not only langblr music resources
people irl often ask me where the heck i find the music i listen to, so i figured i might as well make a handy resource masterpost!
Radio Garden: Listen to radio stations all over the world. You can save your favourite stations, explore radio playlists, and search for stations in specific countries or cities. Love this one.
You can download the app (android and apple) or listen via your preferred browser.
Radiooooo: Lets you choose a country, a decade, and a 'genre' (slow, fast, or weird) to listen to.
You can download the app (android and apple) or listen via your preferred browser.
Every Noise At Once: Sounds overwhelming - and tbh it can be. For this reason I personally prefer to look at 'Genres by Country', although there are many other interesting playlists to look at, such as 'We Built This City On' or 'The Sounds of Places'. You can find more if you scroll all the way to the bottom.
Unfortunately, due to the layoff of the creator of this site, some features are not available anymore.
This website is entirely based on Spotify.
Charts: Charts can be tricky if you're looking for music in a specific language due to the insufferable dominance of music in english in uh a lot of countries. It is nevertheless worth checking them out. Spotify charts or Top 40 Charts are your places to go.
Tunefind: Heard a song in a film or tv show that you enjoy but can't find it in the credits? This is the website for you! I use it when shazam fails me or when I'm at the cinema and can't use it or w/e. The songs sometimes come with a description of the corresponding scene for easy checking. Just very handy to have on hand.
Local events: Check for concerts etc. in your area. I know this is not an option for everyone for a bunch of reasons, but if it is for you, visiting local concerts can be a gold mine. I got like ten whole new songs in spanish and one in rapanui from one event I went to (it was like a culture fest with singing, dancing, and poetry). Also listening to live music just connects you differently to the art imo.
Friends & Acquaintances: Last but not least; sometimes my nosiness beats my social anxiety and I simply ask people what they like to listen to. If I'm being extra confident, I ask if they listen to music in languages other than english. Go forth and ask people about their music, go go go!!
Spotify recs:
LindsayDoesLanguages. Individual language playlists + more
Shameless self promo - my own account with individual language playlists. Also on YouTube !
700+ Languages. A playlist by Matthew Bofenkamp that contains one (1) song per language, and as it says on the tin, Matthew has so far collected songs in over 700 languages. Might be a good starting point for more music in your language of interest! Accompanying g0ogle spreadsheet with youtube links here.

What type of tik toks do you think everyone would post in tyt?
SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG TO RESPOND TO THIS i knew that i had talked about this in a few posts a while ago but its been so long that i can't find it anymorejsdf
anyway just a vague summary even tho i went into more detail on those old videos
nico - rarely uses it, mostly just shows up in random comment sections which always surprises everyone. occasionally he'll be forced to make some promo vids or smth but it's always very halfhearted or joking, think conan gray's tt LMAO i also think he'd be using those filters all the time idk like the ones that generate "what godly parent are you" "what celebrity look alike" that sort of stuff, occasionally he'll also do very very long rants on 2x speed (so that makes it so fast pretty much no one can understand) and post them on priv
will - even MORE rarely uses it. was forced to make one by leo. he goes months without looking and then posts a bunch of priv videos in a week. occasionally he'll post one public vid or msth taking part in a trend and it'll go super super viral for no reason (except a million people asking where they recognize him from)
leo - most followers somehow because i do think he'd get super viral with the tiktok algorithm. constantly posting videos, mostly just him and his friends doing random stuff or audios with text being relatable/saying stupid jokes (will nico jason and piper make FREQUENT appearances here)
kayla - also super popular, def took part in the bratlympics trends but usually will do dances/trends or archery things, occasionally talking about her annoying brothers on there and also every now and then having to do an explanation video of "yes my dad is apollo and yes my other dad is darren knowles and yes my brother is best friends with nico di angelo and yes i know piper mclean pls stop asking questions about this" (nico makes a lot of appearances on her tt too)
jason - pure promotion stuff. clips from interviews and red carpets, he only posts when he's got something coming out
piper - lots of promotion stuff too, bts from photoshoots and stuff, but also her and leo prob do a bunch of dances and stuff like that. overall she, leo, and kayla do the best/are the most active on tt
apollo - he doesn't post on the actual apollo account he has but there is a delphi records account that people don't know he runs. and is active on. very frequently. he likes to comment on random small artists' posts or duet them just to watch them go viral and get attention!! also does the thing that nico does of appearing in the most random comment sections, and will comment on every single one of his kids' videos
austin - he doesn't have a tiktok account but at some point someone records a performance of his and posts it online and the audio goes viral. when kayla finds out that her brother went viral without even having the app downloaded she goes insane and will pester austin about creating an acc till the end of time but austin is very stubborn

List of programs and stuff I use
[pt: List of programs and stuff I use ./end pt]
Disclaimer: This is in no way trying to say I have the best setup of all time or anything. The point of this post is mostly to introduce people to cool things they may not know about, or a place to point to when someone asks what I use!
(Last updated: 6/28/24)
Browser
[pt: browser ./end pt]
Firefox (Windows/Linux/MacOS/Android/IOS) - Obviously I recommend Firefox above all else, especially with chromium-based browsers moving onto manifest V3.
Bitwarden (Windows/Linux/MacOS/Android/IOS) - Good password manager! Used it for years with no complaints!
AdNauseam (Firefox/Chrome) - My adblocker. It's built upon uBlock Origin and has all the same features, but it actively clicks on the ads to waste advertiser money. If that's not up your alley, uBlock Origin is fantastic too!
Wayback Machine extension (Firefox/Chrome/Safari) - Allows you to make snapshots of pages, or view old snapshots if a page isn't loading correctly!
XKit ReWritten (Firefox/Chrome) - Pretty much a must-have for Tumblr. Has a ton of features to make navigating this site much better. Full feature list here!
Discord
[pt: Discord ./end pt]
Vencord (Windows/Linux/MacOS) - A modified Discord client that adds support for plugins and themes. Basically allows you to install plugins from a massive list that improves Discord. (Technically against ToS. Basically, don't post that you're using it in big servers, and turn off your themes before sharing screenshots.)
Bunny (Android/IOS) - If you miss Vendetta for Discord, Bunny is an actively maintained fork of Vendetta! Basically the same as above, but for Android/IOS instead of desktop. Same warnings about ToS apply.
Aliucord (Android) - Miss the old Android app feel, and still want to have plugins/themes? Pretty cool but has a less impressive theme/plugin selection. Same warnings about ToS apply.
Bluecord (Android) - Another Discord modification without the new Discord UI!
Youtube
[pt: Youtube ./end pt]
Freetube (Windows/Linux/MacOS) - A desktop Youtube client with adblock and sponsorblock built in. Still in beta, but very good.
Sponsorblock (Firefox/Chrome) - Pretty much a must-have for watching Youtube these days. Automatically skips over sponsors, self-promos, interaction bait, outros, intros, etc. Highly configurable!
Dearrow (Firefox/Chrome) - Haven't used this very long but I love it. Gets rid of vague or clickbait titles/thumbnails and replaces it with descriptive and more accurate thumbnails. Also built into Freetube now!
Newpipe (Android) - Lightweight Youtube client. I haven't used it myself much but people swear by it!
ReVanced (Android) - Modded Youtube client with Sponsorblock, Return Youtube Dislike, and Youtube Premium features. Doesn't support Dearrow as of 6/25/24 :( (PLEASE BE CAREFUL INSTALLING THIS. If you don't know what you're doing, you can cause some damage!)
Spotify
[pt: spotify ./end pt]
Spicetify (Windows/Linux/MacOS) - Spotify modded client. Has adblock, themes, etc! Think Vencord, but for Spotify.
Misc.
[pt: Misc ./End pt]
Obsidian (Windows/Linux/MacOS/Android/IOS) - Basically a personal wiki for notetaking! A bit of a learning curve. Fanfic writers and worldbuilders... go feral.
Notepad++ (Windows) - A must-have text editor. Might be on more platforms but can't confirm?
Mullvad VPN (Windows/Android) - The only VPN I can 100% recommend. Cheap, fast, and really cares about your privacy. It's a little under $6 USD a month!
NVDA (Windows) - A free screenreader I use for reading large blocks of text. (Notice: I am not visually impaired to the point I rely on a screenreader to navigate my PC. I use it on occasion to read text to me because I have a hard time reading. If you're looking for advice on screenreaders for the visually impaired unfortunately I'm not a good source! Maybe check out the #visually impaired, #blind, or #accessibility?)
Syncthing (Windows/Linux/MacOS/Android) - Lets you sync folders across devices. It's especially good with Obsidian.
"Tequito, I didn't find what I wanted!"
[pt: "Tequito, I didn't find what I wanted!" ./end pt]
I'm sorry. :( If you're looking for a program I have personally mentioned using in the past, feel free to shoot me an ask or DM! Or hey... maybe try searching the letters "FMHY" and having a look around? *wink*

What’s your go to fast food meal?
this is a fun question, thank you!! i always order the same things at places once i find something i like, so this turned into an absurdly detailed response very quickly
i think my most-eaten meal lately is two double cheeseburgers and a large diet coke because the burgers are BOGO for 29c. if i’m feeling particularly frisky and fat-walleted i’ll get the bakers dozen cookie tote.
in an alternate timeline where budgets don’t exist, i’d be getting a large DQPC meal mayo and pickles only, with a large diet coke, two mcchickens add mustard no lettuce, and either a cookie tote or two of whatever the specialty pies are
i eat McDonalds every day so naturally that’s where my mind went, my go-to orders elsewhere (in order from most to least frequent visits) are:
Tim Horton’s: XL coffee 3 creams, 2 sugars, 1 caramel and a sausage egg and cheese sandwich on a biscuit, every day with very few exceptions. once every couple months i’ll do McDonalds instead and get whatever breakfast sandwich deal they have - usually $2 sausage egg and cheese mcgriddle - and a large vanilla iced coffee
i eat at one of the places listed below maybe once every couple weeks:
BK: 3 to 6 rodeo burgers add mayo add fresh onion, large diet coke, sometimes a hershey pie
Wendy’s: $5 Biggie Bag - which is a double stack, 4 nuggets, small fry, small diet coke; if i wanna splurge i’ll get a large Dave’s Double combo no lettuce no ketchup, large diet coke, medium frosty
Taco Bell: i checked the app to be able to use the actual names of the things i usually order from Taco Hell but i just learned the chicken things i used to get every time are no longer on the fucking menu so i don’t know what i like at Taco Bell anymore and i’m a little salty rn. first they took away my grilled shredded chicken burritos with extra avocado ranch away from me, now this? what the fuck
KFC: two famous bowls and at least 8 hot sauce packets for each bowl, then stop at McDonalds for a large diet coke
Popeyes: blackened chicken tenders (whatever the best meal promo is), red beans and rice, blackened ranch for dipping, something sweet but i change it up every time, large sweet tea from Popeyes or a large diet coke from McDonalds
Checker’s: two large orders of mozzarella sticks, big buford no lettuce, large diet coke, large fries, funnel cake fries or brookie
everything else i eat in a day is normally freezer food - pizza rolls, waffles, uncrustables - or ubereats delivery. i also order the exact same things from the same 3 places on rotation when i order delivery. i don’t have an adequate kitchen to cook how i want to where i live right now but it gives me something to look forward to having someday 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jinpine Radio #5
Tumblr media
Long time no Jin! Translation of the radio segment from his official YouTube channel. Original video here. Done on commission!
The livestream starts with a whole minute of nothing but clicking. Jin and Inpine’s avatars have some... modifications on them. An indication that this episode will be just a lot of fooling around. It always is, but this time it’s on purpose.
Inpine suddenly starts singing and Jin can’t hold back a laugh. Yes, they’re doing a skit again and they just ruined the surprise.
Inpine: Strolling is so fun! The air’s so good in the countryside! Aah! Such nice weather! Haaah! Oh? There’s a yellow video tape lying around in the middle of nowhere! *high-pitched screaming* Must be some pervert’s tape! Guess I’m gonna watch it using my uncle’s VCR! Now, now, now, video tape goes in! Clank, clank, clank! Press plaaay!
[some weird-ass noise effects]
Inpine: Transformation!! (T/N: the word used for “transformation” here is “henshin”, which is the title of Jin’s latest song at the time of this livestream)
[background music blasts on]
Jin: *clears throat with the most monstrous, alien-sounding voice filter ever* All right! Guess Imma go around doing evil stuff for one more day! *villain laughter*
Inpine: Ah! There you are! Sea monster Jin! Your days of wrongdoing are over!
Jin: Who’re you?!
Inpine: Ora, ora, ora! I’m a hero of justice, Inpine!
Jin: “Inpine”, you say?! Come at me with all you have!!
Inpine: Gimme back my pervy tape! Take this! Inpine puuunch!!
Jin: Stop! That hurts! S-Stop!!
Inpine: Inpine Kick!!
Jin: He got meee!
[music stops]
Inpine: Jin, Hatsune Miku. “Henshin”. You can listen to it on YouTube and NicoNico Douga—
Jin: Pffft!
Inpine: It’s out right now. Please support us.
As the skit ends, Jin does the usual greeting and introduces himself, then passes the baton to Inpine and does a little bit of promo for his song and its MV. Inpine feigns ignorance to the fact that the MV was also out, even though he was literally the one who made it along with Sayuki. Jin then announces the guests of this episode: the bassist Natsume Yuuki and the drummer Janku (Junk), who played as support musicians for “Henshin”. Jin adds that he’d also wanted to invite Saiyuki for this one, but admits that he and Inpine wouldn’t have been able to handle more than two guests at once. The figurines on Jin and Inpine’s avatars represent Natsume and Janku.
They’ll be discussing music this time around. Jin starts it out by talking about “Henshin”, giving some fun facts about its conception:
Jin had already worked with Natsume before, but this was his first time working with Janku
Jin and Natsume are actually quite close and Jin calls him “Nacchi”
It was the peak of summer when he received the proposal to write the song, so he didn’t want to do it at first (as mentioned in the previous livestream, the rainy season and summer are the worst times of the year for him)
He reconsidered it, because summer is also a time of the year when he feels like listening to fast-beat songs
He jokes that when he contacted Inpine about it, the latter “emerged from the shadows” asking, “Mister, Mister, I’m sniffing the smell of a new song in the air. You called?”
By then, Jin had already decided that he wanted insects to be the theme (specifically, insects that are omnipresent during Japanese summer, such as cicadas and moths)
After this, Jin personally contacted Natsume and Janku to play with him
Now, Jin knows that the listeners might be at loss about the guests, as it’s their first time there, so he also gives some trivia about how he met them. He got to know both of them through a common friend and they first met through an app. The name of the app was not revealed, but it’s used by musicians for remote music sessions.
Jin then asks the guests to talk about what they’d been working on recently. Natsume was doing usual bassist work. He plays for all sorts of artists and even does livestream concerts. He also makes clothes as a hobby. The first time he played with Jin was during his livestream with Peanuts-kun.
Janku’s work life is pretty much the same as Natsume’s, the only difference being the instrument he plays. He uploads his performances to social media every now and then.
Jin explains that the reason why he wanted to work with them for “Henshin” was that they were very loud players and the beat of their sound was exceptional. He describes it as a “pang-pang” kind of sound and jokes that he made the request by asking them, “Please lend me your pang-pang!”, to which they replied with, “Guess we got no choice”.
Back to the topic of the song itself, Jin dives into the production:
The making of this song was different from usual in many aspects, starting with the fact that they didn’t have lots of meetings to decide on things
No studio was used for the demo
The composition was made entirely without recordings
The sessions were held at Natsume’s and Janku’s homes
In order to test out what kind of sound would fit the song best, Janku spent a whole day on a call with Jin, playing the drum for him to listen
Once they reached the intensity that Jin wanted, Janku started working on the base melody by himself, sending samples for Jin to listen to and approve
Janku was very worried about whether or not he’d manage to make the melody sound “Jin-like”, but Jin was pretty satisfied with the result
When Jin asks Janku how he felt while working on the song, Janku says he had a lot of fun and that the sound felt rather nostalgic to him, for some reason – even though it was a newly produced melody, it felt like something he had already heard somewhere before
Jin asks Natsume the same question and he answers that, although he’s taken part in the songs of so many people, there was never one that he felt so much like playing, and asserts that that there’s something inherently grotesque about it, which Jin agrees with (because of course he would)
When Jin and Natsume listened to Janku’s drums, it was like a wake-up call for them – they realized that they were lagging behind him, and went all-out in order to catch up
Jin comments that Natsume did some pretty nasty stuff with his bass and thanked him for it (this is obviously meant to sound ambiguous because Jin just Be Like That, but he’s referring to the sound that Natsume produced with his bass, not... anything else)
Natsume played in a way that didn’t match the drums at all, on purpose
He took the liberty to do that without receiving any instructions for it, and instead of feeling disrespected, Jin thinks it was a genius move
The only thing Jin asked him to do was to “make it gross”
Jin believed that Natsume was confident he could take on the job, but in reality, Natsume was at a loss back then
When he asked Jin what he wanted specifically, all he got as an answer was a “Pleeease!”
After he got samples of Natsume’s “gross play”, Jin sent it to Inpine, who replied on LINE, “Wow! This sounds so disgusting! It’s the best thing ever!”
Finally came the time to add the guitar to the demo, but even on the previous night, Jin was very much at a loss as to how to go on about it, so he texted Natsume about it
Natsume says the message looked like Jin was saying his last words, as he decided to start out with a totally unsuspecting and not at all dramatic “It is time for me to go”
Jin explains he had no choice but give his utmost after the other two had delivered such fine performances
On the day he was supposed to play, he announced that he would do it without any clothes on, “I can’t give my all with clothes on. Sorry. It was wrong of me to try to do that before. Sorry for trying to wear clothes. I’m gonna do this butt-naked.”
Up to this point, he had been playing while seated on a chair, but this time, he “had to stand up” and began playing after screaming, “TAKE THIS!!”
While playing, he accidentally hit his guitar against the wall... thrice
This was a brand-new guitar and that was his first time using it
When he got to the outro, he went batshit without hesitation
He wanted to have recorded himself playing naked, so that he could send it to his mother with the caption, “This is the work you’ve made”
After listening to this demo, Inpine got the idea of doing a rewind in the MV
He did that before the song itself was ready, and the rewind just so happened to match it perfectly
Jin didn’t want this to be a “good” song, so to speak – he wanted the listeners to feel uncomfortable and sickened by it
He requested the sound engineers to add a “pang-pang” beat to the finished product
Jin says he really did something terrible in making that song and laughs at the fact that he hasn’t offered a single word of praise to it
Inpine jokes that even “Hatsune-san” would find the song repulsive (yes, this is meant as a compliment)
Jin writes a lot of songs in the summer because it’s “a season in which not everything is all beauty”
Inpine says that the refreshing summer that everyone has in their minds only happens for a couple hours in early morning, while the rest of the day is all about fighting against a scorching heat under the dark, dark shadows cast from the overwhelming sunlight – that’s why he decided to make the MV’s color palette jewel-toned and somber
Jin bought all sorts of effectors to produce the sound he wanted for the song, which cost him 30K yen in total, and he was in shock when checking on how much he had spent
He hoped everyone listening to the livestream would go watch the MV, as it cost him a whole lot of money
He wanted “Henshin” to sound like a time slip back to one’s old self
(T/N: This doesn’t really translate in summary format, but when they were talking about the song, there was an endless number of jokes involving the “pang-pang” thingy.)
At this point, Jin realizes that they’d been talking about music for the near entirety of the livestream. It was expected, since the two were the first musician guests of the channel, and as such, Jin was aware that it'd be fine to just talk about music, but he also wanted to have a lighthearted chit-chat. He asked Janku the day before about ideas for topics, which they couldn't decide on, so they decided to roll the dice. What they got as a result was something that, according to Janku, would’ve turned the livestream into a broadcast disaster. Jin then asks the others if they had any topics they wanted to discuss and Inpine says that’s the scariest way possible to pass the baton.
Natsume decides to answer the question first and Inpine is thankful that he’s able to take it forward from there, saying that Natsume “really is very capable”. Jin asks if he can go ahead and “eat the squid”, implying that they have snacks with them, and everyone agrees that they should eat first. While Natsume talks, there are sounds of plastic bags being ripped open in the background. These guys are a mess.
Natsume talks about a time not so long ago where he was sick and had to lie down in bed for days. He was bored out of his mind because he was allowed to do nothing but rest, so he decided to binge some anime. He wanted to watch something long and that he had never watched before, and as if on cue, he saw that Togashi Yoshihiro had created a Twitter account. This reminded him that he had actually never watched HunterxHunter, so he’d been binging it, and the day that the “Henshin” MV came out was exactly the day that he began the chimera ant arc. He felt that this was fate at work. When he saw the MV, he was like, “Whoa! That’s chimera ants right there! Inpine-san!?”
Inpine is a little embarrassed at this, because he had the feeling that they’d been making “Henshin” together all the way. He really thought that he’d been sharing with them the whole process of the video making, but in fact, the musicians were in the dark about most of it.
On the topic of the MV, Inpine admits that he doesn’t like insects and that he was put-off when finding out that insects would be the theme. He confesses that, because of this, he kind of avoided the insect element in the video, up till the latter half of it. He says that, back when he was making the video, he was driving down the street one night and had to open the window to see what was ahead of him. Turns out that what was blocking his vision was a swarm of moths. According to him, the swarm was covering the road for about 200 meters, and he couldn’t close the window in time. About three moths got inside the car, which had him shrieking like a little girl, “Nooo! Why does this kinda thing always happen to me!?”
Jin: And then you got bitten by a radioactive moth!
Inpine: Yeah, yeah, yeah! And then “Henshin”! I transformed!
Inpine says the moths were dead on his dashboard the next morning. He decided to observe them, which helped him finally grasp the concept and the feel of “Henshin”. He says that this, in a way, was his chimera ant arc. Natsume jokes that the experience might as well have broken him.
Jin says that, when writing the lyrics of “Henshin”, he thought about his kindergarten years a lot. “Henshin” is a song about the things people deem beautiful and the things they deem disgusting. People usually have weird tastes when they’re still little kids, and when Jin was in kindergarten, he was even weirder. There was a corner for hanging coats at his nursery school, and he used to sit there the whole day, just playing with the keyboard harmonica. Everyone could tell that he was one hell of a weirdo. He adds that Inpine, his first-ever friend, was just as weird. After all, he used to draw nothing but cars all the time. Jin says that this thing they used to do, throwing away their concern with what people would think of them, was his inspiration for making “Henshin”. A representation of early childhood summer, much like everything else Jin has ever made.
It is here that, at long freaking last, Jin decides to talk about the wallpaper for this livestream. He says he and Inpine made it together and everyone agrees that it’s “too damn gross”. It’s pretty obvious that it was made exclusively for that one livestream, since Natsume’s picture has moth antennas.
The group suddenly sobers up when Jin says that making this song with them was very fun and he hopes to make more with them in the future. Both Natsume and Janku are very flattered and agree to it on the spot. This heartwarming moment only lasts for a little bit, until Natsume remembers a good thing that happened recently. He starts talking about his experience going to a sauna, where he felt so refreshed that it was almost like the air he’d been breathing up to that point wasn’t real air. After he was done, he went outside, threw himself on a sunlounger and “entrusted his body to the sunlight”. According to him, it was the best feeling ever and everyone should go to a sauna at least once. The other three joke that maybe Natsume is actually an insect. Inpine says he likes sleeping inside his car in the parking lot after going to the sauna, affirming that it’s “the best way to wake up”.
The topic turns into what to do in the next livestreams, and Jin says once again that he wants to play games in the upcoming episodes. Janku says he’s pretty good at Gartic Phone and Natsume agrees that playing it with him is pretty funny. Jin says he’s seen Janku playing the game before – he saw him drawing a playground slide, except he also drew both himself and Jin sliding down on it. Natsume and Inpine lose it. Jin says he’d love to play with the three of them, plus Saiyuki. All of them agree that Saiyuki would be the strongest at it.
Time comes for them to end the livestream. Jin once again talks about making songs with these members in the future. He also talks about keeping eyes open to announcements on Twitter and asks the listeners to tell everyone they can about “Henshin”, even people sitting next to them at train stations.
The way they say goodbye in this episode is a tad... different from usual.
Jin: This has been Jin...
Inpine: ...Inpine, whose favorite food is beef tongue...
Natsume: ...Natsume Yuuki, whose f-favorite drink is Gogo no Koucha Oishii Mutou... (T/N: That’s the actual name of a bottled tea brand.)
Janku: ...and Janku, whose favorite drink is Boss’s café au lait.
Jin: That’s it!
All: That’s iiit! *whistles and weird voices* Byeee~!

How to use strategy to follow the G1:
The first tip I am going to dole out is just pay for njpwworld. It's like 7 bucks USD and you won't be fighting for your life on the high seas. When signing up, use Google translate and sign up with the site in Japanese. Once you get logged in, switch the site language to English and you are good to go. For some reason the site bugs out if you try to register in English. 🤷
Secondly, NJPW posts all of the cards and the order they are in ahead of time. You can check on the schedule page. The results page on the same website will give you just that, the results. This is going to be key so if you are fast forwarding to watch just one match, you know where to stop. If there is a change in the card for any reason, they will announce it at the very start of the show, on Twitter, and on the website.
Now, you want to get a feel for the storylines? Your best bet is to watch the backstage comments. The only people that get in-ring promo time on these tours are the winners of the main event. Everyone else gets to be unhinged backstage. There are three places you can find the promos; njpwworld, njpwworld Twitter, and Youtube. They go up pretty quickly and get subtitled, but give the translators a day to get the subs up. YouTube will have them broken up by match, Twitter is by person, and njpwworld is all of them in one long ass video. Be warned: some people might do A Bit during the whole tour. Kenta absolutely totally didn't shill his book. ELP kept eating hamburgers. Jay White had the ToJay show. You get the point. It's wild. You'll find the ones you want to watch.
Now, if you are watching live, godspeed. The air times are always on NJPW Global's Twitter account. They usually have a few time zones listed. Your best bet is to just set a clock in your clock app to Tokyo time.
If you are watching live, there are no commercial breaks so you'll need to learn where is the best place to do bio breaks. You can always just go during a match you don't care about, but there are a few key times that always will work. The first is during Naito's entrance. Second is during Shota's entrance. Both of them take at least 5 minutes to get to the ring. Another good time is leading up to the start of a Yano match. This can be hit or miss depending on his opponent, but his in-ring intro is decently long. Another good time is after a match where they fucked up the ring or removed the corner pads. It'll take the Young Lions a few minutes to put it back and you get an extra cushion of time where you can miss the entrances for the next match and be fine.
Some miscellaneous tips:
Don't fuck up your sleep for this. It'll be tempting. It's not worth it. You'll enjoy the experience better if you just put it on when you have the time after work or school. The replays go up almost immediately after it airs so if you are using the subscription, you'll have it. These are 3 hour long shows. Just watch at your pace.
The NJPW codecs are shit so the video quality will be trash on the website. There is no way around this. Sorry. You just learn to live with it.
Main events and semi-main events will always have red shoes as a ref. How will you know it's him? Well you see, he wears red shoes. (and sleeves) He's also Shota's dad, so you'll hear some drama about that.
There might be nights where wrestlers are guest commentary! It's typically a surprise who it is, but you'll get to hear some interesting voices. Generally it's the native English speakers, but it'll be interesting. If Chris Charleton is on commentary, he will do live translation. (He's the Brit)
And my final tip:
Don't post fancams, clips, gifs, or screenshots on Twitter. God works fast but TV Ashai works faster. They will take your shit down fast. It's how TDE got their og account banned. (They don't know about Tumblr and let's not alert them to it either).
Enjoy the G1!

Do you like Daredevil, The Defenders, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, the Punisher, and/or Team Red, in their comics or TV (or, in some cases, cinema!) versions?
Then, get ready for the new and improved exchange… still with a Remix Option! You can say you’re open to getting a gift created from one of your own fanworks :D
Signups for DDE’s 2023 Exchange open until September 4!
Works revealed on AO3 on Halloween, and submissions posted on Tumblr from Halloween onwards.
How? Sign up here! You will be able to give several prompts (different types of prompts, too! Music, scenarios, one word prompts…) and you will, of course, receive several prompts ^_^
Your job? Use at least one of these prompts to create at least one fanwork! You can combine several prompts in one work, use the same prompt for several works… The one hard and fast rule is to respect your giftee’s squicks!
Please get in touch with your giftee anonymously if only to let them know someone is creating something for them, and of course if you have any question :-)
What types of fanwork? Here’s what you can do: Gifsets (6 gifs min), Fanfic (1,000 words min), Fanmix (6 songs + cover min), Fanvid (1 minute long min), Graphics / Fanart, needle art, podfic.
What’s the timeline? Signups until Sep 4 (your time zone is fine), prompts sent around a day or two after that (depending on your time zone), fanworks due OCT 28 in the AO3 collection if you're using AO3, and must be submitted to Tumblr. AO3 collection revealed on Halloween! If you have a scheduling issue please get in touch with the blog, we can probably work something out ^_^ And you will be able to post on the dedicated AO3 collection earlier since it will be kept unrevealed until D-Day- aka Halloween! Yes, you can go wild on bats and zombies if that's your jam ;-)
Where to post? Tumblr, AO3 (Exchange collection name: dde2023 / Daredevil and Defenders Exchange 2023)… let us know where you’re posting so we can share it on our two blogs, DW and Tumblr. AO3 can’t host video or graphics, but you can still put them up on the Archive as long as they’re already online somewhere else like Instagram, DeviantArt, YouTube, Squidge hosting, etc. Get in touch if you have questions about posting !
Posting guidelines are here (this link should be opened in a separate browser tab, NOT the app) or here, please take the time to read them! You will find more important information there. If you do not have an AO3 account and want one, please get in touch with the blog.
**Spread the word!**

Banner ID: All four Defenders and Frank are sitting around a table strewn with red goblets, coins, and beer bottles and cans. They're playing cards and gambling. From left to right, Matt wearing a red shirt is feeling his cards with his fingertips, Jessica in black has her chin in her palm and is side-eyeing Luke, Luke i a yellow shirt is grinning down at his hand, Danny in green is looking pensively at his own, and Frank, seen in profile in his customary black shirt, is gritting his teeth. We can see the back of Foggy's lavender shirt as he's leaving the table; there's an empty chair left around the table.

Brain Curd #105
Brain Curds are lightly edited flash fiction - practically first drafts - posted daily (haven't missed one yet!) and sometimes written with the express intention of being terrible… but, you know, in an endearing way. Please like and reblog if you enjoy - the notes keep me going!
He's gonna be Frank with you. Read the rest of The Frank Program here on Tumblr!
“The Frank Program is sponsored by HelpYourself. HelpYourself is founded on the belief that everyone deserves therapy, and that it should be affordable for all. No need for insurance - just download the app and your first psycho… psycho… what does that say?” Frank showed the script to Big Mike.
“It says, ‘psychoanalysis.’ Can you even read, man?”
“Yeah, o’course I can read! There’s two vowels in a row, it’s confusin’! Now stop interrupting.” Frank cleared his throat. “All ya gotta do is, download the app and your first psycho-analysis is free with promo code FRANKPRO2024. Share your experience with therapy.”
“Uh…” Mike leaned over. “Pretty sure that part is instructions for you. You aren’t supposed to read it.”
“I know that! I said that because I wanted to ‘boost engagement.’”
“Sure you did.”
“Hmm…” Frank tapped his fingers on the table. “My experience with therapy… do ya think physical therapy counts?”
“No.”
“Well I never got none of that, neither, so I guess it don’t matter. My ex-wife always used to tell me I needed therapy for my anger issues…”
“She was right, you jackass.”
“Shut the hell, up, Mike!” Frank groaned. “How about I just make something up, huh? Like I tell a story about how therapy saved my life or some crap?”
“What, like you got locked in a looney bin?”
“Not a fucking looney bin! For fuck’s sake, Mike.”
“Hey, hey, no shame in it. Half the girls I’ve dated have been to one of those places. They’re packed with babes.”
“I’m not gonna tell everyone I’m nuts just to make the sponsor happy. You wanna do it, go right ahead.”
“I actually have been to therapy, Frank.”
“No shit? What for?”
“Like many folks our age, I grew up not treating my mental health with the concern it deserved. My dad and I didn’t talk about feelings, and my mom was too busy with my older sister and my younger brother. I was the loud one, but I was never heard.”
“That’s deep, man.”
“I’ve been a professional radio host for the last decade. I know what I’m doing. Anyway…” Mike paused to make it easier to cut down. “So when I moved out at eighteen, I was a complete disaster. I couldn’t hold down a job. Roommates always got sick of me. My relationships never lasted.”
“Probably ‘cause you kept dating psychos, Mikey.”
Big Mike ignored that comment and continued. “When I finally got a therapist and opened up to her, it was like I was clearing out the garbage from the back seat of my pickup truck. And you find the craziest junk buried in there, like fast food toys from when you were seven.”
“Really?”
“It’s a metaphor, Frankie. You gotta clear out the garbage in the back of your head so you can fit more people into your life.” Mike took the paper from Frank’s hand. “And that’s why we suggest HelpYourself, the easy way to get the help you need. Download the app today, and don’t forget that promo code FRANKPRO2024 for your free consultation and first psychoanalysis. That’s HelpYourself on the app store. And now back to The Frank Program.” Mike stopped the recording. “See, that’s how you do it.”
“I appreciate the help an’ all, but shouldn’t I say the last part?”
“What, ‘cause your name is in it?”
“Well… yeah.”
Mike waved his hand. “We’ll get it on the next one and cut it together.”
“How many we got left?”
“Seven. Today, anyway.”
“Ugh.” Frank rubbed his face and took the next paper from the table as Mike started up a new recording. “The Frank Program is sponsored by GrapeCrate, the first word in weekly fruit boxes sent right to your door…”

Hello! I've followed your blog for a long time and really appreciate what you do for giving us content. I'm sorry you've received such poor feedback lately. You're doing great, and I think the point you were making about not getting credit was very valid. I can only imagine how frustrating that must feel for you to spend a long time working on things, only to not get creditted for the work you put in.
Scrolling through your posts, I do think it was a bit harsh to refer to fanfic authors as just "banging it out" instead of taking their efforts more seriously. I think this may have been why people had a bad reaction. I truly do hope you see the value and effort that people put in... And I think that you do after reading everything, I just think that maybe some people could have interpreted your words differently.
I just wanted to send this in order to tell you that not everyone views you that way. And it is likely that it was just choice of words that made people think you were implying something else... I hope.
You don't have to respond, but I just wanted to let you know that it could be interpreted that way. I honestly probably would have interpreted it that way as well if I hadn't read your other messages. I appreciate your work otherwise!
hey anon, thank you so much for this message! full disclosure here i meant it in a typing something really fast because you were struck by inspiration -mostly because i've seen it used in promo tweets by the authors re: their works- and i did not realize at all that verb is usually used with a very negative connotation and it's akin to scribbling down something fast and without care... it's not an excuse that justifies wording it so poorly and i checked my trusted translate app after posting that so my bad, i understand why people got upset over it and i'm sincerely sorry for that
i learned something new and i will pay more attention to how i word things in the future
and i absolutely do! writing fics is something i could never do, and being friends with writers i know how hard it is and all the care and planning and the corrections and the love and the incredible amounts of time that go into writing them, especially considering that some people don't even write in their native language and that's twice as impressive. the point i was trying to make and that got kind of lost in all *that* is that both giffing and writing are wonderful things that require a great deal of patience and skill and are very time consuming, so i'd love if people treated them with the same respect ❤️
only unfortunately oftentimes this doesn't happen, and this time it wasn't even my stuff that got reposted but a friend's, who saw her gif reposted both here and on twitter in the span of 2 days and what prompted my rant in the first place

GURU! I just had the most embarrassing thing happen at work.
My crush works in the department I'm in and one of the ladies that leads our team was walking both of through a sample promo and I skipped lunch (only because I was short on time and needed to get into the meeting but planned on eating after) and my stomach let out this loud gurgle thing but it sounded like I ripped a fart! Like it came from my low gut so it was deep and oh my god it just sounded like a straight up fart and I laughed and said that I hadn't eaten, hoping they'd understand it was my stomach growling from hunger.
The lady gave me this look like she didn't believe me and my crush laughed was like, "Okay sure. If you say so."
And then before the meeting was over they both tried to make light of it to make me feel better about it and he said that everyone does it or something and I am so embarrassed. Not only did it legit sound like a farted, they didn't believe me 🤕 Now I'm so embarrassed I don't even want to eat or anything. And the fact that it was in front of my crush?? 🫥
OH NO!! Gah!!! I'm so sorry, babe :( I hate that for you. Well, I think this will be one of those moments you look back on later and can laugh about but right now it's okay to feel what you're feeling.
It's frustrating too that it wasn't even a fart. I'm so sorry :(
BUT I have a work horror story that I still cringe when I think about. Hope you don't mind me sharing it with you, maybe it'll make you feel better.
About five years ago I worked in an office setting and when I had downtime I'd write stories on my computer on a private app so nothing was ever saved to the computer or server or anything. It's never a good idea to do regardless, but you know... too late now.
Anyway, one of the partners of the firm came up behind me as I typing away bc he needed to show me something so he sat on the edge of my desk and looked right at my computer and I tried to toggle to a different screen quickly but it didn't do anything and instead stayed up in the app where the bright screen displayed a butt play sex scene I was in the midst of writing. (half tempted to go back and find the scene I was writing and share it with y'all so you can see how bad it was for someone I worked for to see)
I panicked when nothing happened and tried to cover my screen and clicked quickly with my mouse to get out of the app but by the time I'd finally been able to click out the partner stood up and turned around to leave before pausing and looking back at me he said, "I'll come back when you're not busy." I could see he was nervous. :(
He got out of there so fast and I KNOW he saw what I was writing. He would have had no reason to leave like that had I been in the middle of doing literally anything else.
He never brought it up to me but I know he saw it and I feel so embarrassed to this day. Will never get over that one.
xoxo

quick and dirty ao3 promo formatting for tumblr mobile
let’s be honest, the tumblr app kind of sucks for creating and editing text posts. also, if you try to use ao3′s share to tumblr button from mobile, it will take you to the legacy editor, which does not have community label options. not so great unless you like playing fast and loose with the rules.  so i spent some time playing around with this, and here is where the tumblr mobile site far outshines the app yet again.
log in to your tumblr account on your mobile browser (i highly recommend duckduckgo since it super fast and will also kill the ads) and continue (includes image descriptions):
Tumblr media
1. go to your fic on mobile and click the share button at the top
[IMG ID] A screenshot of a fic on AO3 mobile with the share button circled in red. [/END ID]
Tumblr media
2. it will bring up a pop up that looks like this.  copy the html text from the box.
[IMG ID] A screenshot of AO3′s sharing options with the HTML box circled in red. [/END ID]
Tumblr media
3. go to the tumblr mobile site in your browser and find the ‘create post’ button.
[IMG ID] A screenshot of tumblr’s mobile site options with the create a post button circled in red. [/END ID]
Tumblr media
4. this is what the post editor will look like. by default mobile uses the new beta post editor, which is what you want.  change the community label at the bottom if you need to.
[IMG ID] A screenshot of tumblr’s mobile browser post editor with the community label options circled in red. [/END ID]
Tumblr media
5. now go to the gear icon at the top right to see more options.  choose html from the text editor drop down box.
[IMG ID] A screenshot of tumblr’s post options with the HTML option circled in read under Text Editor. [/END ID]
Tumblr media
6. paste the html from ao3 into the text box and choose save as draft
[IMG ID] A screenshot of tumblr’s mobile HTML post editor with the save as drat option circled in red. [/END ID]
Tumblr media
7. go to your drafts after saving and the post will look like this!  not too bad, but you can make it better.
[IMG ID] A screencap of a tumblr draft coded with AO3′s HTML option. [/END ID]
Tumblr media
8. click the edit button in your draft post and adjust using tumblr’s post editor options.  you can do all sorts of stuff pretty easily with this.
[IMG ID] A screenshot of tumblr’s mobile post draft editor with the word ‘characters’ selected and made bold. [/END ID]
Tumblr media
9. save your post as a draft again to check out how it looks with your new formatting and then post it!

Want to Build a Movie Ticket Booking App Like Fandango?
Tumblr media
Historically, enjoying a film was not the effortless experience it is now. Viewers had to visit a cinema. At the venue, they frequently stood in lengthy queues to purchase tickets, particularly for blockbuster hits.
The old method offered no guarantees. It often left moviegoers empty-handed after hours of waiting. Now, a few taps on a screen can book prime spots for the latest blockbuster. It has turned a once-uncertain ritual into a swift, seamless experience.
Movie ticket booking has evolved. Fandango and BookMyShow lead this transformation, streamlining the cinema experience for all.
In 2021, the online movie ticket market was valued at $17.8 billion. It’s projected to hit $26 billion by 2027. This reflects a yearly growth of 6.52%.
Tumblr media
Now’s your chance to launch a movie ticket app. The market is ready for the next Fandango. So, act quickly while cinephiles are eager to return to theaters.

Step 2: Define App Requirements & Features

Tumblr media

Step 7: App Launch & Deployment
Prepare for Launch: Before submitting the app to the stores, create a marketing strategy. Use social media, email campaigns, and press releases.
Monitor Feedback: After launch, track user feedback and analytics. Use them to improve the user experience.
Best Privacy and Security Practices for Movie Ticket Apps
A movie ticket app must secure user data, especially payment info. Prioritizing privacy and security builds trust. It also ensures compliance with GDPR and CCPA.
Tumblr media
Data Encryption: Data travels through SSL/TLS encryption in a secure manner. Once stored, AES safeguards it at rest. This dual approach shields sensitive information throughout its lifecycle, from transmission to storage.
Secure Authentication: Secure sign-ins leverage OAuth 2.0 and Firebase Authentication. These systems use multi-factor authentication and password hashing. They protect user access with advanced security protocols.
Compliance with Privacy Regulations: We comply with GDPR and CCPA. We let users access, modify, or delete their data. We also use opt-in consent for data collection.
Secure Coding: Our dev team follows secure coding standards to prevent SQL injection and XSS. We conduct regular code reviews and penetration tests.
Regular Security Audits: We run frequent security audits and monitor the app. This addresses risks and keeps it safe.
Data Minimization: Essential data collection minimizes breach risks. Role-based access control restricts user authorization and safeguarding information. Our streamlined approach balances security and efficiency.
These practices protect user data. They create a trusted, safe environment for booking movie tickets.

Cost of Developing a Movie Ticket Booking App
An elevated cost doesn’t necessarily indicate superior quality. You might pay more for a team with a strong portfolio. Yet, if they lack the right skills for your project, you won’t get the needed quality. So, check your team’s skills and experience first. Ask if they’ve built apps like yours before. Do they have expertise in security, user experience, or cloud integration? By assessing your team’s abilities, you can ensure good quality, no matter the cost.
Ticket booking apps vary in price. A single-platform version costs $10,000 to $30,000. Multi-platform options can reach $45,000. For precise Fandango-like app estimates, consult leading mobile developers such as Flutter Agency. Costs vary based on features, design complexity, and platform choices.
Challenges of Developing a Movie Ticket Booking App
Tumblr media
Real-time Data Synchronization: Handling real-time updates for seat availability, showtimes, and bookings can be complex and requires reliable backend support.
Secure Payment Processing: Ensuring secure and fast transactions for diverse payment methods is crucial for user trust and satisfaction.
Scalability for High Traffic: We must manage server loads during peak times, like blockbuster releases. This is vital to app performance and user experience.
Compliance with Industry Regulations: It is vital to follow regional guidelines. This is true when operating in global markets with varying legal requirements. Monetization Strategies for Movie Ticket Booking Apps like Fandango
Service Fees on Ticket Sales: A service fee for booking through the platform can create a steady revenue stream.
Promotional Partnerships: Collaborating with theaters, movie distributors, and event organizers can enhance offerings and provide additional income opportunities.
In-App Advertising: Showcasing ads for upcoming movies, events, and brands allows for additional monetization without impacting user experience significantly.
Premium Features: Offering early access to tickets, special discounts, or VIP seat bookings can entice users to pay extra for enhanced experiences.
Revenue from the Food and Beverage Orders: Commission from F&B pre-orders through the app can supplement ticket sales and enhance user convenience.
