Natsu has always been a dork. BUT in 100 yeas quest I don’t know why Mashima is writing him like dumber than usual... And him thinking that human babies also come from eggs at this point is kinda overdone and not funny anymore. Like, it’s been explained to him so many times you would think he already understood? Man, I worry about this kid. lmao

Anyway, I guess that’s Mashima telling us: Natsu is too innocent to hook up with a girl right now. Which is why it infuriates me so much. Because he’s had character development in the original series, and he is not “too innocent baby uwu can’t fall in love” when the guy has wanted to peek at naked Lucy before and has gotten jealous of other guys staring at her (100YQ chapter 26). 

Look, Natsu has had his serious moments, and while, yes, he is a goof ball; he is our dearly beloved cute dork, but also underneath there is a very energetic, passionate guy who loves his guild and his friends who are his family; a young man who is willing to sacrifice himself for his loved ones and loves to fight for the fun of it but would never do it to harm others... I don’t even know where I’m going with this little rant anymore, but I guess what I am trying to say is that Natsu is *not* just a simple minded dork with a single interest in fighting, like he is being written lately. He is so much more than that, and I miss seeing his more serious side. Where are his personal motivations?! Where are his worries, his fears... 

Lately he is just this comedic character, ready to fight whoever whenever, with a side of naughty fan service and that’s kinda it. He is all these things, yes, but he’s also much more than that and I miss him...

And then there’s the constant dumbing-down! Natsu has had a rough life; he’s been alone ever since Igneel disappeared from his life and his family has been his guild mates, so he never had a normal upbringing and all, so you can understand why he is ignorant about a lot of things about life, but Natsu is not so dumb to fail to understand, at this point, when he is grown up and has even had feelings for someone (come on, he must know he feels something about Lucy at this point... Or maybe he’s not aware it’s romantic love, but he has felt things, you understand what I am saying between the lines here? lol tl;dr: Natsu is a big boy, and he must have learned by himself some things that were not necessarily explained to him by a grown-up), at this freaking heights, you can’t tell me that Natsu, at this point, would still not know that a freaking human baby does not hatch from an egg. Or, that women don’t lay eggs... 🙃

Anyway, Mashima, what are you even doing?? How can Fairy Tail 100YQ go from being a bit over the top with the fan service (see chapter 74! Hello!) and then do a 180 and be so darn innocent? How can the story get so serious (chapter 22) and then basically address it for a couple of panels and then ignore these intense moments happened... I don’t even know. It’s like Mashima knows he has pre-teen readers and adult readers alike, so he tries to keep a balance, but fails miserably. He’s also more focused on EZ and FT is suffering because of it; if his heart is not in it, then he could just let FT in the hands of another writer who’s more interested in the story?

Rant over. I’m sorry. lol

I just have a lot of feelings. 

Tl;dr: Mashima keeps dumbing down and playing down my boy Natsu and it’s beginning to annoy me.

HISTORY OF FAIRY TAIL(part 1)

Welcome to my first “History of '' where I am going to talk about anime/manga’s stories. To start this thing, I’m gonna start with fairy tail because It was the first anime/manga that came to my mind to do this (Don’t judge me, please). Fairy tail is the second work created by Hiro Mashima in the Weekly shonen magazine. Being the first, Rave Master at the end of the 90’s. It was published in 2006 getting a little bit of popularity, but that increased when the animated version came out in 2009 by A-1 pictures. The series still continues on with a sequel called “Fairy tail: 100 year quest”, but it publishes biweekly because the author is concentrated on his actual work “Eden zero” and other projects. I know some people have heard some bad things about this series or question why I started this with an anime/manga like fairy tail instead of better options like SAO, Tate no Yuusha, Juujutsu Kaisen, etc. The possible answers to the question will be that It hasn’t ended yet or I don't like it. This is gonna be made by parts concentrated on the important arcs with mention of little arcs. But first part only talk about the first chapter of series. I mentioned some rules on the announcement.

No time to waste, let’s start and WELCOME MY FRIENDS TO FAIRY TAIL.

The story begins with……Fairy Tail(yeah, the first chapter has the name of the manga. Whatever).We are in a palace where there is the magical council arguing about two things: The rude behavior of their two younger members; Ultear and Siegleing, and most importantly, Fairy Tail.

Now,we meet on the Train Station of Harujion where we see our protagonist with nausea issues from the travel called Natsu, and his partner Happy, a talking cat.

(Natsu looks like someone who hasn't traveled to the mountains before)

. They travel there to find out about someone called “Salamander” and after Happy lands, He forgets Natsu and the train departs.

(That’s why the dogs are more loyal instead of the cats)

. Meanwhile, We are in a shop where a mage girl called Lucy, tries to buy "keys of gates" but they are expensive. Even if she tries to seduce the seller to reduce the price, it doesn't work because he just reduces 2000 jewels(the currency in this world) to 1000 jewels and she doesn’t have another option than to buy it.

(Good luck to improve you sex appeal, Lucy). 

After leaving the shop, Lucy sees many girls looking for someone and one of the girls says that it is about a famous fire mage called “Salamander”. Hearing this,She decides to go too. At the same time, Natsu and Happy hear about “Salamander” and they run to meet him.

We see salamander surrounded by many fans and Lucy looks likes is gonna get attracted to him,

but Natsu comes and calls him “Igneel” and also gets disappointed because he’s not who is searching and decides to leave. Something that the Salamander’s fangirls don’t take well and decide to beat him(even here, the fans don’t accept bad commentaries from others). Salamander leaves and invites all his fans to a party on his ship tonight .Lucy helps natsu. In a restaurant, She invites them to eat( and we see the typical way of eating from a MC in an anime shonen) and mentions that “Salamander” was using Charm magic, something that was banned years ago. She says that she is a mage but she doesn’t belong to a guild. The guilds are mage’s associations where Mages do work and get information to them.

She wants to join one and also has one in mind. She also asks about the person who they are looking for. Natsu answers by saying that the person; Igneel, isn’t a real person because Igneel is literally a real dragon. Something that Lucy is surprised about finding a dragon in the middle of a Town.

After that, Lucy leaves Natsu and Happy and They thank her for inviting the food. Later, She is in a park reading the magazine Weekly sorcerers and looks about the guild fairy tail that caused problems during their missions and the next pages appear one of their mages, Mirajane, in a photoshoot posing in a bikini. Lucy mentions that she wants to join Fairy Tail and Immediately Salamander appears. She ignores him but He mentions He’s from that guild, Lucy immediately starts to get interested and she asks about joining the guild. He invites her to the party to talk about that personally

(obi wan:”i have a bad feeling about this”).

At night, Natsu and Happy are walking around the city and hear a conversation of two girls talking about the party on the Salamander’s ship and mention he’s a mage from Fairy Tail. Something that Natsu calls his attention. On the ship, Lucy is talking with Salamander. He serves her a glass of wine but adds something. She refuses the wine and says he adds sleeping drugs.Of course, Everything was a trap. Some dudes appear and trap Lucy taking off his magical keys to throw out the ship. He reveals that all the girl are gonna be selled as slaves, including her. Lucy can’t believe Someone like him comes from Fairy Tail.

(Don’t worry, Lucy. MC TO THE RESCUE)

Natsu appears breaking the roof ready to fight but he gets nausea when lands.(Our hero, everybody). Also Happy appears flying with his wings and takes Lucy to escape. She asks to return for Natsu but Happy can carry one person at once. They evade the attacks from the ship but they fall to the sea because his transformation ran out of time.Lucy decides to save the girls on the ship. Fortunately, She finds her keys and she uses one to summon a spirit. She reveals she’s a Spirit Stellar mage, someone who can summon spirits using “keys of the gates” and the spirit which summons was Aquarius, a mermaid. Lucy orders her to use her powers to send the ship back to the beach but Aquarius is in a bad mood because Lucy had lost her keys.

Acuarius decides to do the order of sending the ship back to the beach but including Lucy and Happy. The ship is on land and that makes Natsu feel better. After arguing with Aquarius because She is gonna travel with her boyfriend for a week and doesn’t want to be summoned, Lucy and Happy go to see if Natsu is still fine. They find him but he’s angry. Salamander sends his minions to beat him but Natsu defeats them very easily with the revelation that He’s a true member of Fairy Tail showing his mark on his arm and He says that he never saw Salamander around the guild. Happy reveals that Salamander’s real name is Bora, a mage that was banished from a guild years ago. Lucy also says he committed thefts using magic.Natsu is mad now because someone used the name of Fairy Tail to commit crimes.  Bora attacks Natsu with Fire but here two things happen:One, The fire doesn’t have effect on Natsu and Two, He eats the fire and says that the fire tastes awful but enough because he gains more power to do a big attack. One of the Bora’s men says he saw him before, the rosy hair and a scales-like scarf. That’s because Natsu is the real Salamander. He throws a fire breath and starts beating the fake Salamander with a fire punch.Being the next, his minions.

Lucy is surprised about the magic that Natsu has. Happy explains that Natsu is a Dragon Slayer, a mage who has the power to defeat a dragon emulating the parts of it like claws, wings, talon and also the breath. He learns from a dragon,the one called Igneel. Unfortunately, Natsu is overdoing it and making the port a big mess. The militaries appear, something that Natsu and Happy make them run away and also take Lucy with them because she said that wants to join Fairy Tail. Back to the council, they are mad about all the ruckus that the guild causes but Sieglain doesn’t take care of that because the world wouldn't be fun if they don’t have idiots like them.

Fairy tail (the first chapter) is a good start for the series. It shows many things that we're gonna see like the mages and especially the guilds. I like that there exist many types of mages like Lucy being a Celestial mage and Natsu, a Dragon slayer mage. We also see the authority of this magical world that seems to be the most powerful beings there.  Something that makes me curious is that Natsu gets sick when he’s on vehicles. I hope that will be explained in the future. Other things that we see are some magic beings like spirits, the existence of dragons and Happy, a talking cat that can fly because magic. Now I wanna see the Fairy Tail guild and its members.
