Mystra showed him the secrets beneath the veils. The gossamer veils first, draped across the Weave. The delicate veils next, draped across her body. 'Chosen One' she whispered, as she slipped them off completely.
poor gale :'(
- the dialogue is from ea gale's explanation about his folly
- i kinda like that she ended up looking like a mother-of-pearl inlay lacquerware!
- oh this was a subconscious choice, but Gale is sitting in seiza which is a posture for showing respect especially to elders. it's also known to be a painful position to sit in for extended periods of time, which is why it was sometimes used as a method of (morally dubious) punishment. however, experienced people can maintain this posture for much longer. food for thought :-)
- (edit: deleted this point bcs it didn't really make sense + detracted from the art a little;;)
#also had other companion drawings w gale and mystra planned for this but none of them are complete... perhaps another day#mystra#baldur's gate 3#bg3#bg3 fanart#gale of waterdeep#gale dekarios#my art#hm i dont have many opportunities to share my mystra thoughts so!#mystra is incredibly difficult to redesign and draw! I want to give her a fantastical element to her while retaining her austere aloofness#(her unassuming design is actually surprisingly effective in making her seem so effortlessly powerful)#I love spiderweb imagery and braids(weave) for her but braids make her seem so... kind? very soft? i'll try again another day...#is this seriously my last post of 2023. goddamn

I really enjoy this!
“I thought this city didn’t have any gods.”
The pigeon grinned a beak full of dog’s teeth. “Ha. They say there aren’t. They even kept most of them out for a while.”
“How did you make it?”
“By being smart. By hiding.”
She gave the one-legged, feral feathered thing a sideways look. “As a pigeon?”
“Sometimes,” said the pigeon. “Sometimes I’m graffiti on a wall. Sometimes I’m a coin dropped in a beggar’s hand. I am neon at night, the rain in the light. I am the song the busker sings. I listen to the prayers of those who come to the city with big dreams.”
“And in return?”
It grinned again. Steam rolled off its feathers, smelling of cigarettes. “I eat their despair.”
“That’s cruel.”
It moved its wings in something like a shrug. “That’s the big city for you.”

First meeting
Bloodmoon falls off the work table after ruin was done building him
He hurt himself by accident
He was confused on where his dad was until he saw a shiny box
Suddenly he was in a new place where was he?
He saw monsters staring at him
He was horrified
(first meeting)
:O
Baby lore
Was Ruin just not paying attention? How did he not notice? What? Welp, glad they’re with the Daycare people, highly doubt Ruin would know how to care for babies
(And don’t take the questions as me not liking this sequence, I think it’s perfect, I just wanted to make fun of Ruin)
And oh god that’s horrifying The poor baby cat doesn’t deserve to be scared like that!
Your ability to draw creepy stuff with eyes still impresses me :P
Very good lore, amazing

they honestly couldve done so much with junpei beheaded/dismembered and im disappointed that it ended up just being mira. so much of his character and his relationship with akane is characterized by his lack of bodily autonomy, and him being openly beheaded during the nonary games would be the ultimate example of this. its perhaps the most brutal death in the game, and it never really gets explained or developed beyond the one puzzle that we get with it. junpei has been shown repeatedly to be subject to akane's plans or follow her blindly and i just think that would have been a really interesting angle to approach his beheading from. junpei has willingly signed up for nonary games in two different timelines just because he knew he would see her. he was infected with a deadly virus trying to find her. he grew desensitized to death as he took underground jobs to try and find her. his safety always comes second when shes in the picture, and his beheading wouldve been a prime opportunity to 1. exploit his willingness to let himself die/be injured for her and 2. make akane confront the fact that her confidence that junpei will always follow after her is not necessarily a positive thing.
#zero escape#additionally wasnt mira supposed to be asleep?? like i know she didnt get the forget juice but didnt she still get knocked out?#but also!! none of her other kills were like that! none of them were dismembered and she didnt touch junpeis chest#so even that reasoning doesnt make sense#kinda feels like a copout to keep the shock of junpei being disrespected in such a way - to have his very body turned into a puzzle#a puzzle that akane is forced to solve!!! without knowing that what shes looking for is his head - him!#theres so much potential there and they just didnt do anything#im not even saying that akane should have somehow been responsible for that death - only that not having her really grapple with it is such#a missed opportunity#i still fucking LOVE the imagery of it though. i really think its the epitome of the representations of his lack of autonomy#he loses all of vlr. quark. 45 years of his life. because akane decides this is best for him. he dies repeatedly trying to find her.#because she believes that she knows what will keep him safe#and turning junpeis body into a puzzle posthumously is a fantastic example of his lack of control over his body#its like hes literally become a doll. hes jumpydoll - not junpei. hes subject to these games even after he has died.#he gets no peace. no respect in his death. not when hes in these games. not when hes in the shadow of akanes whims and games.#i still love the imagery. i think it was one of my favorite parts of ztd and is honestly now a core tenet of my Junpei Understanding#but i was disappointed in the lack of narrative weight that specific death had. for him to be one of the first dead? for it to be in such a#brutal manner? like come ON. the character analysis for junpei and akane and their relationship is RIGHT THERE. all you had to do was put i#in the game#but nope.#they just handwave it as something mira did.#and dont bring up the details ever again because. plot point solved?#anyway. ive been thinking about junpei imagery and bodily autonomy a lot. obviously.#zero escape spoilers#mak no peeking#marydontlookatthis

this song gets played so much and yet we never really talk about the fucking imagery of these lines. i am not immune to late afternoon and ghost imagery
#sophaerostxt#arctic monkeys#am era#one day i'll make a comp of every ghost mentioned in am tlsp and mk songs#like idk this is just so wonderfully melancholy and what a way to profess the whole i think we're meant for each other thing#+ how this somewhat fantastical imagery of a ghost comes outta nowhere in an album so firmly situated in the real world#like. yeah we get a lot of surreal imagery but this one of a ghost in your room feels different yknow it's treated like it's mundane#unlike r u mine for example where it goes ham on the twist and turns of wordplay and rollercoaster imagery#does that make sense??idk i just love it a lot#take a shot every time i use the word imagery

Chapitre 197 - Two Lives
Oh mister imbalance himself! No thank you take it back.
The splash text reads:
My indecision and my hesitation I discarded long ago
So that I may obtain one singe thing
And yeah I guess that does sum him up pretty well.
The pose is frankly incredible, I don’t think he deserves it.
This is the giant oil painting of himself he hangs in the break room of his evil organisation. He has smaller poster versions he puts up in all the hallways. He also has bookmarks made as well. He loves this version of himself dearly. It’s the way he really sees himself. It’s the way he assumes he is.
And the moon he reaches towards is so beautiful, but I think there’s a little bit of actual moon nonsense I don’t quite get with him yet. The full moon appeared in the reflection of the water that one time, out of sync with the time around it, and I’m not sure if that’s if further significance to Evil Wolverine himself or if it was more of a warning of the time of his arrival.
But either way It’s so interesting that he could be just be standing by the moon, but instead he’s standing in front of a roughly hewn out poor imitation of the moon instead. It’s not even exactly the right shape, and you can see the broken base at the bottom, still jagged. And IS it the moon, or is it a leftover fragment of that statue Sakura that was praying at? Is it an echo of Evil Wolverine hacking away at the universe and taking the remnants proudly for himself?
Is it a continuation of how he hacks away at everything he touches in service of his own wish, leaving everything else around him a broken ruin that suits him perfectly? How he not only doesn’t care about the lives he ruins but ACTIVELY aims to do it in order to get what he wants?
Is it a peek into the fact that he wants "the moon", but all he’ll ever be able to achieve is an ugly simulacrum of it? How he’ll never get exactly what he wants, but thinks that ruining the universe until he can get something close enough is good enough for him? That it’s some incredible and worthy goal worth looking forward to, but in reality it's just a shambles of broken rock, battered and stolen and only a fraction of what it might have been without him?
Is the fact that it’s all Rock a sign that Evil Wolverine’s wish is essentially just a barren landscape, a lifeless universe that roughly looks almost like what he wants if you squint a bit?
And yet he thinks he’s pulling it off masterfully the entire time.
Also there's a JUICY, delicious morsel in the fact that the splash text refers to him leaving behind "hesitation" specifically - and it was Lava Lamp's hesitation that ultimately lead to him missing Sakura's hand and being unable to save her. It shows the parallel between the two (that Evil Wolverine himself is so thrilled by) and also demonstrates why Evil Wolverine thinks he's right. It's almost like he's experienced the exact same moment already, or something very similar to it. If he ever does hesitate he'll have the same result - he'll lose the person he's fighting to save. So he's decided to go Full Speed in the other direction and never hesitate or let anything else ever hold him back again, and this has lead to him full on slaughtering countless worlds without ever thinking twice.
It's a great reflection on what Lava Lamp's own dedication could turn into - and he's from the same bloodline, so the parallels write themselves. If pushed in the same directions WOULD Lava Lamp end up as the next Evil Wolverine, or will his heart let him grow in ways that Evil Wolverine cut out of himself a long time ago?
#When you have to grudgingly admit that this looks great#SIGH it’s very fun to look at I GUESS#The imagery slaps I SUPPOSE#The parallels are dark and fantastic and I appreciate them IF I MUST#Now how do we push him out a window#Liveblogging the reservoir chronicle#Tsubasa#Vol 197#Evil Wolverine#Was there ever a fan theory that Lava Lamp guy and Evil wolverine were the same person#Because gosh that'd be a fun idea to play with#And I trust that CLAMP are having an absolute blast with this

man the lack of appealing stage design or visual effects or lighting or significantly interesting camera work completely kneecaps the dances from p3/5d as compared to p4d. i think the dances themselves are completely fine, if not better than p4d in a some cases, but there’s so little charm in the presentation that i can’t bring myself to care nearly as much
#it’s just so boring looking even if the dances themselves are interesting#there’s not even an audience!! no ones watching them!! why should i!!!!#i loved how the p4 characters feel like they’re on stage because they ARE ON STAGES#how do you even do dream fluff while not making any dreamlike imagery at ALLLL#do you really expect me to get hyped seeing the ground floor of tartarus? you think that’s even remotely interesting?#as opposed to fantastical stages with hordes of shadows cheering?#even the p5 palace sets are boring. they’re so big and empty#p4d posting#rambles

“Hunter’s Moon,” Vengeance of the Moon Knight, (Vol. 2/2024), #4.
Writer: Jed MacKay; Penciler and Inker: Alessandro Cappuccio; Colorist: Rachelle Rosenberg; Letterer: Cory Petit
#Marvel#Marvel comics#Marvel 616#Vengeance of the Moon Knight#Vengeance of the Moon Knight vol. 2#Vengeance of the Moon Knight 2024#Moon Knight comics#latest release#Hunter’s Moon#Yehya Badr#!!!! I am so indebted to Mr. MacKay for making the framing device of his comics just straight up therapy sessions#it’s such a great way to easily have characters get to the root of what they’re really thinking/feeling#and I love having that opportunity with a typically very reserved character as Dr. Badr#and it offers such great food for thought#since Marc’s character is unfortunately my specialty I am fascinated by the comparisons that can be drawn here#or rather the contrasts#since so much of Marc’s life (for better or worse) involved pushing back against every sort of authority possible#(his father/religion/the Marine Corps/Khonshu)#or at least that was a prominent characteristic of his in earlier MK comics#meanwhile Dr. Badr is all-in and I find the depth of that loyalty fascinating#that it can be as equally healthy or destructive as consistently questioning authority can be#and his utter acceptance (and willingness even) that nothing but madness and eventual death awaits him#what can I say I’m greatly intrigued by characters with convictions strong enough to die for#(and there’s that last panel which on re-reading is rather cheeky foreshadowing for such fantastic imagery oh my gosh)

I have connected the dots and unlocked myself a new father~ Happy Birthday @awildjonesyappears!! You are my dad now~
I originally just wanted to add a photo of my father Béla, but it looked out of place so I quickly went over it. I always feel like I’m not capturing his likeness well enough. I also need to put him in the Dracula gear for him to be recognizable.
Alternate version of previous dumbassery:

Could u tell more about the story of Fantastic Priests plsss? :3 ( specially about Esdras and Saturno) Im invested. Also , are you planning tô make a comic or novel about em in the future ?
WHAAAAAAAAG I finally got the time to sit down at my computer and type something out, so sorry for the late reply anon o(-<
Okay so the TL;DR is it's my concept for a crime-drama-thriller-thing movie or series set in an alternate history 1880s London, where local priest Esdras gets caught up in the strange murder case of a fellow clergyman that quickly becomes the talk of the town! Esdras doesn't get into it willingly at first though (as much as his curiosity tells him to), since he has been appointed by the archdiocese to provide counsel to the bishop, Saturno - his own boss - on top of his usual priestly duties. Things aren't as straightforward as they seem, though, as he starts to find out that Saturno's got some skeletons in his closet...
Reverend Saturno is a guy who wears many hats (aside from his namesake saturno hat). He's not just an important member of the clergy, he's also a celebrated author of fantasy novellas for young readers. These books taught good Christian values — through the riveting tales of a special magical boy going to an Eton-esque academy for mages! As a young boy, Esdras had been a superfan of the books, and was on cloud nine when he got to meet Saturno after a church service. He asked his idol and future employer: What inspired the story of the mage boy in the books, and how can I become like him and make the world a better place?
To which the priest smiled and said: The stories were inspired by my experiences as a holy man of God - the mages are, in fact, representations of us priests.
But of course, as years passed, times changed - the average citizen grew more aware of social injustices, minority peoples were gaining more prominence in society, international influences were making waves through Britain, technology was rapidly advancing, et cetera - and Saturno grew increasingly fearful of this change. He started to turn bitter, paranoid, and volatile, retreating further and further away from society to spend time in prayer and contemplation and God knows what else.
And we now return the story beat outlined in the start of this post - Esdras, as a grown man and an ordained priest, coming face to face with his boyhood idol again - and having to re-evaluate everything he's ever known about Saturno, the books, his faith, and the Church as an institution itself.
Sounds familiar? Yeah, it's basically a glorified pisstake at a certain J. K.
Also to cap off this post I'll add this meme talking about the themes discussed in the story because by golly gosh there's a lot going on and it's too much for one post wawawawawawawawawawawawaw
#i am ssososossoso excited to hear youre intrrerstd in my brainworm awgagagaagaggaagaga#thank youuuuu#thank you anon#fantastic priests#father esdras#reverend saturno#priests#religious imagery#oc lore#oc stuff
