Fablehaven AU where they live at the Living Mirage instead

ideas for it: - Instead of hugo they use stingbulbs to help them get their chores done - Most of the chores include tending to the trees and other exotic plants, but Grandpa Sorenson won’t let them near the super dangerous ones - Seth likes to venture out to see the Rocs, despite his grandfather’s warning - He also (secretly) visits the dungeon. First time he went he he found the rec room, and beat the highscore on all the pinball machines - when he went back he had found that someone had beaten all his scores - The Sphinx guards fablehaven instead, and a lot of the creatures there might work for him - I don’t know if they would swap the artifacts, or if Grandpa Sorenson is some immortal guy who may or may not be trying to open a demon prison - If Grandpa Sorenson is evil, then instead of journeying to the other artifacts to protect them, Kendra and Seth would unknowingly be trying to open the demon prison - or maybe they do know, and think that their Grandpa’s cause is plausible until The Sphinx or Vanessa or Bracken or someone convinces them - Vanessa would still work for the Sphinx. Bracken is in Stan’s basemen- I mean dungeon

Rereading Fablehaven so here are some headcanons

The fairies in FH universe are undoubtedly beautiful but also are equipped with sharp fangs that hurt a lot when they bite someone

After Kendra becomes fairykind her ears become slightly pointed and her teeth become sharper but the sharp fangs are only visible to those that have drank the milk

Vanessa has multiple tattoos

Warren has one tattoo which is very small because it hurt so much but he wears it with a badge of honor (he will never admit it was dare or that it’s a butterfly)

Ruth Sorensen has a tattoo which very few people have seen but apparently it’s pretty bad ass

Kendra and Seth took it upon themselves to get Warren up to date on pop culture stuff after he woke up. Seth covered memes and Kendra covered pretty much everything else

Kendra has a rather diverse music taste (much to most people’s surprise) and loves to make playlists for people

Seth will not admit that he listens to the playlists Kendra made him daily

After the death of Kendra’s stingbulb Warren didn’t listen to the playlists Kendra had made him and instead listened to her favorite songs on repeat

Dale grows numerous plants around his home and names them all. He also knows all of the livestock animals by name

Small animals have a habit of imprinting in Dale whether he likes it or not. This extends to magical animals as well

Dale became very fond of Seth. Warren got very attached to Kendra.

Stan Sorensen doesn’t drink often but one time during the holidays when everyone was drinking, Warren attempted to keep up with Stan and ended up very shitfaced

Stan walked away fine

Kendra can and will cuss someone out when needed, especially after Zzyzz. Vanessa and Warren are very proud, everyone else is terrified

Seth snuck fireworks into Fablehaven for the Fourth of July and many of the creatures requested that he do it again

Seth made the mistake of stealing from Kendra’s plate once and she hit him, fangs and all, he never did it again

Warren is the only one that can steal food from Kendra without getting bitten

Seth is not very touchy feely when he’s awake but when he’s asleep he will latch onto the nearest person

Warren is 100% a cuddler, so is Kendra, they can and will struggle snuggle Vanessa

[Camera cuts to the gardens outside with Vanessa and Seth. Vanessa wears a look of confusion.]

Vanessa: I'm supposed to say something about someone? Who?

[Camera cuts to just Vanessa]

Vanessa: I'm passing the phone to someone who reads his horoscope every month.

[Camera cuts to Warren in the living room of the main house.]

Warren: I'm passing the phone to someone with a bedazzled shotgun.

Dale [voice shouted from far distance]: That was a gift!

[Seth takes camera from Warren, the view up his nose.]

Seth: You weren't supposed to hear that!

Dale: I’m passing the phone to someone who has snuck away more times than I can count.

[Kendra appears in view, wrestling the phone away.]

Kendra: Seth! Absolutely not.

Sorry not sorry to any Knox fans but i needed to rant a lil bit

Be forewarned….this is a LONG one guys😮‍💨

When him and Tess were first introduced i was like “Oh well just as long as they don’t take too much away from the main story and are likeable” (BOY was I wrong😟)

Now don’t get me wrong he was a big help at the end of the book by helping transport the scepter. Also when Tess got fairystruck, anyone else thought “huh…that was…easy?” AND I GET IT the fairies were probs influenced by the interactions of humans (especially kendra) and were flattered by her costume as well as her age may have helped but it just all felt wayyy too plot convenient..

THEN they started getting their own chapters. Okay. Now im lowkey irritated bc could you IMAGINE if we got a RONODIN pov or one of Warren, Vanessa or Tanu? And i knoww its bc they’re cousins & are important secondary characters (even though the characters i listed are just as, maybe even more important) BUT WHEN I FINISH SETH’S CHAPTER I GET ALL EXCITED FOR KENDRA’S and then it’s one of theirs… (though the only thing saving it was Newel and Doren tbh) And I have to force myself to finish it bc i don’t wanna miss important details😔

And this isn’t particularly referring to Tess mostly Knox being insufferable but the point still stands!

*ALSO when he killed Remulon (which he did do his big one with that so 👏👏👏) Shouldn’t he technically NOT have been able to use the unicorn horn since in theory it’s impossible to just pick it up bc it attacks the person with magical guilt?? If anyone has the answer to this lmk plz DID I MISS SOMETHING or is this just a plothole??😭

ALSO also when he had the AUDACITY to TRY Seth (even if he was influenced by the crown) while he was “giant king” talking all that smack as if he didn’t injure Newel after being told how DANGEROUS the unforgiving blade was. And Seth just made him eat back up his words with barely any effort I KNOW THATS RIGHTTT I absolutely loved that scene😝

…..And don’t even get me STARTED on the whole Ob“knox”ious joke….😕

Overall he was helpful and can crack good jokes, when its not corny!! Just *REALLY* annoyingly boastful at times. Tess was tolerable tho. I would add more but this is already long enough as is lol.

But Im curious on other people’s thoughts on him🤔
