I used and still use Michel Lauricella’s books as reference for fat and skin folds~ i often Imagine Aziraphale having this lil feather buds on his back.

This is an excellent article.
There's two wolves inside you
One of them wants to see as much fanart where Aziraphale is round and big and chubby and soft
The other one doesn't know what to make of it, since Michael is objectively not even that big, but people view his chub and exaggerate it as bigger than it actually is and it makes you feel bad for actually fat individuals and how they are perceived by society
And it's a constant struggle

you only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves
- mary oliver, wild geese
edit: nsft nude version posted here!
>edit: companion piece of the mysterious ms crowley here<
i've been so wonderfully inspired and warmed and healed by all the recent positivity here on tumblr toward soft bodies and rolling curves and glorious stretchmarks and squishy tummies that i wanted to try my hand at drawing the lovely Ms. Fell as a soft, rosy pin-up 🩷🪽
perhaps she's taking some boudoir photos for a demon she knows... maybe she just wants to indulge herself a little. either way - what bliss!
tagging @ineffable-rohese as their post the other day really kicked my inspiration into overdrive, so thank you tons for sharing your lovely words 💕 also tagging @ineffabildaddy and @foolishlovers as always for being my sweet angels

Also in a huge topic change from that last post, someone who's less sleepy than I am should draw a femme Aziraphale who is fat with utterly no chest and yet still gets to access femininity and be pretty and worthy of snakey heart eyes, because I spent two decades identifying as a fat flat-chested woman-adjacent person ("girl" when I was a teen/young adult, and then "[awkward shrug] woman I guess? let's go with that?" for a while), and there is now a post on my dash that is making me twitch
(edit to add that thin-and-flat-chested characters are just as worth being represented, it's just that I personally have a particular set of soapboxes I like to stand on, and this is my post)

We all know there's a fat erasure problem with Good Omens art and photo edits. We've gotta stop being afraid to let them have skin folds, stretch marks and soft bellies but another thing we don't talk about is how important it is leaving them their wrinkles, their eye bags and their imperfections of age. It's part of their beauty but it also signifies something incredibly important, in my opinion.
Part of what makes Crowley and Aziraphale such unique and wonderful examples of representation, is that they're not perfect, model-like young adults. Middle aged queer characters are so important because queer elders as a whole are so rare. The world's respective governments significantly failed queer folks during the AIDS crisis in the 80s and as a result, older queer couples, especially mlm or masc presenting couples aren't particularly prevalent in media, and having that example is a strange little beacon of hope.
So please, let Crowley have his forehead wrinkles and let Aziraphale keep his eye bags. Not only are they lovely, notable parts of their appearance but they symbolize something larger than just that. Let these old, alt, soft, queer man-shaped beings be just that.

I've said it before, but I'm feeling it strongly today and it bears repeating...
All of you artists and authors who lovingly depict Aziraphale's body, with its rolls and curves and softness and strength? When you show Crowley not just accepting it but loving it with passion and reverence and care and worship? Like, it's not just Aziraphale's soul that's worthy of that kind of love, but his actual flesh, the part of him that interacts with the physical, sensual world around him? When you make your audience see that body as beautiful?
It makes me feel so many things. So, so many. Like, maybe my body is worthy of that, too. Like, maybe I deserve a lover who is as enraptured with my flesh as I am with theirs. Like, maybe I shouldn't accept less than that. And like, maybe if no one else can love me that way, I can and I should.
Tagging those of you who have made me cry (in a good way) about this today alone (though there are so many more out there)... @voluptatiscausa @ineffabildaddy @chernozemm @lilpy @omens-for-ophelia

The common fan perception of Aziraphale in Ineffable Wives AUs is that she would present as pretty stereotypically feminine, corresponding to male-presenting Aziraphale’s effeminacy. However, I’d argue that that effeminacy is thematically specific to that male-presenting form, with the fact that Aziraphale revels in this visibly queer style in spite of how humans often look down on him for it being extremely relevant to how he views his life on Earth as liberation from Heaven’s strict gaze. This overtly queer presentation would immediately make him stand out to humans, precisely what he isn’t supposed to do as Heaven’s representative on Earth, but he leans into it anyway as a pure expression of the identity they try to stifle in all angels. This message would be lost if Aziraphale just leans into normative femininity when presenting as a woman. Therefore, in the case of Ineffable Wives, Aziraphale should be perceived as a butch lesbian. In this essay I will

If I see one more person draw a plus sized/midsized character skinnier than they actually are and act like that’s what they look like I’m going to blow up and take all your arts file with me
