How are you reblogging from anti-factkin blogs but you're literally otherkin? Factkin has been reclaimed and is used by people legitimately. I was skeptical as well until I read a story of a factkin whose kintype was actually some nameless Greek lady from centuries ago, and how that person connected with this woman on such a deep level that they realized it was a past life. It isn't always some "I'm actually [some rich and relevant celebrity]!" troll shit. I expected better from someone who is constantly dealing with antikin.

if I had more sense I'd just delete these, and if I had more energy I'd write out a trademark Relentlessly Polite response like usual, but I have neither, so instead you're getting a very blunt response and you're just gonna have to forgive me. so:

a) you guys really are out here assuming I check the blogs of every person I reblog from for Problematique(TM) content huh

b) could you guys do me a favor and at least tell me who you're yelling at me for reblogging from, preferably before you go on your moral tirade at me

c) gonna be real with you getting both of these literally at the same time makes me think this is probably a troll being a troll, but on the fairly significant chance that they're genuine and from separate people,

d) first off, general life and conflict management advice for both of you: if you want to change people's minds you're going to have to be a little nicer about it in most cases. I am typically fairly tolerant of this kind of behavior, although you've caught me at the end of a bad few weeks, but generally speaking, yelling at people right off the bat - especially when there's a significant chance they didn't even know they'd done the thing you're mad about like in this case - is extremely likely to just make the person you're yelling at defensive and make them shut down and not want to listen to you. maybe try politely explaining. de-escalatory language. that kind of thing. something other than being kind of a jackass right off the bat about something that might have been an innocent mistake

e) my factkin tag is openly available for viewing if you want my actual opinions on the subject, though a lot of it is kind of outdated because I don't engage that particular topic very often. the current tl;dr is I have very complex and conflicted feelings on factkin which results in my actual action plan more or less defaulting to "be nice to people and let them do their own thing unless they're actively going out of their way to hurt people" (which factkin generally are not). you could also have asked

What does kin / kintype mean?

I could Google it, but I'd like to hear your personal explanation as I've only heard of this term from you :)

Is it like... an idenitity character thing? Is that a thing? I'm intrigued.

im not good at articulating my words but i can give it a shot

so "kin" comes from the word "otherkin" which is a community of ppl who identify as something non human or not all the way human. if u've ever heard someone say "i kin them" or "im such a __ kinnie" that's where those terms come from, tho those are more modern terms and are usually used by ppl who "kin for fun" and not ppl who actually take it seriously like ppl in the otherkin community bc kin to us isn't a verb it's an identity. like someone said, u can't say i girl them bc it just wouldn't make sense. oh and being kin is also always involuntary.

kintypes are basically who or what u identify as. they can be anything from *animals real or mythical to people *real or fictional to even objects and concepts. for example, one of my kintypes is n. gin from crash bandicoot which is why i go by the name gin/ginny/whatever and usually have his face pasted everywhere.

from personal experience, ppl outside of the community and have no understanding of it WILL call u delusional or cringe for being otherkin. like hell i got called the r slur for it once. but, honestly how i see it is like if i'm already being dehumanized for being autistic/nd + a person of color then why not just go all the way and not be human?

I have shifts a lot. For my Saint identity, It's usually phantom and dream, I don't get mental shifts because I'm always the Saint in all ways. Red fox I get mental and dream, occasional phantom shifts. I hate mental fox shifts because I have to go away from any pets when I start feeling it come on or else I will hurt them (I have rabbits and cats). It makes me feel guilty.

Picturing myself as my types. drawing myself as one of my types is just more natural to me. I have to manage shifts. My therapist just calls shifts sudden aggressive energy (my shifts aren't always aggressive). So most of the time I have to figure it out myself. Hallucinations of my body parts turning into my types can be very distressing. Also, depending on the day, I either love meat or it makes me gag.

It's pretty chill. Now and then you'll find someone that just makes you curl up in a ball from cringe but those are just the younger people and tbh I was really cringe when I was younger too.

Having people actually acknowledge that yes, I went through all that. I know what it's like to be a fox. I know what it's like to go through literal hell and back but still be treated like crap. I know what it's like to live in a stream. I know what bugs taste like to a salamander. And that yes, I ACTUALLY AM the Saint. I'm not roleplaying, and I for sure did not choose this.

Occasionally when I come out of shifts or just randomly. When I do get it, it's bad.

Don't go pushing yourself into boxes. You thought you were a fox but actually you're a cat? That's fine! You thought you were a dragon but you're an eagle? Totally ok! You don't need to keep pretending you're something you're not just because you originally thought it. Also, quads don't make you alterhuman. Masks don't make you alterhuman. You don't need to do anything to be alterhuman. You also don't need to be alterhuman to enjoy quads or masks. Don't be embarrassed by being fictionkin, plantkin, conceptkin, factkin, or other "weird and invalid" identities. Keep your mind open.

Gears just trigger my dysphoria. It's like remembering that something isn't there. I don't feel the need to have decorations related to my types because well it feels weird to me to have stickers and posters of myself around.

I believe in multiple lives and reincarnation, so I have had past lives as my types. Some people have this thing where they can remember past lives.

and if you're wondering what sources we do/don't accept:

sources have to marketed to children, at least in part, and in good faith (not satire). the genre does not matter- education, action, horror, whatever.

the reason we mention that there's no constraint on genre is because we're also open to horror sources. "mascot horror," like fnaf (in its current state, at least) or poppy playtime, is accepted.

the source can also be derived from another, such as fallout: equestria. while the source isn't angling for children, it still counts as mlp kin in our books.

however, sources that use genuine kid's media as a medium for their story but are not kid's media themselves don't count. red vs. blue, minecraft smps, etc. don't fall under our guidelines.

we also do not accept factkin. you kin bluey? cool. you kin her voice actor? not cool. the same goes with the kratt brothers, as though they have fictional counterparts, those fictional counterparts are so close to the real-life deal that we're comfortable with saying that it's factkin.

these are all just guidelines for having a source that meets our criteria- you just need one kintype that fits these to join!

And what better way to break that hiatus than by scarring your minds with age regression Game Grumps aesthetics, Jeffery Dahmer kin, historical figures with Tumblr blogs, and a person who believes they are their own grandmother? Let’s go!

We’ll start off with this perplexing little dilemma... 

Ah, yes. The teenager who genuinely thinks that people can be kin with real, living people and thinks that it’s acceptable... is worried about trolls. And this really makes me wonder what in the hell could raise their suspicions, when they have literal serial killer kinnies requesting aesthetics for their favorite killer & shooter ships. 

I’m serious. Killer... and shooter... ships. 

 Now, I’m aware this is an old post and whoever sent this in has hopefully grown out of serial killer kin hell. Regardless, this gave me a full-body cringe and made me laugh so hard that I started wheezing and sounding like a dying rat. 

Now... using the actual photographs of killers in these oh so charming aesthetics just slathers another thick, goopy layer of creep factor on top. And I’m pretty sure I pulled that exact face as I finished laughing, subsequently realizing just how done I am with this website. 

We’ve gone from 0 to 60 here, so let me dig through my dozen tabs to find something a little lighter and cheerier. Hm... looking, looking... oh. Oh, no. Not like that! 

It’s bad enough that people are identifying as YouTubers, because there are these things called acting, egos, characters, pretending, and so on. Though these kids probably aren’t too familiar with the concept of “pretend”, since everything is real to them. And everything is fair game. Including finding relaxation and enjoyment in children’s activities. Yes... if you enjoy balloons, bubble baths, candy, and balloons, you are, in fact, a child. 

And yes, it’s definite fact that Dan Avidan is a soft pastel age regression young boy. Quick, someone add that to his Wiki page! 

And speaking of updating information to 100% totally true things, someone also needs to inform the world that we’ve misunderstood Marie Antoinette, so now that she’s back, we need to be super nice and make her some pretty pink aesthetics... maybe bake a few cakes, too...

Wow. Alright, I need to find something more modern... I need to ground myself in reality, in this time period, so that post doesn’t knock me into an endless spiral of unreality and then into the wormhole I probably deserve. Let’s see... 

Huh. That’s really not so bad. And if kin were real, I’d say it’s solid advice... in fact, you can apply that to things that are actually real, like being transgender or gay. It’s always a good idea to think through scenarios for how someone might react to that, so long as it won’t cause anxiety problems...
