other's ig posts! but I don't know how close they still are and it also breaks my heart :~
I don't think they had a fight either, I think it's not ''the same thing'' cuz their lifes changed, Iker is in Portugal and Sergio has been in Madrid all ts time, they both have kids and other things to deal with... idk, I don't think their friendship is over but maybe it's not the same as it was 8 years ago. i remember when iker left RM, sergio showed up the next day to travel with the team, and he was so upset and sad.
anyway, i don't know if i was able to answer your questions very well, but i'm open to chat, anon! I also miss seeing them together and how their union meant a lot to those who know them! they really were very strong together, they complemented each other and I can say they were soulmates.

What is your first impression on my little cuties
(Be nice to them please 🥺 they truly deserve all the kindness in this world)
For all of them I give you there actual team, for the record, they all play and start their young career with Porto, I give you their name and age, enjoy !
1. Fabio Vieira, 20 years old, FCPorto
Tumblr media
2. Diogo Leite, 21 years old, FCPorto
Tumblr media
3. Diogo Dalot, 21 years old, Manchester United (loan to Milan) (you probably know him but I just live him so much and he’s such a sweet boy)
Tumblr media
4. João Mario, 20 years old, FCPorto (this one is like my Pierre Gasly, he has just a pure heart you know)
Tumblr media
5. Romario Baro, 20 years old, FCPorto
Tumblr media
6. Fabio Silva, 18 years old, Wolverhampton
Tumblr media
7. Tomas Esteves, 18 years old, FCPorto (loan to Reading FC)
Tumblr media
8. Diogo Costa, 21 years old, FCPorto
Tumblr media
That’s it, I am so excited to get your first impression on them ! Tell me if you knew any of them, I think maybe you knew Diogo Dalot if you like Manchester United but I had to put him here🤩
1. He looks short. Like very short, the poor kid and he looks so skinny. Someone feed him!!! Plus he he has scared eyes. Like the people who look shocked even when they are not. Yup, that.
2. Tall, physical. I think he might be a winger. Looks very confident and that jawline. Maaan what a jawline. Could be a model but I think he might be a bit shy, no? Hair is a disaster though. Tsk tsk.
3. I do know him! Not a fan of United, but I've seen him with Milan. Still, don't know too much about him either. He looks like a soft spoken giant. Is he tall? He looks tall? Also sleepy. Them droopy eyes. Someone let the man sleep. Also disaster hair but he has an adorable face to pull it off at least.
4. *Points back* Your honor! I love him! I love that one! He has my entire heart. I do not know who he is, or what he does *football you say?* doesn't matter, I love him!!! He has baby face, and fluffy curls and points at the camera!!!! *screams* why is he so soft!!!!!
5. He's either a striker or a winger? He is very fast probably. And also 10/10 hair. I'm jealous. Glorious hair. Absolutely glorious. We stan that hair!!! I think he is soft spoken and maybe a little shy but he is the kind of person that lights up entirely when they laugh. A baby
6...... He looks traumatized, not gonna lie. You know when people are trying to smile inspite of all the pain and suffering they've been through? Yeah, he looks like he's been through some shit. *puts a blanket over him* my least favorite so far. But hang in there my child! Whatever happened to you, you'll get through it!!!!
7. Is Read FC a high school drama? Cuz that kid looks like a high school main lead teenager who the main girl falls in love with when the wind catches his hair and he looks at her all mysterious like lmao. He plays football, does all kinds of sports, but secretary he likes to write novels and read books. Lol. For real though, football wise. I think he might be a bit clumsy. Have more off days than good days. There is potential there but he doubts himself a lot so he is prone to making mistakes.
8. He is huge!!! Maybe it's the camera angel but he looks big!! Dorkie face. Wouldn't fear him in a dark alley. And 100% sure he gives great hugs. Like just warm hugs all around. Feels like he takes life in strides and has great mental strenght. But he also looks like those type of people that when they cry it's absolutely heartbreaking. Definitely adorable with kids too.
Ok!!! I'm done!!! Went really nice on this one, since I didn't wanna insult your boys.😅😅 Hope I at least got something correct😁

Review: Vodafone Paredes de Coura ‘18
What can we put into a list of “things that do not happen often” when talking about a music festival? What about this: there’s this festival - our favorite festival, for reasons that extend beyond the lineup - that, faced with another cancelled Björk gig, decided to go for the jugular and announce, in her place, giant “stadium indie” act Arcade Fire, thirteen years after playing there in the 2005 edition while touring Funeral. Nothing could take the spotlight away from them, right? But imagine there was this kid from the Lisbon suburbs that self-produced his albums at home and played his first gig only six months before this festival. Could he relegate one of the most sought after bands of our world - whose show was quite spectacular, at times - to the footnotes of our festival review?
youtube
Playing for a completely packed Vodafone.fm stage on the first night of the festival, after a lukewarm, absolutely forgettable headlining The Blaze show in the main stage, Conan Osiris and dancer João Reis Moreira revealed themselves to really be a force of nature - although a divisive one, exactly as we expected to. Even those who watched from a distance as the bizarre show went on will remember, in ten years, that they witnessed the pinnacle (we think!) of the invulgar rise to fame of two complete outsiders that already inserted themselves - and rightfully so - into the mythology of the festival. Just check out Canal 180′s video of the happening. Earlier that afternoon, Conan Osiris had a huge opportunity to promote himself in a secret show organized by Vodafone, but decided to prop up his protegè Sreya instead to a room full of press and festival goers. That’s what a proper idol does, guys.
Tumblr media
Marlon Williams. Picture: Hugo Lima / Festival Paredes de Coura.
But they were not the only highlight of the first night of Vodafone Paredes de Coura 2018. Earlier on, Marlon Williams was raising hell as he and his band threw hit after hit from the much lauded Make Way for Love - oftentimes with a ballad, with a more rock-ish number shaking up things every now and then - and we can tell this is the start of yet another loving relationship between a songwriter and the Portuguese public, following the footsteps of Kevin Morby who seems to play the country every single summer. He left the FC Porto shirt at home (maybe he thought fans of the local club would kick the shit out of him if he did), but a few of his fans didn’t. I might have been one of them, but don’t let SC Courense fans know about this.
Tumblr media
Pussy Riot. Picture: Hugo Lima / Festival Paredes de Coura.
But the highlight of the third night of the festival had to be the mythical ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, playing one of the essential indie rock albums of the 21st century in its entirety, Source Tags & Codes in the Vodafone.fm stage plus two straight to the point tracks off their back catalogue: Worlds Apart’s magnificent “Will You Smile Again?” and set closer “A Perfect Teenhood” off Madonna, igniting a riff-hungry packed tent. Earlier on, Lucy Dacus presented her sophomore album for the first time in the country with a more than competent early afternoon show, certainly collecting a few hundred new fans along the way - expect her to keep visiting us in the next few years. Imarhan were already killing it in the smaller stage as Dacus finished her set. I was lucky to see them alongside Blonde Redhead and Snail Mail at Paradiso Amsterdam a few days after Paredes de Coura, and what a show it was. Later on, Slowdive sounded, once again, crystal clear, but the magic of their first reunion tour seems to be wearing off; fortunately, the songs off their latest, self-titled album, are a breath of fresh air in an otherwise unremarkable show for such a late hour time slot. Fortunately, Skepta has turned up the volume (except during that 15 minute set interruption as overly enthusiastic people were allegedly throwing shit on stage) to set us up for the bizarre world of the umpteenth - and probably the most entertaining - coming of Russian activist collective Pussy Riot. Thank God they and their band seem to have sold their guitars and bought turntables, as their punk rock past was mostly a schadenfreude generator: this Slav-heavy hard bass suits them way better, and the projections were hilarious at times. Yes, this is what punk can be in 2018 and there’s nothing wrong with it: Internet memes can sometimes be more effective than meaningless shouted angry words.
Tumblr media
Shame. Picture: Hugo Lima / Festival Paredes de Coura.
Back to Thursday. Shame were our top pick for the day, and although we would prefer them in the cozyness of a small stage, the main stage wasn’t certainly an obstacle to a young band that’s on their way of establishing themselves, alongside IDLES, as one of the British powerhouses of angry, anthemic, anti-establishment rock music. And, well, who doesn’t love a band that takes themselves so seriously to the point of taking the stage to the sound of the great Vengaboys? On the other hand, Japanese Breakfast was a bit too lukewarm for our taste. Another case of a good songwriter that cannot make it in the 20:30 time slot on the second stage at Paredes de Coura, our music festival equivalent of a decent football team having to play Stoke City away on a rainy Tuesday night (Frankie Cosmos would suffer the same fate the following day, as Waxahatchee, Algiers or Cigarettes After Sex did a few years back). At night, Surma tried to battle this history presenting her beautiful, intricate recent album Antwerpen, and we cannot say she failed, although her delicate music certainly fits a seated, proper theater instead. On the main stage, Fleet Foxes were competent, without shining too bright. But we can blame both the difficulty of capturing the complexities of the Seattle folk band and delivering a consistently good quality sound to a natural amphitheatre, and the usual troublemakers that think buying a festival ticket entitles them to having loud conversations ten rows from the stage. Jungle seem to be only a little more than a one hit wonder, but then we remember that one hit is the massive “Busy Earnin’” and everything’s alright with the world once again.
Tumblr media
Dead Combo. Picture: Hugo Lima / Festival Paredes de Coura.
The most emotional moment of the festival had to be Dead Combo’s incredible show in the last night. A much deserved prime time show for the best band coming out of Portugal in the 21st century in a delicate time for one half of the founding duo, as Pedro Gonçalves appears to be struggling with disease; we really hope this is not the last we see of him. Mark Lanegan, who’s featured in their latest record Odeon Hotel, has joined the six-piece outfit for part of the gig, his contributions being way more interesting than anything he has done on his countless Portuguese shows over the past few years. A huge version of “Lisboa Mulata”, towards the end of the set, was the highlight of this show. It’s not like we merely want more of them in the future, we need Dead Combo alive and kicking. Just a couple of hours earlier, Big Thief have confirmed their status as the best indie band of the past couple of years. Yes, this is a big statement, but anyone who’s familiar with their work knows it’s the truth, even without main guitar player Buck Meek, who’s focusing on touring his solo debut album. Listening to their masterpiece “Masterpiece” should be enough, but as Adrianne Lenker et al. launch into tearjerker “Paul”, we know we’re witnessing something special. She’s surprised she’s playing for so many people; we’re certain they’ll be playing for a crowd like this daily on their next summer festival tour. Later on, Arcade Fire brought the big guns in the beginning of an euphoric show (“Everything Now”, “Neighbourhood #3″, “Rebellion (Lies)”, and “No Cars Go”) before dwelling into less interesting territory, interrupted here and there with well received incursions into less played material (pre-Funeral deep cut “Cars and Telephones” and Neon Bible’s “Intervention”). But we had to wait much later for a spectacular, ecstatic “Reflektor”, before going into an encore closed with the very first song they played, in that same stage, 13 years before: sing-along favorite “Wake Up”. Between hardcore fans and people they lost along the way through their journey from an unknown (but hot prospect) Canadian indie band into a huge outfit capable of filling up arenas and headlining massive festivals like Rock in Rio, few could say they were not entertained. But could they do it against an unknown 20-something kid from the suburbs in a cold, early evening 20:30 slot in Paredes de Coura?

João Félix: The Golden Boy or Flop
Well, in light to the main topic of this/my first ever column, I just want to say, thank you for clicking and reading this piece. I hope you enjoy it.
Tumblr media
If you don't already know him, you will have definitely have heard about Benfica and Portugal's current gem, João Félix. Hailed by many as the successor to Ronaldo, but how exactly does he match any team's criteria of an ideal player. In fact, what makes him the most wanted youngster in the world of football right now?
About our man
Born on the 10th of November 1999 in Viseu, João Félix is 5ft 9, right footed and he begun his career at a young age signing for FC Porto's academy "Dragon Force" before making a move to Benfica for free, joining their U17 side.
At 16 years old, he was already establishing himself within Benfica's Youth setup in Seixal, scoring 6 goals in 10 games (as well as an assist) in the UEFA Youth League and 3 goals in 12 appearances in the Ledman Liga Pro (Portugal's Second Division), impressing at the time manager, Hélder Cristóvão and earning him a move to Benfica B the following season. In the 2017/18 season, he got his shot for Benfica B, picking up 17 Ledman Liga Pro appearances with 4 goals and 5 assists, spending most season playing as a Winger and Attacking Midfielder.
Tumblr media
João Félix playing for Benfica B vs Manchester United in the UEFA Youth League.
This season, saw a surprise to many Benfica fans. With a lack of strikers at the disposal of at the time manager Rui Vitória, he turned to Benfica B's talents, scooping up, you guessed it, João Félix. Benfica fans were excited to see what he could bring to the table, especially due to a recent saga between Jonas and Rui Vitória over his contract renewal causing Jonas to "become injured" for a long period of time and a recent signing Facundo Ferreyra who was yet to score a goal.
The Rise
25th of August, 3rd match of the season sees Benfica face Sporting CP in a Lisbon Derby at the Estádio da Luz. Sporting lead with a Nani penalty and with Facundo Ferreyra showing lack of threat and not scoring, comes off with Pizzi, Seferovic and the kid himself, João Félix come off the bench to replace both players respectively. On the 85th minute, the ball is knocked down to the right handside to Rafa, who whips it in first time, and who is there to meet his cross? João Félix. He rises the highest, heading the ball to the back of the net - sending Benfica fans into jubilation and scoring his first ever senior goal with less than 60 minutes of game time under his belt, making him the youngest player to ever score in a Lisbon Derby.
Tumblr media
João Félix scoring the equaliser in the Lisbon Derby draw against Sporting. He became the youngest player to do so.
Fans were left begging to see him play more, but were left waiting a month before seeing him play again this time vs Desportivo Aves, where he scored from a sensational first time finish with his weaker left foot.
But, for manager Rui Vitória, this wasn't enough and insisted on playing Facundo Ferreyra, in fact, it was only on the 5th of December did Benfica fans see Félix in the starting lineup again, this time in the League Cup tie vs Paços de Ferreira, where he started as a right winger and scored a goal, this time with his right foot.
Rui Vitória would only use Félix as an "off the bench" player and didn't see much in him, occasionally bringing him on in some matches on the late stages of the match. Rui Vitória was stubborn, his lack of change and boring ideas and football caused his demise, seeing him sacked after a 2-0 loss vs Portimonense in early January. Many big names were linked to the Benfica job, from José Mourinho to Braga’s Abel Ferreira, but, Chairman, Luís Filipe Vieira turned to caretaker manager and at the time Benfica B manager Bruno Lage, his first test being Rio Ave in the League at home.
Tumblr media
Benfica B manager Bruno Lage takes charge of the first team following the sacking of Rui Vitória.
From Bruno Lage's first lineup in charge, we saw 2 changes, a new formation and João Félix in the starting lineup. A refreshing 4-4-2 saw Benfica starting João Félix as a Shadow Striker behind Target Man Seferovic.
Tumblr media
It wasn't a promising start to the game, Benfica were 2-0 down by 20 minutes. 7 minutes later, a Seferovic finish saw Benfica go 2-1 up and 4 minutes later, Seferovic crosses the ball in for João Félix who scores with his right foot. In the second half, on the 64th minute, he went on to score again, this time from a low Zivkovic cross saw another potent right foot finish from the golden boy, Benfica went on to win 4-2 in Bruno Lage's first game in charge of the Eagles.
This was the beginning to his success this season.
My Thoughts and Views on João
Let's cut to the chase, enough of me rambling on about Benfica, their matches and managers.
João's position is a Shadow Striker. At Shadow Striker is where he shines and has been at best, usually alongside a Target Man and partner in crime Haris Seferovic. But the 19 year old is versatile, he can also play as a Winger or Attacking Midfielder. His ability to play with both feet at such ease as well as heading and overall playmaking ability, is what makes him, in my opinion, the best Shadow Striker in the market, especially for his price tag. He is pacey, skilful and shows shades of a Rui Costa/Kaká with a bit of Cruyff in the mix when on the ball. When in front of goal, it is rare that you will see him take many touches before shooting, he has this Striker's drive and Poacher's finishing which is second to none. This goes without saying about his playmaking ability, he is not selfish and looks to assist when he can. This season he has scored a total of 15 in all competitions and assisted 7 goals. (as of 12th of April 2019)
He is not shy of a big game either, scoring and assisting against Sporting again in the Lisbon Derby during a 4-2 win in Alvalade in February and scoring vs Porto at the Estádio do Dragão in March on Benfica's 2-1 win in the Clásico.
Tumblr media
Félix celebrating his equaliser over Porto.
When looking at the historial past and well known players seen at Benfica, the term flop tends to be placed on a youngster, Renato Sanches. My fear, is that like Renato Sanches and many other footballers at his young age, he joins a footballing giant, whom and who's fans will be very demanding and causing such young player not to perform to his full potential. Renato Sanches was (and still is) a very promising, showing fantastic ability to boss a midfield with great ease and dominate the opposition as well the ability of being able to score some screamers, but high expectations and extraordinary amounts of pressure has meant that Sanches has not been able to reach his potential just yet.
Tumblr media
He is young, in fact, far too young to move clubs just yet in my opinion, and this might be biased, but he should be given time to develop as a player - or - be loaned back to Benfica to gain experience. It is easy for me, a soon to be 18 year old sit here and tell someone to wait rather than making a move to a dream club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United or Liverpool, but at the end of the day, I can't blame him if he does!
National Worries
On the 15th of March, Félix earned his Portugal call-up, but is yet to make an appearance after getting injured in the training ground. What Portugal also have in their hands, is a Rui Vitória clone - by the name of Fernando Santos. Like Vitória, the problem with Fernando Santos is the unwillingness to change and experiment within the 11. Often Santos will play the same players in the same boring formation as he has been for the past 4/5 years, and its frustrating when you have a golden generation on their way, yet he insists on playing Pepe, Rui Fonte, André Silva, Guerreiro to name a few. I will explain Portugal's international worries and problems in a new column in the foreseeable future.
Tumblr media
Back to Félix, I see him lining up like he does at Benfica, in a 4-4-2 next to Ronaldo, with Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes on their respective wings, Ruben Neves and William Carvalho in the midfield. Ruben Dias and Ferro at centre backs, Guerreiro (as much as I dislike him) and Cancelo at fullbacks with Rui Patrício in goal. This is of course how I would want us to start, knowing Fernando Santos, Félix will be used as an utility player instead!
Tumblr media
The Final say
Last night, we saw the lethal and potent golden boy Benfica have in their hands. Félix scoring his first-of-many hat-trick vs Frankfurt, whilst also grabbing an assist making him the youngest player to do so since Sergio Aguero in 2007. Much to the success João Félix is having, is also down to Bruno Lage who has revolutionised this Benfica side and slotted him in a key "Shadow Striker" role, as well as Benfica's famous Seixal academy who are yet again on the road to produce a world class talent. I personally think that he should stay at Benfica for another season, or, if he decides to join football giant, to be loaned back out to Benfica before making the step up, as well as to gain experience.
An €120m release clause is seen as a bargain in today's market, but will prospective buyers be willing to give him a chance and patience before considering him another flop? Can a 19 year old hold on the urge to move to a footballing giant or will he roll the dice and look to move away? We will have to wait and see.

Chelsea Win First Club World Cup Title
Roman Abramovich's men beat Palmeiras 2-1 in Abu Dhabi thanks to a Kai Havertz winner in extra time
Tumblr media
Chelsea completed their trophy cabinet under Roman Abramovich's ownership by beating Palmeiras in extra time in the Club World Cup final on Saturday.
Following a cagey first half in Abu Dhabi, Romelu Lukaku broke the deadlock on 55 minutes with a header from a Callum Hudson-Odoi cross.
Nine minutes later, however, the Brazilians won a penalty when Thiago Silva handled while going up for the ball to make a clearance, and Raphael Veiga converted the resulting spot kick.
As neither side could find a winner in the second half, the tie went to extra time where Chelsea were also given a chance to score from 12 yards out.
This came as a result of Luan mimicking Silva by also blocking with his hand, and Kai Havertz made no mistake when he sent Weverton the wrong way as Abramovich clapped in celebration high up in the stands with the score now 2-1.

After netting the sole goal in the Champions League final against Manchester City in Porto last May, Havertz was once again the hero and Chelsea now boast the final piece of silverware that had eluded them until now.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel returned to the dugout after missing the midweek semifinal against Al-Hilal due to Covid. In a tense first half with moments of brilliance but no end product, he had to hook injured midfielder Mason Mount for Christian Pulisic around the half-hour mark.
Just before that, Dudu had Palmeiras' best chance when trying to test Edouard Mendy from distance with a long-range shot. Better passing across the channels and more accurate shooting might have seen the Sao Paulo outfit enjoy success in launching counter attacks, as they soaked up pressure and advanced well while roared on by their passionate fans.
Approaching half time, Champions League holders Chelsea finished the stronger of the two teams with Silva fancying his chances from 30 yards out yet hitting wide. Early in the second half, they finally got it right when Hudson-Odoi knocked over a delightful ball from the left wing for Romelu Lukaku to head home and make it 1-0.
Palmeiras weren't down and out, though, with VAR ruling that Silva handballed when going up to head an incoming cross out of the box which resulted in a penalty.
Taking his time after the whistle had been blown, Raphael Veiga equalized by drilling his effort into the bottom left corner past Mendy to set up a thrilling final half hour.

This contained opportunities for each side, with Palmeiras again fancying their chances on the break as Chelsea threaded together slick passing moves that Havertz and Pulisic couldn't grant the finishes they deserved.
With a quarter of an hour to spare, both sides made double substitutions with Tuchel introducing Saul Niguez and Timo Werner at the expense of Hudson-Odoi and Lukaku. But as nobody could find a winner, the tie went to extra time.
It was there that Havertz was the man of the hour, with Luan's misery compounded by being red-carded in the closing minutes, and the German later described the feeling of winning as "amazing".
"After [becoming] champions of Europe, we are now champions of the world. It sounds better," Havertz said to Channel 4 in the UK.
"I was nervous [taking the penalty], I have to be honest. It's a big penalty. It's just crazy. It was good I kept the nerves. I am very happy.
"I was the third penalty taker but I was the only one left on the pitch," Havertz pointed out.
"My teammates gave me trust. I dreamed always as a kid [about] this. This is an amazing feeling for me," the youngster finished.
"It never stops. We want to keep on winning trophies," declared Havertz's compatriot coach Tuchel, as Chelsea uploaded a celebratory post to social media with the caption "We've won it all".
Tumblr media

"In the end if you score late you need luck to do it but we were relentless and we did not stop trying. We did not give in. We had the lead then lost it but never stopped. It was deserved but [it's] also lucky when you score late," Tuchel went on.
"The penalty does not look nervous [from Havertz] but for sure he was. You can't not be nervous in this situation. We trusted the statistics and I'm happy for him."
Asked how it felt to make history with Chelsea and complete their trophy cabinet, Tuchel said: "I'm a part of it and I'm happy to have the chance. We said before in the dressing room 'what an opportunity'.
"We all dream to have finals like this. There are no regrets. There are still things to win and it never stops," he concluded.
With Chelsea set to face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final in just over a fortnight, Tuchel has a point. Before then, there is also a Champions League last 16 double date with Lille to negotiate while going all the way again in Europe's premier cup competition for the second successive time would have them back in Abu Dhabi a year from now to try and become world rulers once more.
