MY MLP CUSTOM IS FINALLY COMPLETED!! She gets the name of "Midnight Serenade" and I love them very much...

She's based on dark starfolks (Worldless), especially the moth enemy... they came out so good and it's surreal seeing them in full glory after all these months!

Oh and I used a bootleg pony as a base... that looks SURPRISINGLY like a Gen1

For my birthday this year (before I was felled with Covid!!) I asked if we could make a special trip to the Orange Circle, which is in Orange and has a bunch of fun specialty shops and antique stores! And despite hitting like 7 antique malls/resale shops with untold vendors inside, this was all I found. Almost no MLP (and if there was any it was G4 and marked up), no bottomless bins of naked Barbie’s, and generally just felt more expensive than I like. There was Disney stuff for days though, if you’re into that! I barely even found any Beanie Babies, which to me is crazy! Those guys are coming out of everyone’s ears!! It felt very “curated” which can be good or bad, a lot of eBay pricing, and while I did find some fun stuff, most of it didn’t come home with me. And I was so sad to discover that this fakie (my first find, and only pony buy!) got stained from her price sticker! The TsumTsum was a fun find at least, because I found him at the bottom of a bin, half covered in dust, rolling around with other various items! He truly felt like a rescue! (He’s the hippie yak from Zootopia!) Anyway, that’s enough yakking from me! 🤣

I decided to try my hand at customising a MLP figurine, so I decided to get a fakie pony since I don't want to damage any actual toys, nor buy a Gen 1 blank.

And I got this lass:

She's from a Bootleg known as "Rainbow Pony" and I've only seen two types: pure pink and the yellow and pink (Pictured). They have the same eyes and cutie mark.

Here's the packaging as well (She also came with a bright pink comb and brush)

But the thing is... she looks a awfully lot like a Gen 1 pony? Like besides the Fakie tail rooting, single row of hair for the mane and no Hasbro imprint on her hoof, she's almost identical to a Gen 1 in my option??? What????

this was an interesting find today.

a G1 style MLP statue, seemingly from one of those figure painting craft kits. Obviously, it got a paint job at some point.

It's pretty charming, crude paint job aside. I'd love to repaint it because there's a lot of detail in the sculpt that's getting lost under the blocky colors.

That said, I also can't find anything about this figure? I don't think it's official, as it's not branded in any way. But I also can't find any info on knock off craft kits.

I'm really curious because someone had to have sculpted it right? If there any official figure this could be ripping off? Or was this original to whatever kit it came from? anyone out there know

they're widely regarded as mlp "fakies" but I just love the design quality??? the colours all work so well together and they have way more patterns than most mlp toys. I just wanted to show them [:

Hi, I'm glad you ask! From what I gathered, these deer guys are most often called Fawnies on the internet, and they're fakes of the MLP toys (specifically the fourth generation)! According to Fakie Spaceman, they were sold around 2020 in France.

Unfortunately, I have no idea if there are any similar deer toys, but I agree that they look cute! Again, Fakie Spaceman is a really good source for these kinds of goobers.
