This amazing succulent is native to the mountains of Lesotho, South Africa. It is know as the Spiral Aloe, but its botanical name is Aloe polyphylla. . Clearly named after the perfect geometric shape of the leaves, this plant is very fast growing and UK hardy. It can reach up to 60cm in diameter and 30cm in height. This interesting plant is called Hymenocallis sp., or Spider Lily for short. This genus of tender bulbous plants contains over 60 species. They are native to southeastern USA, Mexico, the Caribbean and the likes. The flowers are usually white or yellow and have a lovely fragrance, which is often strongest after dusk.
