2253 Omaha - B&W 1 por f22photographie Por Flickr: 2253 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia PA, originally for the U.S. Army Transportation Corps. She was shipped to Britain in May 1943 to work on the LNER from its base at Neville Hill depot in Leeds. Loco was then shipped to France in September 1944, working throughout Europe, then sold to Poland at the end of WW2, before being shipped back to Britain in 1992. Photographed here at Bridgnorth depot during Severn Valley Railway Steam Gala, 2023 - wonder if the crew are Googling for the instruction manual !
