Askfic Prompt
(Set in DA:I x Red Robin AU)
"Can I?"
Tim gave Damian a stern look. "No."
"Please?"
"You've never said 'please' to me in your life."
"Which means this is a very special occasion, and you shouldn't squander it by saying 'no'."
Tim pinched the bridge of his nose. "There is no way I'm letting you bring a baby dragon into Skyhold. Tam would murder me, and I've already filled my near-death quota for the year."
"Just one egg?"
"No."
Damian was silent for a moment. Then he said in an overly loud voice, "But wouldn't a tamed pet dragon be the perfect mascot for Bull's Chargers?! Mabaris are so Ferelden! Why have a mere warhound when you can have a fire-spitting winged beast scorching your enemies from the skies?!"
As Tim felt Iron Bull immediately turn his attention to the pair of them, could practically hear the gears working between the Qunari's horns, he glared at his now very smug little brother.
"I hate you so much."

DA:I crossover with Red Robin - random drabble
It was late in the tavern, but a select group of patrons were sitting at the table closest to the fireplace and discussing a critically important topic amongst themselves.
"How much longer are those two going to tiptoe around each other?" Iron Bull grumbled.
Varric chuckled. "You can't rush these things. Theirs is what we in the writing business call a 'slow-burn romance'."
Dorian scoffed. "If the burn were any slower, we'd all be freezing to death."
Cullen studied his mug of ale. "I don't think there's going to be any rushing the pair of them. Tim made it clear that he did 'something' prior to their arrival in Thedas that really upset Tam, and it ruined their previous engagement."
There was a stunned silence at the table as all eyes turned on Cullen. The Knight-Commander felt his ears start burning.
"They were engaged?!"
"What did he do?!"
"Has Tam forgiven him?!"
"Has Tim forgiven himself?!"
"I should have brought a notepad and quill. This is great!"
Cullen held up both hands in front of him and tried to answer each question in turn, pointing at each questioner as he spoke.
"Apparently it was a 'fake' engagement, and no I don't know the details... I don't know... I don't know... Clearly he hasn't... And what kind of masochist would want to read such a convoluted torturous love story as theirs?"
Off to the side, Seeker Cassandra said nothing and took a long draught from her own ale.
Leliana smiled into her wine as she glanced at Josie and Vivienne. "That actually lines up fairly well with what Tam has told us here and there. And yes she has forgiven him, but I don't think she has actually spoken those exact words out loud to him."
Sera groaned dramatically. "Maker's sassy spotted britches! Can't we just lock the pair in a tower somewhere until they start snogging?!"
"Besides the fact that I'm certain there is not a lock anywhere in Thedas that Tim can't pick, I'm fairly sure neither are the 'straight-to-snogging' type," Blackwall said.
"Agreed," Josephine said briskly. "If anything, they are the two most hopelessly romantic star-crossed pair of hopeful young lovers I've ever had the pleasure of knowing." Then she smiled. "And I have a plan to..." She made a vague gesture with her hand. "...nudge them in the right directions."

Dragon Age Inquisition x Red Robin crossover - notes revolving around Iron Bull
Tim is very wary of Bull initially.
Bull immediately recognized Tim starting a self destructive PTSD spiral at Skyhold. He's seen too many good people burn out like that during his time serving in Seheron with the Ben-Hassrath and he wasn't about to let it happen again if he could prevent it.
While Tim is healing physically, Iron Bull uses some of the techniques used during his own post-Seheron Ben-Hassrath "re-education" to help Tim heal mentally. It's not "brain washing" or anything nefarious. It's actually just a form of cognitive processing therapy combined with stress inoculation therapy and the use of certain tonics made of specific herbs to help Tim sleep without nightmares. Later on, Cullen folds these practices into the Inquisition's treatment of soldiers suffering from battle fatigue.
Iron Bull thinks a part of Tim would flourish under the Qun and be very successful as part of the Ben-Hassrath. However, he also thinks a part of Tim's spirit would be irreparably damaged if he did get completely converted into the Qun.
Tim grows to trust Iron Bull a great deal as he heals. He becomes close with the other Chargers by extension. The camaraderie of the ragtag company reminds him of the friendship he had with the Titans, but without the pressures of leadership.

DA:I crossover with Red Robin - random drabble #6
Once the door was closed and secured, Tim leaned against it for a long moment.
"Damn it," he muttered.
***
Four against one was not a fair fight. Tim had no weapons or armor. His hands weren't even gloved. His immediate opponents were clad in sheets of heavy metal armor from head to toe and each carried a large shield as well as a sharp longsword in their hands.
The templars never stood a chance.
Unencumbered by armor, Tim dashed into the middle of the group! Before the knights could fully realize what was happening, the young man had swept the legs out from under the largest and slowest of their number, sending him crashing to his back! While grounded, Tim punched the man squarely in the front of the full faced helmet he wore. The hit caused enough damage to the helm that the holes for his eyes became unaligned and the poor man couldn't pull it off his head.
The sword that knight lost found its way immediately into Tim's hands. The three standing knights immediately had eyes on him, shields and swords at the ready.
Then Tim flung the sword at Chancellor Roderick, and the templars' eyes all followed the sword in confusion. The chancellor shouted in alarm, but the sword embedded itself in the dirt a good couple of yards away from his feet.
Suddenly there was commotion among the knights! Tim had dashed in once more and surprised them with close combat! The three of them were bunched together so tightly the couldn't swing their swords for fear of hitting their comrade! Their shields were also nearly useless as the young man would slip around or under them to aim his hands and feet at their more lightly protected joints!
A second templar went down with a scream, his knee dislocated.
Another fell unconscious when he took the full force of a flashy leaping roundhouse kick to the head!
There was only one templar now between him and Roderick, and this one had learned from his fallen brothers. As Tim stood there in a ready stance, breathing heavily and knuckles bleeding, the knight dropped both his sword and shield. He also pulled off his helm and threw it away. Then he brought up his own fists.
Tim glanced back at the cottage where Tam still slept before he nodded at his opponent. The templar glanced at Roderick before mirroring Tim's gesture. Then they both dashed into a full on brawl!
This fight lasted longer than the others. Without the weapons and helm hindering his movements, he put up a strong challenge and got several solid hits on Tim! However, the knight fought only with his fists, and Tim used his whole body and environment. In the end, Tim led the knight toward a nearby wall, then rebounded off of it to get added momentum to an already powerful kick to the poor man's head, knocking him unconscious.
***
Tim set most of the logs into the pile next to the fireplace nearest Tam's bed. Then he fed two into the flames, wincing a bit at the wounds on his hands as the heat got too close.
Gingerly, Tim settled himself into a chair and leaned it back wearily. That entire display should not have happened. If only that chancellor would just stop threatening Tam! He thought of the looks of shock on everyone's faces when the dust had settled. The last thing Tim wanted was for these people to fear him, to fear "them".
He just wanted to keep Tam safe until he could get her back home.
He glanced toward Tam's left hand that bore the strange glowing green mark.
He'd already failed her once.

DA:I crossover with Red Robin - random drabble #1
Tim enjoyed the company of Varric. The clean-shaven dwarf was conversational without being pushy. He was also ok with answering Tim's questions about the immediate world of Haven around them without expecting any answers to his own in return.
However, Tim felt he was incurring conversational debt with the dwarf every time he opened his mouth. Despite wielding a pretty impressive crossbow and being very competent in a fight, there was the sense that an unspoken tab was being kept between them. Tim didn't survive managing Wayne Enterprises in Bruce's absence without learning to recognize a shrewd businessman when he met one. There would come a day when he would have to pay up.
If Tim was lucky, he would be back home in Gotham with Tam long before that debt would have to be paid.

Dragon Age Inquisition x Red Robin crossover - headcanon & drabble
Headcanon: Damian never really understood Tim. Then Haven fell, and suddenly everything made sense.
-----
"Take care of him," Tam had whispered into his ear as she'd given Damian a tight hug before walking out of the Chantry to face Corypheus. She'd even smiled reassuringly at him, as if everything was going to be alright.
He couldn't stop her.
He couldn't save her.
Now she was gone, along with Haven.
Sheltered from the sudden winter storm in the largest tent the refugees had set up when finally stopping to camp, Damian felt like he was trapped in a nightmare he could not wake up from. He could only watch in growing horror as the adults around him were desperately trying to save Timothy's life from an injury that should have been fatal.
An injury Tim got while trying to protect him at Haven.
"Come along, my child," a warm soothing voice said as a hand rested itself on his shoulder. Through blurring vision, Damian looked up to see Mother Giselle now next to him. "Let's stay out of their way."
Numbly he followed the Chantry matron, even as his own thoughts roiled.
"She asked me to take care of him, but I can't do anything.
"I don't have healing magic.
"I have no potions.
"I can't save him.
"He's going to die and it's all my fault!"
Damian felt himself get pulled into a warm comforting embrace. He could smell the scent of the Chantry's usual incense on Mother Giselle's robes. He heard her making a soft shushing sound. The boy suddenly realized he'd said everything out loud, that tears were streaming down his face, and, for perhaps the first time ever, he felt true despair.
Tam was already gone. If Tim didn't survive the night, he was going to be completely alone.

DA:I crossover with Red Robin - random drabble #4
"Well shit," Varric muttered under his breath when he saw the Chancellor approaching with four armored Templars. This particular human was not one of his favorite individuals, and clearly Tim shared the same sentiment. Still holding firewood in his arms, he turned to the approaching men and addressed them quite coolly, but politely.
"Can I help you with something?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
Chancellor Roderick made them wait until his armored Templars had come to a rest at his side before answering.
"You will step aside," he said condescendingly.
Tim's eyes narrowed. "Why?"
Something in the young man's tone hinted that the dwarf needed to put some significant distance between himself and the budding conflict. Varric put down his firewood logs and stepped back a few yards, joining the other onlookers that were starting to take notice.
Whatever warning Tim was trying to communicate flew completely over Roderick's head without a hint of comprehension. "By order of the Chantry, the criminal in that cottage is to be arrested and taken to Val Royeaux for trial!"

Dragon Age Inquisition x Red Robin crossover - "How did Tim survive Haven's Fall?" notes
Tim should have died at Haven. Tam saw that in a vision of the future when saving the mages at Redcliffe alongside Dorian. That's why she's so adamant about Tim specifically surviving. If he lives, that means the future can be changed.
Cole is the reason Tim survives. He is a Spirit of Compassion who tries to warn the Inquisition about Corypheus's approach on Haven.
Just like the Spirit of Faith merged with the mage Wynne during the Fifth Blight and the Spirit of Justice merged with the mage Anders in DA:2, so did Cole merge with Tim to save his life.
Side effects #1 - Tim lives. He's still seriously hurt, but doesn't die from his injuries.
Side effect #2 - Tim always feels like he's being watched, especially while sleeping and dreaming. He starts to wonder if he's being haunted or if he's going crazy. This is amplified when Cole starts "talking" to him in his head with his usual banter commentary on other people around them.
Side effect #3 - Because of Cole, Tim can connect to the Fade like other mages in Thedas. He starts showing signs of being able to use magic. This honestly freaks him out quite a bit, so he does his best to try and hide/repress it.

Dear brain... Again what are you doing?
I was happy playing in just my DA:I x Red Robin verse. I had characters and ideas and plot bunnies hopping around everywhere with little swords and shields on their backs.
Now there's Turnabout verse.
Why?! Why did you decide NOW that you want me to play with a Ra's al Ghul redemption arc story that also puts Dana Winters-Drake back into Tim's life and rekindles a long lost romance between Alfred and Madeline?!
If Alfred and Madeline decide to elope at any point in this, that would legally make Alfred Tim's great-step-uncle through two marriages.
*headdesk*
Sincerely,
Me

DA:I crossover with Red Robin - random drabble
Tam felt herself being lifted from the snow and cradled close to a warm body. A trembling hand was stroking her face. Someone was calling her name, but they sounded so far away. Though all she really wanted was to drift off into a deep sleep, slowly she willed her weary eyes to open. Then the corners of her lips lifted slightly.
"You're alive," she murmured with a smile, unable to speak above a hoarse whisper. She reached up to weakly brush her near frozen fingertips against Tim's cheek.
It took him a couple of tries, but finally Tim found his own emotion choked voice.
"You too."
He reached up with his free hand and caught Tam's before it could fall. Tenderly, he pressed his lips into her palm as tears of relief filled his eyes. The last thing Tam felt and heard before blissful darkness dragged her into the world of dreams was the sound and tremble of Tim sobbing into her hand.

Dragon Age Inquisition x Red Robin crossover - headcanon & drabble
Headcanon: Tam loves to cook and can cook very well. She has claimed the kitchen in Skyhold as "her baby" and she personally vetes any chef hired by the Inquisition. Andraste help anyone who tries to cook there without her permission.
-----
"Aren't you worried about salmonella?"
Tam side-eyed Damian, the teaspoon she was using to taste some batter with still in her mouth. She was silent for a few seconds before pulling the spoon out, tossing it into the sink, and turning to where the sugar bowl was resting next to where Damian sat on her kitchen counter.
"Dami," she started as she grabbed a ring of measuring spoons and found the smallest one. "Think about our daily lives."
The boy tilted his head quizzically.
Tam leveled a spoonful of sugar and added it to the batter. "How many enemies want us dead? How many creatures just want to eat us? How many times are we caught in the splash radius of Sera's latest concoction in a fight? How many ears and eyes do we never see but have to be aware of whenever we visit Val Royeaux? How much coin am I going to lose to Josie in our next game of Wicked Grace?"
After mixing the batter and taking another taste, Tam poured a ladle of it into a hot skillet. Once it was fully cooked, she gave it to Damian.
"So, no, salmonella is really at the far end of my worries list."

DA:I crossover with Red Robin - brainstorming notes
- Once the Inquisition gains a fair amount of notoriety in Ferelden, Tim unwittingly gains the nickname of "The Fox's Hound." Considering how much Ferelden natives revere their Mabaris, this is not meant as an insult. They feel Tim embodies a lot of the same traits as a Mabari which is a noble aspiration for a human. It doesn't stop Tam from humming tunes from the Disney movie while traveling around Ferelden with Tim, much to his chagrin. When he tells her to stop, she then switches over to tunes from Robin Hood.
- Tam is trained almost exclusively by Leiliana in the skills of both an archer and bard.
- On the side, Varric is crafting a new novel series with a character very similar to Tim as the protagonist.

DA:I crossover with Red Robin - random drabble #2
The thing about Tim that stuck out most to Varric was that fact that the kid just didn't appear dangerous at first glance.
That is, dangerous outside of that weird armour he wore. When encased in the strange red and black leather that resembled nothing in Thedas he could recall, the belts with all their enticing contraptions, and the close-fitting cowl and cape that somehow made his eyes stark white, Tim was an imposing figure. He honestly looked more demon than human at that point.
Outside of the armor, though, Tim appeared to be just another mostly normal human man in his teenage years.
He carried himself like a nobleman's son outside of his armor. He had a good posture, spoke quite well (even with his odd accent), and had excellent manners for a young man his age. He preferred to be well-groomed when not in the field, and gravitated toward clothing that was clean, had minimal wrinkles, and was eye pleasingly coordinated in color when out of armor.
However, Varric was forced to reassess this assumption when Grand Chancellor Roderick tried to assert his authority once again on Tim and the still unconscious young woman he had sworn to protect.

DA:I crossover with Red Robin - brainstorming notes
Ra’s al Ghul is in Thedas at the same time as Tim and Tam, but he is MIA for a good chunk of time. Tim is holding out hope he is giving a dragon indigestion somewhere.
Solas managed to slip into Tim’s dreams uninvited ONCE. The elf got to see Tim in full Red Robin uniform while swinging and gliding through Gotham City with his family. However, when Tim discovered he was there, he slammed the door to his mind so hard on Solas that it left the elf with a migraine the next morning. Tim didn’t remember a thing, though.
Tam and Tim both love visiting Val Royeaux. It reminds them of France and feels the most “modernish” of all the cities they frequent in Thedas. However, Tim nearly laughed himself breathless when he learned the reason why Orlesians all wear masks.
