I just cooked up a literal dream cologne for my bestie as a going away present and he is going to be SO HYPED to receive it. He knows he's getting an update of the one I made him for Christmas for his birthday, but he's got no idea about this one. I've been taking literal notes on what he's been yearning for in a fragrance, I used jasmine essential oil as my volatile extractive to get the fullest fragrance notes out some of the other components, I'm a fucking genius. It's giving everything I want it to give. He's gonna love it.

WIP title ask game. (Hopefully I'm doing this right.)
(I'm going to use the person who tagged me as a template)
Imagine my surprise to come to tumblr and find more likes on that one ridiculous AI and Mission impossible post, and that @flock-from-the-void tagged me for this game. Thank you so much (love your username btw)
I have never played a game before :0 So hopefully I'm doing this right.
Rules: Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! Then tag as many people as you have WIPs. (The question is.... do I know enough people? Oh noes, I'm introverted even on the internet)
I'm sending Anuli to clean out the crickets from the ask box, and fae will be answering questions for faer story.... which means I will have to take pictures of the doll. Hopefully this will give me motivation.
Anywho, I'm going to include the chapters in the works for the Land of the Fallen Fairies, along with the other chapters (Anuli will answer all the Land of the Fallen Fairy questions, and some protagonist void will answer any questions from their story)
The Land of The Fallen Fairies :
The Place of Tethers
The Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
The Mother of Guardians
Chapter four
rando snippets
Houseplant one-offs
(yes, I did these for school)
1920's algebra
ARGeometry
Statistics, probability, Quantum mechanics, and teddy bear warriors
Fantasy cell microbiology
Mundane Magic series
rottmnt fandom/sisters AU

[ Close walkman and press play. ]
QUEST STEP: INVESTIGATE THE MYSTERIOUS WALKMAN (complete)
"Give that walkman back, or I swear on all three of my fucking lives, I will-" they began to threaten, but it was too late.
The play button was clicked. The tape began to play. Knives was thrown toward the device, the exo desperate to destroy the offending material before it could reach their non-existent ears, but it was dropped to the ground to the ground in shock before it could be struck.
Apollo stepped back, their hands shaking uncontrollably as the recording on the tape played...
Two voices rung out betwixt the ratting of gunfire, and the high-pitched whines of energy weapons.
One has an electronic overlay. It's familiar. This is Apollo's voice.
The other is decidedly more organic. This voice is unfamiliar.
"...I thought I'd find you here," the unfamilar voice stated, almost fondly. "The fleet is almost ready. Come with us, Apollo. We'll explore the cosmos together, just like we always wanted!"
The shuffling of gravel and asphalt could be heard in the background, as though one of the two conversants had just stood up from a crouch.
"About that..." Apollo responded. "I see New Monarchy colors filing onto your fleet."
Gravel crunched beneath feet as the audio indicted that Apollo had turned to face the other voice.
"You all wanna ditch this planet 'cause the City was attacked, with a bunch of the traitors that fucking attacked it? How does that make sense?"
"I-I don't-" the other voice attempted to respond.
There was a pregnant silence, a muffled explosion bursts in the distance before the voice responds.
"Threes, darling, please..."
"Don't you fucking call me that, Set," the exo interjected. Their synthetic voice wavered. "Not unless you plan to stay."
"Wh... You know I can't do that, Apollo. You know why I can't do that, Apollo," the other person - Set - responded, putting emphasis on their name, faer voice getting closer.
"So you're just gonna cut and run, leave these people to die, because some troublemakers can't accept change?"
"The Last City is doomed, Apollo," Set barked back. "There is no future here!"
"We are Guardians, Set!" the Gunslinger implored the Stormcaller. "We've always made our own fate! We kill gods when we work together!"
Set gave a sort of watery half-chuckle.
"Y'know, I've always found that hopeful streak of yours beautiful, Apollo," the Warlock sniffled. "But now isn't the time for hope. It's the time for action."
"Then don't go!" Apollo begged, their voice cracking through their voice module. "Please... we can fight whatever comes for us... together...!"
There was a sniff picked up over the recording, though it was unclear who it had come from.
"...I'm sorry, Apollo. I just... I can't believe that. I want, to, but..."
"...But what, Set?"
"What if we die our final deaths fighting a losing battle...? I can't lose you, and I can't lose Starshine!"
Apollo let out a scoff.
"What if, huh? What if I go with you, and whatever is out there is more dangerous than what's gonna happen here?"
Another pause. A moment of silence.
"It's all a gamble, Set," they continued, their voice softer now. "Not even the Vex, with their Forge Worlds, and star-powered matrioshka brains have a perfect handle on the future. Not where it concerns the paracausal."
There's another sniff.
"I personally like my odds better here," Apollo finished. "And, I'd prefer that gamble if you were here with me."
A wavering, choked sob bubbled from Set. The crunch of gravel indicated Apollo, stepping closer to comfort their terrified human companion.
"Stay. Please... we'll take our future into our own hands. Stop the Darkness. Live here, on Earth, the beautiful blue planet humanity first emerged on!"
"I-I..." Set sobbed.
"I need you, Set... I need to gamble on us... BOTH of us... making it through this alive...!" Apollo implored.
"I..." the Warlock attempted again. "...I can't take those odds, Apollo... I'm sorry..."
The Hunter made a noise like they'd just been stabbed in the gut. And judging from the expression on the Present-day Guardian's face, it probably would've hurt less to be stabbed.
"...So that's it then...?" Apollo questioned, their tone shifting. "We're over...? Done in by fear, and a mutable future that has yet to come to pass?"
"WE SAW YOUR FUCKING GRAVE IN THAT PREDICTION ENGINE, APOLLO!" Set roared. "You, me, and Helios, listening to Saint giving your FUCKING eulogy!"
"I don't plan on dying any time fucking soon, Set! I don't give two shits WHAT some flawed supercomputer thinks is gonna happen!"
"It's all the proof I fucking need to know we're all dead if we stay here! If you die, who the hell can survive?"
Apollo swore under their breath.
"I've seen firsthand how bad the Vex are at understanding us!" The Gunslinger challenged. "And if you had half the fucking spine needed to see that, you wouldn't be running off to gallivant through the fucking stars with traitors!"
"Excuse me?!"
"I said what I fucking said. I can't believe I fell in love with a fucking coward."
"FUCK YOU."
"It'd be better than fucking talking to you at this point," they retorted. Gravel crunched as they turned away from their now former lover. "Goodbye, Set."
"N-no... W-wait- I didn't..."
Apollo, judging from the sound of footsteps, had begun to walk away.
"C-come back, please...!"
"...If it's any consolation, I really don't want you to die either... I hope you stay safe, wherever you end up going."
"Stop, Apollo... please just fucking stop...!"
"I love you, Set..." they croak. "But I have a world to save. And you said yourself you can't take that gamble on me."
"No...!"
"I'm sorry."
Set's desperate sobs slowly began to turn into a building growl. The sound of footfalls stopped.
"Wh... my radar turned..."
A sound like thunder boomed through the recording, and the buzzing of electricity became the desperate wail of a jilted lover.
"What...!?"
There was a shuffling and skidding, a stretched boom, familiar to Guardians as the dreaded sound of an incoming Chaos Reach, followed by a second boom, and the familiar ring of a single shot of a Golden Gun.
And all.
Goes.
Silent.
"...A... poll... o..."
"N-no..." the exo's voice rung out through the silence. "N-no, no, no, no, I didn't mean to- it was reflex, I-"
Crunching, irregular footfalls presumably bring Apollo back to Set's side, as the slow crackling of flame emanated from nearby.
"...S-sor... ry..." were the Warlock's final words, before presumably disintegrating into Solar light and ash.
The sound of a transmat firing swept the recording, a new voice crying out at the guardian.
"What did you do...?! Fae just wanted you to come WITH faer, you stubborn asshole!!"
"I-I didn't... fae just... S-Set... I..."
The stammered half-sentence was cut off by the sound of Apollo, scrambling to their feet, stepping backward, and running.
The recording cuts off there.
"...So." Apollo stepped forward, body tense, voice shaking.
"...Are you fucking happy, now that you got to witness the second worst day of my third damn life?"
The Guardian snatched the device from the ground.
"Don't fucking answer that. I don't give a shit how you feel."
Apollo would punctuate their remark by transmatting away.
#Balanced on a Knife's Edge [ic; apollo-3]#[verse: unspecified]#// they have... an interesting reason to have an audio recording of this. mostly to do with the nightmares on the moon and the leviathan.#// zavala had safiya as a nightmare. crow had uldren sov. caiatl had ghaul. and apollo had set.#// and the recording was pulled by seraph at their request as an attempt to work through the pain through exposure. it didnt work. clearly.

ride to nowhere
himiko just wanted to be a regular civilian for a couple of weeks, but the universe clearly thought otherwise.
✶彡 xu shangqi x nb!original character
✶彡 movie scene rewrite!au, avenger!au
✶彡 paragraph format — 1.6K words
masterlist
[gif’s full credit belongs solely to its owner]
๑彡 an edited version of this is now available on my AO3 :]
It was only supposed to be a mundane, non-Avenger type of day.
Miko even took the liberty to officially file a notice of absence, instead of just flying over to the opposite coast without letting faers/her teammates know. Granted, fae/she only stuck a sticky note on the fridge and called it a day, but fae/she knew it’d do the trick.
I’ll be in California for two weeks. Do not contact me unless the world is ending. — Miko
In faers/her defense, the Avengers, as a team, is currently going through a transitional period. Thus, as a result, it’s quite tricky to get away for some well-deserved personal time off. If fae/she had gone the legal way of filing a leave of absence, there’s no telling when it’d get approved. More likely than not, another national threat would’ve emerged by then. (Fae/She knows how those antagonists are — they just show up without warning, whenever and wherever they want. None of them are as courteous and considerate as that Phantom Thief Kid in manga, much to faers/her dismay.)
And so there goes faers/her hope of having a peaceful vacation — literally already out the window on the morning of faers/her second day. (Even worse because this is technically faers/her first day to be out-and-about, considering fae/she slept all day yesterday due to flight fatigue.)
Fae’s/She’s too far back to hear what they are demanding to the dude in a red and gray jacket, but faers/her instincts are telling faer/her it won’t end well. There are easily four aggressors in total, although one is still blending in with the other passengers until their cue comes.
Miko can’t judge whether the dude in red and gray jacket can fight since his figure is somewhat blocked from faers/her view; but, even if he can, the odds is still one-to-three: they aren’t really in his favor— Oh.
"Excuse me," fae/she gestures to the man next to faer/her to let faer/her through. Based on how he looks, and how he’s staring intently at the fight that just broke out with a serious look, he seems to be with the three men that are currently scuffling with the dude in a red and gray jacket. Unfortunately, fae/she can’t take him down before he joins the fight — partly because it’d put faer/her in offense rather than defense.
Truthfully, the stranger in red and gray jacket is handling himself well. However, fae/she isn’t rigorously trained to combat any kind of universal threat just to stand back and watch someone else put their life on the line. Just when fae’s/she’s about to pull faers/her weapon out, though, fae/she felt faers/her phone vibrate from faers/her pocket.
Hey, Miko, are you almost here? Cassie and Luis—
That’s only as far as fae/she has read, unfortunately, because fae/she felt someone pass by faer/her: it was none other than faers/her former seat mate and he’s heading towards the dude in red and gray jacket with a determined look on his face.
"Holy shit," Miko cussed under faers/her breath as fae/she tried to put faerself/herself in between faers/her former seat mate and the stranger clad in red and gray as fast as fae/she can while the bus continues to travel towards its destination.
Once positioned where fae/she wanted, fae/she let faers/her weapon expand. Courtesy to Shuri and her Wakandan tech, faers/her staff has upgraded features. Aside from its ability to elongate (and retract) and cause damage from a single hit, faers/her weapon of choice is stronger than ever with its body now completely made from vibranium and applied technology akin to T’Challa’s Black Panther suit. Furthermore, as per faers/her request, Shuri also kept the "stun gun" feature in faers/her new staff (a handy one, honestly, especially whenever fae’s/she’s trying to avoid a full-blown confrontation).
When Sinra’s standing next the Spider-Man and the Captain Marvel, faers/her weapon don’t seem much — but it does its job. Fae/She just despises it whenever the one fae’s/she’s against can easily split it in half. Kinda like how faers/her former seat mate potentially can.
"Aw, c’mon!" Miko voices faers/her protest when faers/her former seat mate’s amputated arm grew into a sword blade. "Don’t get too worked up now, seat mate."
"Who are you?" The lady that’s presumably friends with the stranger in red and gray asks.
However, before fae/she can even think about replying, someone else already answered on faers/her behalf. "Oh, my god, Sinra’s here! An Avenger’s here!"
"What’s an Avenger doing here in San Francisco?" Miko hears the person behind faer/her wonder under his breath.
"Vacation," fae/she answers in a whisper, "supposedly."
"Give me the necklace," faers/her former seat mate demands, "and no one gets hurt."
"Listen here, mate," Miko hardens faers/her stare at faers/her former seat mate, "I don’t know what’s the deal with that necklace, but if dude was willing to take down three men for it, then I’ll sure as hell help him keep it from you." In instinct, Miko even twirls faers/her baton to signify faers/her acceptance of the challenge — or, rather, faers/her readiness to fight.
"Do you have a backup?" The dude in red and gray asks faer/her after he moves from behind and takes the spot next to faer/her.
"Let’s hope we don’t need one."
Just as it always been, especially for someone like Miko who fights battles for a living, the actual fight is a blur. Fae/She remembers bits and pieces of instances from it, like how faers/her combat partner told the passengers to move to the front of the bus and how fae/she used faers/her staff to completely separate the second half of the extended bus from the first half. However, fae/she can’t remember when faers/her former seat mate (who fae/she heard faers/her partner call “Razor Fist” — which makes perfect sense, but fae/she still prefers the nickname fae/she bestowed him) managed to snatch the necklace from faers/her partner’s neck — nor when he managed to slash faers/her clothes.
"I’m sorry I couldn’t stop him from taking your necklace." Miko apologizes as fae/she watches the other passengers exit the wrecked bus. "I’d still help you get it back, if you’d let me."
"Your clothes is ripped to shreds and you’re worried about my necklace?"
Fae/she turns faers/her head to look at him, with one of faers/her eyebrows raised. Besides being a questioning look, faers/her overall expression can also be read as a look of judgment — as though fae’s/she’s looking at him like he’s crazy. "Well, yeah? I can tell that necklace means a lot to you, you know." As an Avenger, Miko has grown to always put faerself/herself after others. To faer/her, faers/her own interests and welfare always come in second — and ultimately not a major concern. "Plus, I bound my chest this morning, and his blade didn’t cut through the tape, so I know no one can actually see anything."
"That’s true," faers/her combat partner agrees thoughtfully while taking his jacket off. Leaving himself in his white button up, he then hands his red and gray apparel to faer/her, "but here. You should wear this, too, since it’s still cold out."
"Oh, no, no. I couldn’t possibly—"
"Just accept it, it’s okay," he insists by moving his jacket closer. "You wouldn’t be any less of a superhero if you accept help from a civilian once in a while."
Miko, once again, gives him a judging look, albeit this time it’s because fae/she find some of his words questionable. "I highly doubt you’re just a civilian, based on how you took down those three guys with minimal effort, but—" fae/she shrugs— "I wouldn’t force you to tell me."
(Fae/she would never tell him fae/she knows, but fae/she definitely noticed how the tense on his shoulders built and then quickly evaporated as fae/she spoke.)
Silence follows as faers/her words sink in between them. Faers/her current companion seems to have nothing to say — until, eventually, he finally did. ". . . So are you going to take the jacket?"
"Not until you give me your name first," fae/she chuckles lightly, "I think I at least deserve to know that much, don’t you think?"
"Sure, that’s fair." He puts his hand that’s holding onto his jacket down to his side and faces faers/her completely. "Well then—" he offers his other hand for a handshake— "you can call me Shaun."
Miko accepts his formality, "My name’s—"
"Himiko Alfonso Tanaka!" A voice suddenly bellows outside the wrecked bus before fae/she can say faers/her name. Fae/she doesn’t even have look out the windows to know for certain that it’s Scott Lang.
"—Yup. That’s my full name." Fae/she chuckles as fae/she lets go of his hand, more so at Scott’s perfect timing rather than slight embarrassment. "Feel free to call me Miko, though, that’s what everyone calls me."
"Are you alive in there?!"
Shaun, once again, offers his jacket out to faer/her. "Looks like your ride is here," he nods towards the windows behind faer/her and waves his empty hand with a smile.
Miko scoffs in amusement, then takes his jacket at last. "Don’t think you’ll get rid of me that easily." Fae/she turns and begins to walk away while fae/she puts his jacket on. "You’ll see me again soon, Shaun."
"I don’t doubt that," Shaun whispers to himself as he watch faer/her jog down to a parked black car. "See you then, Miko."

Hey my friend! First off can I just say I use fae pronouns too, and everyone finds it strange that I chose them so seeing that other people use them too, just YESSS!!!
But anyway I would just like to point out, if no one has before, but in Unlocked in the registry file Keefe’s says something that caught my eye. It has a section labeled, “unreasonably high standard” of which Keefe comments that the person writing it got it pretty right, and that ‘I guess even the council knows my dad’s a jerk who freaks out all the time because I‘m not a mini-him. Who knew?’. So the council knew he was at the very least unfairly treated at home and did nothing? I mean I guess I can get that but then later in the book they try to send keefe to live with his father to practice empath training! Like they knew and still went oh it would be a wonderful idea to send someone who just had a mental breakdown and is worrying about his worth to his overbearing father. just wtf???
And than they have info on really only his powers, connections, his fathers ideas, and his neverseen involvement. And he read this, he knows they don’t seem to actually give a crap about him. So I was wondering if Keefe knows people know about his home life and didn’t care, and people literally stalk his romantic life and give more of a care to that than his obviously unhealthy relationship with his father, would he even want to go back? Would he really want to go back to a place that only cares about his relationships to Sophie and his never seen connections? What do you think would happen if they requested him to go back?
Anyway just wondering your take on Keefe’s relationship with the council and how he would respond about having to go back. ~anon
Hello to you too, Nonsie! It's always fun to find pronouns buddies, so I'm happy you like them! I personally am not a huge fan of pronouns in general but as far as they go, fae/faer pronouns are very nice. Like a fae creature!! Solidarity over pronouns!!
The registry file is a whole complicated thing, because it's supposed to serve as a wealth of information for the readers to refer to, be an in-depth documentation of citizens for the council, and appeal to the readers and be interesting to read. I think the "Unreasonably High Standard" is one of the ones that meant more for the reader's reference, and Shannon had to make that work in the registry and it ended up with a few implications that may have been unintentional. Because we as the readers know that Keefe had an awful childhood and that his father was shitty; it's a major part of his character and how we understand him. So if something like that wasn't included in a series guide, it'd be really weird because it's such a big part of what we know about him. Shannon needed to include it for our sake, but including it has the consequence of making the council know at least partially about his home life.
I think Shannon's intention was for Keefe's home life to be mostly secret, at least the extent of it. Others seemed to realize that there were a lot of expectations, but not how bad it was for Keefe. That includes the council, even though they supposed have more access to people's personal lives and can spy on them. And it's also possible it didn't occur to them that it could be that bad, because elves are supposed to be this perfect species and such awful treatment of their children isn't supposed to be possible for them. We do know that throughout Keefe's childhood they were very much stuck in the past and overlooking things, so it's not surprising that they'd be able to overlook one child in a prestigious family when they were fooling themselves into believing that everything was perfect.
I do think it is important to note that the person wanting to send Keefe to be with Lord Cassius was Councillor Alina, and that nearly everyone else present dissented with the decision. She's the newest addition and also has a history of trouble with Keefe, as he got in detention all the time. So his relationship to his father isn't her concern, despite the information that has since been revealed about Keefe's childhood. She saw the Shores of Solace as secluded and an ideal spot to keep him away from people, so what his father is there? She's probably also more resistant to the idea elves can be abusive, given what we know about her other opinions. I'm assuming that she thinks Keefe's childhood was a lot better than it was, and she doesn't care to learn otherwise. Keefe's a thorn in her side and she doesn't want to deal with him more than she has to.
All the other information you mentioned I'm assuming falls under the "for the readers" part of the series guide, as Shannon needed to get that information to us and it's once again an important part of his character. His powers and his mother and things like that are a big part of who he is in the story, so leaving it out would feel incomplete, so it's another balance between what does it mean that the council knows and what we know is important.
I guess my personal conclusion is that I don't take the registry as entirely accurate to the council's opinions and how they interpret things. It's more like they were just used as the method that Shannon gave that information to us all in one place. Saying that the council knew how awful Keefe's childhood was because there's a section about it in a series guide made for us feels like we're jumping to conclusions a little; I don't think it was meant to be considered on that level of canon, though it can be interesting too.
As for his relationship to the council and what would happen if he was asked to go back, I think it would come down to information unrelated to the registry. Yes, he's gone through it and redacted a bunch of things, but I think it's more important the actions they've taken and the actual interactions they've had. Keefe's seen how the council makes decisions and treats his friends (Sophie and the ability restrictor, letting Alvar off the hook, etc.) and has come to the conclusion himself that they're frequently wrong. So having them order him to do anything would be easy to ignore because they've already set that precedent of incompetence.
He also doesn't have a lot of faith in the system given that his abusive childhood was able to slip under the radar and no one did anything. He was an innocent little kid and what he saw was no one helping when he was suffering. Why would the council do anything differently now?
I think Keefe doesn't trust the council or their decisions, and he wouldn't listen to them if he was ordered to come home (unless blackmailed in some way), but not because of the content of the registry files, but for reasons shown throughout the series.
It would be interesting to look at the effects on the story and how things change if the council was truly aware of Keefe's childhood his entire life and did nothing, prioritizing relationships and abilities and other things!! I just don't think that was what Shannon was trying to imply when she wrote the registry files.
#like yes the registry files are the council's source of information about people. as said by shannon#but also it needs to appeal to /us/ and they're just a fun way to do it#it's more engaging for us than if she'd just written an entire like encyclopedia of the world#and so there are a few areas that kinda mess with the story like this because of that#but I personally don't take it to be anything meant to be interpretes very seriously#you're welcome to think otherwise btw!! this is all my own opinions and how I see it.#kotlc#keeper of the lost cities#quil's queries#nonsie#keefe sencen#long post

Investigation 1 of Site G-100P
I wrote this all today and I'm not the most proud of it but I do like the idea so shhhhhhh. Here you go
(@clearlyclueless came up with this by the way)
.
"05-10," your assistant holds out a file towards you. "Look at this."
You take the file from him, looking down at the contents. The heading reads, "SCP-092's Behavior Shift." You thank him and lean against the desk positioned in front of the filing cabinets.
Briefly, you look up at your unfamiliar surroundings, taking a second from the reading you have been doing all morning. Currently, you were situated in the Director of Site G-100P's office, combing through file after file to try and understand more about the anomalous entities that currently resided in the facility. The room, like the rest of the facility, was devoid of colour. The walls were grey, the floors were white-- the only thing that stood out was the red pen cup sitting on the desk.
You were initially told to investigate the facility through your library of records made on this particular site's anomalies. The unusual and unexpected change in the behaviors ever since the new Site Director was appointed created some concern within the Council, and since you had access to the majority of records, you had been tasked with gathering information about this place. Eventually, you had enough of reading through log after log; nothing was telling you anything. Out of curiosity-- no, out of a burning desire to find out what was happening, you found where the facility was located and booked a flight near to where it was hiding.
After arriving, you addressed a handful of the research personnel who were going to and from their jobs, asking about the anomalous entities and what had caused their change in behavior. None of them gave you a straight answer, but many brought up the Site Director.
Rain A. Vex, the newly promoted Site Director of Site G-100P, was as much as an anomaly as the rest of the entities here. After hearing stories about fae, you began to wonder how fae was still able to hold faer level 4 clearance. Apparently, Vex was reckless, known for neglecting many of the security protocols for a certain group of anomalies.
Now, you think as you look towards the window separating you from the containment room access, you're here to hopefully observe and talk to the Site Director to figure out the best course of action.
Your trail of thought is cut off by the loud groaning of metal, drawing your eyes from looking at the glass to one of the containment area doors. Each of the doors was made of a thick metal, and can only be opened by the panels next to the doors and the panel situated in front of the window in this office. The panels next to the doors were all palm scanners, a measure of security taken by every facility to make sure that only certain clearance levels could open certain doors.
Two security officers stand outside of the opening door, their weapons held in their hands and attention drawn to the anomaly that is likely residing in the room. There doesn't seem to be another person, meaning that the guards were not there to monitor a cleaning.
"What do you suppose they're doing?" your assistant asks, stepping a bit closer to the glass. You hum in thought.
You observe the guards as they wait for the door to completely open, standing tensely with their eyes glued in front of them. When the door is fully opened, you are barely able to see the small, humanoid form of an anomalous entity sitting on what looks to be a cot. SCP-092, a Euclid class anomaly, if you are remembering correctly, one that is known for changing its appearance frequently, almost like it is constantly unsatisfied. You recall the reports submitted by Vex, talking about how none of the researchers were able to get any information out of it.
You turn back to the sheets of paper in your hand and start skimming through them, reading about how the entity's behavior was once incredibly violent. On several occasions, it had tried attacking guards by shifting its hands into sharp objects, attempting to jump onto their backs. Now, SCP-092 only seems to do that when--
A horrendous noise blares from the other side of the glass, the emergency lights flashing red. Your gaze is snapped from the place you were reading to the window, and you slowly make your way towards where your assistant is standing.
Outside, you could see red staining the otherwise pristine ground. The blood of one of the guards seeped into the floor. Luckily for the guard, SCP-092 seemed to have sliced his arm open rather than his throat.
"A containment breach?" your assistant questions as you step next to him, your hands clasped behind your back. "Do you think it would be safer to leave or to stay here?"
"Stay," you reply, not leaving room for argument. The facility was known for its quick resolutions of breaches, and you wanted to see this in action. With SCP-092 nowhere to be seen and an injured guard, you currently were not very hopeful. You could feel your assistant's unease grow with each pulse of the alarm, until finally-
"Kit!" A voice shouts, heard even above the sound of the alarm. The very director you had been waiting to see calmly entered the room, paying little mind to the guards. You and your assistant watch as Vex motions to the guards to put their weapons down.
"What is fae doing?" your assistant asks, astounded.
The guards, hesitant, lower their weapons. Vex makes the motion again, faer arm lowering harshly, and the two place them on the ground. Fae must have said something, because one of the guards walks over to a panel and turns off the alarms, submerging the facility into peace.
With the wailing alarms off and the guns on the ground, Vex lowers one knee to the ground, faer lab coat pooling around faer. You can somewhat discern faer calling something.
Slowly, you notice the small figure emerge from a place behind Vex. Your assistant sucks a breath through their mouth and his body tenses, clearly expecting the worst. SCP-092 gets closer to Vex's back, but instead of reforming its arms, two wings appear from the entity's back, and it walks in front of Vex. Fae stands up and turns towards the guards, the entity in faer hands.
Surely the woman is insane, you think to yourself as you look at faer face, which seems to be smiling down at the entity. Vex makes a motion with the hand fae are not using, and the uninjured guard makes their way towards a different panel, opening another door.
You turn towards your assistant, who is still standing, astounded, at the Site Director.
"This woman," he says, turning to you, "Is crazy. Who in their right mind would pick that thing up? You saw their behavior before, right? Most were hostile, and there were likely a handful of casualties."
Your hand reaches up to cover your mouth as your head turns back to the window. Something about Vex was... off, to say the least. Fae was able to calm down the SCP-092, but what was it about faer that made it possible?
The Site Director moves to the second open door and gently sets down the entity. With the way Vex was treating it, you could almost mistake it for a child. From the corner of the newly opened room comes a blue ball leaving a trail behind it. SCP-026-1, one of the slimes that had split from one another.
Vex steps out of the containment area and motions for the guards to close the doors.
"...make sure to get that cleaned up,"' you can hear faer say to the injured guard, likely talking about the injury. The injured guard leaves and Vex releases an exhale before faer eyes land on you and your assistant. Fae seems to examine you for a moment, sending a shiver down your spine, before starting to make faer way towards the staircase leading to the office door.
You and your assistant move away from the window. He resumes his browsing through the filing cabinets and you briefly skim the paper once more before the door unlocks and swings open. Vex enters faer office, beginning to shed faer lab coat, and you set your papers down.
A guard enters behind faer as Vex removes faer gloves, throwing them into a trash can next to the door.
"05-10," fae says, finally looking at you. The guard goes rigid upon hearing your title.
"Site Director Vex," you respond.
"Please, call me Rain. It is a pleasure to meet you." Fae extends a hand towards you.
"You as well," you say, bowing your head and ignoring faer hand.
Vex lets faer hand fall to faer side before moving to take a seat at the desk you had been leaning against, taking a pen from the red pen cup. Fae scribbles something down.
"Site Director Vex, I wanted to talk about--"
"Rain," fae interrupts.
"Rain," you repeat, a hint of irritation slipping into your voice. "I wanted to talk to you about your behavior in dealing with the anomalies." Vex lets out a hum of acknowledgment. Your assistant closes the drawer of the cabinet he was looking through and returns to stand next to you. "You are being reckless with your procedures. This is a dangerous behavior to have, and if you continue, I'm afraid I will have to--"
"I don't see the problem." You pause, taking in faer words.
"Pardon?"
"An actual, serious containment breach has not happened here since I was appointed Site Director," Vex says, setting the pen down on faer desk and looking up at you. "I'd say we are perfectly capable of handling this facility."
"There was just an alarm sounding," your assistant says, his voice wavering. "How is that a demonstration of the facility 'running smoothly?'"
"It wasn't a problem. My guard was slightly injured and I came in and dealt with it efficiently. I was able to move Ki-" Vex cuts faerself off and clears faer throat, "and moved SCP-092 to the enclosure they were supposed to be in."
"How," you ask, straightening your posture. "How were you able to calm it?"
"We- the researchers and I- are currently figuring that out," Vex says, faer voice even. "There was a reason I was promoted in the first place, 05-10. It was not done without warrant; I assure you that there is nothing to worry about."
"That doesn't explain anything!" your assistant exclaims from beside you, seemingly bothered by Vex's disposition.
"A Site Director shouldn't be managing the anomalous entities, Vex, and you know this," you state cooly, crossing your arms.
"And a Council Member shouldn't be visiting a site without the knowledge of the other Council Members."
You blink, taken aback by the Site Director's words. How did fae know..?
"Now," Vex says, standing up and cracking their neck, "I have a few more anomalous entities to deal with." Fae starts to make faer way towards where faer lab coat is hanging. "You know, you came at a rather poor time. We always begin the anomalies' socialization at this time." Fae slips on the lab coat before returning to faer desk once again, pulling on another pair of gloves and grabbing a clipboard.
"if you'll excuse me, I'll be going." And with a bowed head and a turn, Vex opens the door and starts faer way down the metal staircase, the guard quickly following.
You purse your lips, processing what the Site Director had said. That was the first time you had ever experienced someone with a lower clearance threatening you.
"Will-" your assistant starts, "will you be demoting faer?"
"No," you say, surprising even yourself. "We keep monitoring this facility. And we keep monitoring Site Director Vex for suspicious behavior. In a field like this, you can never be too careful." He nods at you.
The two of you grab the files that were pulled from the cabinet and begin to leave the office.
Whatever was happening at this site would need to be watched closely. The interactions of Vex and the anomalous entities were too strange to be ignored, and you knew something would need to be done eventually. For now, you would take the files back to your own office and look through them.
Something here feels wrong. Eventually, you will get to the bottom of this. Even if it's the last thing you do.

Discord pt 72
[14/03, 4:03 AM GMT - 14/03, 5:35 AM GMT]
Special Edition: A Court Trial was conducted for the defendant, Discord Member Syd, who has been charged with the crime of committing espionage for Crown by revealing the Discord server’s secret chat to Prince.
Cast List:
Defense Attorney: Dreaming
Jury Members: Donti, Socks, Chat, Corporeal, Raeva
Prosecutor: Snow
Witnesses: Grimm, Jack
The trial proceeded as follows:
boo: “hi
uhh. all rise. court is now in session. honorable judge boo presiding”
Syd: “[everyone rises, the prosecution snow and dreaming make their way up to the front of the courtroom to give their opening statements]”
boo: “alright prosecutor what's your opening statement”
snow: “Good evening, my name is Snow and I’ll be serving as the prosecutor before this jury on this dramatic case. On the 19th of February, 2021, the defendant admitted to committing espionage. I am confident that by the end of this case the jury will agree that the defendant is guilty.”
boo: “okay. defendant's attorney, please provide your opening statement”
dreaming: “good evening members of the jury and judge boo my name is dreaming and today we are meeting to discuss a case involving syd, a appreciated member of the server that informed a member of the court, prince, about a secret chat on the server. throughout the trial, we will be interviewing witnesses and show that while my client did commit the crime, she should be given lesser punishment as she owned up to her mistakes and has reformed her ways.”
snow: “The prosecution calls Jack the Observer to the stand.”
Jack the Observer: “[i go up. two hologram-esque red eyes float around me, slightly glitching and flickering in and out of existence.]”
snow: “Jack, were you present during Syd’s confession to revealing the secret chat?”
Jack the Observer: “i was not present at the time of it happening, no.”
snow: “What is your impression of the impact of the secret chat being revealed?”
Jack the Observer: “I understand that many people were upset and felt betrayed. but no knowledge was lost that crown could not have easily gained through other means.”
snow: “How are you familiar with the defendant?”
Jack the Observer: “i met her when she was already in prison, some weeks ago. i was the first person to see her after she was arrested, besides Fetch and the Warden, and i have been visiting her regularly since. i would consider us close friends.”
snow: “Based on that familiarity, why do you think the defendant committed the crime?”
Jack the Observer: “she has told me that she was trying to help prince. and that, at the time, she believed in Crown's ideals of a "happy family" and wanted to join him. i believe her.”
snow: “I have no further questions, thank you for your time.”
snow: “I call Grimm to the stand.”
Jack the Observer: “[i go sit back down]”
grimm: “[They get up to the stand, and shake out their wings. They clasp their hands together nervously, though they have a steeled look on their face.]”
snow: “Were you present during the defendant's confession?”
grimm: “I was”
snow: “What were your emotions during the reveal?”
grimm: “Rather neutral, I hadn't yet grown any strong emotions or attachments here yet so I could only watch without much to think. It was already known that there some sort of bug amongst us.”
snow: “What effects do you think the leaks of the secret chat had?”
grimm: “It obviously had some sort if impact to the present day, although it honestly doesn't as major as it should feel.”
snow: “How do you feel about the defendant now?”
grimm: “That she is someone who's learnt from her mistakes, who would rather not make those mistakes again.”
snow: “Thank you for your time, that is all the questions i have.”
grimm: “[Grimm returns to their seat]”
snow: “[Prosecutor returns to their seat]
[Prosecutor grabs a case file and stands back up]
I call the defendant, Syd to the stand.”
Syd: “Oh... Okay.
I wasn't expecting this.”
snow: “Syd, how did you first contact Crown?”
Syd: “I never contacted Crown.
I contacted Prince.”
snow: “Were you unaware that Crown had access to Prince's discord?”
Syd: “At the time, yes. I didn't know that he had access to faer Discord.”
snow: “When you said that we were being watched, were you already contacting Prince? “
Syd: “I'm sorry, can you screenshot the message in question? I don't know which one you're referencing.”
snow: “Of course.
[[Screenshot ID: [arc: keep stuff that we’d normally put in secret in secret and stuff that we wouldn’t in other c...]
Syd: “And remember, we’re being watched regardless of where we post”]]
Syd: “Ah yes, that message.
That was the day before I had contacted Prince, I believe.
Essentially, I was telling the group that even if they tried to keep secrets, the Court would find out.”
snow: “I see.
When you leaked the secret chat, how did you think it would help Prince?”
Syd: “At that time, I...
I guess I really wanted to a part of the Family. And I thought that the only way to do so was by gaining the Court's trust.
I also wanted to mention that I believe I contacted Prince the same day that message was posted.
That was my mistake, I apologize.”
snow: “Did you believe it would make the family appear more or less open to Prince?”
Syd: “---aah fuck--
.....
...Sorry
My head has been hurting... uh.”
snow: “Take a moment, then.”
Syd: “What was the question again?”
[Meanwhile, on another channel where the other members were spectating the Trial from]
Maxwell: “Oh jeez do you think syds okay?”
Maxwell: “She said her heads been hurting...”
Jack the Observer: “she's been bedridden for a few days
been ill for like a week”
Maxwell: “Oh no”
Jack the Observer: “honestly she could not get out of bed until literally today, so. uh. yeah”
Maxwell: “Holy, do you know what’s wrong?”
grimm: “I don't like this”
boo: “i tried to dull it down for today but
it did not work
so there's that”
Jack the Observer: “she's just been ill. and having visitors while she was sick didn't help”
boo: “...me not taking care of her while she was sick didn't help either”
Jack the Observer: “we're thinking of moving her out of the mineshaft to get better after the trial, if it goes well.”
boo: “yeah”
Maxwell: “Oh no”
boo: “we won't disclose locations of course”
Jack the Observer: “you were indisposed, not your fault”
Maxwell: “Of course I understand”
boo: “it's a warm biome i think it's far enough from here”
Maxwell: “Is she....okay?”
Maxwell: “....”
Jack the Observer: “she'll get better”
Maxwell: “We can’t even really help, we can’t disrupt the trial. It’d be best to wait till after it’s over”
[Back at the Trial:]
snow: “How did you expect Prince's perception of the family to be impacted by leaking the secret messages?”
Syd: “I..
I... think at the time that... it didn't really change faer perception of the family?
I told Prince that... there was trust issues from the group...”
snow: “As in the arguments over whether we could trust Crown?
Syd: “...Yes”
snow: “Did you dislike the arguments?
Or the fact people were anxious of Crown?”
Syd: “I think they're not really... uh....
....
Sorry, I'm having some trouble focusing”
snow: “Please answer my questions.”
Syd: “I'm trying!
...okay
I don't want people to fight
I think that's what you're asking, right?”
snow: “Yes. And also, did you want to trust Crown?”
Syd: “I did... yes
...”
snow: “So when you contacted Prince, did you do so with the intentions of wanting faem to do the same?”
Syd: “I... think so?”
snow: “Are you struggling to remember due to time or other factors?”
Syd: “I-
I’m fine...”
snow: “Are you in any pain or duress right now?”
Syd: “I'm. Fine.”
snow: “...
boo The prosecution has finished the cross examination.”
Syd: “...”
boo: “alright. uh, dreaming, you can now call your witnesses”
dreaming: “[they get up and go to the stand]
the defense calls Jack the Observer to the stand”
Jack the Observer: “[i go up]”
dreaming: “hello jack, were you present during syd's confession?”
Jack the Observer: “...
i already said that i wasn't.”
dreaming: “sorry, how did syd telling prince about the secret channels affect you?”
Jack the Observer: “no.
i mean it certainly made things around here more interesting. and it did eventually lead to Syd's imprisonment, which is how i met her. so tangentially it did, but not directly.”
dreaming: “okay, how do you think syd has changed during her imprisonment?”
Jack the Observer: “as far as i can tell, Syd underwent the most change during her initial stint in maximum security. once in lower security she had already realized she was initially in the wrong, had developed a strong aversion to Crown and things which reminded her of him, and felt deeply guilty for her betrayal.”
dreaming: “do you think syd would be still loyal to crown if she was freed today?”
Jack the Observer: “if allowed free will and with no outside interference? no. absolutely not.”
dreaming: “okay that's all the questions i had for you.”
Jack the Observer: “[i go sit back down]”
dreaming: “the defense calls Grimm to the stand”
grimm: “[Grimm stretches as they stand up and go to the stand]”
dreaming: “how do you think syd's imprisonment has changed your perception of her?”
grimm: “Do you mean what I think of her as? Who I think she is now?”
dreaming: “yes”
grimm: “I talked to her a lot in prison. At first, when I came here I didnt have any attachments but, admittedly shes become on of my attachments. My first visit, I talked with her about what she did and she made it very clear that she regretted it. She's very much against what she did.”
Syd: “.....I... ugh.”
snow: “[glances towards her] Syd, are you alright?”
Syd: “shit.
...Sorry.
I'm okay Prosecutor.”
dreaming: “that's all i had to ask grimm thank you for your time.”
grimm: “[They take a glance at syd before nodding and going back to their seat.]”
Syd: “...”

Omg, this morning was shitty, and right now I'm angry about it now that I have a clear head
So, in order to qualify for surgery, I need to have a note from a therapist and a note from a psychiatrist. I already have the therapist so I today I met my new psychiatrist...
So... yeah... in 50 minutes time, she determined me too mentally unstable for transition because I had Anxiety and was unemployed.
Wakraya
...
Nora (fae/faer)
Yikes
MissFinefeather
She would still write my letter, but it would specifically say I was mentally unstable
Nora (fae/faer)
*hugs*
Wakraya
I was going to say "Wow that's a record for judgement of someone"But then again I have only known this person for like 10 seconds
And I already can tell she's not qualified to be a psychiatrist.
MissFinefeather
She admitted to knowing nothing about transgender people at the start.
But yeah, I told both my group and my therapist and they are LIVID
Nora (fae/faer)
*big hug*
Wakraya
No fucking wonder, she's lucky to be an ocean apart because I would otherwise PERSONALLY go smack a bitch.
Nora (fae/faer)
Seconded
MissFinefeather
They think she might have had a bias against me and I kind of agree with them... I really didn't like the way she was looking at me
And honestly, anxiety is and incredibly common and not really grounds to brand someone as Mentally Unstable
Wakraya
Don't let her fool you about anxiety and unemployment.
She considered you Mentally Unstable the instant you walked into that clinic.
It's an obvious bias.
MissFinefeather
Well, the minute I told her I was in there for the transition.
She somehow didn't know ahead of time... I don't know if that was a miscommunication of the clinic's part or her part
Honestly, I've made so much improvement this last year and a large part of it was BECAUSE of the transition. I tried to tell her that, but she kept talking to me like I was just lazy and not already working towards it. At least I tried to but he way she was looking at me and the things she was saying just threw me off completely and I let her walk all over me.
Don't worry, I feel much better now
After my group and my therapist backed me up on how bullshit that was, I feel so much better
Wakraya
You should honestly file in a complaint about the treatment by that psychiatrist.
Like honestly, take her off her high horse
MissFinefeather
And the therapist in charge of the group was even looking for a new doctor
My therapist was urging me to file a complaint, and I think I willJust got to figure out how xD
Wakraya
You DEFINITELY should. That was no way to treat you, and I'm seriously hoping she either realizes she fucked up, or tries to justify herself badly and ends up ruining her career
MissFinefeather
She also wanted to get me on anxiety medication. Considering I won't ever see her again, I'm glad I didn't accept
I'm going to post all this on my blog, because fuck her
Nora (fae/faer)
*even more hugs* you can do this
Ydah
WHERE IS MY GIRLFRIEND?I KNOW SHE NEEDS SUPPORT.
LEMME HUG EM AND STICK MY MIDDLE FINGER UP TO WHOMEVER HURT HER.
No but seriously. K. Talk to me if you need some extra love oke?
MissFinefeather
Hugs YDah I'm okay now, thanks for the concern!
Ydah
How can i not concern? Remember that one promise?
MissFinefeather
It's okay, heck, the fact that I'm not putting up with this shit shows that I've actually learned something from past experiences xD
Okay, I just learned that the second letter doesn't need to be a from a psychiatrist, so both letters can be from therapists. So ummm... my main therapist and the leader of my LGBT group? >:)
Assuming my main therapist is licensed that means I already have two people to get notes from...

insurance commissioner of kansas
BEST ANSWER: Try this site where you can compare quotes from different companies :quotes-for-insurance.net
insurance commissioner of kansas
insurance commissioner of kansas. You must maintain the state’s minimum liability car insurance coverage on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles in order to reinstate your driver’s license. Insurance fraud often is a factor in the higher rate. Although auto insurance fraud is not law in the state of Texas, many car insurance companies will try to keep premiums up for financial reasons. You may think they want to keep you as a low-risk driver, but it’s easy to let them know you are a high risk. Many states have a minimum amount of bodily injury liability coverage. You may want to consider additional coverage beyond your state required minimum, like property damage liability or personal injury protection, which you are permitted to purchase. If you’re caught driving without these minimum amounts of coverage you could be committing car insurance fraud. While it may not appear to criminalize driving under the influence, some insurance companies see you as a high risk. In some cases, they will still charge you for driving. insurance commissioner of kansas (the), when the state ran into an insurance crisis, and became their own state. They are not simply selling low value home insurance, they are actually buying real estate. They’re doing this for us because Real Estate is often their biggest asset, it will help them retain our business. I was wondering if I could borrow with my own money and pay with my own money. I was hoping it would cause an accident that would not include me paying the other driver’s monthly premiums and I would not have to get behind the wheel of an insured car or be covered in that instance. This sounds like something you might want to consider. I’d be sure there would be more people around to insure and I would certainly like to save money. Any ideas what can we do to reduce the cost for the insurance? I was wondering if I’d be entitled to a small settlement if no insurance on my car. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts.. insurance commissioner of kansas, there are more than 5,500 licensed car insurance agents available! You can either be working for a car insurance company — or it’s a job of your choosing — or you can go to an office. In both situations, the licensed agents will shop for car insurance quotes after the job ends. While there is no one insurance company that is perfect, it can be a bit difficult to compare multiple companies based on individual factors. That’s where comparison shopping starts. What makes comparison shopping different for car insurance companies is the fact that there are many car insurance companies, and it’s very possible to shop for more than one. Some may not be available directly, but there could be discounts available to help other drivers save more on insurance. Other companies may have a better financial foundation either way. Another factor car insurance companies consider is the length of time between the start date and the end of the term. The longer you wait, the risk of losing your driving privileges and driving.

Anti-Depressant Led to Stevens-Johnson Syndrome
Woman Suffered, Continues to Suffer, Severe Bodily Reactions
Some medications may trigger a severe skin reaction that may cause serious, sometimes deadly, reactions, including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN). Three years ago, a 26-year-old woman from Georgia went to her physician over depression. The doctor prescribed Lamictal (lamotrigine).
At first the medication worked, but blisters began to break out over the woman’s body, according to USA Today. For the initial two weeks, “everything was okay,” the woman said. But then, “I was in excruciating pain. It felt like I was on fire,” she added. Her skin was burning from the inside out and her sweat glands melted. The woman was diagnosed with SJS, a rare skin disorder typically the result of a reaction to a medication or an incorrect medication dose. “It essentially causes your body to burn from the inside out and you pretty much just melt,” the woman explained. SJS patients report often feeling this feeling.
According to a pending lawsuit, the woman received the wrong dose of the medication and her pharmacy did not spot the error. The woman says that when she looks at photographs of herself from prior to taking the medication that she no longer recognizes herself. “I didn’t have to have people staring at me or wondering why I look different,” she said. “Three years ago, my life changed forever,” she added, according to USA Today.
The woman had previously flawless skin, which is now burned and seriously scarred. The woman is also losing her sight, her sweat glands are gone, and her fingernails are gone and will never grow back. “This did not have to happen. This was not just some sort of fluke in my opinion. This happened as a direct result of somebody’s error,” she said, USA Today reported.
The woman spent five weeks in a medically induced coma as her skin peeled off. There is no cure for SJS and she may relapse. “They’re telling me this could happen again, and they’re telling me if it did happen again, that it would be worse,” she said. According to the lawsuit filed on her behalf, her medical bills have reached more than $3.45 million and massive and ongoing medical care is expected. “I never heard of Stevens-Johnson syndrome until I was in the hospital with my skin melting off of my body. That’s when I learned what it was,” she said. “It’s important to know what’s in your body…. Be an advocate for yourself. Educate before you medicate,” she said. “Know what the side effects are,” she added, USA Today reported.
A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) revealed that individuals who suffered from one episode of SJS or TEN are significantly likelier to experience a second episode. There is no test to determine if a patient is likely to suffer from SJS/TEN.
Medication Errors
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, medication errors increased from 16,689 in 2010 to more than 93,930 in 2016, a nearly 463 percent increase. The numbers come from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS), which is a database containing information on adverse event and medication error reports submitted to the agency. FAERS is a voluntary reporting system; therefor, the number of incidents are expected to be greater. To reduce errors, some states have attempted to limit the number of prescriptions a pharmacist may fill to approximately 150 per shift.
Matt Perri, a pharmacy professor at the University of Georgia, says he is not certain what the appropriate number would be; however, he feels benefits may be seen with setting limits. “If you’re filling (300) or 400 prescriptions by yourself, that’s clearly way too much for one pharmacist,” said Perri. “The idea of setting limits is unappealing on the business perspective, but on a patient safety perspective, it would be a good thing if we had a general idea of where those limits were,” he pointed out, according to USA Today. Jeff Lurey, with the Georgia Pharmacy Association, disagrees. “Patients come into the pharmacy at different times when they need to get medication filled. To put a restriction, I’m not so sure that’s in the best interest of our patients,” he said. “I’m just not convinced that cuts down on (medication) errors.”
Stevens Johnson Syndrome/Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis Reactions

The firm continues to offer free legal consultations to individuals with questions about filing a drug injury lawsuit.
Patient advocates have long stated that current drug allergy alert label information on many over-the-counter and prescription medications does not contain sufficient user warnings concerning the risk of the very serious reactions of SJS and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN). SJS may be caused by a number of drugs and leaves the patient with blistering of mucous membranes, especially of the mouth, eyes, and genitals. The syndrome also causes patchy rashes that cause severe skin peeling and may spread to internal organs. SJS may also lead to significant scarring and blindness.
When over 30 percent of the body is involved, SJS then becomes known as Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN). Both SJS and TEN may be deadly and often require intensive care or hospital burn unit treatment. SJS is typically characterized by red or purple skin lesions on the body that peel off in what has been described as “melting.” When the skin peels, or sloughs, off, tissue or muscle infection may occur. Symptoms may include swelling of mucus membranes, organ damage, and throat swelling. TEN is a very aggressive form of SJS. While SJS lesions may cover up to 30 percent of a patient’s skin surface, TEN may cover up to 90 percent and progresses much more rapidly. SJS and TEN may became deadly if emergency intervention is not rapidly implemented.
The mortality rate of SJS and TEN is 30-40 percent. Patients who do survive are often left with permanent injuries, including vision problems, difficulty eating, and scarring. SJS may also cause large areas of the skin to blister and peel, leading to open sores and infection. TEN causes large areas of the skin to detach from the body, which may lead to lesions developing in the mucous membranes. Symptoms of both may include blisters on the skin and the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, eyes, and genitals; facial swelling; flu-like symptoms, including fever, sore throat, cough, and burning eyes; hives; open sores; serious skin shedding and sloughing; skin pain; skin rash that is often red or purple and that occurs within hours to days; and tongue swelling. Surviving patients may need skin grafts and some may be left with vision issues or blindness and severe skin damage.
Stopping SJS requires early diagnosis and intervention, which involves stopping the medication that caused the condition. Warnings on many medications are vague and most people do not recognize that SJS has developed when they experience the syndrome in its earliest stages and because the syndrome and its symptoms are not widely known, people may ignore what initially appears to be a minor blister or rash, even though this is a significant indication of SJS and TEN.
Patients who suddenly develop flu-like symptoms after taking medication should visit their physicians immediately as these symptoms are early signs of SJS, as well. Experts advise not using medications unless absolutely necessary and informing treating physicians if flu-like symptoms or a blistering and rash occur while using any drug.
