Yet more gifts of Appalachian summer.
I've been on a mission to catalogue as many of Central Appalachia's summer wildflowers and berries as possible for an online project I'm starting up. Above is the haul from yesterday, including the stunning orange-fringed orchid (Platanthera ciliaris), a grand summer orchid of Appalachia's wet seeps and meadows. Downy rattlesnake plantain (Goodyera pubescens), another of our summer-blooming orchids, may not be quite as showy, but its intricately-patterned leaves are quite striking. Turk's-cap lily (Lilium superbum) is also in bloom in our local wet meadows and swamps. It's distinguished from its close cousin Canada lily by more strongly recurved petals and a green, star-like pattern in the center of its flowers. A single Turk's cap lily can produce dozens of flowers from its rangy stems. At home in moist woodland edges and streambanks, summer phlox (Phlox paniculata), sometimes also referred to as fall phlox and garden phlox, produces loads of gorgeous pink or white flowers from mid-July through September. Because this phlox is commonly planted in gardens nowadays, it's hard to know if plants in the wild are true natives or escapees.

🇨🇳 chinese (hunan, sichuan, hubei)
📍 fairfax city, virginia
📅 July 2023; dinner-ish. 2nd time
🙂 overall: i'm so impressed with the variety of unique dishes on this restaurant's menu; I'm always gonna get a diff experience each time. generally tho, they deliver on mala but not so much on hot-spiciness, and i feel like their appetisers / small plates are less impressive than their larger meals. I wanna try everything on the menu before going back to the dishes that I liked.
more food pix + detailed review under the cut!
🍲 yangzhou meatball stew - ok so we were expecting a bowl of Stew with Multiple Meatballs, and out comes 2 huge meatballs and like no stew. what? it didn't have much going on in the taste department either. bok choy was also just steamed so not anything exciting there either.
this would've been vastly improved with better seasoning of the ground meat, or at least more SAUCE. I won't be getting it again
🍜 suanla rice noodle - neither the noodles nor the bok(?) choy were overcooked. the broth was fine but I wouldn't say it was particularly tasty; we added the soup from the beef stone pot to get more flavor into it lol
this was boring; I wouldn't get it again
🍗 ganghood fried chicken - each piece was crispy and the batter was tasty (good amount of salt) and thin. a standard, enjoyable eat! however the pieces of pepper in the dish just weren't spicy. that's ok tho
I'd order it again. but they also have other kinds of fried chicken dishes that also look interesting, so I'd try those first
🍲 hot + numbing beef stone pot - man this portion was fuckin GENEROUS it was honest 2 god bottomless. the beef and noodles never ended o my god. the beef pieces were large and tender and took to the flavor of the soup nicely, and the noodles were so slippery lol. I to my surprise, I found this stew to be NUMBING AF (we had to take breaks to eat this) but not that spicy? the sensation was so weird. like it made my mouth feel cold and the spiciness kinda disappeared.
it feels like tasting multiple circles of hell in 1 dish. I'd get it again
🍆🧄 eggplant w/ spicy garlic sauce - the biggest mystery of this meal was how the eggplant stayed hot FOR SO LONG. each piece had a wonderful texture- firm but gave way to the teeth; the flesh wasn't mushy and absorbed the sauce nicely. man that sauce was spicy lol it hurt and I kept coming back for more
perfection I'll be ordering this again
🦀🐖🥟 crab + pork soup dumplings - standard! skin was thin enough, and the soup tasted nice and complex. I thought the the meat inside was pretty plain; it tasted more of pork than crab.
I wouldn't mind getting it again, but only after I try every other dish that they have. they have TONS
-----
💲 price: I think the final amount was like $35/person? this place is the 1st floor of an office building and is decorated very nicely so I expected that. as a party of 5, we left VERY FULL, and our only leftovers was the soup of the hot + numbing beef stone pot and the mala eased up on us the next day lol
🗒️ other notes: none of these dishes come with rice; you have to request it (I don't think it costed anything tho). we also asked for their chili oil and it was fragrant but wasn't that spicy. oh well lmao
also we had this meal at a strange time (4pm) and the restaurant was like a little over half-full?? folks know what's up lol

I pulled myself out of bed at 7:15 in the morning scrolling through tumblr to add to this that y'all are sleeping on Virginia, no I won't apologize for the following long post.
King and Queen County. Note the corn and the racist depiction of an indigenous person's hand. This will reappear.
King William county. Not to be confused with Prince William County, which does not have a coat of arms, merely a seal.
However it also includes tobacco. Unfortunately, it does not include corn or an uncomfortable indigenous person. Unlike Henrico county
Which, while also a seal and not a coat of arms, includes corn, an indigenous person, and tobacco, an uncomfortable colonial trifecta! Will they change it? No, really, I want to know.
If you're confused why Fairfax county looks so damn British even after all this time, its because Lord Fairfax had so much goddamn money and owned like half of NOVA. On that note:
The Earl of Loudon had a much more fascinating coat of arms but Loudon County, VA just simplified it.
There is (apparently) an alternate, more complex version that apes the Earl Of Loudon's coat of arms, but its hard to replicate in vector form so I appreciate why Loudon county simplified it. While the overarching presence of the elite that made their money off of the genocide of indigenous peoples and exploitation of slave labor is certainly Peak Virginia, it does not even have tobacco leaf. 0/3, did not understand the assignment.
Middlesex County is a little crunchy but I'm relatively sure those are seagulls and that is absolutely a tobacco leaf.
The City of Hampton does have an uncomfortable indigenous person, but no corn or tobacco. The inclusion of buffalo is odd and strange as I'm pretty sure there were never buffalo in the tidewater. However, it has a blue crab, so that's like +6 Virginia cred right there.
The county of Prince George, VA (not to be confused with Prince George's County, MD, you gotta say the whole thing its like a Tribe Called Quest) has a coat of arms, but it appears to be a very recent design due to the Distinct Lack Of Uncomfortable Colonial Callbacks and instead Very Cute state bird and state flower.
Powhatan county does not need an uncomfortable reference to an indigenous person due to the fact it is named after the people that got forcibly removed/genocided here, but it does have a wild turkey, whitetail, the state flower, and I'm assuming tobacco leaf. This must be a recent thing.
gonna be real with you here I'm assuming these are griffons, but I honestly can't tell with Halifax, VA
It would be remiss of me to not include everyone's favorite county name, Goochland county (because Fauquier county, pronounched fawk-yer county, wants to remain unseen due to being incredibly racist) Not an ear of corn, leaf of tobacco, or uncomfortable indigenous person to be seen, but just look at those puppers! 10/3.
Look I don't even know where Rockingham county is or what its deal is but this looks British so I'm gonna assume some Lord owned it or whatever.
The City of Fredericksburg, VA also lookin pretty British.
Anyway there's probably more but I won't take up more of your time and I need coffee.
I don't know if different muncipalities having their own coat of arms is a thing outside of Finland, but I rather like many of them. Like, the only way to go wrong in a coat of arms is to make it boring, the best ones are the most memorable ones. Have a collection of the few that I consider the least aesthetic, most boring coats of arms of all finnish muncipalities. If you see your own hometown coat on this list, do not come at me - fix your own problems first and move somewhere else.
Bland, generic, tells no story. Unfuckable. The kind of shit you'd see on the shield of an enemy that's getting their ass kicked by the Cool Sexy Woman Knight in the first round of a jousting event in a corny but riveting fantasy movie. Now, let's look at some of the cool ones:
Striking. Distinct. Tells you a story, gives you some clue about what this place is and what is the story of the people who live here. Can occasionally afford more than two colours per coat. Now that's sexy. These, these are good. I had a hard time choosing only nine that I liked best, so I decided to divide the examples of Sexy Coats of Arms into non-animal and animal cathegories. These are examples of the cool ones with animals on them:
And as a final special mention we have Kouvola. The city of Kouvola largely doesn't deserve the bad rep it has - the crime rate isn't that high, the title of "the ugliest city in Finland" is a bit harsh since it does have some vaguely soviet/dystopian grunge brutalist aesthetic if you're into that sort of thing, and in my experience the friendliest crackheads in Finland. But all those things said, their coat of arms does kinda feature this thing eerily similar to the symbol of Chaos
#heraldry#Virginiacore#Virginia#Maryland mention#coat of arms#municipal coats of arms#the critters on King and Queen county are very uwu and very derpy I just noticed

Violation of Virginia administrative code 4VAC15-20-50. -va
Aha, but you see....there are exceptions.
4VAC15-30-40. Importation requirements, possession, and sale of nonnative (exotic) animals.
A. Permit required. A special permit is required and may be issued by the department, if consistent with the department's fish and wildlife management program, to import, possess, or sell those nonnative (exotic) animals listed in the following table and in 4VAC15-20-210 that the board finds and declares to be predatory or undesirable within the meaning and intent of § 29.1-542 of the Code of Virginia, in that their introduction into the Commonwealth will be detrimental to the native fish and wildlife resources of Virginia. . . . I do not wish to link the entire table, but the only arthropods listed in the chart are those of order Decapoda, various crustaceans including crayfish and, for some reason, the Chinese mitten crab, which I was unaware of as a problem invasive species until this moment. The document continues as follows... J. All other nonnative (exotic) animals. All other nonnative (exotic) animals not listed in subsection A of this section may be possessed, purchased, and sold; provided, that such animals shall be subject to all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including those that apply to threatened/endangered species, and further provided, that such animals shall not be liberated within the Commonwealth. In addition, there are county or city-specific exotics laws in Blacksburg, Fairfax, Franklin, Gloucester, Manassas, Petersburg, and others which become too numerous to name. What one will notice, with some digging, is that Lexington, where I am currently located, does not have any specific city or county mandates to prevent the keeping of tarantulas, as § 29.1-542 refers to vertebrate animals.
§ 29.1-542. Importation.
Live wolves or coyotes, or birds and animals otherwise classed as predatory or undesirable, may not be imported into the Commonwealth or liberated therein, or possessed therein, except under a special permit of the Board. Nonpredatory birds, animals or fish may be imported, but upon arrival in the Commonwealth, shall be subject to the laws governing the possession of such birds, animals and fish in Virginia. Any person may bring into the Commonwealth, either in his personal possession or as his baggage, on the same conveyance with him and plainly labeled or tagged with his name and address, game and fish legally taken in another state or foreign country, but in no greater quantity than he could legally possess while in such other state or foreign country. Nothing in this section shall be construed as applying to birds, animals and fish being transported in unbroken packages from beyond the confines of Virginia through the Commonwealth to another state.
Code 1950, § 29-158; 1977, c. 377; 1982, c. 73; 1987, c. 488.
And since there is no state law nor county nor city law that governs arachnids specifically... I am a -perfectly- law abiding citizen as a collector and occasional breeder of tarantulas. Haha.
#ask meme answers#ooc tags#mun spent SO LONG digging through virginia legal code#i hope you are happy anon#this question was literally sadistic and i love the sheer effort this has taken

Robyn Hitchcock - Largo Café, Los Angeles, California, February 19, 2000
The Summer of Robyn has made it to the 21st century! Hooray. At this point, Hitchcock is bouncing from coast to coast, from Maxwell's to the Largo. On this tape, he's sounding very comfortable at the latter venue, as thought the audience has been invited into his living room for a casual (though often brilliant) performance. After a solo set, highlighted by an excellent "Victorian Squid," town troubadour Grant Lee Phillips ambles onstage to accompany Robyn on keys, guitar, and backing vox; Grant sounds especially nice on the I Often Dream of Trains numbers here. He clearly has that LP memorized. The pair are also working on their comedy act and performance art, which they'd take on the road later in 2000 — the bit about Lou Rawls is hilarious.
As is typically the case at the Largo, things get wild and wooly during the second set. Robyn and Grant get into an amazing dueling Bowie impersonation battle on "Golden Years" (I think Phillips wins), and there are various improvs and rambling covers, as the duo is joined by various friends. The rare outing of Morrissey's "Every Day Is Like Sunday" is a highlight, as is the wild medley of "Kung Fu Fighting > Sound and Vision > Rock Your Baby" and more. It all kind of goes off the rails at the end as a full band emerges for some very ragged Beatles covers — maybe a little more rehearsal was necessary. But otherwise, another fabulous night on Fairfax ...
Robyn Says: I'm probably just as cynical as always, but not quite as dark. I think that's because of lots of things, probably. I don't think the world's gotten any better. But I think I've been trying to celebrate what I can celebrate. None of the evil's gone away. When you're young and beautiful and you've got all the time in the world before you, you just want to die. And as you get older and you've got less and less time to live, you kind of want to make the most of it. Even in Rock music, you can't sit there smoking a cigarette and wearing a pair of sunglasses and a mean expression on your face much past forty — after forty, it just doesn't look that cool. The alternative is to become all, sort of, cuddly and mellow — which is just as horrible.

Added note! That illustration there is from Somewhere Apart, a new/excellent book of Robyn Hitchcock lyrics + drawings. Got get your copy, for the Sacred Crab's sake!

Get to know me tag meme (tagged by @rumplefloofywoobiestiltskin)
Rules: Tag 9 people you want to know better and answer the questions.
Name: Grace
Gender: Female
Birthday: July 6, 1995, so I’m 23 years old going on 24 now. It feels like my generation is getting old so fast! Like, I can’t believe that Hilary Duff, Zac Efron,Taylor Swift, Vanessa Hudgens, Drake Bell, Josh Peck, Emmy Rossum, Lea Michele, Ashley Tisdale Dianna Agron, and Amanda Bynes are already in their early thirties! I can’t believe Miley Cyrus, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, Selena Gomez, Emma Roberts, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Victoria Justice, Sophie Turner, Ariana Grande, Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence, Freddie Highmore, Joe Jonas, Miranda Cosgrove, Anna Sophia Robb, Debbie Ryan, Jaimie Lynn Spears, and Dakota Fanning are all around the same age as me! I can’t believe we’re already in our mid twenties to early thirties! It feels like our childhoods were not that long ago, even though they were over ten years ago! It still feels like I didn’t watch Hannah Montana, The Amanda Show, Sonny with a Chance, The Wizards of Waverley Place, Drake and Josh, Zoey 101, iCarly, Because of Winn Dixie, Hairspray (2007), The Bridge to Terabethia, The Suite Life of Zac and Cody, Jessie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Glee, the High School Musical films, Victorious, Unfabulous, Sharkboy and LavaGirl, The Lizzie McGuire series, The Phantom of the Opera, The Twilight Saga, and the Harry Potter movies on TV and in movie theaters when I was a kid growing up with these guys that long ago! I still remember singing You Belong With Me, Teardrops on My Guitar, Love Story, Picture to Burn, Boyfriend, Our Song, Baby, Never Say Never, One Less Lonely Girl, and buying my friend in high school a Justin Bieber album for her birthday because she was obsessed with him back in 2012! I remember being a stupid kid in middle school and high school who thought she was so smart because she managed to read all four of the trashy Twilight novels by Stephanie Meyer in less than a year!!! I remember how fucking stupid I was as a kid for idolizing Edward Cullen’s and Bella Swan’s romance!!! I’ve matured so much since then, we all have, but it still feels like our childhoods/teenage years weren’t that long ago! We’re still relatively young adults! A lot of people older who are over thirty five, would still call us kids, but it feels like we’ve grown/are growing up so damn fast!!! It still feels like we should be babies!!! I think a great thing about those of us in our generation though is just how young most of us still look in our twenties to early thirties for our age!!! Like, I still look the same as I did seven years ago when I was sixteen at nearly twenty-four! Selena Gomez, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice,Taylor Swift, Kristen Stewart, Justin Bieber, Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, Emma Watson, Emmy Rossum, and Freddie Highmore still mostly look the same as they did over ten years ago! We’re the generation that seems to age well and/or barely age at all, so long as we take care of ourselves! We’re the age of vampires!! Relationship Status: Single, in the romantic sense, but I have my parents, my brothers, my grandparents, my aunt and my little cousins, and a cat for family.
Favorite Color(s): Any shade of pink, red, or blue
Top 3 Ships:
1). Rumbelle (Rumplestiltskin x Belle) from ABC’s Once Upon A Time, but with conditions. I love how much they love each other, and would do anything for each other when they are both in-character. I’m also a sucker for the whole “love redeems” and BATB tropes in fiction, but they also tend to be the ones that the writers love to fuck up deliberately for shits ad giggles at some point on TV shows when they get bored or lazy. That’s why I only accept their individual characters or relationship together when they are both written in-character, so mostly from S1-3A of canon OUAT and in various canon-divergent/AU scenarios thereafter. However, I feel like the same thing can be said about every other remaining main character/ ship in canon OUAT post 3A. There was a serious nosedive in characterization, consistency, and storytelling integrity after Neal got killed off in canon OUAT, and while there were moments where Rumple, Belle, Emma, and everyone else seemed to be like the characters and relationships I originally fell in love with in canon from 3B-S7, I still feel like the show truly ended most organically and satisfyingly with “Going Home” (3x11), and there were serious problems with the writing starting to show with plot versus character driven writing, rape culture, abuse apology, broken rules of magic, plotholes, and character favoritism, even before 3B in S2. But after Neal got killed off, Hook became the main lead, and they started resurrecting the dead with magic when it suited the plot, they clearly didn’t know what the fuck they were doing anymore, and weren’t trying to tell any sort of story at all by undoing everyone’s original characterizations for plot back-and-forth.Everyone was ruined by illogically ooc, inconsistent, and toxic character destroying plot driven inexcusably bad writing that made absolutely no sense, which made them all unsympathetic and unrecognizable from 3B-S7 at one point or another, including Emma, Belle, the Charmings, and Henry, the “good guys,” so I try to pretend it never happened, and quit watching regularly after S5 to preserve my sanity.
2). Jane Eyre x Mr. Edward-Fairfax Rochester from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte-Again, I’m a sucker for the whole “love redeems” trope in fiction, and I appreciate how Edward is portrayed as the “dark” one, while Jane is the “virtuous” one, but neither one of them are without their flaws that go unaddressed, which is a big problem with a lot of “love redeems” couples. Their conflicts become hypocritically one-sided.
3). Anne Shirley x Gilbert Blythe from the Anne of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery-These two started out as frenemies, then became best friends in childhood and adolescence, and then eventually got married. The perfect love story!
Last Song I Listened To: I watched and listened to the Hairspay (2007) musical-comedy film adaptation on Netflix with Nikki Blonsky, Amanda Bynes, John Travolta, Zac Efron, Queen Latifah, Christopher Walken, Michelle Pfeiffer, Brittany Snow, James Marsden, Elijah Kelley, and Allison Janney, and have been jamming out to Miss Baltimore Crabs, The Ladies’ Choice, Good Morning Baltimore, I Can Hear the Bells, You Can’t Stop the Beat, Welcome to the ‘60s, Run and Tell That, Big, Blonde and Beautiful, and Without Love a lot since remembering the music again. Does that count?
Last Movie I Watched: The Silence of the Lambs (1991) with Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins on Netflix.
I’m tagging @ishtarelisheba, @mrgoldsdearie, @sieben9, @emospritelet, @rufeepeach, @ellen729, @pinchtheprincess, @0ceanofdarkness, @thestory812 and whoever else wants to do it.

Stick a fork in cold crab omelette — the fake Indian is all done now.
She speak-um with forked tongue one time too many, and now The Washington Post, of all places, has scalped her. The smoke signals went out last night — as early as 1986 she was lying on a Texas bar application that she was “American Indian.”
Lieawatha admit-um she talk with forked tongue, only she use white-eye language, calling it “furthering confusion.”
…
So the Boston Globe story last fall claiming she’d never tried to pass as an honest injun, was as phony as a Kevin Cullen column. But hey, it’s the Globe — right, Mike Barnicle? Jason Blair? Patricia X. Smith? Why do you think the fake Indian went to a fake news rag to print her buffalo excrement?
Ugh. And that’s not the only bad news. The incredible bunko artist is busted on this morning. In an unrelated develop, Sen. Elizabeth Warren may be getting sued over some more of her despicable lies.
Because this time she put her shameful falsehoods in a tweet, not in an employment application to Harvard or UPenn law school. Hard to deep-six a tweet, especially one as perniciously false as the one she sent out last month about the Covington Catholic High School students who was accosted first by a group of Black Hebrew Israelites in D.C., and then by a nutty Indian — a real Indian, to be clear, but a fake Vietnam veteran, like Sen. Richard “Stolen Valor” Blumenthal.
…
Being a Democrat means never having to say you’re sorry. Just ask Ralph Northam and Justin Fairfax.
But now the lawyers for those pro-life irredeemable bitter clingers from the Cincinnati suburbs are threatening to sue all the purveyors of Fake News — the NYT, the WaPo, CNN, NPR, etc. — as well as the Beautiful People in LaLaLand who defamed the high school kids.
…
In receiving a legal notice demanding that she preserve her communications, she finds herself lumped in with a bunch of Hollywood reprobates, not to mention the pederast-infested Roman Catholic dioceses of Covington, Lexington, Louisville and Baltimore, all of whom went after the heterosexual teenagers much more quickly than they ever did against their pervert priests.

The 3 Ps Assessment: Parties, Political Interest Groups, and PACs
Platforms
Republicans- The Republican party’s platform is to uphold the right to keep and bear arms. I do agree with the Republicans, I think we need reform but not to get rid of our freedom to protect ourselves.
Democrats- the democratic party believes while they don't want to get rid of the second amendment there is a lot of restrictions needed such as restricting access to weapons of war. I do agree with the Democrats that we need reform but I don't believe in how many restrictions they are putting on our freedom
Libertarians- The Libertarian platform clearly safe they support the second amendment right to keep and bear arms but they do not support the prosecution of those practicing their right to bear arms. I as well support the second amendment but I think that we need restrictions
Green- I can not find the greens parties platform on guns but I assume since they do not write that they want to change that they are fine with the current laws on guns. I am not fine with the current situation with the second amendment. Guns are too easy to access.
Peace and Freedom- I also can not find anything on guns for the Peace and Freedom platform however they seem very against violence so my assumption is that they do not like the second amendment. I do not agree that we should get rid of the second amendment. I think we deserve the freedom to protect ourselves.
I agree the most with the Republican platform. Although we do need restrictions. We are Americans and we deserve the right to protect ourselves and have a gun as a precaution.
1.National Rifles Association
2. The NRA is a national interest group that fights to defend our second amendment right to bear arms
3. The NRA believes in having the US stick to its core beliefs by not restricting the second amendment. They use their grant to provide educational sessions that promote gun safety for owners of guns, future owners, and hunters. They believe in gun safety. They believe in educating all ages on the right and responsibilities that come with having a gun. They want to defend the second amendment right to bear arms. They believe that the second amendment is a core value of our country and has a lot of history. They believe and using their funds to support all Americans.
4. The NRA has recently announced that they will endorse Pete Stauber, a Minnesota District 8 Congressional Candidate. Stauber believes in repealing the laws that restrict the second amendment. Therefore, the NRA is using Stauber’s campaign t advertise for gun safety.
5. The NRA headquarters are located in Fairfax, Virginia. However, there are California events that are put on by a subdivision of the NRA know as the ‘Friends of the NRA”. They are not local though.
6. They do have volunteer opportunities to hang posters sell tickets or regulate firearm safety classes.
7. I think it is so cool that they have so many subdivisions of the NRA to make it not only national but also to provide opportunities for people to attend their events all over the state they live in.
Gun Owners of California
1. The Gun Owners of California is an organization that supports our second amendment right to bear arms.
2. The Gun Owners of California believe that we should protect our right to bear arms in the state of California. They believe the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights are priceless documents, based on eternal truths and are as valid today as when drafted by our nation’s Founders. They believe the Second Amendment guarantees the First Amendment and all those that follow. They believe the Second Amendment has been under severe attack from many political fronts, as well as from the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government and thus must be vigorously defended. They believe our efforts to defend and protect the Second Amendment are opposed by those who are just as dedicated to abolishing it. They believe the battle is primarily political and will either be won or lost by means of who is elected or defeated in the State Legislature.
3. Some current legislation would be the bill that has been passed with new age restrictions of who can buy a gun. Now it is that you can not be under 21 in order to buy a guy.
4. They do have events that I can attend but they are not very local. For example, there is a Vacaville Crab Feed in two weeks.
5. They do have opportunities to volunteer but it is mostly fundraising.
6. I find this interest group significant because they are specifically for California making their events more frequent and widespread across the state.
7. I find both of these interests groups very similar especially because they both support gun right and believe something in the Bill of Rights is the core of this country and should not be changed. However, the state interest seems more organized but the NRA seems for successful. Their target audiences are Gun owners and people that often use guns and people that might need guns for protection eventually.
The Safari Club International
1. The Safari Club International Pac supports gun rights and your right to protect yourself under the second amendment
2. They have raised $591,623 in total, They have spent $490,316 in total, and have $77,190 on hand.
3. They spend $316,000 on Republicans and $13,000 on Democrats.
4. It seems like most of the donors are big seafood companies, retired, or self-employed, I think the self-employed and retired donations reflect people fight for their individual rights. I am not sure of the correlation between seafood and guns.
