Celeste the Faerie Ixi and her faerie Kadoatie! One thing a bout Neopets, I always was confused by the word Faerie vs Fairy. If anyone knows the reasoning for it, let me know! 😮

If you're reviewing petpets, can you also review my favorite creature of all time, the Slorg

Slorgs are mostly just normal slugs, but let's face it, they have a great personality and that's what matters. Their overly joyful mouths and somewhat spacey eyes (not on eyestalks, but at least above the head) are delightful.

Slorgs, like many of the other petpets reviewed so far, have benefited a lot from TNT giving them extra attention. While not quite as popular as something like Meepits or Kadoaties, Slorgs still have a place in Neopian pop culture, having dozens of colour options and occasionally popping up from time to time elsewhere on the site in games like Attack of the Slorg and that one poll you forgot about until just now.

Visually, the spots are cute and the expression is perfect, as previously mentioned. The only drawback is that the shading is way too flat, something which is fixed on some colours but not all of them.

Favorite Colours:

Yellow: I have to give the Yellow Slorg a shout-out for one reason: instead of literally just being a Slorg colored yellow, TNT went out of their way to make it a a banana slug, which I respect. Also, the shading is much improved on this one.

Mutant: You really can't go wrong with an extremely fucked-up mutant, and the mutant Slorg delivers with a salt-based design. Look at that face. He has seen unspeakable horrors

Plushie: Another one with a lot of effort put into it; the sock concept is delightful, especially when this could've easily just been a regular Slorg with some stitch marks. I also like the red/green palette and the little detail of the tied-off tail.

Faerie: Honestly this one's nothing fancy and there's no reason for me to like it as much as I do, but that face is just adorable and the way it's actually looking at its own little wings in glee is too cute. Also, the pink and blue colors are nice.

They've also introduced a 'daily quest' feature that gives a shitton of rare, retired, and expensive items as rewards for basically doing a set of simple tasks like 'feed your pet' or 'play a game' 7 days in a row.

Panicked ultrarich players who have been hoarding rare, practically unobtainable items are panic-selling now, afraid that their precious multi-hundred-million worth items are going to plummet in price. Things like exorbitantly priced pet backgrounds, paint brushes, retired petpets and stamps are all part of the prize pool. Regular and returning players are delighted, not just at making bank, but also because the panic-selling means they have a higher chance of obtaining dream items that they wouldn't have otherwise.

god i wish i wouldn't have to explain the intricacies of the neopets economy to you guys to give the full context for this but. the new neopets team that took over from jumpstart pledged that they were going to curb the inflation of rare items, which is great because a lot of rare items are worth literally hundreds of millions of neopoints, they are unbuyable unless you've been playing actively for 20 years. they did this earlier with a site festival that included random loot boxes, some of which had Unbelievably Fucking Rare And Precious items worth 200 million neopoints apiece.

well.

today they have gone a step further. by releasing this year's trick-or-treat bags. and having the trick-or-treat bags be stuffed to the brim with unbelievably fucking rare stamps, weapons, paint brushes, defense magic, and other unbuyables. (all prohibitively expensive and in-high-demand types of items.)

jellyneo, the premier neopets website, has recorded prices of some items plummeting from 2,000,000 neopoints to 4,000 neopoints IN THE LAST THREE HOURS. this is when most people haven't even heard about the event or OPENED THEIR BAGS YET.

and of course. cherry on top. 20-year-old account holders are crytyping on the site events neoboard about how mean and cruel it is to make rare stamps part of the prize pool, because their entire identity hinges on being part of the neopian bourgeoisie, and they are having MELTDOWNS over their assets being devalued until they're part of the lowly proletariat.

Her godtier form looks like a neopets faerie so here she is meeting some of the more cat-like pets and petpets. A rainbow wocky, split kougra, glowing kadoatie, meowclops, blue gathow, invisible anglepus, pink gruslen, mauket, liobits, and disco schnelly.

“Thanks for taking Glossy in on such short notice, my house is a bit crowded lately.” Rigel spoke into the phone as he stepped off the flying cloud carpet and his feet touched down on the pillowy white lawn. He could see the main floor of his home wobbling from activity inside, shaking the walls of the flimsy cardboard second floor, his cloud home nestled securely atop the structure by faerie magics. The stained glass windows lit up with flashing coloured lights, then darkened as he saw  shapes hurriedly moving inside.

“No worries Rigel, I’m always happy to take her in!” Cregan’s excitement was clear and he could almost picture the smile on her face. The strange chocolate kadoatie had grown on her over the years, and the alien doted on her like any other petpet. He wished he had that kind of time to spend with the kitten...

As he ended the call he approached the front door, managing to grasp onto the wobbling handle and open it. The overlapping conversation that had filled the room quickly quieted as a dozen faces turned to him. Familiar faces, his face. Dozens of Rigels from across the multiverse, meeting on the main floor of his abode, surrounded by towering palettes of juice boxes that nearly reached the cardboard ceiling. His furniture could not be seen- perhaps buried beneath the juice- but he had a feeling the other Rigels had jettisoned it off the edge of the cloud into the oceans below.

Rigels eyes fixed on the only familiar structure left in the gelatin room; a set of cloud stairs that led up to the second floor. On the top step sat a Rigel who loomed above the rest, adorned in strange regalia. This ring-leader Rigel eyed him warily, and the room held its breath, waiting.

Rigel pinched the bridge of his nose and peered over the rim of his glasses at the room before speaking; “This is too many. Way too many. I said you could grab ONE SNACK-” as his voice rose he took a step forward, feeling his anger simmering. Normally he wasn't confrontational, but he was arguing with himself- literally- and knew what would best communicate his point. Before he could take a second step however, several Rigels moved before him to form a wall of bodies between him and the others. Clearly, even though this was HIS home, HIS universe, power had shifted. The ringleader-Rigel straightened up, and the eyes of the sea of Rigels darted in their leaders direction.

“Welcome, brother, to the House of Rigel.” He spoke slowly, voice resonating in his chest and booming off the walls, filling the room like the rumble of thunder. 

Rigel was not impressed. “This is MY house, dude. My ground rules were pretty clear; you guys can come hang out and grab a snack, but this-” he gestured to the years supply of juice “-was NOT done with my permission. You have my number, you could’ve just call....” his voice trailed off as he became aware of the eyes shifting back to him, filled with desperation. They thought he was going to rat them out and send them back to the void, or call toobes and-

He stepped back through the threshold of the door. This situation was out of his control, and trying to deal with a cult of Rigels with nothing to lose would not end well for him. He wasn’t sure what he would do about this, but he wasn't going to stay to get imprisoned- or worse- in his own home. 

He quickly kicked the door shut the moment he was outside. He could hear a rising murmur of voices as the walls wobbled with the reverberations of the slammed door. He was off the cloud and riding the small cloud-carpet back to Neopia and the safety of the ground in moments. Looking back, he saw the door open, a flood of jelly kyriis stepping outside. They were led by the ringleader, who gazed down with a frown. Their eyes locked a moment before his carpet slid below the cloud layer and his home was out of sight, along with the mob of his other selves. 

He had wanted to help them- after all they were him- and he knew the horrors of the grey void between dimensions. He would not want to be damned to that fate either, but clearly something had to be done about these Rigels, now inter-dimensional squatters. It was getting harder to keep this secret, and the growing knot in his stomach began to twist tighter as he pondered his options.
