It has been.. a few months now, since I started blogging about AvA and stuff. Since I started rambling about my au's, and just..

2 - Which of your fics is your pride and joy?

definitely my hockey au. it’s still in its infancy stages but i think i’ve grown a lot as a writer while working on it, and i think it’s definitively the best thing i’ve written ever. i’m sometimes shocked when i edit bc i feel like there’s no way that i could write that. it’s such a step up from anything i’ve written before, both in terms of actual writing and plot. i have this perpetual fear that it will all fall apart, but also i think my motivation to make it as good as possible means that it will only get better.

5 - What’s something you learned while researching a fic?

i mean at this point i know the entire nhl rulebook…..i think i’ve learned the most while writing the hockey au because it’s something i have no personal experience with, compared to a lot of my other fics.

9 - How did you get into writing fanfiction?

hmm i mean technically speaking i wrote my first fic when i was seven after seeing the lion king musical, i wrote nala’s perspective from the time when simba was away. i think a lot of my initial fics were driven by the desire to fill gaps in canon. tbh it wasn’t until this past year when i decided to write more aus, but now i’m just so invested in making itfs fall in love in every universe.

10 - Is there a character or ship you'd love to write for, but haven't yet?

this is not jjk, but recently hina got me into free!, and i’ve been loving it sm. i have a few ideas for my son ikuya and two ships w him (asaiku and one-sided ikuharu…..). actually i have a draft i’m working on but writing recently feels like torture and also im not great at writing crack/fluff, which this is. everyone should get into free! btw.

11 - What makes a fic 'successful' in your opinion?

hmmm i’ve actually been grappling w this recently. my numbers have been lower than usual and i find it easy to compare myself to others so in that regard i’ve been feeling like a bit of a flop, but also i’ve gotten some really nice feedback from authors i really admire and that i think are really skilled in their craft, which means more to me than any amount of kudos. like people who i think are really skilled like MY writing? that means so much to me.

i think i’m trying to move away from the numbers side and focus more on the quality of my work. if people are understanding the goal of my story and appreciating the effort i put in on a more meaningful level, what more can i ask for?

17 - What is something you recently felt proud of in your writing?

i feel like i’ve been doing a good job like. transitioning between paragraphs and even scenes. i used to cut scenes right after the accomplished what i wanted, but after getting some really helpful feedback from sam constellationqueen, i’ve gotten a lot better at that.

23 - What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?

i had been working on a story that was like. part fantasy part mystery. but i’ve since abandoned it. relatively. now that i’m a bit better at plotting and writing i would like to rewrite it from the beginning so i think that makes it count for this ask sjkskdk

30 - Have you noticed your style change over time?

definitely definitely. or at least my writing is much more polished. especially within the past few months like. i was actually writing the other day and i had a whole moment where i didnt even recognize my own writing it was odd experience. but in a good way.

31 - What fic meant the most to you to write?

i think it has to be summer lovin. i almost said kny i think that would be the expected answer from me and that one Did mean a lot to me, but w summer lovin i got the chance to process a lot of difficult feelings and things i was going through. like grief and anxiety abt the future, feeling like a failure, not knowing what i want from life…i feel like summer is always portrayed as this happy fun season, but i’ve always ended up feeling a bit depressed and lonely in summer so i wanted to capture that, which i think i did!

35 - give me a random fic you've read recently and liked

can’t go without plugging gasoline and lmhs. other than that…i’ve actually been reading more free! iwatobi swim club fics than itafushi tbh. other times, other places by eleanorenchanted is a beautiful fic that doesn’t need any real knowledge of free! and it’s just so beautiful. worth all 40k words made me cry.

Today (April 6th) is Icarus's birthday!

Will be turning 20 now (becoming OLD)

Last year I only really did a little doodle of him, but this year I ended up making the fantasy AU for my character story, so he's getting a new design for the universe

In this AU he's an assasin who's sent on a contract for Eli and Nala, two fugitives (soldier and prisoner) who have run away from the army camp they were staying at during a great war, however after hearing their reason for fleeing, he decides to travel with them, since he may be able to help them try to stop the war because of something he experienced when he was young

Icarus is 5'6, and in this AU he has scars on his right eye, and some on the edges of his mouth from fire. Specifically, he can breathe fire, but only his throat and mouth are actually fire resistant, externally he has no fire resistance, so at one point (presumably him overusing his firebreathing for something) he ended up burning the sides of his mouth and kinda giving himself joker scars except with burns

Also, I was going to try and add in a few other doodles to this reference sheet, but I ended up deciding not to right this second, cause I actually forgot about it and may not be able to finish the extra doodles on the side till after his birthday, so for now this is all

Hi!! Today I'm pleased to be hosting a stop on the tour for THE SWORD OF WRATH AND MERCY, a (grim)dark adult fantasy novel by NC KOUSSIS, with ESCAPIST BOOK TOURS. I'll be sharing my thoughts on the book so far and some gorgeous artwork.

I'm about a third of the way through the book so far, and its gripping lore/worldbuilding, intriguing and badass characters -- such as Selene, our one-armed warrior whom we go through a every emotional high and low with, whom we are taken on a training journey with, root for, feel for, be awed by -- and the relationships between the characters (as well as the character arcs I can see them having) have me flipping the pages. And of course, being grimdark, there is no shortage of gore, violence, everything that comes with it (see list of CW/TWs below). As we flip between Selene's and Tristain's (the biological child of Selene's warden) POVs and their individual journeys to kill or be killed and the struggles and betrayals they have to contend with, the vengeance they seek, we are sure to have nonstop action and breathless excitement.

Rayaari headcanon - modern AU for the nerdy side of Rayaari

(inspired by this lovely anon)

Before she starts dating Namaari, Raya wouldn't have ever considered herself to be nerdy, at least not in the traditional sense. Not that she thinks there is anything wrong with being a nerd, but in her mind she equates it to Star Wars fans and people with swords - indeed, something that Namaari is far more into than herself.

But one evening, they are sat side-by-side on the couch, and Raya is explaining comprehensively and with wild hand movements just how amazing certain aspects were of the basketball game she just watched, completely with statistics, when she realizes Namaari is staring at her with a small smile on her face.

She knows Namaari isn't a massive basketball fan herself, so she stutters to a halt in her description of a wonderful point scoring moment, and just says 'what?' with a slightly self-conscious shrug of one shoulder. She's about to apologize for discussing the sport yet again with Namaari, when her girlfriend merely leans over and gives her a kiss that is sweet yet full of promises. 'You're cute when you nerd out about the game,' Namaari says, and after that - yes, Raya will happily consider herself a nerd.

Namaari loves watching science fiction and fantasy television series. Sometimes on the rare weekends when Raya is either busy or away, she returns home only to be startled by Namaari's head popping over the back of the couch, her hair wild and eyes containing a slightly manic gleam, both from a sugar high and also thanks to ten straight hours of marathoning Battlestar Galactica.

Watching a television series with spaceships shooting each other or people running around with swords is rarely at the top of Raya's list of things to do, but she adores how animated Namaari becomes when she talks about her favourite shows, or episodes, or characters. Namaari being passionate about something makes her want to learn more about it also, and so she often joins her in the sitting room, feet resting across Namaari's lap as an episode plays, and while she always has the pretense of browsing on her phone, she's often semi-watching the show instead, and sometimes becomes just as engrossed in the story as Namaari.

Namaari also tends to get into arguments online regarding certain plot points or character motivations, and Raya realizes just how much she's also become a fan of these shows when she begins to provide offhand suggestions for argument rebuttals when Namaari is furiously typing back a response to someone online.

Raya considers herself to be part of a more 'action movie' type of audience, and if anyone asks for her top films or recommendations, she will have a long list of movies she considers to be 'cool'. However, she is also a massive Disney nerd, and loves re-watching the classic animated movies.

One of the ones that brings nostalgia for her childhood days is The Lion King, and she's a big enough fan of the film that she manages to persuade Namaari to call their two female kittens Sarabi and Nala. Namaari pretends they are slightly ridiculous name choices, but goes along with it anyway - 'If it makes you happy, dep la, then of course.'

Two days later, Raya catches her holding Nala up in the air dramatically, chanting the lyrics to the 'Circle of Life' under her breath. Raya manages to capture the moment in a short video on her phone, before her laughter gives her away and Namaari drops her arms guiltily.

Two shows they do genuinely have in common however is Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. On lazy days off, when the rain is pouring down outside and they have no plans, Namaari will make them both hot tea, and they snuggle together on the couch in order to marathon their favourite episodes.

Raya manages to break an ankle badly during a basketball game with friends, and is ordered by the doctor to spend several weeks resting on the couch. During the first few days, Raya becomes more and more agitated, already bored by the prospect of sitting around and having little to do. So Namaari brings out her PlayStation 4 and challenges Raya to try a few games.

Raya becomes obsessed with the Uncharted series, especially Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, drawn in by the characters of Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross. Soon, she isn't just playing the game, but is daydreaming about Chloe and Nadine being a potential couple.

Namaari is a book nerd, loving to read for hours on end, and can devour an entire book within one evening. However, published books are not the only thing she enjoys - reading fanfiction is also a preferred pastime. So when Raya starts talking about a potential couple from the video game she's obsessing over, Namaari doesn't hesitate to introduce her to this new world. Raya is reading Chlodine fanfic within the next ten minutes.

When there is finally a big announcement of a Convention coming into town, Namaari spends the day pondering how to persuade Raya they should buy weekend tickets...and perhaps even cosplay.

She arrives home with an entire speech prepared in her mind, only to be ambushed by a hug from Raya. 'I've got us weekend tickets to that convention!' she says, and Namaari can only kiss her in happiness.

In the end, they are both as nerdy as each other.

Bad Batch/Tangled: The Bad Batch is a small gang of Pirates that come across a hidden tower, where a young girl lives.

I had gotten some good responses from this little idea of mine -> here

So I decided to try and make this a full au, and possibly a story. Here are some small thoughts I had regarding the AU in question:

Omega is not a lost princess in this AU Kinda leaning towards her either being the lost half-sister of the Bad Batch or one of their unknown daughters, She’s just a young girl who was born with the magical ability to heal the sick and injured.

(Kinda debating on whether the Bad Batch should still be enhanced or magical, since this is technically medieval/fantasy, in their own way)

The Bad Batch had once been soldiers for the Kamino Kingdoms Army, brothers raised from youth to become elite soldiers, until the new Emperor Palpatine took over the Seven Kingdoms (to be explained later)

Around the time of the Bad Batch, minus Crosshair, running from the Kamino Soldiers towards their ship to escape the kingdom, Omega had been alone in her tower for over a week. Her guardian; Nala Se, had never been away for so long.

Omega was always warned of the dangers in the world outside her tower, nevertheless, her growing curiosity made her dream of exploring the world someday.
