First Appearances Part 6! (Shawn Mendes Imagine)

Description: All those feelings you’ve been hiding these past couple of months, they’ve all lead up to this moment.

Word Count: 1.5k (A lot shorter I know! But I have a feeling you will be okay with it;))

Shawn was standing outside the cab, his body looked frantic his eyes were wide and he looks desperate to talk to you. You could easily just tell the cab driver to head off, then just avoid Shawn at any event you both were at but that probably wouldn’t work out in your favor. You felt like closure was the only way that would help you fully move on from Shawn no matter how much you didn't want to. Shawn was someone you met once in a lifetime, and this was it for you.

You open the cab door slowly and apologize to the cab driver who just groans in response. You close the door of the cab, he quickly drives off down the street, so much for your getaway car. Shawn looked shocked that you had actually given him the time, he watches you carefully probably taking note of your tear stained cheeks.

He doesn’t say anything for a minute or so just staring at you watching what felt like your every move, you crossed your arms over your chest comforting yourself, you stop pacing and look up at him who was already watching you in return, ‘’Well?’’ You ask him the hurt evident in your voice.

‘’I’ve missed you,’’ He confesses.

You scuff laughing almost in disbelief, ‘’If you did, you would’ve called.’’ You say annoyed. ‘’You never called,’’ You say finally uncrossing your arms now they dangled at your side, just that motion alone made you feel more vulnerable to him.

‘’I didn’t know what to say!’’ He sounded defensive.

‘’You went silent after that night, obviously something better came along,’’ You say and you see an annoyed expression on his face when you look up at him.

‘‘That,’‘ He pauses, ‘‘Is ridiculous.’‘

‘‘Oh, it is?’‘ You say pushing back at him.

‘‘Y/N, your so fucking stubborn!’‘ He yells running his hands through his hair.

‘’Why is everyone saying that?’’ You groan, that’s the second time tonight.

‘’Well you are!’’ He says his voice still slightly raised. ‘’I mean you are the most stubborn person I have ever met, you could’ve called me you know? Phone works both ways?’’

‘’What was I suppose to say? Hey hope you had fun tonight, oh by the way you broke my heart?’’ You looking at him, a look flickered in his eyes as if he was finally connecting the dots.

‘‘I broke your heart?’‘ He huffs out.

‘‘Yes Shawn, Is that so hard to believe?’‘ You ask whaling your arms up and the slap again your side. ‘‘I may be stubborn, but your so damn blind, so blind.’‘ You explain, to him. You watch as Shawn’s face breaks out into a smile, ‘’What?’’ You ask annoyed. ‘’What’s so funny?’’

‘’Y/N That night when the pictures came out, they were not what they looked like.’’ He says and raise your eyebrow at him confused, ‘’The girl was a friend, she was hammered and was in no state to be out. I took her back to my hotel yes, but she slept in the bed and I took the couch.’’ He explains.

‘‘Then why wouldn’t you just call and tell me that?’‘ You ask him. ‘’I would’ve listened, I waited for you to call but you never did.’’ You say and you see his face twitch slightly.

‘’When I got on twitter the next morning everyone was talking about me and then everyone was talking about you and how hurt you must have been,’’ He pauses. ‘’It was dumb but at the time I figured you wouldn’t want to talk to me and I had just caused you enough hurt.’’

‘‘Shawn you were the only person I wanted to talk to,’‘ You say and his face breaks out into the smallest of a smile,’‘But when you didn’t call..It just made it seem like you traded up.’‘ You says looking down at your hands fiddling with the ring you had on. You hear footsteps and when you look up Shawn was standing in front of you looking down at your face.

‘’Nobody is better enough for me than you,’’ He says sincerely placing his hand on your cheek. ‘’I think I’ve been in love with you since you hit your head on the car window the first time we went to Krispy Kreme,’’ He says, you look up at him in shock. In love?

You feel your eyes begin to water, ‘’You mean that,’’ You manage to choke out. He nods his head looking straight into your eyes, you feel him start to pull the back of your neck closer to his face. You don’t let him put anymore time between you and his lips you push your self up your lips meeting his. You felt like you almost knocked him over but he steadied himself and you his hands wrapped around your waist.

You kissed him desperately like it was the one thing you had been deprived of your entire life, and now that you had gotten a taste you didn’t think you could ever live without it again. You pull away from him, looking up through your eyelashes, ‘’I’m so in love with you,’’ you state and he looks down at you smiling cupping his hands around your face pulling you in for another kiss.

It had been a month since that night, you and Shawn were finally together and you had never been happier. You were watching him from the side of the stage as he did what he loved most perform, you watched the smile on his face beam as he jumped off the stage running around giving high fives to fans on the floor like he did at the end of every concert. You smile when he comes off stage heading straight for you wrapping both arms around you picking you up and giving you an eager kiss on the lips.

You blush when he pulls away, ‘’Amazing,’’ you say to him. He wraps his arm around your shoulder pulling you closely, he was insanely sweaty but you didn’t mind. You wrap your arms around his torso making your way back to his dressing room, he changes quickly but taking time to put his shirt back on just for you. He picks up his jean jacket and slides his hands in the sleeves before holding the door open for you. You take his hand and you both sprint out of the stadium into the black SUV, Shawn had wanted to take you.

You look up at the stairs in front of you both giving each other a side glance before both of you breaking out into a sprint up the stairs. When you finally reach the top being ahead of him he reaches his hand pulling you back and you land perfectly against his chest both of your chest rising quickly.

You glance out at the scene before you the light grazing the city, you let out a deep breath looking up at Shawn who was staring out as well. You take everything about him in, the way his hair was still sticking to his face from the concert, his breath uneven from running up the stairs. You even take note of the scar just where his face creased as he smiled, he looks down at you aware you were studying him now.

‘‘What?’‘ He asks laughing, ‘‘Something on my face,’‘ He asks taking his hand away from yours and wiping his face with his hand. You shake your head no grabbing his hand back.

You hadn’t realized how much your life had changed since Shawn, when you first met him you had the tingles but you thought nothing of it just wanting to know the boy as friends at least. But now when you look at him, you see so much more than that. You see a future and you knew that’s what he saw too. Brian and Geoff would always tease you about how in love you were but you both didn’t seem to mind partly because you both knew it was true. You were absolutely one hundred percent in love with him and finally being with him felt like a breath of fresh air after you had been under for so long.

‘’We’re a pretty good couple, huh?’’ You ask him teasingly.

‘’I hate you,’’ he says jokingly planting a kiss on your lips. ‘’But yes we are,’’ He laughs at you when he pulls away.

‘’Where to tomorrow?’’ You ask leaning your head on his chest hearing the sound of his heartbeat.

‘’Don’t know, don’t care as long as your there,’’ He says and you smile turning your head into his shirt before looking up at him smiling. That was the moment it had all built up to, everything felt right with him and you knew that no matter what came in the years to come that it would all be okay. You watch as his eyes crinkle as he laughs at you and you lean up kissing him passionately never wanting this moment to end.

It was only the beginning for you and Shawn and your relationship, but whatever came your way you knew it would be alright because the love you had for each other was the kind that came once in a lifetime. That no matter what happened you would both always end back up the right way, together.
