Prompt: Ice Cream & Apple Pie

In which Lucy works in a diner and a recently divorced Cooper Howard is her regular.

“Hey Cooper, I saved you the last slice of apple pie.” She placed it in front of him with a smile.

“Thank you, Lucy. You’re an angel.”

She couldn’t control her blush at his words or his appreciative noises at his first bite of the pie she’d baked. He took a sip of coffee and smiled at her, his lovely eyes crinkling up at the corners as he spoke, “You got time to sit with me?”

She looked around the otherwise empty diner in the after-dinner lull and knew Ma June wouldn’t give her too hard a time. She’d admit to only herself that she would have sat down even if the diner were busy. “Only for a minute and only for you.”

Breaking News: Rockstar rivals, Lucy MacLean of Golden Rule and Cooper Howard of Wasteland, have apparently been secretly together for years even as their respective bands duked it out on the rock charts.

And… they just got married! A source close to the longtime rivals confirmed the news and said that, “They’re very happy. What happens in the press and on stage is not a reflection of their real lives. Coop and Lucy are very much in love and you’d be surprised by how many of their respective songs are about each other.” Be right back while we go through each band’s catalogues to see if we can figure out which, my money’s on Wasteland’s “Fire Woman” and G.R.’s “Bring Me to Life.”

After Lucy’s past much covered relationship with the now jailed Monty of The Raiders and Cooper’s tumultuous divorce from music executive, Barbara Vault, we here at ET hope they’ll be very happy together. Personally, I can’t wait to see them on the red carpet for the Grammys next weekend. Will they show up together? And could a Wasteland and Golden Rule joint tour be in our future?
