[TASK 138: SENEGAL]
In celebration of Senegalese Independence Day on April 4th, there’s a masterlist below compiled of over 190+ Senegalese faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever character or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK -  examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.

She is a sex worker, a prostitute, a “whore,” a word we hear bandied about in “Angel (Un Ange),” a tragic Belgian/Senegalese romance about two ships that…

Dakar Fashion Week
The Dakar Fashion Week, launched sixteen years ago by the Senegalese designer Adama N’diaye, this year hosted 32 African designers from around 30 Countries, such as Mozambique, Mali, Nigeria and South Africa. The best-known included Thula Sindi, Magents and Tsemaye Binitie and the new generation of Senegalese designers. A large «picture» of the African fashion scene that, mixing high-level brands, may arouse the interest of the international market, and young labels with a traditional twist, that may attract the local customers, is unique and different from the Lagos or Johannesburg Fashion Weeks. A bias for the founder: «We are Africans and we don’t do here fashion shows in the same way they do in Western countries. This mix of genres, this is first the willingness to share and about African solidarity. If I didn’t put all the designers together, the best ones and the new ones, probably important people won’t come » she says. Also, if  for a while, rich African customers used to prefer international and western fashion brands, things are now changing. Wear African is the new trend. «And our main goal is to sell to Africans» Adama says.
The common feature shared by most designers this year is how they intend to highlight the African textile heritage, like the “bazin”, woven Loincloth or dyed cottons. We like how the always amazing Tsemaye Binitie uses the aso-oke, a traditional woven Nigerian fabric, typically used by the Yoruba for ceremonies. We already knew the designer for his work with silk and digital paintings on fabrics, he enchanted with a collection AW18-19, called Twelve Monochrome», made  of woven skirts, streamlined dresses in lace and textured materials. A very feminine collection that shows the huge potential of this young generation, that is able to seduce Milan or Paris, when it mixes its own heritage with great talent. Also noteworthy was the Manthso label of designer Palesa Mokubung, feminine and casual with her in ‘shweshwe’ dresses (a printed fabric from South Africa) or her tunics in blue camaieu inspired by ‘batakari’ (men’s famous Nigerian shirts). The mother-daughter duo KikoRomeo from Kenya also delighted the audience with a menswear’s collection that highlights the dyeing techniques and the woven fabrics.  We especially love their overalls in various tones of blue and her  Bermuda shorts in woven cotton, very easy-to-wear. Highly appreciated also the surprising duo Quiteria & Georges whose AW18-19’s collection proposes luxurious items as this surprising quilted and zipped coat, allowing to choose between a bomber, a short coat or a long one. Magents, the South-African streetwear brand, left its mark with a strong message: the models (men) were wearing the new collection of bombers with “Love is safe” or “Rape is worst than murder” written on their bare chests …
Regarding the local designers, they swing between updated traditional proposals (dresses and ‘boubous’ with new styles for necklines, for example), like So Fatou of Fatima Zahra Ba and her amazing immaculate silhouettes, enhanced by gold embroideries, or the mermaid dresses embellished with plenty of rhinestone, that Senegalese people enjoy, like the ones made by designer Touty.
While the demand from the market is always an issue for many designers, attracted by the international markets, while they have a huge potential in Africa, the daywear collections showcased by Adama N’diaye, showed her awareness: we can’t seduce everybody. Her brand, Adama Paris, is also a studio that works for other brands. After a feminine collection, with monochrome items in Klein blue or orange, Adama presented her first menswear’s collection and another one with more traditional proposals, all with a fashionable twist. Items that are rooted in the tradi-trendy trend, very fashionable in Africa in the hippest circles. A special mention for her menswear ’s collection: sarouel pants with pleating effects on the hip, khaki jodhpur trousers, rosewood Bermuda shorts or ‘boubous’ with shirt sleeves: everything was received very well.

& L’Oréal Paris brings brand ambassador Fatou N’diaye to the Cannes Film Festival in tandem with red carpet protest by actresses, directors and other women in the industry, resulting in Cannes officials pledging to make gender equality a top priority.

[TASK 135: MAURITANIA]
There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 140+ Mauritanian faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever faceclaim or whichever project you desire.

Durata 92 minuti. Distribuito da Medusa Film..
DATA USCITA: 21 marzo 2019 GENERE: Commedia ANNO: 2019 REGIA: Enrico Lando ATTORI: Aldo, Jacky Ido, Angela Finocchiaro, Benjamin Stender, Fatou N’Diaye, Hassani Shapi PAESE: Italia DURATA: 92 Min DISTRIBUZIONE: Medusa Film.
