I’m going to be honest, the sole reason I kinda like Fallout 3&4&76 a little bit more than New Vegas despite spending far more time and enjoying the story more in New Vegas is the whole Dunwich Eldritch Horror mini-plot line.
Half the reason I played 76 was cuz of the cryptids. Cryptid supernatural and Eldritch is my shit. I love that. It’s why I paired Kars with Sherry since I associate Eldritch with Fallout. If New Vegas had any mention it would instantly be unrivaled.
I’d buy a whole fallout game based around that, but one that isn’t a tabletop.
I should also note that while it expands across three games, it's like barely a few hours of content total with most of it being environmental storytelling. That's how much I like it.

Pictured: The Dunwich Man in Fallout 3. Instead of an NPC, he is a static object. He appears as part of a flashback scene when the player opens the first door in the Forsaken Dunwich Ruins.

(`_´)ゞ - Reading H.P love craft because even though he was a horrible person he helped create modern day science fiction and horror as well as popularizing short stories/literary magazines
╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ - Reading HP lovecraft because of Pickman’s gallery/ Dunwich borers and to write better about fallout’s horror element, which often features lovecraftian elements of mystery and tragedy.

Ron Thoughts
Now that I'm thinking about it, and I've been thinking about it A LOT lately for some reason. There was always something fucked up about Dunwich Borers.

I have a story this was last year or so. i was playing fallout 4 and i decided to clear out dunwich boers the spooky evil place just to get some loot and on a shelf in my living room is a Mr Christmas music box it was unplugged and as i get to the bottom of the horror the music box goes of and plays joy to the world in full before shutting of and as i leave just before i get out of the darkness it plays joy to the world again but just the first few seconds and since that day i have never tried to go back there out of fear actual things in my home will go off
STOP 😭 That place gives me the heebie jeebies in all the right ways, but I still get a little paranoid..hence why I don’t play strictly horror games. Thaaaat being said- I’m open to new game suggestions 👀

Okay: Fallout 4 Tangent time. I have over 3k Hours of Fallout 4 on Steam alone, and I want to say something as a person who loves this game:
One of the things that frustrates me all these years later about Fallout 4 is...it's got good writing that's just NOT fleshed out. Reading the wiki for Dunwich Borrers, like are you kidding me, that's an amazing lovecraftian story. And an opportunity for a genuine mystery. But they turn it into just another bandit camp and push the story into the background. Reading the wiki for it makes it seem 10000 times cooler than it is. They literally have a story happening pre war, and a story happening postwar, where like the prewar folks were looking for an eldrich artifact, and in the modern day all the terminals in all the bandit camps show all the bandit's with names KNOW each other. Slag, from Finch Farm's mission, literally sent people to mine raw materials, and like...you could literally have accepted a mission from the raiders that sent you down into that pit of madness and like, some raider girl could have met you outside and been like "Shit's goin nuts in there." And worked with them. Had the workers sent ahead gone mad and the newbies Slag sent to check up on them going mad, and like his lieutenant could have hired you to investigate. The mission begins with telling you to "clear out those raiders" and like doing this mission could have got them off the Settlment's back. Completing this mission could have hurt your standing with Minutemen or something, but doing it BEFORE Finch Farm and meeting Slag could have provided a non lethal option to get Abraham Finch's son back. OR you can switch it around, offering to pick up a "weird job" for Slag and going down to investigate dunwich borders on his behalf to figure out what the holdup on his supplies are. As it stands, all these raiders have names, never acknowledge each other, and all the plot and story in these locations is relegated to a few textlogs in terminals. Like seriously go read any location's information on the Wiki they all have AMAZING stories let down by either poor writing, not enough time or budget to flesh them out or whatever and like. For the first time I genuinely understand why people say FO4's writing is weaker. FO4 just feels like they didn't finish fleshing out what they started. It's like we're playing the brainstorm or first Draft of the game.

Pictured: The Altar of Ug-Qualtoth, hidden beneath the Dunwich Building.
Dunwich Borers LLC had an "abysmal" record of human safety precautions, which often led to employee deaths. This was rumored to be an intentional way for corporate leadership to preform human sacrifice.
You can read more about Ug-Qualtoth here.

I love dismembering corpses and putting into weird positions or making them wear weird things.( In fallout of course) I should also have a legend a legacy like Pickman in commonwealth. He is not that original with his raider art.
