The Life of The Prophet Muhammad(pbuh): The Battle of Badr and Afterwards
Some other important events of the 2nd Year of Hijrah
Fasting in Ramadan is Rendered Fard
Fasting in Ramadan was rendered fard one month after the qiblah was changed to the Kaaba and in the beginning of the 18th month after Hijrah, in the month of Saban. The following were stated in the verses regarding fasting:
“O ye who believe! fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you that ye may (learn) self-restraint…
Ramadan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an as a guide to mankind also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (between right and wrong).
So everyone of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spent it in fasting, but if anyone is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (should be made up) by days later.
Allah intends every facility for you He does not want to put you to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful!”
Fasting in Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam.
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah stated the following:
“Islam is based on five things: testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger, establishing the prayer (salah); paying the zakah (wealth-tax), performing the Hajj and fast in Ramadan.”
Sadaqa al-Fitr is Rendered Wajib
Toward the end of the month of Ramadan of the same year, sadaqa al-fitr was rendered wajib.
The Messenger of Allah ordered that every rich Muslim, whether young or old, free or slave, male or female, give one sa’ (1040 dirhams) of dry dates or one sa’ of barley or raisin, or one mud (half a sa’) of wheat to the poor before the prayer of eid.
The First Eid Prayer is Performed
When the crescent of Shawwal was seen and when the sun rose in the morning, the Messenger of Allah ordered Muslims to break their fasts and to go to the open praying area for the eid prayer. Then he went to the open praying area and led the eid prayer there before the khutbah (sermon) and without adhan or iqamah.
When the Messenger of Allah honored Madinah, the people of Madinah had two festival days. The Prophet said to them, “Allah gave you two better festival days: eid al-fitr (Ramadan Festival) and eid al-adha (Sacrifice Festival).”
The Messenger of Allah always performed eid prayers in the open praying area. The open praying area of Madinah was at the east gate of the city of Madinah.
The Prophet always walked to the open praying area. He went to the open praying area from one way and returned from another way. He always ate something before he set off for the prayer of eid al-fitr. He generally ate a few dates.
Zakah is Rendered Fard
Zakah was rendered fard in the 2nd year of Hijrah after the fasting of Ramadan was rendered fard and sadaqa al-fitr was rendered wajib.
Zakah is a financial kind of worshipping for rich Muslims that involves giving a certain amount of their goods, property or money to the poor every year.
Zakah is one of the five pillars of Islam. It was ordered in the Quran: (an-Nur, 56; al-Muzzammil, 20; al-Hajj, 78; al-Baqara, 110). It is mentioned in 32 places in the Quran together with prayer (salah)
The Prophet stated the following in a hadith:
“Every day in the morning, two angels come down and one of them says, ‘O my Lord! Give to those who give zakah and sadaqa and spend their property for the sake of Allah the amount that they spend’. The other one says,  ‘O my Lord! Destroy the property of those who do not give zakah or sadaqa!”
Death of Hazrat Ruqayya
Hazrat Ruqayya, the daughter of the Prophet who was married to Hazrat Uthman, became ill during the Expedition of Badr.  Hazrat Uthman stayed in Madinah to look after her upon the order of the Prophet. He could not go to Badr. When Zayd b. Haritha brought the news of the Victory of Badr to Madinah, Hazrat Ruqayya had died.
Umm Ayman washed her dead body. Hazrat Uthman led her janazah prayer and buried her in the cemetery of al-Baqi.
Hazrat Ruqayya was born after Hazrat Zaynab when the Messenger of Allah was 33 years old. She became a Muslim together with Hazrat Khadija, her mother. Then, she married Hazrat Uthman. Hazrat Uthman migrated to Abyssinia with her. When the Messenger of Allah saw that they were migrating together, he said, “After Lot (pbuh), Uthman is the first person to migrate in the way of Allah with his family.”
Abu Darda Becomes a Muslim
Abu Darda Uwaymir b. Sa’laba became a Muslim during the Expedition of Badr.
Abdullah b. Rawaha (may Allah be pleased with him) was an intimate friend of Abu Darda. One day, Abdullah took an adze and broke the idol in Abu Darda’s house. When Abu Darda returned home, his wife told him about it. Abu Darda started to think and said to himself, “If this idol had been useful, it would have protected itself!” Then, he went to the Prophet to become a Muslim.
When Abdullah b. Rawaha saw him coming from a distance, he said, “O Messenger of Allah! Abu Darda is coming. He is probably coming here to see us!”
The Messenger of Allah said, “He is coming here to become a Muslim. My Lord had informed me beforehand that Abu Darda would be a Muslim!”
When Abu Darda went to the presence of the Prophet, he became a Muslim. His family had embraced Islam before him.
Hazrat Fatima Marries Hazrat Ali
Hazrat Fatima married Hazrat Ali five months after the Messenger of Allah honored Madinah in the month of Rajab. Their wedding was in the month of Dhul-Hijjah in the 2nd year of Hijrah after the Battle of Badr.
Hazrat Fatima was the youngest and his most beloved daughter. Whenever the Prophet returned from a battle or expedition, he went to the mosque first to perform a prayer of two rak’ahs and then he went to Hazrat Fatima; after that, he went to his wives.
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates:
“I have never seen anyone whose words and speech resemble those of the Messenger of Allah. When Fatima came, the Messenger of Allah would welcome her with compassion and greet her by saying, “Welcome!” I have never seen anyone more straightforward than Fatima.”
The walking style of Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) resembled that of the Prophet a lot.
Once, Hazrat Aisha was asked, “Who was the most beloved person for the Prophet?”
Hazrat Aisha answered, “Fatima”
When she was asked, “Who was the most beloved man for the Prophet?”, she answered, “Fatima’s husband.
The Prophet Sends Someone to Makkah to Bring his Daughter Hazrat Zaynab
Among the captives of Badr was Abu As b. Rabi, the husband of Hazrat Zaynab and the son-in-law of the Prophet. As we mentioned under the topic of the captives of the Battle of Badr, Abu As went to Makkah when he was released. Abu As had prevented Hazrat Zaynab from migrating before; however, this time he let her go.
The Messenger of Allah sent Zayd b. Haritha and somebody from Ansar to Makkah a month or less than a month after the Battle of Badr and they brought Hazrat Zaynab.
Death of Uthman b. Maz’un, from Muhajir Muslims
He is the first muhajir Muslim buried in the cemetery of al-Baqi.
The first Eid al-Adha Prayer is Performed
The Messenger of Allah reached Madinah on the ninth of the month Dhul-Hijjah from the Expedition of Sawiq. The next day, that is, the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, he went to the open praying area with Muslims. He led the two-rak’ah eid al-adha prayer without adhan or iqamah. He recited a sermon after the prayer. In the sermon, he ordered Muslims to sacrifice animals. He himself sacrificed two animals. While slaughtering one of the fleshy white rams, he said,   “O Allah! This is on behalf of my ummah, who witness your oneness and what came to me from you.” While slaughtering the second one, he said, “O Allah! This is for Muhammad and the household of Mu¬hammad. He himself, his household and the poor ate from the meat of the second ram.
That was the first eid al-adha in Islam!

Why do we say tasbihat 33 times? What are the narrations regarding the issue?
There are keys that fit material locks; some secrets that are like spiritual locks have some appropriate keys that fit them.
If you do not use the key that fits the lock, you cannot be successful. For instance, your email account has a password. If you type in a wrong password, you cannot access your mailbox. A certain number of tasbihat or salawat needs to be said for some divine secrets to be revealed. If this number is ignored deliberately, it is impossible to attain that divine secret. However, if someone says tasbihat a wrong number of times by mistake, the mercy of Allah Almighty will accept it. It is something different.
How to do tasbihat and what duas (supplications) and tasbihat to read were determined by the Prophet (pbuh) himself. According to a narration from Thawban, when the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) finished a prayer (salah), he would ask for forgiveness (istighfar) by saying , “Astaghfirullah”.1 It is possible to say this istighfar as follows: “Astaghfirullaha’l-azima’l-karima’lladhi la ilaha illa hu, al-hayya’l-qayyuma wa atubu ilayh”.
After fard and sunnah prayers are performed, first ayat al-kursiyy, the chapters of al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq and an-Nas are read; after that, “Subhanallah” is said 33 times, “Alhamdulillah” 33 times and “Allahu Akbar” 33 times. Then, “La ilaha illallahu wahdahu...” is read and dua (prayer) is done.
In hadith and fiqh books, blowing onto the prayer beads or one's body after reading ayat al-kursiyy is not mentioned. However, before the Messenger of Allah went to bed, he would read the chapters mentioned above and blow into his palms. Then, he would wipe the parts of the body that he could reach with his palms. However, something like that is not in question while saying tasbihat.
As it is known, tasbihat after prayers are usually counted by prayer beads. Thus, the probability of saying more or fewer words of dhikr is eliminated. However, prayer beads were not used during the Era of Bliss. The Prophet (pbuh) counted dhikr words by using the knuckles of his right hand. 2 He did not prohibit those who used pebbles and date seeds to count dhikr words from using them.
Hz. Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas, who is one of the ten Companions who were given the glad tiding of being a person of Paradise, said he went together with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) to a woman. They saw the women making dhikr using the date seeds or pebbles in front of her but the Messenger of Allah did not interfere.3
This attitude of the Prophet (pbuh) is included in "sunnah taqriri", which is a type of sunnah. It shows that he regarded this deed appropriate. On the other hand, it is narrated that Hz. Abu Hurayra made knots on a string and used it (Abu Nuaym, Hilya I/383) that Abu Safiyya, who was a muhajir, used seeds (Isaba IV/109; Ibn Sa’d VII/60) and that Sa’d b. Abi Waqqas used pebbles to make dhikr (Ibn Sa’d III/143).
The prayer beads used today became common only in the fifth century of the Migration.
Abdullah bin Amr said,
“I saw the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) count dhikr words by using the knuckles of his right hand.”4
It is more virtuous to count dhikr words by using the hands if one can count them correctly. However, those who wish may use 33 or 99 prayer beads. There is no difference between holding the prayer beads above or below the level of the navel.
As for the number of the dhikr words to be said, there are various narrations regarding the issue. Some of them say the number of times dhikr words are to be said is 11 while others say it is 25; yet others say it is 10. 5 However, the hadiths stating that the number of the dhikr words to be said is 33 are more than the others. Hadith and fiqh scholars like Qadi Iyad preferred these narrations and regarded it appropriate to act accordingly.
In the explanations of the hadiths regarding the issue, some information is given about the wisdom behind those numbers. For instance, Imam Ayni states the following regarding the issue:
“The reason why the number of dhikr is advised to be 33 is this: When it is multiplied by three, the product is ninety-nine. When a person makes dhikr 99 times, he is regarded to have mentioned Allah with His ninety-nine names.”
As for the issue whether those who glorified or praised Allah more or fewer times than the numbers stated in the hadiths will gain the rewards promised there, some scholars say the extra numbers will not eliminate the rewards while others say, “if dhikr is deliberately made more or fewer times than the number stated in the hadiths, the promised rewards will not be obtained. For, these numbers have a wisdom and particularity; if the number is decreased or increased, the wisdom and particularity will disappear.”
Therefore, it is necessary to try to say tasbihat no fewer than 33 times; if a person says them more than 33 times, he does not have to worry that the reward and wisdom will disappear. For, it is mustahab to utter tasbihat in ruku' and sajdah from 3 to 7 times. What is meant to say and advise here is to say 3 times but it is mustahab and permissible to say 5 and 7 times, too.
It is possible to perform tasbihat after prayers alone or in congregation.
After the prayers performed in congregation, these tasbihat and duas are done together in congregation with the participation of the muezzin, which is better in terms of virtue and more appropriate.
As for the issue whether it exists in sunnah to do tasbihat in congregation, the Messenger of Allah always encouraged dhikr, dua and worshipping in congregation; when he saw his Companions talking, making dhikr and worshipping in congregation, he would be pleased and sometimes give them glad tidings.
According to the narration of Hz. Muawiya,
The Prophet (pbuh) once saw some of his Companions sitting in the form of a circle. He approached them and asked,
“Why did you come here and sit like this?”
They said, “We sat here in order to mention Allah, who granted us a religion like Islam and who tested us through this way, and to praise Him.”
The Prophet asked them again. After receiving an answer with a vow from them, the Prophet said,
“Do not think that I made you vow to blame you. However, Jibril came to me and told me that Allah, who is Mighty and Glorious, was proud of you in the presence of the angels.”6
As it is seen, the Prophet praised the believers who came together and made dhikr and tasbih in an occasion though it was not after a prayer. Tasbihat after prayer was not made in congregation during the time of the Prophet (pbuh) but beginning from the time of mujtahid imams, it was accepted in principle that it would be better to do tasbihat in congregation so that everybody who prayed would do it easily and that they would not be deprived of the reward of dhikr.
After the prayers performed in congregation, it is mustahab for the congregation to change their places and perform the sunnah prayer and do tasbihat in a different place in the mosque. According to a narration mentioned in Ibn Abidin, it is said to be sunnah to do so. Breaking the ranks after the prayers is in question for all five daily prayers. No difference is in question for the morning and afternoon prayers.
The reason why the ranks are broken after the fard prayer is not to cause the people who came to mosque late to think that the fard prayer is still being performed. It is mustahab to perform sunnah prayers by changing one's place after the prayers that are performed in congregation. It is narrated that the prayer rugs and the ground will witness for those who perform prayers. Therefore, the more a person prostrates, the more places will witness for him. For, in the hereafter, all of the beings are conscious and they will speak when Allah wishes.
If it is not possible to perform the sunnah prayer and dua in a different place, there are also views stating that it is permissible to complete them in the same place. 7

Racisme, islam, manipulations...
Tumblr media

Understanding the Significance of Fasting Days in Islam
Fasting is an essential part of the Islamic faith, with numerous days throughout the year set aside for this important practice. For Muslims, fasting is not just about abstaining from food and drink but also about strengthening their relationship with God, developing self-discipline, and gaining empathy for those in need. The fasting days in Islam carry deep spiritual and physical significance, allowing Muslims to purify their hearts and souls.
The Obligatory Fasting of Ramadan
The most well-known and significant fasting period in Islam is during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, and during this month, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. This fast includes abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs, such as smoking or marital relations, during daylight hours.
Ramadan is a time of intense reflection, prayer, and community. Muslims believe that the Quran was revealed during this month, making it especially sacred. The fast serves as an opportunity for spiritual renewal, allowing individuals to focus on their faith and cultivate a stronger relationship with God. The nightly Taraweeh prayers are held during Ramadan, and Muslims often engage in increased charity, helping those who are less fortunate.
The fast during Ramadan is obligatory for all adult Muslims, though there are exemptions. Children, the elderly, pregnant or nursing women, travelers, and those who are ill are typically exempt from fasting but can make up the fast at a later date when they are able. Ramadan lasts for 29 or 30 days, depending on the sighting of the moon, and culminates in the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, a festival of joy and gratitude.
The Voluntary Fasting Days
In addition to Ramadan, there are several other days throughout the year when fasting is highly recommended or considered voluntary. These fasting days in Islam are an excellent way for Muslims to seek additional rewards and blessings.
Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. These fasts are not obligatory but are highly encouraged. They serve as an opportunity for Muslims to gain additional spiritual rewards, as it is believed that good deeds are presented to God on these days.
The White Days (Ayyam al-Beedh): These are the 13th, 14th, and 15th days of each Islamic month. Fasting on these days is a Sunnah, meaning it is a recommended practice but not an obligation. It is believed that fasting on these days brings special rewards and helps purify the soul.
The Day of Arafah: This is one of the most significant days in the Islamic calendar, falling on the 9th day of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah. It is the day when millions of Muslims gather at the plain of Arafah in Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj pilgrimage. For those who are not performing Hajj, fasting on this day is highly recommended. It is believed that fasting on the Day of Arafah can expiate sins of the previous year and the coming year.
The Day of Ashura: Falling on the 10th of Muharram, Ashura is another important day of fasting. It commemorates several historical events in Islam, including the rescue of the Prophet Musa (Moses) and his followers from Pharaoh. It is also the day when the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, Imam Hussein, was martyred in Karbala. Fasting on Ashura is a way of remembering these events and seeking blessings from God.
The Six Days of Shawwal: After Ramadan, Muslims are encouraged to fast six additional days during the month of Shawwal, the month that follows Ramadan. Fasting these six days, along with the Ramadan fast, is believed to bring the reward of fasting for an entire year. These fasts can be completed at any time during the month, and they provide an opportunity to maintain the spiritual benefits gained during Ramadan.
The Spiritual and Physical Benefits of Fasting
Fasting is not only a way to fulfill a religious obligation but also a practice with numerous benefits. Spiritually, fasting helps Muslims grow closer to God by creating a sense of dependence on Him. It encourages self-reflection, humility, and gratitude for the blessings one has in life.
Fasting also provides a way to develop self-discipline. By refraining from basic desires such as eating and drinking, Muslims learn to control their impulses and redirect their focus towards higher goals, such as charity, worship, and personal growth.
Physically, fasting allows the body to rest and detoxify. Although fasting may seem challenging, many find it to be a rejuvenating experience that provides clarity and a sense of calm. It is a chance to reset one’s habits, eat mindfully, and focus on what truly matters.
The Importance of Learning About Fasting
Understanding the true meaning of fasting and its significance in Islam can help Muslims gain a deeper appreciation for this practice. Learning about the spiritual and historical background of fasting days in Islam can strengthen one’s connection to the faith. Websites like Shaykhi offer valuable resources for those interested in learning more about Islamic practices, including fasting and the Arabic language. Whether you're seeking knowledge about Quranic teachings, the intricacies of fasting, or guidance on how to deepen your understanding of Islam, Shaykhi provides a rich platform for your learning journey.
Conclusion
Fasting is much more than just a physical act in Islam; it is a deeply spiritual practice that allows Muslims to strengthen their faith and relationship with God. From the obligatory fasting during Ramadan to the voluntary fasts on significant days like Arafah and Ashura, each fasting day in Islam serves as an opportunity for spiritual growth, self-discipline, and connection to the community. By fasting with sincerity and understanding, Muslims can cultivate empathy, gratitude, and mindfulness, making it an essential practice for Muslims seeking closeness to God.

indossava mutandine celesti e gliele levai
riportando in vita i morti, magnifico
veramente magnifico
come mangiare olive fredde alle 3 del mattino
con mezza città in fiamme)

tenetevi le vostre vergini voi giovani
date a me le calde vecchie coi tacchi altri

Note
different childhood situation, but I relate heavy to this. i am an only child who only had a mother until she got a husband when I was 16. I grew up with undiagnosed autism and was diagnosed with stpd later in life (pretty different but similar enough to bpd, I think). take this advice with a grain of salt because I'm in a pit right now.
leaving the house changed everything for me, honestly. i kind of just forced myself to stop taking shit from people long enough to allow myself to try to be ok. that is much easier said than done, of course. it feels like what would have helped most at the time was friends, but i was accidentally a bully, which I have now wholly embraced and become self aware of. like, im not mean. i have so much love and passion for people. but the things i say can be so blunt i can practically feel myself try to catch my words before they come out of my mouth. for example, on my first date with my boyfriend, i said "you don't smell very good do you?" but what i meant was that his nose must suck because i farded really bad in the car and he wasn't bothered. that's a bad example, because i have said more hurtful things. Intentionally passive aggressive or accidental, i can be a jerk. my filter has improved over the years, though. wow i have typed so much so i will just turn on anon in case this is fucking stupid.
Tldr; just...there might be something "wrong" with you according to some people but its a loveable monster, I promise. Remember to apologize when you fuck up, explain your intentions, don't stop loving, and just enjoy being that bitch. you know where your heart's at, right?
!!!!! this is honestly very nice to hear that you've had a similar experience with these kinds of things! like for me, leaving my school was definitely a huge turning point like leaving home was for you. I was so suicidal and dissociative and miserable then, and the first couple years after all that shit was spent just learning how to function with a brain that wasn't checked out/wanting to die 24/7, because despite the new personality disorder and newly realized asd, SO MUCH of the horrible mental health stuff attributed to that hs environment just disappeared when i left!
but now that i'm past that stage it's like. oh wait i haven't had consistent friends since high school i don't remember how to do that! i have to learn how to exist outside of an institution that forced me into nightmare situations 8 hours a day 5 days a week, to realize that actually i need to ask for help much more than i realize and to take help that's freely given without feeling guilty.
it's such a learning curve, but i've made myself meek and quiet and palatable my whole life because i thought that's how i needed to be in order to be loved but. i dont want to be loved like that, i want people to love the whole, raw, unfiltered me! i need to advocate for myself medically, socially, financially. to finally not be a willing doormat and instead an active participant in my own life.
shit's hard, but i'm so fucking proud of you for getting where you are right now and for continuing to work on yourself, and i'm proud of myself for those things too. practice, practice, practice
