Hey, everyone! Our fat positive social group Abundance Chicago is committed to providing an accessible space for our community members. We often meet outdoors where accessible seating is not always an option. Help us purchase two high weight capacity folding chairs for fat folks in our community who may need them. Thank you!

how to heal internalized fatphobia:
fuck someone who isn’t skinny
trust me when i say that worshiping the ground that they walk on will legitimately change the way you think about your own body. you see yourself in them. the stretch marks on their tummy and thighs, the curves and folds of their body, there’s truly nothing more healing than that. and they get to be fucked by someone hot too so wins all around.
this post is abt lesbian sex. men and minors dni.

To my fat community,
I’m sorry your peace is disturbed every single New Year.
I’m so sorry you have to gear up and prepare your physical body for the bombardment of people’s hatred of their bodies projected on you.
I’m sorry people in your life make you feel like your body is wrong because they hate their own.
I’m sorry that you have had to work through years of therapy because your body was a family topic for most of your early childhood life.
I’m sorry that people who built their platforms in support of body liberation exploited you and are now pathologizing fatness as a disease rather than healing their own internalized fatphobia.
I’m sorry that brands tolkenize you for social capital, yet refuse to make garments to fit your body.
I’m sorry that year after year we become the villain because we refuse to beat our asses into submission.
I’m sorry that your preciousness wasn’t honored, and your value was EVER questioned.
So on this New Year’s Day I want to remind you that you get to rest and relax. I want you to remember that your body is like the ocean it will ebb and it will flow. It will change, and it will grow, but you… The most essential part of you is a force of nature. You are the entire universe, a mega, gigantic, brilliant masterpiece. I am so beyond proud of you, and the force that you are.
May you remember your own magic this year, and be unwavering in your dedication to standing your ground, and living a full and beautiful life.
Cheers babes!
Your friend in Fatness, Anna Chapman

I identify with this so, so much. Ive been fat for a long time, and have also felt very alienated from both femininity and masculinity. One of my long-standing responses to gender identity is that “whatever came in the box is fine, I guess.” But now that my body is ready to shed some of the weight, I’m finding myself thinking about femininity in a really different way, and it is trippy as hell. I’m not sure how I feel about it.

working on a zine about the intersections of fatness, gender, and growing up online. it's a long time coming and i'm still not sure where it'll take me.

Ya know what shout out to butches who wrestle with our butchness because we don’t fit the mold in some way. Butches who aren’t physically strong or naturally caretaking because of physical disability, who need to be cared for, who can’t hold open the door for a femme. Butches with long hair, butches with big hair, butches who express their culture via their hair. Butches who’s masculinity is shaped by their culture, who’s masculinity doesn’t fit the white eurocentric mold. Fat butches, butches with curves viewed as feminine, butches who don’t have skinny, boyish builds. Butches who don’t want to be sexualized, butches on the ace spectrum. Butches who don’t have traditionally masculine interests or mannerisms or whatever. Effeminate butches. Butches who take inspo from gay men. Butches who like the occasional dress or skirt. TRANSFEM BUTCHES!!!!! And any other butches who don’t fit a certain mold!! All butches are good butches and we are all valid.
