siffrin starting the fire involved his dagger making sparks off of rocks, which in this case would be a scissors attack, yes, but it is not their "just attack". neat idea though!

but with that in mind...what makes you think stardust is scissors craft?

What was your favorite chapter to write in chokehold?

seeing it referred to as chokehold is so funny to me cause I'm so used to seeing family bonds LOL 😭😭

and um!!! I like a lot of chapters, but I think my favorite to write was chapter 11...it has the least amount of dialogue, but it's a looooot of feeling. it's a lot of desperation and a curse at the universe. it's receiving comfort from the worst person in your life (even if you're unaware of that part). it's begging for an answer and being so, so close to it, and yet always falling just out of reach...

also I kept adding little things and it was sooooo fun to get all down c: eheheh

Family Bonds prediction that I'm too nervous to tell off anon because I think I would die from embarrassment if I'm wrong: The King can still rewind time and is going to keep sending Siffrin back until he kills the others.

aaa no need to be embarrassed!!! there have been some predictions and stuff talked about in the isatcord too and I love reading them!! some are right, some are wrong, but that's the fun part of getting it out there!! I love seeing what everybody thinks! and that includes you anon c:

8. How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]?

I'm guessing you mean family bonds? if not sorry LOL that just seems to be The One yknow since all of my isat shit blew up ///pos

I'm gonna be talking about abuse and stuff so it'll be under the cut. be careful!

the chokehold of a family bond has such a title simply because...well, ties to family, whether good or bad, can sometimes feel like you're tied to a post. sometimes that tie is loose and long, and you have the freedom to explore. sometimes you're allowed to take the post out of the ground and place it somewhere else. sometimes there's no post at all, but you have the tie around your finger, or wrist, or as a necklace...maybe your friends have the same ties as you, or your partners, or maybe even a stranger.

but sometimes...the tie is a thick, short, and heavy rope around your neck, and it forces you to stay low, stay on the ground, stay put and forever be connected to your roots. you can pull and pull and try to rip yourself free from the rope, but it hurts, it burns, it leaves marks. but when you're born with such a thing around your neck, you'd think it's normal. you'd think that's how it's supposed to be; family roots are supposed to be controlling, they're supposed to hurt, they're supposed to make you feel heavy and cold and make you feel like you're always choking...

even if you manage to escape, and you leave behind your post...the rope burn scars are always there. they're reminders. reminders that you will always be tied to such a bond. even if you learn that your ties weren't normal, and not everyone has a rope, that'd be confusing, wouldn't it? knowing that families are supposed to be gentle, they're supposed to be warm, they're supposed to be accepting and kind...it'd take some time to get used to breathing again.

and well...in the context of the fic...even with a new family to wake up to every day, eat with and laugh with every day...siffrin is still tied to that post, even if his rope is long enough to reach the house. he's still tied to what he thinks is family. he's still convinced that his inability to breathe without choking on air is normal. he's still convinced that what he needs to do is an act of love. but whether he finds the strength to cut that rope away... well, those are spoilers. guess we'll find out! teehee!
