“My lifestyle used to be like finishing filming one series/movie/drama and then continuing filming another one. I felt like I didn't have a chance to do anything else in my life. Now, I feel like it's so cool that when I finished filming one series/movie/drama, I have a chance to do something else that I want to do or have a chance to do projects with foreigners from different places. We might have projects with some countries soon. Pls stay tuned. Anyway, ManSuang isn't gonna end soon. It'll be a long way to go. I think that I can film series/movies/dramas whenever I want, but for other projects, will there be another chance to do it again in this life? Doing series is so easy. We just have to write the script and we could do it. But what I do now and the experience that I got are incredible.” - Apo Nattawin

The #OlympicsIsInteresting.
The torch has been passed to LA but before je ne sais quoi of Paris becomes a distant memory, let's look back at some of the most outstanding team uniforms and outfits from the participating athletes.

fall // #7
Why hello again, haven’t seen you in a while, how’s it going and so on? Been a bit twirled up in layers and matters pertaining to health and sadness, also a few upcoming projects. We’ve - at this point - abandoned the chronology of things a bit ; these photos are from a few weeks ago. But would you have guessed it? The sheets on the streets around Gongguan luckily did not belong to me. However, I was around there, when shopping for my first calligraphy supplies. I don’t know if I ever told you about this, but I received my first brush for Chinese calligraphy when I was around 10-12 years old. At the time, I had taken a keen interest in the subject, as my family had taken me to an event where someone explained how Mandarin words work. For a while, I was very hyped about it, although I never ended up using the brush. It still sits in its pristine little box at home - and I have a sneaky suspicion that it might indeed be of a higher quality when it comes to bristles, than the student quality brushes I bought in Taipei (from a very disdaining clerk, who’d have rather sold us high end goods). However, I can not express the joy it brings me, to finally practice this, and to get kind feedback from my Mandarin-speaking friends.
(I will come back for you, pretty little brush, and study your properties. Just wait for me!)
I had thought for a bit to exhibit my practice sheets when back in Europe. I have such complex and happy emotions about being able to be here and learn things I’ve only looked at from afar for so very long. However, I talked about this with my partner - it’s the idea of framing such a thing. I don’t ever want to run with something that appropriates an aspect of someone else’s culture and history, that I am not at all knowledgeable of, in comparison. So, while I find a way to frame my enthusiasm for you, here’s these words, that speak of it in the meantime.

pǔ'ěr dreams // #6
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sometimes, while drinking tea and daydreaming, I can see everything so very clearly. [While typing this sentence, my autocorrect changed 'see' to 'sew'...]
It is as if all strands of action run together in one spot for once and form a formidable tangle. And now, after the fact, I'm trying to pick up the threads that presented themselves so clearly.
In my mind, I saw a tiny studio with sewing machines, equipment and lots of colourful fabric of varying materials. I hosted workshops for groups of people on how to make hats, caps and beanies. I showed them the patterns I developed to fit different head sizes, how to trace them onto fabric, cut and pin. I saw myself on the sewing machines, demonstrating how to sew the pieces together and, step by step, assemble a piece that people can wear and proudly tell their friends, that they made it themselves.
It's been my dream for a while now, to teach people skills I care deeply about. All throughout my studies, I had moments where I passed on my knowledge, simply because I love the exchange and being of help to others. What with slowly setting up my own tiny fashion brand, I've been thinking about how to expand this study. Because of many hardships throughout my 20ies, I have never really had the possibility to imagine something like this as realistic. But then again, a boy can dream, right?
