A Siren's Lover

A story of Iris and Eris, human and siren lovers. I've been thinking of expanding upon them, so feedback would be appreciated! :)

The water glistened with the light of a thousand jewels as the moon's light shimmered and shifted, fractured face dancing smoothly along the waves. A lone head of inky black billowed around a pale, ghostly face. A flick and the inky mass returned once more under the surface. The water rippled in the wake, but silent was the visitor, and faster still they swam. The inky pool once more broke the surface near shore; narrowed azure eyes gleaming under the moon's watchful eye - a silent witness, a silent protector. A humming filled the night's cool air - the eyes calmed, purring sounds echoed through the water.

Soft blue lace flitted around equally pale legs as another figure danced near the shore, a sweet song escaping the blondes lips. Equally enchanting blue eyes locked to their darker counterparts - prey and predator - a smile blossomed. She ran to the water, excitement evident to its only witness. She clutched the skirt of her dress, water lapping at her bare legs, shoes long abandoned near the path. The young woman climbed on top of the rocky shore, careful not to slip, and sat down, legs hanging over the edge. Ripples were cast out as her toes skimmed the water, tranquil, serene. Ripples were casted back, a silent, longing call. The surface broke once more - there she was - her dark haired companion. She pulled herself next to her laced woman.

“Hello.” Still, serene, a soft smile grew on the sopping wet figure as they nodded in mute greeting. They never spoke, responding only in nods or clicks - the blue woman didn’t mind. Instead of further conversation, she pulled out a jeweled bracelet. Tiny shimmers from the jewels caught the attention of the other. Carefully she grasped her companion's wrist and pulled her closer to examine the glittering stones. A low, pleased hum echoed from the dark haired woman - a siren, a predator - the smile widened, sharp teeth on display. “I’m glad you like it, it is for you after all.” A tilt of the head was all she needed to clasp the bracelet around her companion's wrist. “I had my mother bewitch it, that way it won’t fall apart.” The blonde explained with a happy beam - the other staring at the jeweled metal.

A clawed hand reached out and gently tapped against a pale cheek, “You’re welcome.” They never truly needed words to understand each other, but Iris spoke anyway - Eris had always loved her voice. A soft lullaby to each other, calming and safe. Iris lightly tapped the finger and smiled brightly at Eris.

The two women had known of the other for differing amounts of time. Eris had watched over Iris longer than she cared to admit. A siren - a predator - watching over a frail human, a human who’s heart knew no bounds. Eris remembered the first day she met the pale girl face to face. She had been crying, yet to Eris she still shown like a ray of starlight and sunshine. She had a wound, blood flowed relentlessly - a wound she had acquired while running from home. That day Eris revealed herself, that day Eris bonded herself to Iris, that day, two souls became one.

Iris kept coming back even after learning the truth of Eris - the dark truth of what became of her father - she never minded. And she never minded the silence, she understood. A siren's voice was a deadly weapon, one Eris never wished to use against her companion, even if she wasn’t attempting to deceive her. They communicated in other ways, ways that others could never understand. But they did, they understood and that was enough.

A kiss was laid upon the darkened, sea-ladened hand - the closest to a kiss the two women could share. Not for the disgust of Iris’s village, but for the deadly consequences. One kiss laid on a mortal from a siren was a silent death sentence - their soul no longer their own - a transfer of breath, a deadly kiss. The two women mourned the loss of opportunity, but they learned and adapted, becoming content and creative with their affections. Small kisses and nips became commonplace after that - comforting intimacy.

The two stayed in a loving embrace until Iris was forced to return home as the sun began to rise beyond the horizon. The lovers parted reluctantly, separating only to come back together the first chance they had. For now the lovers returned to their houses and dreamt of their homes. One day the ocean would receive a new child - giggling and swimming after her much faster companion in a loving race.

theres two seasons and they both have pretty diff plots so ill describe them separately . season one is about four dads from our world who get transported into the forgotten realms on their way to a kids soccer game, and have to rescue their children who have been taken away by strange figures. the dads include henry oak (crunchy nature dad, very well intended but a huge pushover with his rowdy twin boys lark and sparrow), darryl wilson (VERY archetypal football lover type dad, his lack of emotional vulnerability with his son grant causes issues at times), glenn close (rock and roller dad, more of a friend to his son nick than a dad to the degree of being actively neglectful), and ron stampler (new stepdad to terry jr and Incredibly emotionally distant, hes like a sad little wet cat). through trying to get their kids back, their kids are fundamentally changed and traumatized throughout, and the themes of generational trauma are carried over into ......

season two!!!! which is currently running right now (: this features the grandkids of the original dads who are fighting to fix the post apocalyptic world that was caused at the end of season one, wont say how, and either help or destroy the eldritch monster looming over the world. the teens in this season include normal oak-swallows-garcia (a peppy school mascot teen who is obsessed w school spirit and is broadly disliked at his school. he's the son of sparrow oak-garcia (or possibly lark, its complicated) and strives for sparrow to be proud of him), lincoln li-wilson (a very stressed teen who ADORES soccer, almost as much as he loves his somewhat overprotective dads, one of which is grant), taylor swift (an anime-loving survivalist teen who is THE coolest kid in school . he doesnt know where his dad, nick close, is), and scary marlowe (a goth-punk girl whose entire life is about being the most sad and edgy and dreary girl alive . she used to be a pretty peppy soccer kid, until her stepdad (who she thinks is The Worst) terry jr entered the picture).

its a really fun podcast!!!! imo both seasons are Very good - some people strongly prefer one over the other, but i think theyre both really enjoyable (: but basically for the gist of it . first season is a quest to find these lost kids in a fantasyw orld, season two is more of a monster of the week type deal where the teens go to combat different monsters, though both scenes include having to find these things called "anchors" which are basically embodiments of certain emotions or relationships . however its not really ..... ABOUT that when you get into the themes - its more about family, and how generational trauma keeps moving forwards, and the ways parent-child relationships can strain and break and rebuild and Not rebuild.

Instead, he busies himself with taking care of the coven, his work with his security business, and protecting his daughter. In his eyes most supernatural creatures are not to be trusted, but he has recently created an alliance with a particular nest of vampires. While he doesn't trust these vampires, he believes that they will not only lead him to his wife's killer, but that their protection will keep the coven and by default his daughter safe as well, since he could not.

So I am pretty open with this. I just want someone to be Apollo's apartment neighbour and know about his life a bit. Like they have keys to each others places and drop by whenever kind of friends. She takes no shit and doesn't filter her thoughts all too much. Will call people out on their bullshit as she sees it. Her and Apollo get on like a house on fire, sometimes he needs someone there to call him an idiot and likewise. He's happy to share personal details about his life, she can do the same if she dates around. Apollo is the least jealous person in the universe.

They've been friends/neighbours for years now, you can decide how many! Apollo moved into the apartment 6 years ago, just after he'd separated with his kids mom (Hannah - npc) and she was shredding him to pieces in court. The divorce was ugly and drawn out, 1yr into living at that apartment his divorced was finalized and he's been single ever since.

His kid stays 1 weekend every month. Aria turned 9 this year and she's Apollos diamond in all the shit he's had with her mom. He never goes into detail about how bad Hannah was, not even to his neighbour. It was enough to put him off pursuing relationships for 5 years and learn to love himself a bit more. She's probably been a huge help with this process with him too. Apollo would do anything to help her out. She'd definitely know about his gift. He'd probably use it in front of her just to mess with her XD

There are definite suspicions rising from Smithers, the over-protective butler of the Ainsworth family, but her  real identity still has yet to be sniffed out.  

Catalina is the newly-wed wife of Raymond, step-mother to Thea and Theo, and aunt to Joaquin. To say the least, she's an extremely busy woman, especially with her employment as COO of Ainsworth Corp. She's never exactly been worried about her real identity, and unlike Aviana, Catalina married Raymond out of love.  Now that she's officially part of the family according to everyone but Thea, she's trying to put her past behind her and win the favour of her step-daughter. With Raymond's ex-wife back in town though, tensions are definitely building up. Not only between her and Raymond, but her and Smithers too. Not to mention the constant feud between her and Aviana.
