2253 Omaha - B&W 1 por f22photographie Por Flickr: 2253 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia PA, originally for the U.S. Army Transportation Corps. She was shipped to Britain in May 1943 to work on the LNER from its base at Neville Hill depot in Leeds. Loco was then shipped to France in September 1944, working throughout Europe, then sold to Poland at the end of WW2, before being shipped back to Britain in 1992. Photographed here at Bridgnorth depot during Severn Valley Railway Steam Gala, 2023 - wonder if the crew are Googling for the instruction manual !

Fairburn Tank - Aughton, Lancs, (L39). by f22photographie Via Flickr: Class 4MT, "Fairburn Tank", steam locomotive passing over Butchers Lane, Aughton, Lancashire - some time in the early 1960's. This class of loco was designed for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway by Charles Fairburn - a total of 277 were built between 1945 and 1951.

Loco built at Ashford Works 12/1943 and withdrawn from service by British Railways 24/07/1965, (only 14 8F-A's were actually built by The Southern Railway at Ashford !). Saved from the cutters torch and preserved to full working order. However, she is subsequently awaiting overhaul at The Great Central Railway owing to her boiler certificate running out in July 2019. Loco built February 1918 by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn Ltd as ROD 1670 - loco re-numbered several times during her lifespan, ending up as 63688 under British Railways ownership.
