currently writing a noragami fic abt father and yato's birth (and mizuchi's kinda). this is the only coherent part i have rn

He carves his children out of Her memory; their names, their eyes, their smiles, their very being. The wish that brings his son into existence is long and complicated, came to be in a fit of passion and rage and loathing. For something different, a different hand than the one he was dealt, a heaven who would care for humanity, a world where apathy no longer exists and everything is possible and She is there with him. Physical proof that She existed, that his love for Her was true, that he did not love and mourn and suffer in vain, that he would not forget Her as time passed and his apathy grew like it did for other eternal beings. He wants nothing more than a god who'll listen to his prayer, and destroy heaven and earth in an effort to find Her.

His blood mixes with the earth, when he makes his offering near the sweetgrass; where he's spent years trying to find Her, where he first named Mizuchi, where he will bring another child forth.

Come morning, there's a sleeping god in his arms. Hair dark as night, freckles across his cheeks, eyes as blue as the endless sky.

In his son's every breath, he sees Her.

I’m still silently obsessing over Noragami, so I’ve been thinking about a lot of scenarios with different characters.

But one character I always go back to is Fujisaki/Father. Seeing the way that he’s almost kinda possessive over Yato, controlling his life behind the scenes, I feel like he would make a very good and terrifying yandere, especially over a reincarnated reader.

I have scoured EVERYTHING in the AO3 side of the Noragami fandom, and I’m Not Impressed. And I when I say everything, I mean everything. The only filter I used was the inclusion of Yato. I didn’t even include a language filter, which led to me clicking on a Russian fic with an English summary. Everything.

When I say I’m not impressed, I mean that there are SO MANY scenes in the manga that just…aren’t inspiring you guys for some reason? Listen, I love Yato and Yukine hurt/comfort as much as the next gal, but why aren’t we talking about how Yato almost bitch-slapped Amaterasu in front of all the other gods? Where’s THAT fic?

There are plenty of fics about Yato’s obsession with capypers, but he’s a firm believer in Santa, too—and he was right that time! He was apparently on the naughty list for centuries, but now that he’s stopped murdering people, he finally made the nice list!

And the fact that I haven’t even seen mention of this bonus page is criminal. He hates smoke to the point where it makes him gag, but has a lighter, and offers to use his hands as an ashtray…what was Father doing to him?
