Also, if I do add these muses I would be looking for FCs for many of them. So just in case anyone can help, I'll post what I'm looking for.
Elizabeth Gold: I'm going to make her older than she previously was, so I'm looking for a white woman in her twenties, preferably with black hair, but I can go with brown in a pinch. <3
Arianne Martell: I'd like a biracial woman (not extremely picky on what races/ethnicities she is, though I do have ideas but am open to suggestions as well) preferably with period/fantasy resources. As far as age goes, I'm open but leaning towards twenties.
Katniss Everdeen: Again, would like a biracial/multiracial woman, preferably some form of Indigenous. Bonus points for Native Americans seeing as Panem is dystopian America.
Lucy Gray Baird: Would like a Romani woman FC, because I headcanon the Covey as being somewhat inspired by that group of people. And I'd like to honor that in my portrayal of Lucy Gray.
Peeta Mellark: I'd like a white man, preferably with dirty blonde hair. Though I could do brown in a pinch.
(For most of the THG/TBOSAS muses I would be portraying them in a post-canon setting but would be willing to RP within the canon timeline as well.)
The rest of the muses, I'd already have FCs for.
And again, if there are any muses you'd like to see me portray, let me know <3

versailles (TV) OC - Janice
template from here!
BASIC INFORMATION
Full Name: Jana Catalina Loren [ZAH-NUH KAT-A-LEE-NUH LOR-EN] (Catalan); Jeana Catherine de Lionne [ZAY-AH-NA KA-TREEN DAY YONH] (French) Nickname(s): Jaynie, Jayn Date of Birth: August 10, 1642 Sex & Gender: Cis Female Race/Ethnicity: French, Spanish & African Sexuality: (secretly) Bisexual
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE (FC: Tessa Thompson)
Jayn is a young multiracial woman who stands at 5’4" (1.63 m). In many ways, she physically takes after her mother, having light brown skin, dark brown eyes, petite yet calloused fingers, and a somewhat toned form with thick hips. She also inherited her father’s straight hair, which she curls to resemble her mother’s once she goes to France. She has a few pale cuts on her fingers and one scar on her leg; the former are from minor accidents in her maternal family’s apothecary, and the latter is from when Jayn tripped while running as a kid. Jayn’s ears are pierced.
PERSONALITY
Raised by her strong-willed mother and her mother’s parents, Jayn is an ambitious, confident girl who finds many of Versailles's upper-class customs to be strange and/or ridiculous. She isn’t afraid to speak up, on behalf of herself or others, though she will (very reluctantly) stay quiet if doing so manipulates events in her favor. She’s incredibly loyal, with a natural need to help others. Unfortunately for some people, she holds grudges, and if she disagrees with someone on something, she’ll typically stand firm rather than compromise. Jayn is rather sentimental–after her mother’s death, she wears her cross necklace (despite feeling distant from the heavens in general) and tries to grow the things her mother would’ve used at the apothecary shop. She likes the idea of love and romance, but she doesn't think she'll find it.
HISTORY
Jayn was raised by a happy middle-class family in Spain, one consisting of her mom, plus her maternal grandparents. Despite literacy being mostly a characteristic of the upper class, they made sure she could read and write, wanting her to have the best life possible. Besides, literacy helped when it came to chores at the family apothecary: organizing, shelving, reading recipes and addresses. Anyway, the Lorens were better off than most, probably because Jayn’s grandma made the best couture in their region, and their family descended from African royalty. Jayn enjoyed reading about philosophy, swimming in the country, and boxing, which some male friends taught her. When her mother died of pneumonia, the Lorens were heartbroken–and Jayn went from sad to angry when they told her that her mother wished for her to live at Versailles, as one of Queen Maria Theresa/Marie-Thérèse's ladies-in-waiting (a position that her estranged French father, Hughes de Lionne, had secured for Jayn through his status as French secretary of state).
(AU) in short, the Lorens were what some might call witches, in that they knew how to use incantations and potions to magically affect the world around them. Members of the supernatural community frequented their apothecary, in addition to humans who knew nothing about magic at all. Jayn was never told what she was because her mother had always planned for her to go live a more privileged life with her father…but she still inherited the ability to detect supernatural creatures, as well as an immunity to hypnotism, possession, and other psionic attacks.
SKILLS
Languages: Jayn is fluent in Spanish, her native language. She is conversational in French, and she knows bits of Classical Greek and Latin from things she’s read.
Dancing: she doesn’t mind being silly and dancing to music that’s playing, but she knows next to nothing about the upper-class European dance styles.
Healing: because of her experience in an apothecary, she knows the recipe of a few tonics by heart, and she can identify a fair amount of herbs by their look alone.
Athletics: Jayn is pretty physically fit for a girl her age, as she is a naturally fast swimmer. Practice has taught her how to throw a punch strong enough to bruise.

⋆ ° ☠ — (Oliver Jackson-Cohen, bisexual, male) look who’s anchored on Tulach Island; it’s Ryder Kilpatrick, a 30 year old Mate on The Raging Tsunami. He has been described as loyal & gentle, but also forgetful & stubborn. He has been tasked with watching over Mateo de la Fuente (Sean Teale fc) @mateodelafuente. While on the island, he works as Security at the Fitness Center.
Hey all, here’s my dork of an amnesiac but just because he doesn’t remember his life before two years ago doesn’t mean he’s not dedicated to his new pirate life. He’s full-on for the cause and though he has a few memory issues with his current explicit memories it doesn’t stop him from giving his all. Here are some more head canons and faq:  Headcanon #1: Ryder has retrograde amnesia and doesn’t remember his life before 2 years ago. He was travelling in Australia, alone, and went out drinking one night with some blokes he met randomly. The men were trouble but Ryder realized that too late and the fight had already broken out at the seedy bar they were at. He got pulled into it but was hit on the back of the head with a bottle, falling unconscious. Things would have been fine had he been left for the cops or medics to find but his “friends” carted him out, thinking he was already dead. They dumped his body in a quarry, causing more damage to his head and when he was found there was no ID on him and he couldn’t remember a thing once he awoke from his coma 6 months later. He took to the name Ryder when a young girl in the hospital told him he reminded her of the character from Tangled (though he spelled it differently and took only the last name, not wanting to look childish) and took Kilpatrick as his last name in gratitude to the doctor who had helped him so much at the hospital. He couldn’t stay at the hospital as he had no funds and there was nothing wrong with him aside from the amnesia and the doctor encouraged him to go out into the world and make a new life.
Headcanon #2: He met one of the pirates while out at a park, thinking about what he was going to do with his new lease on life. He had heard about the kidnappings through the news but for some reason his heart went out to the pirates and their cause. Something about the underdog spoke to him and though he didn’t realize that the other man was a pirate right away, the man was recruiting and through a few pointed questions was able to see where Ryder’s allegiance would be with the right bits of pressure and encouragement. He joined the crew as a mate and was quite handy on the ship, if a little forgetful sometimes as a lingering side-effect of the trauma to his brain before.
Headcanon #3: Though he doesn’t know about his life from 2 years ago, he has fully accepted himself and his flaws. From the bad memory to being equally attracted to men and women, Ryder takes each day as it comes. He’s not even sure he wants to remember his life before joining the ship at this point, who knows what havoc that would wreck on everything.
BOLD GAME - note: some of these he doesn’t know if he has in the past or not but I’m doing this for him so just don’t expect him to remember he once bleached out his hair. I’ve italicized the things he doesn’t know.

regency/bridgerton era OC: Janice
template from here!
BASIC INFORMATION
Full Name: Juana Catalina Loren [HU-AN-AH KAT-A-LEEN-A LOR-EN] (Catalan)/ Lady Janice Katherine Wayne (English) Nickname(s): Jaynie, Jayn Date of Birth: August 15 (typically played btwn 18-25 yrs) Sex & Gender: Cis Female Race/Ethnicity: English, Spanish & African Sexuality: (secretly) Bisexual
She also inherited her father's straight hair, which she curls to resemble her mother's once she joins the ton/upper class of England. She has a few pale cuts on her fingers and one scar on her leg; the former are from minor accidents in her maternal family's apothecary, and the latter is from when Jayn tripped while running as a kid. Jayn's ears are pierced.
PERSONALITY
Raised by her strong-willed mother and her mother's parents, Jayn is an ambitious, confident girl who finds many of England's upper-class customs to be strange and/or ridiculous. She isn't afraid to speak up, on behalf of herself or others, though she will (very reluctantly) stay quiet if doing so manipulates events in her favor. She's incredibly loyal, with a natural need to help others. Unfortunately for some people, she holds grudges, and if she disagrees with someone on something, she'll typically stand firm rather than compromise. Jayn is rather sentimental--after her mother's death, she wears her cross necklace (despite feeling distant from the heavens in general) and tries to grow the things her mother would've used at the apothecary shop. She likes the idea of love and romance, but she would rather run away to another city than go through with an arranged marriage that she knows would make her unhappy.
HISTORY
Jayn was raised by a happy middle-class family in Spain, one consisting of her mom, plus her maternal grandparents. Despite literacy being mostly a characteristic of the upper class, they made sure she could read and write, wanting her to have the best life possible. Besides, literacy helped when it came to chores at the family apothecary: organizing, shelving, reading recipes and addresses). Anyway, the Lorens were better off than most, probably because Jayn's grandma made the best couture in their region, and their family descended from African royalty. Jayn enjoyed reading about philosophy, swimming in the country, and boxing, which some male friends taught her. When her mother died of pneumonia, the Lorens were heartbroken--and Jayn went from sad to angry when they told her that her mother wished for her to live with her father, the Duke of Gotham, near London. Jayn was going to enter high society and find a husband.
(AU) in short, the Lorens were what some might call witches, in that they knew how to use incantations and potions to magically affect the world around them. Members of the supernatural community frequented their apothecary, in addition to humans who knew nothing about magic at all. Jayn was never told what she was because her mother had always planned for her to go live a more privileged life with her father...but she still inherited the ability to detect supernatural creatures, as well as an immunity to hypnotism, possession, and other psionic attacks.
SKILLS
Languages: as an adult, Jayn has become fluent in Spanish. She is conversational in English, and she knows bits of Classical Greek and Latin from things she's read.
Dancing: she doesn't mind being silly and dancing to music that's playing, but she knows next to nothing about the upper-class European dance styles.

HI! Your vlog has been VERY helpful for me! I was wondering if you have suggestions for Vietnamese actresses who can play DC’s Artemis Crock?
Hello there thank you for the kind words. However it should be emphasized that Artemis Crock should be mixed. Whether her father the Gamemaster is another ethnicity is up to you but I personally feel like it would be erasing her identity if you made her full Vietnamese. So consider the following. Resources will vary and  most credit to  @vietfaceclaims for their directory
 Mixed with White (1992-2000)
Mlee Tapiau (1992)- 1/2 French
Patti Harrison (1992)- 1/2 Unspecified White
Lilly Nguyễn (1993)- 1/2 White Canadian
Mixed with Non White Ethnicities (1992-2000)
Leena D (1992)- Half Chinese
Sarocha Burin (1996)- Half Thai
Star Slade (1998)- Half Metis
Cynthy Wu (19??)- Half Chinese

you seem really knowledgeable about race-related issues w/ the rpc so i thought i'd ask: is it just me, or does the rpc seem to have a problem w/ actually acknowledging and using japanese fcs?
ty ! but when it comes to race issues, i genuinely have a lot to learn.
to answer your question—— i do believe the rpc has a problem acknowledging and using japanese fcs. but– in the same way the rpc has a problem engaging with most types of poc. however, if you (or anyone else) feels differently, please enlighten me. i would love to know.
in the meanwhile, i did some… statistics and analysis for you below the cut. thank you to the 21 roleplays from which I used their taken character information.
Tumblr media
A STUDY IN THE USAGE OF JAPANESE FCS (a la the RPC 2019)
for a fuller and better understanding of your question, i decided to do a little research. i wanted to see which japanese fcs were being used, how often japanese fcs were being used, compare this to real-life numbers and more.
STEP 1. GATHERING DATA
trawling the tags, i came up with a list of rps. from there, i excluded any rp with under 20 muses— though i do note that none of the rps under 20 muses had more than one japanese fc. and then, i noted every single time i saw a japanese fc being used and the frequency of japanese fcs in the rp. i also went ahead and identified what country’s entertainment industry they were in (western/american, japanese, korean) and if they were of mixed descent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
STEP 2. RESULTS
Based on these 21 RPs, the AVERAGE % of Japanese FCs is 1.53%.
OF NOTE, if there is any japanese fcs in an rp, the average is boosted to around 2.59%. With the exception of 2 RPs, every single RP that had any japanese fcs in it was within .2% of this score… aka, while there are some failures in our sampling (non-random), all of the members of our sample were fairly similar in terms of % of japanese fcs.
The most popular fcs to see were RYAN POTTER (½ japanese and a western fc), NANA KOMATSU (full japanese, in the japanese industry ), & KAYLEE BRYANT (¼ japanese and a western fc).
nearly all the fcs with multiple occurrences were mixed fcs from western entertainment. in addition, nearly all the fcs from western entertainment were mixed while the ones from eastern industries were full-blooded.
STEP 3. INTERPRETATION.
according to worldometers, the actual percentage of japanese people in the world is equivalent to 1.64%. the census shows that the percentage of japanese people in the us is 0.4%
so yeah. based on my crappy data, we’re doing okay.
and tbh. im actually. really shocked and impressed by that.
on one hand, it makes sense. while i would love to see more japanese fcs used (catch me… making gif icons of chiharu okunugi and saila kunikida in my free time all day), i’ve never noticed anything egregious abt japanese fcs in particular and this does back up the argument.
but… on the other, you’re right. i feel you 100% on the fact that we have a problem. as someone who is asian and in the rpc, i feel like it is important to emphasize that we need to and we CAN DO so much better. my data, as presented thus far, is skewed heavily in favor of “everyone’s doing the right thing! and everyone’s writing these people as japanese!”– when really that’s not the case at all.
for one, just because the percentages show that japanese fcs are being played, this does not guarantee good portrayal.
secondly, changing the definition of japanese… will change the results extensively. for example, this dataset includes people who are less than ½ japanese (booboo and fivel stewart (japanese, chinese, korean, ½ white + claims of blackfoot), ming lee simmons and kaylee bryant (¼ japanese) ) while they are still japanese, they ARE also mixed. and it’s hard. to make that decision. whether they should count as japanese portrayal and representation.
i’ve also noticed that not all these characters are even played as japanese. in particular, kaylee bryant’s japanese heritage is sometimes ignored and she will be used to play played a white character, while booboo stewart is usually either native or just… ambiguously asian. neither of these things are good.
and thus… if i stop giving people the benefit of the doubt and actually look for japanese portrayal instead of just … any japanese fc, this will put us  BELOW average.
WHY WE MIGHT FEEL THAT PEOPLE ARE NOT USING OR ACKNOWLEDGING JAPANESE FCS (also WHY WE R VALID TO)
mixed fcs have privilege. and while we can love and support them and validate their identity, it is sometimes hard to see ourselves in them or to immediately identify them and acknowledge them as representation. sure, ryan potter is great. but even he’s spoken at length about how being hapa/hafu benefits him.
other races (cough… just white people and maybe kpop fcs) seem to have a lot more variety in terms of fc choices. there’s a hundred different white fcs in use. in contrast, when there is japanese representation, it is usually the same people. if you go to ten rps and they each have one japanese fc, that’s dope. but if each of those ten rps just use nana komatsu… then you’re going to feel like. people don’t use japanese fcs.
people might be writing shitty japanese stereotypes or portrayals.
regardless if… all or none of the above is what you think, if you feel like an ethnicity is being slept on in the rpc. you are not wrong. you are also not alone. this is not the only group that feels this way. a big reason i run @vietrpc is for similar reasons. i wanted to see more viet faces. i wanted to see more diversity. but— lbr, the frequency of just lana condor in an rp will probably equal to the frequency of vietnamese people in the world. even though, lana condor is the only viet person ppl play (s/o to jessica vu, hyulari + karrueche for trying tho).
i’ve seen black muns do similar things when they say that people don’t play black muses. while most rps i’ve seen do have some sort of black characters in it. they just happen to be… the most ‘passable’, the most ‘acceptable’. we all love zendaya, but when she’s the only black person that ever gets used in the rpc– that’s not great. it is so easy to feel like… because these are token fcs, that they don’t count.
( note: i haven’t done the math. but i would probably put money down on that people don’t play black muses… to a level that’s beyond what asians in the rpc face. and there’s a lot more going on with this issue than there is w/ viet or japanese representation. i just wanted to reference it, because it is a similar topic.)
look. the rpc sleeps on poc. we know that. even if they use our faces. they still suck at doing it right.
part of it is most of the rpc is western. and… lbr… there’s really not that many asians in western media. people just don’t like using fcs they’re unfamiliar with. and they’re not willing to immerse themself in the japanese entertainment industry or whatever.  that’s just going to be a thing.
part of it is. cough. racism. wow, look at the time.
.
.
lastly.
ok ngl that was… more work than i expected but it was really rewarding to see the data like that. if anyone enjoyed reading that or seeing that and wanted to see more, lmk. you could even help out tbh. i think it would be interesting to do this for other races.
my lab reports always include my errors, so, if i had to redo this, i would have a larger sample and choose a random sample of 20 from it. i would do all my data in excel so i could see how my data was affected by removing people who were less than ½ japanese. i would also maybe include… a poll on how people write their characters. inclusive of the following questions.
what is your race? (you may answer with non-japanese/japanese or your specific race)
what do you do to write this character? what references do you draw upon?
is your character japanese
this would weed out the white-washing ppl n ppl who just don’t play a multiracial character in that way.
if your fc was changed to that of another ethnicity, would your backstory change?
would the way you play your character change?
on a scale of 1-4 with 1 being not important at all to 4 being very important, how important is your fc’s ethnicity when it comes to writing and developing your muse?
these open-ended questions would help me understand the portrayal of japanese characters in the rpc
if you can contribute anything to this conversation, my inbox is always open. i’m glad to hear it.
