My name is Mari Bendeliani. I am a student graduate and my research fields are creative pattern cutting, experimental drawings and using body movements as expressive tools of unique artistic style. Railings and Structure ‘Feeling safe’ By Nadine El Garhy Foundation - Art and Design , pathway Fashion and Textiles Online Portfolio for more of my work:

The aim was it to apply the safe and secure structure of Railings onto a garment, giving the wearer a comfortable and secure experience. The Idea was inspired by an article I found, asking you to “Imagine what would happen if all the railings in the world would disappear.” I found the idea intriguing, to focus on a common everyday feature in our lives and emphasise its importance through fashion. My concept is meant to underline the similar qualities railings and certain clothes such as dresses and sportswear are meant to have, such as security, comfort and safety. Final Garment. (active wear in 4th row)  This two piece is meant to make the wearer feel comfortable, confident and beautiful while undergoing their exercises for the day. Final Garment (Summerly, outdoor garment, last row) This Garment is meant to be worn to an outdoor cocktail party or garden party.  The two piece follows the geometric shape of railings, I was inspired by.

Face in the crowd. Towards the end of the Raul Penaranda fashion show, the audience and some photographers stood in front of my table so I could no longer see the models to sketch. I picked out a lovely lady to draw and gave her this piece afterwards.
