One big one that’s been on my brain is dancing with Billy!! I think he’d be a GREAT dancer
If you didn’t know how to, he’s immediately on it. He’s a really patient teacher, very touchy but he thinks nothing of it and very determined to make sure you’re the best dancer in the west. I feel like he’d spend hours with you in the living room teaching you line dancing, gently correcting you but he cant help laughing at certain mistakes. “Hon, I think y’were born with two left feet.” He’d laugh, but once you get the hang of it he’s taking you out dancing. Like ASAP you’re line dancing with Billy at a party or a bar and you’re making mistakes but it’s so fun you don’t even care, and seeing Billy smile so wide is totally worth the struggle to learn. And after the dance he’d have his arm around you, ordering you a drink and grinning all bright and beaming, humming that you “Learned real quick, baby. Could enter a contest!”
And if you wanted to learn slow dancing, I feel like he’s be the type of man to let you put your feet on his and teach you that way. It comes easy to him, his mother made sure he was a boy who could dance. And I think he’d hum the melody of the song if there wasn’t any music around, he’d pull you into a living room dance with no music at all besides a tune in his head and his baritone. Every now and then he’d twirl you ‘round, just watching you like you hung the stars, but otherwise he’d hold you close as possible with a hand on the small of your back, his other holding yours.
My brain just hit an old hyperfixation (is this what it's called? I hope I used the word right) and oh dear am I losing my mind now. I need to write a story I think. About this one old guy. He's unhinged. There's so much information about him and yet not enough. I want to explore his character so much. He's definitely a criminal - at least he was one - and I'm 95% sure he can do actual real magic, and he's a musician and an artist and an actor and a magician and a philosopher and a traveler and a conman and so much more and also I think he's some kind of immortal. Maybe he just has a VERY long life. It's strongly implied he was a pirate at some point of his life. He started a cult by accident several times. My conspiracy theories about him include him being a secret god.
He's also a freaking round blue raven. Someone save me from my mind.

#and I think the historical setting was important (dot and bubble felt a bit like a cop out tbh esp considering they were just in the 1960s)
i dont know if i'd call it a cope out (i think making it a futuristic ep makes that ep stronger / more relevant) but this is a good point to think about that like... the devil's cord was so white sdfshkjhjkl and in such a way that for an episode about music of the 60s, feels kinda........... tone-deaf (eyyy) (shot)
like just using the beatles was always going to feel a bit like... like i saw it described in a podcast it's like very "we used to be an empire" type of british-posturing thing dlkfjdf "we were so great ya'll, britain is still relevant, we're still relevant!!!! we're awesome!!! we've always been aweosme and colonialism was Good Actually!!!"
so on that angles it is kinda ehhh. but also on the angle that the beatles along with elvis are like... THE symbols of white pop. and then the other only singer in the episode is celina instead of like, idk shirley bassey or smth. . that's when u see this is sadly a very white show and rtd and co need to try harder (or let someone else try).
In the vibrant and ever-evolving world of best dancer, there stands an exceptional artist who has redefined the boundaries of movement and expression. Recognized globally as the best dancer in the world, this extraordinary individual transcends mere performance, transforming each stage into a realm of profound storytelling and emotional depth.
My number one top self-indulgent One Piece fantasy is the Straw Hats are in some kind of alliance with other pirate crews, including the Cross Guild and the Heart Pirates, and there is just. Tension. In the air. Maybe they lost a battle, maybe they all hate each other, who knows.
They are all together on the Sunny, glowering at each other...and Brook is just not taking this well. So he goes to his piano to do his own special kind of stress relief.
And he plays those first soft, elegant notes of Tiny Dancer.
was talking on the phone w my mother last night about gender in ballet and raised an interesting question because my mother couldn't name any female ballet dancers but could name multiple men. so i'm opening this to y'all:
who is the first female ballet dancer, if any, who comes to mind?
who is the first male ballet dancer, if any, who comes to mind?
do you think you could name more male or female dancers?
(optional) what level of knowledge about ballet/dance do you think you have?
