ok well. after making a ~~~whole foods~~~ batch of cookies that i completely DESTROYED yesterday i fumbled again today and have some olive oil cake in the oven..............olive oil cake after some fresh gnocchi e fagiole......................dinner of the gods

I'm a fan of french onion soup, although it's a bit rich for me nowadays.

I like baked potato type soups and the clear soup you can get at Japanese restaurants (not sure it's actual name.)

I also really like pasta e fagiole, but I prefer it if I'm dipping something in it.

It doesn't sound super appetizing, but one of my favorite soups is homemade cabbage soup.

But I think my favorite soup is something I've only had once. It was a soup at some sort of Mexican style restaurant I think. There was a type of pepper in it that made the soup spicy and absolutely delicious, but I can't remember what it was or what the soup was called.

My favorite soup is but a memory... 😔

point of clarification: ramen and udon are in fact soups, i just mean that ive never really thought about them that way, in my head the noodle takes precedence over the soup.

like i’d never say “i could go for some ramen soup” the way i might say “i could go for some tomato soup”.

but then there are other soups like borscht, gazpacho, and ceviche that i would never tack the word soup onto the end of but definitely think of as soup.

weird that ramen and udon are “noodles + broth” that are considered a noodle dish but chicken noodle soup is a “noodles + broth” dish that we consider a soup

What’s your favourite comfort food meal?

I miss talking to you guys, finding out how you are. It’s minus 2845956 degrees here and cold all the time, I got my booster shot and feel like hell, and obviously in Italian culture so much of being nursed back to health is done through food.

I think I have a few. Growing up, whenever I was sick or not feeling well, my mom would make me a spaghetti cacio e Pepe. I swear, I can never make it as good as she does--but I still default to it when I’m feeling down, or when I used to travel for weeks at a time it was always the first meal I’d make when I came back home.

But there’s also a special place in my heart for pasta fagiole, which my grandma used to make me. Even as a little kid she would give me a steaming bowl full of it and it would be topped with a super hot, Calabrian chilli sizzled oil. I ate super spicy even as a kid :-P
