i really think there needs to be a conversation about how ppl in fandom use headcanons as a way to avoid caring about canonically non-white and non-male characters

it is because they are mostly usamericans/imperial core residents and therefore they can imagine one type of harm befalling them (therefore making it Real and Serious) and not the other (thereby making it Funny)
this is really the heart of the matter isnt it? most ppl who have lived a life thats free from the threat of war and what goes on in it dont take the idea of war crimes seriously. this is partly bc they dont really know what a war crime is. to them war crime is a funny word/term, completely divorced from the reality of what irl war crimes entail
but i'll let you in on a little secret: one of the most common war crimes, one that has existed for as long as war has existed and one that has been committed by every single army that has ever existed, is rape. against women and girls primarily but also against men and boys. sexual assault during wartime is expected and rarely ever prosecuted. its an inherent part of war
i also think that part of why 'war criminal blorbo' is funny and 'rapist blorbo' isnt funny is that most media with a large fandom that makes those types of jokes arent media that really delve into the realities of war crimes. its very abstract or very large scale and therefore, to the audience, doesnt feel as personal. your blorbo blowing up a planet or being a general in charge of a pillaging army feels impersonal, feels very distant (well if youre someone who hasnt had to deal with war irl that is) even if your blorbo is taking part in the pillaging themself. we usually dont see the horrifying aftermath. the piles of corpses, the burnt homes, the utter destruction that ruins lives. we dont see the lasting trauma
rape feels more personal and is typically portrayed as more personal. we see the horror or the horror of the aftermath in full, the lasting trauma that comes afterward. rape is also considered one of the only crimes that literally cannot be justified. your blorbo can have a reason for being a war criminal, he can even have a good reason in the text of the story. maybe he can even be redeemed within the text of the story, make up for what hes done. but rape cannot be justified and cannot by sympathized with so therefore a blorbo who commits rape is inherently evil and, more often then not, he will be portrayed as such within his story
its really crazy how people love to blorbopost about how their blorbo is a War Criminal Scrunkly but those same people will act like you ate their dog if you so much as imply that scrunkly has any textual relation to sexual violence

Think I’ve finally figured out why Daniel Craig is trending
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This image has become a meme in comparing him to a banker / accountant / antiques dealer / European MP, university professor etc etc (whilst also acknowledging the sexiness ofc)

Why does he keep accidentally creating viral memes and he doesn’t even know 😭😭

when annabeth ''breathed in the sea air and thought about percy.'' and says that she could never visit the sea and not be reminded of him in moa
then about 20 pages after that, annabeth is trapped with spiders, and after they're burned and she's left trembling and frozen, she forces herself to move to get to her friends and ''the ocean air helped her clear her mind.''

i like to keep most of my thoughts between myself and one or two friends on discord who r not in the fandom but .... i gotta say, i think the way a lot of yall approach jrwi is very. demanding?
i understand being attatched to a certain story, but that shits difficult. this constant need for new new new while ignoring.... the other stuff they're putting out? it gets tiring.
its no fun looking thru the tags to find new art or discussion to share and instead being met with constant (often hypocritical) complaining.
there are plenty of other ttrpg channels out there. if you find yourself upset at jrwi not having what you're looking for, maybe try looking elsewhere.
hell, I'd love to recommend some of mine and my friends favourites, for anyone looking for specific vibes!

when I started this pmd journey no one told me I was gonna get so attached to my teams AAARRRGH
so many thoughts... I will leave some of them in case anyone is curious 👉👈
so at first my eos hero was just the character i played as, i wasn't expecting them to be so important for the plot (first pmd game yeah), he's like his own guy so i'm legally changing their name to Cebolla hehe
Pringle takes the offensive in battle while Cebolla has more of a support/annoyer role, so they're usually the one carrying the bags while Pringle tries to keep objects out of the way for agility.
Pringle used to paint his paws with black, waterproof paint, he had to paint and wash them everyday. after Cebolla disappeared, Pringle was just way too tired and unmotivated so he stopped painting them altogether (which just made him feel worse oof). he started using longer lasting dye eventually.
Pringle got pretty close to Dusknoir at first, but Dusknoir started avoiding being alone with him after he discovered who Cebolla was. it took a long time for Pringle to understand why. Cebolla on the other hand clicked with Grovyle instantly and wished they could've spent more time together (future trio does return to visit eventually tho... for my peace of mind).

i feel like sometimes my fandom of choice has completely spoiled me because in other fandoms there are ≤4 workable pairings (especially wlw). meanwhile in touhou
"average fandom has 10 relatively popular wlw ships" factoid is actually just a statistical error. ZUN georg, who lives in the rainbow dragon cave and makes 10 girls a day with varying degrees of homoeroticism is a statistical outlier and should not have been counted

Pt I australia but i've never been there
A lot of my lovely maggots are Australian, it appears, judging by the number of Australian families I was just randomly adopted by. So this one goes out to you all, but very especially to Arthur (@howmanyholesinswisscheese) and to his grandmother's boyfriend Brian, who reminds him occasionally of me. I'm truly honoured.
Disclaimer: I did my research on tumblr, pinterest, and the first result of a couple of Google searches, because I'm thorough like that. I say part I because there is a lot.
I'm not sure what Australia is, because the education system failed me. They said it was a continent. But then a country. I figured it was both.
Unfortunately, then I learned about Oceania. Which I had thought was a made up undersea kingdom in that Barbie a Mermaid's Tale series, where people surf. But the continent is Australia and Oceania. Or not.
They have Prime Ministers. I know this, because one ate a raw onion which became instrumental in his later sacking, and another demanded to know what the odds were of a Prime Minister drowning.
He then drowned. Or maybe vanished into the Barbie kingdom of Oceania and became a merman. We will never know, because his body was never recovered, so my money's on the merman theory. Australians proceeded to name everything to do with water after him, from swimming pools to ships, because Irony.
H2O Just Add Water was set here, I think. I am not sure what that is, aside from a show where contact with liquid dihydrogen monoxide causes bodily transformation into a mermaid. Do the Australian mermaids not drink water? Not knowing any personally, I can't ask.
Aside from the concerning number of merpeople, there are also a concerning number of spiders. I love spiders, but apparently the ones in Australia will eat your flesh. After I watch Good Omens S2, I suspect I will welcome this fate.
For morons like me who see a spider and go AWW, Peppa Pig's episode on teaching kids not to be afraid of spiders was banned in Australia for endangering children and not being appropriate for Australian audiences.
Sydney is a place and it has an opera house. Melbourne is a place and it has a stadium (of what sport, I am unsure). Queensland is a place and it has Arthur's grandmum's boyfriend Brian.
There is a thing called Milo, and it is a brown powder that I assume is edible. Mums say to add a teaspoon (hence why I assumed edibility) and the children add a truckful. I infer it is nice.
There is marmite. I have known this for a while. Tourists spread a lot of it on their bread. This is a mistake. Do not. The original ad involved someone eating marmite happily, and their partner kissing them on the mouth and proceeding to gag violently. It is fermented beer waste. You either hate it or love it.
There is fairy bread. If you have sticks on it you are a monster. If you have balls on it you are smart.
I'm already writing part II. humans bewilder me.
