In the Horizons dub, I really like Faye Mata as Dot. She’s great at sounding androgynous and has lots of energy when Dot is Nidothing.

Vocal delivery comparison between A.K.I. (SF6) and F.A.N.G (SFV and SF6). I don't know if anyone else notices or if I'm just obsessed, but I always thought that AKI (Faye Mata) sounded like FANG (Jesse Merlin) with her speech patterns and expressiveness. It makes sense considering that AKI was trained and raised by FANG, so of course she'd talk like him.

One thing to note, Jonathan Klein was the English Voice Director for both Street Fighter V and Street Fighter 6. I don't know the process of these things, but maybe having the same English Voice Director for both SFV and SF6 could explain the similar vocal delivery between the poisonous Master and Apprentice.

Perhaps FANG and AKI's similarity is more obvious in the Japanese version. AKI (voiced by Mutsumi Tamura) has a more mature sounding voice. But when she gets excited or vulnerable, she has a high-pitch voice like a very young girl. FANG is similar in that aspect (voiced by Shigeru Chiba). Most would remember his screechy high-pitch voice. But when he’s serious, he'll sound deep and ominous. Also, both AKI and FANG say "desu" often. It's supposed to mean "to be" or "it is," but it's a play on words as it's written in katakana, so it sounds like the English word "death." Unfortunately I'm not fluent in Japanese, so I can't make a video comparison for this.

A little tidbit, FANG originated the "Nishishi" laugh that AKI is known for:

Another Good English Voice Actor Suggestion For Miss Heed If Villainous Got A More Professional Dub

I know many people have headcannoned Cristina Vee but I think another voice actor could fit her very well...

Faye Mata!!!

A big reason why is because she has voiced a yandere like Yukako who is obsessed with a nerdy like guy and would do anything to get his affection. Unlike Heed, she eventually mellows out and learns to actually have a healthy relationship. While Heed is still in the stage where she still doesn’t understand you can force people to validate you due to lacking self-validation. 

But most of all I want her to voice Miss Heed, because she fits perfectly voicing a character who is willing to manipulate others and their feelings for her just so she can serve her own purposes. And now let me introduce you to Princess Malty or as the fandom and even the show calls her “Bitch/Slut”. 

While Miss Heed is more sympathetic than Malty, at her worst she really can be as bad as Malty, especially with how she pretends to be nice and backstabs people to benefit herself. And at the end of all things, she has everyone hating her for being untrustworthy and a pathological liar. I do think Faye Mata’s voice acting also can make you feel sympathy for her even when she shouldn’t deserve it which would be perfect for Heed as she’s locked up and still is pining for any type of attention.

What are your thoughts on Faye Mata? She did Lene and Petra.

Outside of it, she plays three sisters from Pokèmon Masters (I forgot their names 😬), Malty from Rising of the Shield Hero (don’t know if she got hate for that the same way Laura did for Mami in Rent a Girlfriend but I won’t be surprised), Amame Doi from AI The Somnium Filesand most recently a new character from Pokèmon Horizons (a new Pokèmon anime that stars different protags after Ash’s retirement)

As someone who has a 6+ Lene (totally by accident, I've accidentally summoned Lene more times than I thought I really would), I like her! I think she also plays Cherry Bomb in Hazbin Hotel who, even though I'm not really fond of it, has a really neat punk energy and I like her one line "Why don't you get that tinker-toy bullshit out of here before I smash it... more!" But damn, she plays Malty? I despise Malty with a passion too but I hope people remembered to be nice to Faye...

Diving into the review though, Lene and Petra.

I like her performance as Lene! I DO like her performance as Petra too, but the attempt to write Petra as a secondary English speaker without noting any kind of accent kind of hurt her performance a bit. That's not her fault though; It just doesn't make sense that someone with pretty clear diction and fluency has issues with wording, it's a little immersion-breaking. I mean... Hynden Walch did it with Starfire, but I think the voice director for Petra in FEH and 3H didn't really work with her much or think ahead. It would have been nicer if she had an accent like Gregor or Athena did. But back to Lene, I like how Lene's got that insecure side to her when she talks about her mother or dancing for weirdos. And I like her younger inexperienced tone in contrast to Dorothea in her Duo outfit, she gives off younger sister vibes in that pairing. I'm actually surprised that Lene hasn't had another alt yet since then, it'd be fun to have another talent festival (The Azura/Shigure/Olivia/Inigo banner) with her on it.

I think she fits both Lene and Petra, just that I wish Petra had more of an accent. But again that's not on her; she still was a good cast for the two.

I caaaaaan't really say much about range, even though Lene and Petra are two different characters, you can still kind of tell that it's her. It's mainly the energy in the lines that differentiates the two.

With all this, I think I could safely put Faye at an 8/10. She may not have a lot to work with in FEH but I'm not disappointed by her performances at all.
