Fallout: New Vegas: Speedrunning: Infinite Reload Dash
Infinite Reload Dashing is an extension of the Standard Reload Dash, used in NV speedrunning.
Infinite Dashing allows the player to fly across the map with little to no restrictions. It can be executed by intentionally crippling the Courier while doing setup for a Standard RD.

to some degree dumb forum arguments have been a core part of the Fallout series since the earliest days so im glad(?) to see it still. the long and beautiful continuity of humankind...
#i have been wiki-diving to sate the desire while i can't actively play the games right now#it was very funny to learn ''one of the Fallout 2 random encounters was the devs & some community members totally pwning a troll''#& then looking at the modern era and seeing people argue about the Bozar on the official bethesda forums... kissing my fingers like Chef

how does autism affect me? how do i experience life as an autistic person? well, you see, the fallout fandom wiki has a big problem with taking the fallout bible as gospel rather than simply referencing the text of the games.
for example, in fallout 2 there is a character named knight jacob who is only spoken of and never an in game npc. the guy who founded broken hills with marcus and who jacobstown is named after.
the fallout fandom wiki and the fallout bible insist that after establishing broken hills, Jacob leaves to travel on his own; this is not true.
specifically in the dialog of fallout 2 marcus says "while jacob was alive" while referring to him. there is no in game evidence that says jacob ever left broken hills, but there IS evidence that says he died there. the first paragraph in the section of dialog below is where i think chris avellone got confused and the last paragraph clears up the confusion.
i believe chris misinterpreted the "most just run away" part as jacob running, rather then a general statement about how most people dont have courage or commitment like jacob or the vault dweller did.
this misinterpretion of in game text has been bothering me since the second i noticed it. chris avellone, fallout 2 level designer, why did you do this to me? i realize its a minor detail, but its just not true. here is the only piece of dialog from marcus in new vegas referencing jacob:
this once again talks about his death rather than a departure. he didnt leave, he was with marcus until he died. chris avellone does NOT understand a warriors bond.
sidebar real quick: i think its gay as hell for two men to wrestle for TWO DAYS straight and then build a community together. maybe chris avellone is homophobic and thats why he lied in his little lore book about jacob leaving forever.
this is how my autism affects me.
#/j /j the last parts a joke. all i know about chris is that his influence on fallout lore is ruining my autistic life#this was just an excuse to info dump#fallout 2#fallout#my post#fallout lore

Transformers One Theories Part 1: Sentinel Prime and how he gained power on Cybertron (Special Guests: Quintessons)
Hello, Transformers One has taken over my mind so I’ve been rewatching the trailers and reading some interviews/articles. One thing I’ve noticed is that the marketing for this movie is mainly focused on Orion Pax and D-16’s friendship and the tragedy of their eventual fallout. However, there is little information on Sentinel Prime and the role he plays in the movie. Since I’m delusional, I came up with these crazy theories about Sentinel Prime, specifically on how he’s the villain in this story.
Before we get into my theories, here is some extra information that I’ll be referring to when explaining:
What We Know (trailers, interviews/articles, TV spots already released)- be warned, potential spoilers from articles/interviews released in Summer 2024
FYI- I will include screenshots from both trailers, so they should be images you've already seen- so no unexpected images.
In an IndieWire interview, the film was described as an “epic story about the rise of two leaders… including the start of a revolution, a years-long conspiracy and war with other aliens…”
In an interview with Josh Cooley ( aka the director), he says that he “embraced the chance to explore.. political corruption, revolution, and war”
Cybertron is currently undergoing an Energon crisis/drought (from other interviews)
There was another conflict, which involved the Primes, that occurred before the events of the movie- at the SDCC panel, they showed a clip of Sentinel Prime giving a speech about a past battle that killed all of the Primes and some veterans.
Source Material (?)
Cooley also mentioned in an interview (and at the SDCC panel) that Hasbro gave him a “bible” of Transformers lore
In a different interview, he also said that in the original story for the movie, Megatron was a gladiator. In fact, there were gladiatorial fight scenes planned, but were eventually cut out.
In addition, he and Orion Pax originally came from very different social backgrounds.
Does that sound familiar? (It should)
The “bible” of Transformers lore with D-16 as a gladiator and Orion Pax from a different social background would be the “Binder of Revelation”- which is what the Aligned Continuity (WOC games, TFP, Rescue Bots) is based on.
I’ll be referring to the Aligned Continuity as “AC” from now on. Yes, I know it sounds like air-conditioning, deal with it.
Therefore, I’ll also be talking about AC Sentinel Prime, as I believe that TFO Sentinel is heavily based on that version.
In the AC, Cybertronians initially did not know how to transform, but everyone was born with a dormant T-cog.
The Quintessons showed up later, pretending to be emissaries who wanted Cybertron to join the galactic community. They pretended to magically give the Cybertronians T-cogs and the ability to transform (they were activating the dormant T-cog). As a result, they were welcomed on Cybertron and gained public support from its inhabitants.
Afterward, they set up a global puppet government ruled by Sentinel Zeta Prime and a small council of Cybertronians. They also established the social caste system where one’s alt mode determined their role in society.
However, their facade was uncovered when a few individuals found out about their plan to sell Cybertronians.
Sentinel Prime led a rebellion that kicked the Quintessons out of Cybertron.
Afterward, Sentinel stayed as the leader of Cybertron and continued to enforce the caste system- making it the absolute way of life on Cybertron- which would later become one of the reasons for the start of the Great War.
(Taken from TF Wiki)
Now.. finally- my theories
THEORIES
Sentinel Prime is business partners with the Quintessons (sort of?)
The first trailer shows some Quintessons arriving on the surface of Cybertron. Later shots show Sentinel Prime landing in front of one of the ships. In the background, there are also two trains,Airachnid, and some Vehicon-looking soldiers. It seems that they were expecting the Quintessons. They would have brought more soldiers and weapons if they were unexpected guests. Also, when one of the Quintessons grabs Sentinel, he seems distressed but makes no effort to escape. If it was an unexpected action, he may have reacted more violently. None of the soldiers in the background react to this too- meaning that this interaction isn't new. My main takeaway here is that Sentinel has interacted with the Quintessons before.
In AC, the Quintessons secretly took over Cybertron and exploited its people and resources. What if they are doing something similar here? Some interviews said that an energon crisis/drought is happening on Cybertron, and Orion Pax and D-16 are energon miners working to help in this crisis. But what if there isn't a crisis going on? What if this is a cover-up for the truth that all of the energon is going to the Quintessons instead of the people? The trains in the background came from below the planet where the mines are- so they may be carrying energon to give to the Quintessons. But is Sentinel willingly giving the energon to the Quintessons or is forced to? If he's doing this out of his own free will, then why?
Which brings me to the next theory….
Sentinel Prime was somehow involved with the demise of the original Primes
At the beginning of the second trailer, there appears to be a monument under attack (explosions and Cybertronians running away from it). Other shots of the trailer show that this monument has the Matrix of Leadership and figures (at least 7) engraved in it. This is most likely a monument for the original Primes (and current) because other shots show statues of Sentinel Prime-they are blue and gold and have wings - surrounding it.
As mentioned previously- before the Iacon 5000- Sentinel gives a speech about the Primes and how they perished in battle. Based on the giant monument and Sentinel’s speech, it’s safe that the Primes are well known and are considered important figures- perhaps heroes- on Cybertron.
BUT- the first trailer shows the bodies of the Primes in a cave, where they are covered in vegetation- as if they were abandoned. If the Primes are considered important, heroic beings, why were their bodies left on the surface of Cybertron? Why were they not taken back to Iacon to be given a proper funeral?
….. Something is fishy here.
Like I said- this is a crazy theory, but I think Sentinel was responsible for the demise of the original Primes. Sentinel giving a speech about the Primes and the event/battle of their deaths suggests that he knows HOW they died. The fact that a battle is mentioned indicates a war or conflict before the events of TFO. This lines up with what another interview said- that the movie would include wars with other aliens.
These two pieces of information make me believe that before the movie's events, there was a war between Cybertronians (specifically the Primes) and Quintessons, who were invading the planet. To support that- in a shot with Orion Pax, D-16, and Bumblebee looking at Alpha Trion's recording, Alpha Trion is holding a blaster- he's directly involved in combat.
As said before, in AC, Sentinel was installed as the leader of a puppet government controlled by the Quintessons. But instead of being installed as leader directly by the Quintessons, he probably became leader in a different way in TFO.
Sentinel may have been under the direct command of the Primes or was one himself. Tying back to the first theory- I think he made a deal with the Quintessons. He betrayed the Primes- by leading them into a trap/battle where the Quintessons killed them (only Alpha Trion survived- somehow). In exchange for the Quintessons killing the Primes, which would allow him to become Cybertron's leader, he would give them the planet's energon. As a result, the Quintessons would have someone who would give them the resources (energon) they want.
Also- in the same clip with Orion Pax, D-16, etc.- Orion says that the recording is an SOS call- I betting this was sent when the Primes were overwhelmed by the Quintessons. Since the call never made it through, someone-maybe Sentinel- blocked it or hid it until the main cast found it.
Overall, this would be a beneficial situation for both parties- Sentinel gets control/power over the planet, and the Quintessons get Energon without spending time and resources trying to conquer Cybertron. This may also explain why no one is allowed to go to the surface- they might see the Quintessons and discover the Primes’ bodies- and put into question Sentinel’s true loyalties. There is supposedly a “years-long conspiracy” involved in this movie, which may be referring to this- the Primes were murdered, and the Quintessons have control of the planet’s resources through Sentinel, who has been lying all these years about the fates of the Primes and where the Energon actually goes.
Summary of my theories:
Before the events of TFO, there was a war between Cybertronians and Quintessons, with the Primes defending Cybertron. Sentinel made a deal with the Quintessons. He betrayed the original Primes, allowing the Quintessons to kill them, thus giving him leadership over the planet. This benefits the Quintessons because they get a leader who willingly gives them the planet’s energon. To prevent the Cybertronian population from discovering Sentinel’s role in the Primes’ demise AND the Quintessons, they are not allowed to go to the surface under the assumption/lie that the surface is dangerous.
This would be a new twist on the events in the Aligned Continuity while also combining a few elements of other versions of Sentinel into one: the jerk from TFA, the betrayer from Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and the leader who only gained power through association with the Quintessons from AC.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading my rambling. I have no clue if both of my theories are straight up wrong or somewhat correct... but regardless there will be a part 2 of Sentinel Prime Theories coming later....

hey it might be a good time to leave
leon literally admitted this community 'was never about fallout or the wiki.' just leave. go play fallout instead of cyberstalking autistic people.
your mod team sanctioned and buried the coordinated stalking and harassment of a minor, do you really tell yourselves that you can type words on the Fandomcorp echo chamber discord that will make all of this go away?
the content mod *admitted* *twice* to stalking a child. we *proved* he was working with Boink (who had changed his name and avatar to "Hand Banana") to bypass his ban & control the narrative. we have screenshots of him ignoring a minor saying "stop DMing me" five times in a single conversation. why don't you care? how have you managed to make that normal as a group of adults?
several weeks ago an admin--the SCP staffer who harassed me on tumblr for saying Nukapedia is far-right--said
"the current acting admins have agreed that NP has been far too lenient on hateful ideologies (racism/transphobia/homophobia/ eugenics/anti-semitism [holy shit dude]/misogyny/etc.) for far too long".
and yet only today do staff consider banning one of the alt-right trolls who dominate the community
they admit the space has BEEN racist and they're scrambling to treat the symptoms while continuing to protect the causes at all costs.

alright!!!!! i’ll end up drawing all the vaulties. probably. not a promise. i was supposed to post this yesterday but i had.. computer problems. anyway here's blair/the mc and wes for rad school story. before they leave the vault ofc. reasoning + payton's updated sheet under the cut.
i decided to make the mc/blair one of the vault doctors bc i think it’d make sense for them to be interested in getting the P.I.E. device since they’d 1. understand the real danger of being in a vault without a P.I.E. device in the first place; 2. how the radiation would spread throughout the vault; and because of that 3. they’d probably be one of the first dwellers to go against sakura. like THEY are the ones who can help ezra but they don't have the means/aren't being allowed to. but at the end of the day i guess the mc can be anything since they're the mc lol. also in blair’s case they grow up to be a therapist so i thought it’d be fun to do that. and they're a NERD.
their traits are good natured because, yes that’s the mc. and i didn’t think any other traits fit the mc, so small frame is specific to blair. 25% extra limb injury. chronically ill coded. tagged skills: science and medicine, because they're a doctor + knowledgeable about radiation. speech, since the mc is a diplomat at heart.
wessss!!! he's a pip-boy programmer for a couple of reasons: first, it’s a callback to shs/hss and whatever he was Doing with stolen cellphones back then (hacking/modding them and then selling them). second, it makes him knowledgeable enough to hack the overseers’s computer to get in contact with another vault + hack/modify payton’s pipboy so they can communicate with her once they’re in the wasteland.
his traits are hoarder and skilled. i didn’t think any of the traits matched him very much but i started with the gimmick so now it’s my burden to bear. anyway hoarder because he hoards secrets [laugh track]. skilled… just makes sense right. 5+ buff in every skill. idk seems like a wes thing. his tagged skills: lockpick and sneak. self explanatory. and barter because it’s the ‘bribing’ alternative to speech (wiki’s words. i thought it was fitting).
and here’s payton’s sheet updated with her tagged skills (which i had forgotten about):
i didn't want to give the dwellers traits and/or skills related to combat because they're, well, vault dwellers. they don't need that in the vault. most of them, anyway. i also decided almost all of them are going to have low endurance since it raises the stakes and bc they've been locked in a vault for 200 years. ohh. the traits/skills are lifted from new vegas. the vault jobs are from fallout 3.
also. what would the other main characters be doing in the wasteland. koh is obviously some kind of merc right. bounty hunter. something like that! what is mia doing. shes in vegas i bet.
#high school story#hss prime#pixelberry#rad school story#this is the only thing i've thought about in the last few days#hsslilly art#i was going to SAY something else but i forgot. but this post is already long enough as is#there's always a next post.#pipberry

It's peanut butter jelly T1me!
... Alright, now @alchemicallymoon doesn't have to call the authorities.
You know the drill — go check out my latest Dungeon Meshi fanfic, "Peanut Butter & Jelly." Then click that button down below to read my completely overindulgent author's commentary!
Dungeon Meshi... Ah, Dungeon Meshi.
I wrote my first DunMeshi fic "Scrambled Eggs" when Trigger's anime was beginning to air. Maybe this was a silly idea given it's a post-canon event, thus alienating the people who might've been curious to join community spaces after watching the first couple of episodes. However, I read through everything before the anime started on the recommendation of friends (including my collaborating body of spiders @trybard) and fell deeply in love.
No joke, some things in that story changed my life at the exact moment I needed it. I couldn't hold myself back when it came to appeasing the DunMeshi faithful among us.
And hey... It worked out! "Scrambled Eggs" became my most successful fic of all time, sitting at over 250 Kudos as of this writing.
I can't judge any fanfiction.net metrics because that site doesn't even have a Dungeon Meshi tag... But that's a whole other story.
That Farcille story was not the only idea I had logged in my Notes app, but needless to say that success did encourage me to continue sooner rather than later.
... Perhaps a little bit later following self-imposed hiatuses for my poll-winning Stardew Valley fic "How You Get The Girl" and the first part of my ambitious Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fic "Fallout." But I have also been doing some Meshi writing for the Dungeon Meshi Cookbook Zine?
That brings us to "Peanut Butter & Jelly." I believe it's mandated by law that all DunMeshi stories are named after a relevant food item or monster within their narrative.
In this case, the titular sandwich was my inciting incident. I've recently found myself working retail for the first time, stocking shelves at a major brand store. One day I was pushing merchandise on the aisle with peanut butters and jellies and thought, "Senshi would make a killer PB&J."
My first developmental task was deciding what kind of monster could be cooked into the sandwich. One early source I came across was a blog for fantasy author Alex Maven, in particular the article "TENDING A GARDEN OF TERROR: A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO PLANT MONSTERS IN 5E DND." This introduced the vegepygmy:
I haven't played much Dungeons & Dragons outside a "Gaming in American History" class during college, so I can't say I'm an expert in the subject. But I gathered through Maven's site and fandom projects like the Forgotten Realms Wiki that vegepygmies are forest-dwelling, humanoid rot creatures created by exposure to Russet mold spores who tend to use basic tools such as slings. They can drop skins upon death, which Maven describes as an item that "looks like a furry patch of mold. It has not much use to leatherworkers but can prove to be really useful to alchemists, healers, and medicinal experts."
A few details were simplified for my fanfiction (let's call those "creative liberties" ala Ryoko Kui's unique takes on classic monsters), but the gist still felt right: forest creatures using a weapon that fires small projectiles.
What better projectiles to find in a forest than hard-shelled nuts?
I imagined something like walnuts, but the semantics don't really matter. For the most part this was set-dressing to write a story in which the main party gets to interact, unlike my isolated Farcille piece. That's where this became a "lost chapter" set prior to the discovery of Thistle's home on the Dungeon's bottom floor.
I channeled my best Ryoko Kui absurdist cover art for the featured image, though using digital collage. Originally I planned to use full color, but a fun idea came later to desaturate things for more accurate manga sensibilities:
For comparison
The impetus to write this piece when I did was two-fold. On one hand, I had time to kill during production on "Fallout," and it only felt right to do a bit of extra prep for another Dungeon Meshi zine application I've had my eyes on.
On the other hand, I became obsessed with DunMeshi's second ED for a good while. Especially this frame with Kabru's party, and the implication that Rin is constantly on the verge of wiping her entire team on accident:
Kabru fic one day.
Later I became obsessed with DunMeshi's second OP. Long-time fans may remember when I had matching levels of anime opening brain rot for my Jujutsu Kaisen Satosugu fic "Infinitesimal Distance."
Obsession, it turns out, can be good for creating silly art.
I tend to give myself a challenge for each fanfic to help further my craft. This time, the challenge was to capture these wonderful characters in a way that matches the rhythms of the original series. I pulled from the styles of a few older pieces to differentiate stages in what Alchemically put as the manga's "kill-cook-eat" formula:
The brief Laios battle uses a Falin flashback ala the manga's Living Armor arc. I used text formatting and alternate tense to separate this moment as in my Splatoon fic "Yesterday is But Today's Memory." ... Also the action is almost directly lifted from my friend's Stardew Valley OC Lotus fighting a skeleton in "Willow."
I used a bit of funky text placement with sub- and superscript formatting to convey motion with details like Izutsumi's yawn in the post-battle cooldown period, like my ScarVi fic "Paradiso."
Senshi's cooking segment is vaguely reminiscent of the recipe at the start of my Breath of the Wild fic "Recipe to Please a Princess." I used blockquotes to convey Senshi instructions as "narration," interspersed with character reactions and interplay.
Finally, I discovered that you can set a "Heading 3" HTML format over empty text to create double-lined dividers. Thought that would be a fun way to present the final ingredients list (sans nutritional information - I'm barely qualified enough to write a recipe without looking up guides on how to make peanut butter and how to make jam).
Speaking of that splash screen... We should talk about the stand-out part of this fic.
My drawing!
That's right, I draw now. Expect to see a lot more funky stuff.
I took a figure drawing class hosted by one of my friends recently, which coincided with seeing fics written by lovely folks like @flutefemme and @duelbraids that utilized custom artwork. Extra special shout-outs to duelbraid's "Splatsville Daily's Concert Review" for inspiring this artwork insertion via a whole Getty Images pastiche.
Incredibly cool idea!
Go follow them. I'm not asking.
For my sandwich art, I looked at references for braided challah and whole grain breads (since I figured that was more natural for the setting than a "Wonder Bread" look), and drew those overtop the shape of stacked slices using real-life bread reference. The knife and plate are also based partially on utensils I used for reference.
My backdrop is simple, meant to look like the plate is atop a transition point between patches of tall grass and worn pathing in the forest clearing within which our scene is set.
Creating a recipe title card ala banners in Dungeon Meshi's anime (used to great effect with bits such as the dragon meat bundles rolling past Senshi) and an ingredient list ala the manga came later.
However, I do think it's fun that the titles look imposed over the food, rather than blending too much into the background.
===
Bonus content for those still reading along:
You can see me practicing bread on the opposite side of the page in this sketchbook. Plus, my "Fallout" teaser image is bleeding through.
===
In terms of actual writing quirks I'll be brief. My favorite part of this piece is the smaller arguments and references throughout.
Laios and Falin's childhood village having no magic uses, which means no ice cream [ :( ]. This points to the negative reactions people had when Falin discovered her own magical aptitude.
The introduction of Laios' party ending with Izutsumi just being. Izutsumi. I'd draw later attention to an "Izutsumi thinks about herself" joke with some fun gender(tm), but this early moment was meant to convey my intentions for capturing DunMeshi style.
Yes, Laios talking about using mold powers to regenerate limbs is a reference to Resident Evil Village. No, I have not played most Resident Evil games.
Chilchuck's laughter being stylized as "nahaha" draws a connection to Izutsumi's similarly smarmy sense of humor. It's also a reference to how PokeMas wrote Rika during a story event around the time I was writing this. I feel like those characters sound similar!
Marcille does ritualistic morning hair care. IYKYK.
Izutsumi flies across the sky like a startled cat in an old cartoon.
Chilchuck is tired of everyone using his lockpicking set for odd jobs like mimic meat retrieval and walnut cracking.
Laios wants to get Namari some slings to inspect!! I just think they were really chill buds, actually. He'd probably get her hyperfixations, even if he doesn't get armor.
Marcille's holier-than-thou speech about assuming there's some sexism in Senshi's Scooby-Doo party division is cut off by Chilchuck digging into the idea of the Canaries existing at all. What are they, some kinda Suicide Squad?
Izutsumi is always hesitant about their food. Luckily, this is perhaps the least monster-filled meal yet - unless you're Laios, using leftover Changeling sauce that was meant to be an ointment. He's a freak like that.
Food opinions: Senshi likes crunchy peanut butter. Marcille cuts the crusts off her sandwiches.
I actually presented a poll to my beta reader wondering whether Chilchuck or Izutsumi would chuckle first at Marcille using the term "nut butter." Izutsumi won handily.
Most divorced dad definitely made his daughters sandwiches. That's, like, the one real divorced dad meal I'd expect.
For those in the know on events in the manga, Laios noticing some droppings on the floor is a pretty solid indication of what story beat the gang is approaching within the fiction...
Finally, I know one of peoples' favorite parts about "Scrambled Eggs" was the sheer amount of food-related descriptors. I'm not sure I had quite as deft a hand this time around since most of my energy went toward dialogue interplay, but hopefully you still got your money's worth!!

Someone reposted my post about how I personally dislike the Honest Hearts dlc with a 10-12 paragraph essay about why I'm stupid and even quoted the fallout wiki at me and said I'm "intellectually lazy" and was a douchebag for "assuming that anyone who likes HH is racist" which I'm pretty sure I didn't but whatever and I wrote a serious response talking about minority coded groups and ect but I decided to look at the person blog and turns out they are racist towards Palestinians and stuff and I'll be honest I'm not gonna have a argument about what is and isn't racist with someone who is openly racist
The Fallout community is something else
#I should've been a boring Fallout 4 blog I bet they don't run into these problems as often#the fact the hh fan was indeed racist even though that was never a point I made is ironic

Fallout: New Vegas: 13th Anniversary
13 years ago today, on October 19, 2010, Fallout: New Vegas was officially released in North America. Since its release, it has been widely acclaimed by the community.
Happy 13th Anniversary Fallout: New Vegas! And thank you to all of the developers behind its production!
According to Feargus Urqhart via Eurogamer on September 13, 2017, the game's pitch document was “probably three pages” long.
It had the title of “Fallout: Sin City,” which “very quickly got changed to Fallout: Vegas and then became Fallout: New Vegas.”
Following its release, the game received six add-ons, four of which introduced new areas and stories to explore (Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road).
