What's in your mug? Mine has * tea * MCT oil * Collagen I'm honestly not a morning person. I wake up late always and never have enough time to make a meal. My go to always has been tea and eat something once I'm moving. I decided it was time to upgrade my morning drink since sometimes I get moving and then I would be starving and getting hungry. I decided it was time to be accountable. So here I am a mug full of fat and protein. MCT oil is a medium chain triglyceride derived from coconut oil. It is tasteless saturated fat that is digested directly in the digestive tract. Saturated fats are beneficial as they are not as susceptible to damage and stabilize cell membranes. What does this mean? It all means that by drinking MCT you are fuller longer as fat takes longer to digest it helps slow digestion. Collagen is protein that makes up over 30% of our body. By consuming additional collagen it is helpful for providing healing the digestive tract, joints and support liver health. I take collagen in the form of a powder in my tea as well as drinking bone broth. By consuming collagen I support my body in numerous ways as well as providing a macro nutrient to provide fuel for my mornings before consuming food. Collagen also has been found to help improve hydrochloride acid production in our stomach which also helps you digest food better. My body thrives off of higher fat and higher protein meals.
