'Special', 'One of our own' - Some Liverpool fans drool over 25-goal teenager
Liverpool and Manchester City are fighting tooth and nail at the top of the Premier League this season. The Reds could finish on 97 points and still finish second such is the nature of the fierce battle.
There was also very little to separate the two sides in last night’s FA Youth Cup Final.
Liverpool edged it. After coming from behind to equalise in the 86th minute, it was the Reds who came out victorious following a penalty shootout.
It was Bobby Duncan, so often the saviour for Liverpool’s youngsters this season, who scored the equalising goal. His speculative effort cancelling out Nabil Touaizi’s first-half strike.

The 17-year-old striker has been in fine form this season. In all competitions, he has scored 25 goals and claimed seven assists.
It will have been a sickener for City who released Duncan prior to his switch to join the academy at Anfield. The young talisman holds no grudges though and posted a heartfelt message following the game:
I just want to pay my respect to @ManCityAcademy and all the staff and players who have been on my journey it was a great game with 2 top teams!
— Bobby Duncan (@bobbyduncan999) April 25, 2019
After paying his respects it was time to celebrate, however, and he posted another tweet shortly after the niceties towards his former club:
CHAMPIONS
— Bobby Duncan (@bobbyduncan999) April 25, 2019
After winning the title, Liverpool supporters were full of praise for the youngster and took to Twitter to offer their congratulations. We rounded up the best tweets regarding the hotshot striker:
Bobby Duncan is so good. Hopefully his career doesn't get ruined by over hyping him.

Bobby Duncan. Special player!
— Ben Kelly (@benkelly_10) April 25, 2019
Does anyone thinks Bobby Duncan will be in the first team squad next season, or still to early?
— Josh (@JGLFC2387) April 25, 2019
Bobby Duncan is a genuine football player. Scoring on the final. Running back to City’s player. Sportsman

What a story it would be if Bobby Duncan continues like he's played and over time makes it into LFC's first team. Steven Gerrard's cousin, a through and through scouser, a life-long Liverpudlian, continues the family story. 18 goals and 5 assists in 18 PL2 games 18/19 bodes well.
— Maxi (@MaaxiAngelo) April 25, 2019
Bobby Duncan is definitely the future of Liverpool
— Ellis (@ETDesigns_) April 25, 2019
Bobby Duncan… Remember the name. The future of football in the making. #FAYouthCup

BOBBY DUNCAN GOAT
— XS23 (@CalvesLikeShaq) April 25, 2019
Oh Bobby Duncan, he’s one of our own!
— Klxpp (@Klxpp_) April 25, 2019
Was beginning to wonder where Bobby Duncan was. And boom he scores…
— Rukhsar. (@rukhsarahmed786) April 25, 2019
Bobby Duncan. Special player.
— Joe Allen (@JAIIen_) April 25, 2019
The upside to Bobby Duncan making it at LFC is so huge since I wouldn’t even have to think up new stuff to say than I already do for Firmino

A big future awaits these three stars of the FA Youth Cup final victory #CFC #FAYouthCup
