OBL Preview - Crystal Braves
Record: 27W - 19L - 4T
League: 4th, Fantasy Division: 2nd
Playoffs: Won Championship
Nothing came easy for the Crystal Braves in their first season with the Outlandish Baseball League. Their longest winning streak all season was just 4 games. Between their 4 ties and 19 one-run games, nearly half of their games were too close for comfort. And yet, they triumphed, winning the championship series against the Fire Emblems 4 games to 2.
Three players in particular stood out from the rest for the Braves. First was team captain Alphinaud Leveilleur: as a starting pitcher, Alphinaud won 8 of his starts this season, though he did end up picking up 1 loss to blemish his otherwise stellar record.
Second was relief pitcher Coultenet Dailebaure, who consistently pitched well for the team in relief. The Braves would end up winning 8 close games that Coultenet pitched in, as he totaled 2 wins of his own as well as 6 saves, which led the league.
Third was infielder Hien Rijin, who was in the top 10 of the league in Home Runs and Runs Batted in. His 26 RBIs, in paricular, were instrumental to the team's success. Despite not even having the most Home Runs on the team (that would be Estinien Varlineau's 11), Hien's timely at-bats were a reliable source of offense for the team.
Now, it's time to turn the page to next season. No one will be surprised by the Crystal Braves this year, and the target is firmly affixed to their back. Will Alphinaud and the rest of the Braves manage to win another championship? Or will the rest of the league catch up with them?

Fantasy Baseball 2020 - Potential NL Designated Hitters Who Could Be Viable Draft/Waiver Options
Fantasy Baseball 2020 â Potential NL Designated Hitters Who Could Be Viable Draft/Waiver Options
The most interesting change to the new MLB season has got to the inclusion of a universal designated hitter. Not only does it give National League managers a whole lot more roster relief and flexibility, it opens the door to a whirlwind of possibilities and surprises for many players whoâd otherwise be out of very many playing opportunities.Â
In fantasy, this development is a huge deal in thatâŚ

Fantasy Baseball Keepers, Fantasy Keepers, Keepers, Outfielders
Fantasy Baseball Keepers, Fantasy Keepers, Keepers, Outfielders
Hey, if itâs a day that ends in âyâ then it is a good talk to talk about fantasy baseball. This week we are shining a light on left fielders in another edition of the 2023 Top Keepers series. đž âşâşâş DOWNLOAD FILE đĽđĽđĽđĽđĽ Opening day is almost here, so it's time to prepare for your draft. Find position-by-position rankings, sleepers, top prospects, and draft. Fantasy Baseball Catcher Rankings â NL Only ; 1. Will Smith LAD () ; 2. Realmuto PHI () ; 3. Daulton Varsho ARI () ; 4. Willson Contreras CHC () ; 5. All the rankings, projections, cheat sheets, strategy and analysis you need for the fantasy baseball season. It's fantasy baseball draft season, and what better way to get ready than with our overall rankings. 9 Don't worry about the new uniform or the lack of a position, Nelson Cruz should still hammer plenty of baseballs over the fence to justify a roster spot. So we finish up our fantasy baseball rankings with my top and some change players. Originally it was an even , but I wanted to add a few names to be sure they were on your radar, and we'll talk about a couple of them shortly. But you should know that I generally downgraded relief pitchers RPs in my overall rankings. If you look at some of the biggest "fallers," the top eight are all relievers. I typically don't pay for saves, and this season's RPs might be one of the shakier crops we've had in a while. I'm not too concerned about him being a "pure DH" because when you hit the ball as well as he does, I don't need the position flexibility. Give him at least ABs, and we can expect a decent average and 30 round-trippers. Another hitter I have higher is a player that seems to be forgotten, Cavan Biggio. With the loaded Blue Jays lineup, he will bat lower in the order. However, he also is one of the few left-handed bats in that lineup. Even I have him still outside of the first 20 rounds. One last player that I purposefully added back into my rankings is Christian Walker. Walker is a victim of recency bias, as he had a pretty miserable season, but some of that can be attributed to his multiple oblique injuries. I will remind you, however, that in he saw over ABs and hit 29 homers with a. Is he going to do that again? I honestly don't know. But given his ADP is around and he is having a great spring having hit safely in each of his four games so far , he is someone to keep on your radar. Got a fantasy sports question or thought? Ootp baseball 2016

#Ootp baseball 2016 full
#Ootp baseball 2016 full
The realism that goes into MLB Manager 2016 is pretty extraordinary, with a full financial system, minor league rosters (though not full systems as with its PC counterpart) and all the bells and whistles youâd expect from an OOTP game. You can also slow things down to a pitch by pitch basis or auto-sim to any point in the game if desired. The action is relayed via a text-based play by play announcer who fills you in on whatâs going on in the style of a radio broadcaster, with some fun flavor bits thrown in from time to time. With the default option to only play out the key pitch of any at-bat, one game of baseball can be simulated in about 15 minutes, give or take, while still giving you control over any strategic option available to a real life manager at any time. A quick menu allows you to see rosters, the box score and more at any time. Hitters have their contact and power ratings displayed, which turn to baserunning abilities should they reach safely. The in-game sim style will be familiar to anyone whoâs played an OOTP title before, with an overview of the diamond and the names and key defensive ratings for the players in the field. Donât like the DH or the one-game wild card round? One tap can fix those for you. And you can easily change any major rule during league setup to your liking. You can jump right in and take control of a team in the upcoming real life season, create whole fantasy leagues with auto-generated teams and players or dive into a historical season from any era of baseball history (the game comes with three, with others available as in-app purchases). Itâs great to see them back this season.ÄŞs with all of the companyâs games, MLB Manager 2016 offers a tremendous amount of flexibility with the way you want to simulate the sport. Having not only every current MLB team name and logo but historical logos as well adds an immersion factor that canât be duplicated in any other way. To be fair, nothing OOTP did for this season was going to be as momentous as getting the Major League Baseball license, which it did for 2015. OOTP Developments took a conservative path with MLB Manager 2016, and while itâs still the best baseball sim on mobile, itâs similar enough to its predecessor to leave you wanting just a bit more. OBL Preview - Baron Red Wings
Record: 30W - 17L - 3T
League: 1st, Fantasy Division: 1st
The best team in the Outlandish Baseball League during the season, the Baron Red Wings had everything going for them after their rebranding from the Fantasy Alliance in Season 1. Their defense and pitching, led by the stellar Terra Branford, held opponents to a league low 2.1 runs per game, beating the next best team by 0.54: an extra 27 runs during the season.
Terra in particular was incredible, and it was just a continuation of what she showed in Season 1. After finishing the season as the best pitcher with at least 1 inning per game despite being a relief pitcher, she was moved into a starting role in Season 2. Terra proceeded to become the best pitcher in the league again, allowing less than 1 run a game, and never losing a game, both of which were clearly league-leading marks.
The relief pitchers for the Red Wings were also great, with the two standouts being Cid Pollendina and Krile Baldesion, who combined only gave up 3 runs over 42 innings. Rosa Farrell and Relm Arrowny were also great, holding leads in close games when the team needed them most.
Unfortunately for the Red Wings, their main weakness was their average batting. The team was 6th in runs scored over the season, but not for lack of trying. Outfielder Faris Scherwiz was the most consistent of the group, finding herself in the top 25 of three separate categories. However, a distinct lack of home runs and a lot of runners left on base for the team would doom them in the playoffs, where they lost in the semifinal to their division rival, the Crystal Braves.
Hoping to lean on the success of their pitching once again, the Red Wings are aiming for another playoff run. This time, they hope to bring an improved offense along for the ride.

AO3 link: here!
Heâd been talking about the baseball game all week. Not just talking. Enthusing. Lineup changes and last minute trades, spouting off a litany of statistics about cumulative ERAs and some philosophical diatribe about the Designated Hitting rule that went on for probably far longer than it should have, encouraged by lips loosened with a few beers and Ignisâs bemused epistemological inquiries.
Ignis had done his best to support Gladioâs interests by researching appropriate sports fan fare for such an occasion, taste-tested and kid-approved by none other than the resident âplebeian,â Prompto: sourdough soft pretzels, buffalo chicken mini pizzas, the ubiquitous hot dog dressed with some ungodly topping of sauerkraut and onions that sounded so unappetizing that he'd insisted on making it himself from scratch, to ensure it wasn't imported from the bowels of hell. Heâd even made a point to research enough for at least a cursory knowledge of the game, but he found he preferred hearing Gladio speak of it himself, listening to the lilt and candor in his voice as he did so.
âSo are you saying youâre for or against the Designated Hitter?â he asked, reaching for a serving tray at the top of Gladioâs cabinet. âI canât be sure, they way you enumerate your pros and cons. Youâre a fan of the Crown City Crests, arenât you? Theyâre in the Caelum League, which does, if I remember correctly, allow for the DH within the lineup? Though I have heard you speak highly of the Lestallum Lights, who are in the Lucis League, and do not. Statistically speaking, donât teams belonging to the Caelum League boast higher RBIs than those of Lucis? So why would anyone be against it? It seems only beneficial.â
âFirst of all, thatâs just unfair of you, talking baseball while wearing my Crests jersey,â Gladio said with a shake of his head, pointing his beer bottle at him like an erstwhile threat. âOne or the other, but those in tandem is sort of ruining me right now, if Iâm perfectly honest.â
From the open counter of the kitchen, Ignis smiled as he arranged some pigs-in-a-blanket on the serving platter. A little smugly, if Gladio surmised correctly. âPrompto assured me I looked quite dashing,â he informed him.
âShit on the Six, yeah, you do,â Gladio agreed, raising his beer in toast to the fact, and taking a generous swig of it for good measure. âBut. Returning to your question: I can see both sides of the coin here. DHs make for a more dynamic game, overall. I mean, who wants to see a pitcher struggling through the bottom of an inning, when he was posturing like a goddamn hero at the top of it? At the same time, I like the cohesion of the same nine men on the field. It feels like a real team that way, not like youâre bringing in a ringer. Which is exactly what a DH is.â
âAh,â Ignis replied, in that sage way of his, espousing that exaggerated interest with which one might indulge a child.
âAm I boring you?â Gladio asked, half joking and a little nervous heâd hear that he was. âI know baseball isnât your thing.â
âOn the contrary, I find your passion for it quite interesting,â Ignis assured him smoothly, walking a plate of food over, along with two longneck bottles of craft beer. Even if I donât quite understand the particulars of your argument fully.â
Heâd almost memorized Gladioâs apartment to a tee. Forty-five degree angle from the kitchen counter, six steps towards the lamp light before heâd hit the coffee table, and then it was just a matter of finding the corner of it to round and take his seat beside Gladio.
âI never did get into baseball,â Ignis continued, settling himself beside Gladio and letting his heavy arm drape over his slender shoulders and pull him close. âThough, I did enjoy football for a time.â
âFootball,â Gladio repeated, and the disbelief was apparent, even in the flat of his delivery. âWhat, seriously?â
âMm,â he affirmed wordlessly, swallowing down a mouthful of the bitter brew. âI think it was expected that I would find the systematicity of statistics interesting. But thereâs a fair amount of strategy involved in football that I prefer. I believe someone once referred to it as the thinking manâs game. It appealed to me.â
Gladio nodded pensively. âI mean, itâs true. For all your lineup plans and pitching changes and whatever else, thereâs no strategy that can be implemented until you hit that ball. And then itâs a team effort to see you home. Or keep the other team from it. A lot is luck, some of it chance. I can see football appealing to you. Itâs like chess. But with people. Large people.â Gladio squinted. âYou donât have a type, do you?â
Ignis laughed, ducking his head to ignore the question with another sip of his beer. âI donât think Iâve enough practical experience for you to deduce any pattern of behavior concerning what my type is. But yes. It did appeal to me. I used to sit in the library and read stratagem manuals thicker than phone books. Sometimes, when I rented them out, Iâd fall asleep with them on my chest and wake up in the middle of the night thinking I was suffering some asthma attack.â
Gladio laughed and kissed him indulgently on the cheek. It was then that he happened to notice a bright red spot of sauerkraut on his chest. âHere,â he said, grabbing a handful of napkins and daubing it at the stain. âYouâve got red on you.â
âDo I?â Ignis asked, at once worried and touching his chest to discern the worst of it.
âRight here,â Gladio replied, still working the stain. âI think Iâve got all of it.â
âMy apologies,â Ignis said soberlyâmore soberly than the occasion demandedâ putting down his plate and standing to brush the crumbs of hot dog buns from the front of his shirt. âI should change before I stain it further.â
âI don't have any more jerseys for you to look cute in,â Gladio called as he watched Ignis shuffle away towards his bedroom, staring with unabashed appreciation of his backside.
And though Ignis could not see, he was well-aware of the certainty of those eyes trained on him. âThen I shall have to go naked,â he announced grandly as he went to root through his dresser anyways, a pleased grin hidden with the turn of his head.
Ordinarily, Gladio wouldnât have hesitated to say something suggestive, something along the lines of complimenting his stellar ass or just wordlessly hooting his approval, like the neanderthal everyone purported him to be. But the subject had awoken a particularly sore spot for him that had been nagging at him for weeks. âOr you could just âŚ. keep a change of clothes over here,â he offered, a little quietly, maybe a little sullenly.
Within Gladioâs room, Ignis had the momentous benefit of obscurity during which Gladio could not see his face, could not watch the growing degree of disconcert that knit his brow with every passing second.
Ignis paused, and outside, for Gladio, the silence loomed. âNonsense,â Ignis said with a hollow, counterfeit ease. âI wouldnât dream of impinging upon your personal space.â
âImpingingâ what?â Gladio almost spluttered, setting down his beer as he leaned forward to plant his elbows onto his knees, straining to see within his room to glean some sort of understanding of Ignisâs enigmatic statement. âWhat are you talking about? Weâve been dating for a month now. I think that warrants some latitude into my life.â
âDating?â Ignis asked archly, the repetition buying him a moment of reprieve in which he might weigh his answers in spite of the harrowing tide of his racing heartbeat drowning the sound of his own thoughts. He was on tenuous ground here, and he knew it. He emerged from his bedroom in a soft, worn T-shirt that hung loose over his frame.
âYeah,â Gladio replied sourly.
âIs that what this is?â As if the concept was a foreign one to him.
It was incontestably clear how Ignisâ attempts at lightheartedness were not as easily received as heâd hoped they would be. Gladioâs voice dropped to a low menace, belying the cold misery that twisted in his stomach at the way Ignis wanted to dismiss ⌠whatever it was they had together. âGenerally, when you spend as much time as possible with each other and sometimes sleep togetherâ yeah, thatâs what dating is,â Gladio pointed out, bitterness edging his tone. âThough, dating would would imply weâd go out. On dates. In public.â A beat. âLike weâre not afraid. Or ashamed, maybe.â
Heâd expected Ignisâs hesitancy. It had taken him this long just to convince him to date him, it would stand to reason that he wouldnât exactly jump headfirst into things. But what he hadnât expected was his resistance.
âWe donât sleep together,â Ignis corrected, ignoring the rest of what Gladio had said, and the latter was near beside himself with hurt.
Gladio wasnât a stranger to bullshit said in the heat of the momentâheâd gotten himself in trouble on more occasions than heâd cared to count in his younger, reckless yearsâ and tried to slow the maddening pace of his heart, the bile on his tongue that threatened barbed words meant to sting and singe. âNo, we donât, not in any sense of the word,â Gladio agreed, his tone clipped.
And it was true. They hadnât. Every night that Ignis deigned to spend at his had been spent in hours of furious communion of mouths employed in drawing dizzying ecliptics down the line of each otherâs throats, feverish hands that mapped expanses of silken skin and twisted sinew, sought desperately for Ignisâs release as Gladio spoke words meant with the sweetest of intentions, delivered in poesy awkward upon his lips. But Gladio had been careful never to broach the topic of sex proper. âI thought it was important,â Gladio went on, his voice pitched low to preclude the waver of hurt in his voice. âThat you knew that I was serious about you. I know your reservations. I know you donât want to rush things. I donât want to rush things either. But I didnât expect to feel like Iâm the only one in this.â
Ignis said nothing, leaning a little helplessly against the doorframe, haunting the threshold of the room in which theyâd only just untangled themselves from last nights chaste lovemaking. The sigh of displeasure he let out had translated into one of irritation to Gladioâs ears, and in the latterâs oversensitive state, it rang hollow in his chest, echoed by the full, desperate thrum of a heartbeat racing to stave off the surely-advancing ache portended in the charged air.
âCanât even deny it a little, huh?â Gladio asked, and the plaintiveness of the question was unmistakeable.
Ignis made a point not to sigh again, not to utter any sound or word that Gladio might take ill, quietly padding over on bare feet to slip into easily into his wide lap. âDo you really think I donât care about this?â he asked, his fingers threading affectionately through the wisps of hair at his temple, stroking the shorn stubble there.
Gladio welcomed the weight of him there, quietly losing his mind over the rare display of audacious affection, but his stubbornness still heavy in his chest, clinging to the fine filaments of bitterness that purled around his ribs. âHard to say.â
Ignis nodded his understanding, considered, and then spoke. âThere are things I love about you, as you are. There are things I have always loved about you. Weâve known each other for so long. But there are things I love about you now that are difficult for me not to lose myself over.
I love that you look at me like a dock worker might eye a woman of ill repute. Donât laugh, I mean it. I donât think Iâve ever been desired the way you desire me. I donât think Iâve felt desired before. Iâve always been aware of your eyes on me, Gladio, donât think youâre subtle. I can tellâ even blindâ the expressions you wear: the sound of a grin pulling at your mouth, the way your voice turns a little dark when you frown. I can see every expression, cataloged in the back of my mind, and recalled sometimes startling clarity from so many years of marking your every whim and whimsy. Perhaps I regret it a little now, that Iâve waited too long, that I can no longer witness them, now that I might appreciate them with a different awareness.â
The silence that fell between them felt weighted, and Ignis tipped forward to touch their foreheads together, the points of their noses brushing affectionately. âI love that no matter how boldly you look at me, that in that room, you touch me like a consecrated thing, like Iâm whole and holy, and I have never felt so adored in all my life.â
Ignis breathed a sigh as soft as a kiss against his Gladioâs lips. âIâve never wanted anything for myself, you see. And I do now. Selfishly. Iâve never thought of myself as separate from the duty of my office. Iâve always lived like some tintype of a real person, vacant of any consideration of myself. And now, here I am, exploring what it means to want for the first time in all my life. And so I am, as you could understand, a little wary. Of myself, not of you.â
Gladio seemed to relax at that, the taut of his shoulders loosening under Ignisâ smoothing hands. âI donât want to fall in love with the way you make me feel. I donât want to fall in love with pretty words or sensations or sex. This is new to me, all of this, in ways itâs not so new to you. And therein lies my hesitancy. I want to be sure that when I tell you that I love you, I mean it. Without equivocation.â He kissed him softly, daring at last to do so with his final words. âIâm sorry, Gladio.â
Gladio let himself be kissed without making a move to reciprocate, but his arms circled Ignisâs waist the moment he broke heedfully from the kiss, crushing him to his chest as he buried his nose into the curve of his shoulder, breathing in the scent of his skin intermingled with the bloom of his freshly-laundered shirt, and wondered if that was what home smelled like. âIâm sorry,â he mumbled meaningfully into the fabric of his shirt. âIâm sorry I want too much of you. Iâm sorry I want everything, everything, and that Iâm impatient. Iâm trying not to be, I am. I donât want to overwhelm you, really I donâtââ
Ignis stopped his mouth with a kiss, followed by another that graced the peak of his cheekbone. âI know,â he assured him quietly. âI know. But I was remiss in not letting you know my mind. That was a fault of mine I readily admit to. One of those considerations I have yet to learn that comes with understanding someone elseâs feelings, in veins heretofore unfamiliar to me. Be patient with me, I beg you. Iâll never intend to harm you, I can promise you at least that.â
âNothing worth having ever comes easy,â Gladio said, turning his head press a kiss to the delicate hollow of his cheek. âIâll be patient. Iâll wait, of course I will. Iâve waited decades for you, Iâd wait decades more if you told me to.â He refrained from the declaration of vows Ignis was not ready to reciprocate, nodding as he repeated, âIâll wait.â
Ignis kissed him, a light, quick thing laid upon his cheek, as he took up Gladioâs heavy hand and led him to the room, to the eruption of sonorous cheers from the baseball game on the television, already forgotten. âOne of these days, you should spend the night at mine,â Ignis mused, falling back on Gladioâs plush bed and pulling him by the shirtfront down to follow.
âYeah? Invite me over,â Gladio countered, settling easily between his thighs, his hands finding Ignisâ to twine their fingers as close as vines, his mouth already latched to the curve of his shoulder.
Ignis arched to meet the press of his broad chest, his arms draped easily around his neck as he tilted his chin up to offer more of his throat to be kissed. âI could dress you, then,â he went on, his breath hitching with flick of Gladioâs tongue against his skin. âOutfit you in something pristine and proper, like a gentleman. Have you ever worn formal attire? I donât think I recall you in anything outside untidy school uniforms and hooded sweaters when we were younger. It would be a fascinating prospect, I think.â
âWhatâs wrong with the way I dress?â Gladio laughed, unoffended. âAnd I used to wear a uniform for guard duties, remember?â
âThatâs right!â Ignis exclaimed, grinning wide at the memory of Gladio in his staid uniform. âThose were nothing so sartorially impressive.â He grinned wickedly. âOr perhaps it was you who was the unimpressive one.â
âHeyââ Gladio objected, and Ignis ameliorated his offense with his a kiss.
âYou do dress as though youâre allergic to shirts,â Ignis pointed out, and Gladio bit his shoulder. âThat was uncalled for, you brute.â
âUnfortunately, youâve discovered my devastating affliction.â Gladio admitted through a long, theatrical sigh. âIâm allergic to shirts. How did you know. But that also meansââ He plucked at Ignisâs shirt. âOff.â
Ignis gave a little insincere groan of protest and pulled the shirt up over his head before settling back down with a brow quirked in defiant question. âBetter?â
Gladio had been hovering over him, now slipping to press himself to Ignisâ side, a hand laid heavy just below his navel. âIâm allergic to these, too,â Gladio informed him, tugging lightly at his belt loops and giving a few paltry coughs in demonstration of his newfound affliction, to Ignisâs deepening frown.
âIâll wait on the doctorâs note on that one,â Ignis decided, and Gladio fell upon him with a low, rumbling laugh.
âThatâs fine,â Gladio said, settling on his chest, his head tucked beneath Ignisâs chin, his arms circling his waist. âIâll wait.â
Ignis kissed the crown of his dark hair, his hands resting the broad bow of his back. âI know you will.â

The Orioles have over $40 million to spend, maybe
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0782b7d64efc09535cf4bbb24e590e05/a9b8217767094b2e-72/s540x810/b3731b3e8110719353d9f335bcbc8c2a5339d44b.jpg)
Thursdayâs Say Hey, Baseball looks at the Oriolesâ payroll and their needs.
The Orioles have wrapped up all of their arbitration negotiations and hearings, so they know exactly what theyâre spending in 2018. They also know exactly what their needs are, which means they know what they have to spend to fill them.
The Baltimore Sunâs Eduardo A. Encina calculates the Oâs payroll as just over $121 million, giving them about $43 million in room to get back to 2017âs record Opening Day payroll. As the only notable arms in a rotation desperate for help are Kevin Gausman and Dylan Bundy, and the free agent market is still hosting former Oâs starter Chris Tillman, Lance Lynn, Alex Cobb, and more, well, Baltimore could fix a lot in a hurry if they open up their wallet.
Will they, though? They havenât shown any real desire to upgrade, but late additions are also kind of a Dan Duquette thing, anyway, and the free agent freeze has likely exacerbated that. Weâll know in a hurry if the Orioles are content to finish in last place in the AL East again while doing things like dealing Manny Machado before the trade deadline, or if they want to make one last run for it with this core and some new friends before Machadoâs contract expires.
As Encina points out, the Orioles saw $46 million worth of contracts end before this offseason when Wade Miley, Ubaldo Jimenez, J.J. Hardy, and Tillman became free agents. With those roster spots open, money available, and a clear need for upgrades at positions where upgrades are available, it would be unconscionable for Baltimore to stick with the roster theyâve got.
In an offseason full of embarrassing actions by teams, the Oâs deciding they were going to follow up a last-place finish by going the addition-by-subtraction route would rank pretty highly. Theyâve got a few weeks left to avoid that being how they use the last of their Machado time, at least, but as with everything else this winter, weâll believe signings are coming once we see them and not a moment before.
The Indians got rid of Chief Wahoo when forced to, but the same mechanisms arenât in place for their team name, and thatâs a problem.
Different fantasy leagues have different rules about how Shohei Ohtani is going to be scored, and as someone who doesnât actually care about any of that, Grant Brisbee is the perfect person to write about how things should be.
Speaking of Ohtani, the Angels are going to use him as a pitcher and a DH-- not an outfielder. That means Albert Pujolsâ playing time is going to be reduced, and given how horrible his 2017 was, thatâs not a bad plan.
An MLB team tried to send a Special Assistant to the GM to scout free agents at the MLBPAâs training camp, but they were escorted out. Thatâs because itâs not a tryout camp, yâall, itâs more like a gym.
The version of David Robertson the Yankees got this time around was different than before.
Twinkie Town is fine with Yu Darvish signing with the Cubs, since they believe Lance Lynn would be a better signing, anyway.
Hereâs part two in a Baseball Prospectus series looking at why hitters are succeeding younger than they used to.
Longtime baseball scribe Jay Jaffe has moved on from Sports Illustrated, and taken up residence at FanGraphs.
Terry Franconaâs father, Tito Francona, passed away at the age of 84.

Less Bunts, More Schwarbers - Razzball Fantasy Baseball
Less Bunts, More Schwarbers â Razzball Fantasy Baseball
Ron Blomberg, the first DH known to man, stood in a parking lot, outside Parsippany, New Jerseyâs Ramada Inn, sipping a coffee and eating a donut. Mr. Blomberg was there to meet new recruits for the National League DH. A starry-eyed, Paul DeJong stepped up for a badge to Ronâs seminar, and to chat with Ron. âIâm a big fan, Mr. Blomberg.âRon looks Paul DeJong up and down, not thinking much of him,âŚ

You should not be spending a lot of time poring over my fantasy baseball designated hitter (DH) rankings for 2020 or really any other experts' rankings for that matter. Most players that qualify at DH (or utility/UT depending on the league) often play or are eligible at another position. Don't get yourself all lathered up trying to decide if Franmil Reyes or Edwin Encarnacion is the better DH. Read the full story on Athlon Sports

MLB changes the name of the 'Disabled List' at the request of disability advocates â Yahoo Sports
[ad_1]
Weâve seen quite a few rule changes discussed this week for Major League Baseball â from the universal DH to a three-batter minimum for relief pitchers. They might happen, they might not. Such is the process of baseball negotiating rule changes every year.
One thing *is* changing this year, however â and it might surprise you.
