CLAPS HANDS! Ohohoho it's my FAVORITE topic! DUEL STATISTICS! And SO SOON too!! We get yet another look at the top 10 rankings at Asticassia right at the start of Season 2, to see how they've shifted (in the at least 2 months and 5 days) since we saw them in episode 8 in Season 1.

First, lets compare the updated rankings to the ones in episode 8: EPISODE 8 RANKINGS:

So, first and foremost, one of the major shakeups here is that Guel is officially off the leaderboard. This is because he's been "unenrolled" from the school, so he's been removed, or at the very least suspended, from the Dueling system.

In terms of overall shifting, all of the background characters on the previous board have been replaced with others.

Olta Shubacca (6th), Jonas Mouwen (8th), and Ragnar Ooles (9th) from the Episode 8 board have been replaced by:

Jeffery Eastcott (5th), Rachel Schnass (6th), Thedal Saryan (8th) and Ebony Boas (9th) on the Episode 13 board. (There's one extra because one has also replaced Guel)

Suletta, Shaddiq, and Elan still maintain their spots within the top 3, with a 1.2, 2.9, and 3.1 respectively. (Suletta has surpassed Shaddiq after beating him, ofc)

Lauda has made a VERY LARGE jump up in the time since Episode 8, moving up from 7th with a 9.1 to 4th with a 6.4! Very impressive, and taking his brother's position as well! He's even surpassed Sabina, who he was ranked below previously. But unlike Guel, Lauda is still 3.3 points below Elan in 3rd, with a 6.4. He's much higher than Jeffery in 5th place, who has a 9.5, but the unfortunate truth is that he's still just unable to break through that barrier into the Best of the Best within Asticassia. But we should still appreciate his hard work in upholding the Jeturk name while his brother's missing. Good job Lauda!

Sabina has dropped from 5th at 6.9 to 7th at 10.1, taking Lauda's former position. Sheesh! What a drop! Although I wouldn't doubt if this drop is primarily due to Grassley not partaking in many duels in general lately. (I wonder why that would be...)

Renee is an interesting case. On both leaderboards she's in 10th place, but in Episode 8, she has a 13.3 and in Episode 13 she has a 14.4 She's dropped 1.1 points, but apparently she's still managed to maintain her position at 10th. I wonder what that says about the gap between 10th and 11th...

The updated House representation in the top 10 are: Grassley - Shaddiq, Sabina, Renee (3/10) - 30% Peil - Elan (1/10) - 10% Jeturk - Lauda (1/10) 10% Earth - Suletta (1/10) 10% Unknown House - Jeffery, Rachel, Thedal, Ebony (4/10) - 40%

There's a general feeling of Power Creep within the rankings. The average scores in the top 10 are generally lower across the board compared to episode 8, and its most likely because of how power is concentrating upwards.

Oy vey, so much text and we're not even 2 minutes through the episode...

During this scene, Rouji comments that it seems like Elan's changed, and Secelia slyly responds, "I'd say he's a different person~"

I have literally zero proof for this but I 100% wholeheartedly believe that Secelia just knows that El4n was replaced with 5lan somehow. Like she knows and decides to just fuck with him for fun about it cause she doesn't really give a shit she just thinks it's hilarious.

Boas has 5 wins and 4 losses, but even with a track record like that, he's still 9th on the leaderboard.

Also, of the 5 battles in the Serial Duel, 2 of the opposing pilots are girls! Just something I thought was fun.

In Season 2's OP, Slash, we get our only other look at Notrette in the series. We can see her hair comes down to around her elbows (at least that strand in front) and that Miorine got her white grey hair from her. We also see a ring on her finger, presumably her wedding ring.

Which is interesting, because in the show proper, we see that Delling is no longer wearing his. He probably stopped wearing it after Notrette died.

If we take a look back at the other shot of Notrette in her casket, it seems that she wasn't buried in that ring, and later this season, we see Miorine wearing a ring exactly like it.

There's no hard proof, but I'm willing to bet she's wearing her mother's ring. (Another fun ring related fact is that, in the prologue, Nadim and Elnora also aren't wearing wedding rings. Maybe they just aren't wearing them, but considering that the two had met when Nadim was transferred to Vanadis to manage Lfrith's development, and the Vanadis team had been working seemingly nonstop for years on it, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that the two didn't have the time for a fancy wedding, and probably only had a little reception within Vanadis. Maybe if things were different, they'd have gotten a pair.)

Anyway, tangent aside, Slash also changes depending on the nature of the story. I will point these out when they occur!

During Shaddiq's debriefing of the Plant Quetta attack, he points out that the two gundams used in the attack used "The Gund Format's Parallel Structure." You'll have to give me some time to deduce the meaning of that, but we do see two graphs labelled PMET RETENTION.

The Permet Codes LF - T (for Thorn) and LF - U (for Ur) are also labeled as UNREGISTERED, and the ANALYSIS RESULT at the bottom is identified as the GUND FORMAT PARALLEL STRUCTURE.

Again you'll have to give me time to try and fucking. Piece out what that could possibly mean.

Anyway, this shot of Sophie and Norea's IDs shows us that Sophie's is MP040, and Norea's is MP041. Their Birthplace is EARTH, NO DATA is reported for their house or criminal records (lol), their Biometrics have been registered, and their recommended company is DARA MATERIALS, which we learn from Nika is a fake company that's just registered within the Group.

(They're both first year piloting students, and are numbered just after Chuchu, who's ID is MP039.)

Going off of where she points, my best guess is that the Bat Plush is her dad, the Giraffe Plush is her mom, and the dog and onion plushes are her little sisters.

When Suletta is showing Sophie around the school we see that she took her to MOTHERFUCKING MOBILE CRAFT CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!! YES!!! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!! I LOVE YOU MOBILE CRAFT!!!!

Noticeable differences between this shot and the similar one from the first episode is that a student is presenting the info this time, and it's a different mobile craft model. (It has 2 long arms as opposed to the 4 of the previous, and is 3.0m)

When Norea bumps into 5lan, we see some more of her drawings

The first is this sketch of what I assume is a bovine skull of some kind, with spiders crawling all over it

The second is this sketch of a derelict train station, and it's actually a drawing of the same abandoned station on earth we get a shot of in Episode 10.

And finally a sketch of some shed snake skins.

This scene is also where Norea steals 5lan's notebook in order to access the Pharact.

The Request Timeout screen Nika receives when she tries to contact the Dawn of Fold. She gets error code CO3 and the message is just, THERE'S NO ANSWER.

There's a couple reasons this could be, but I think Norea probably contacted them earlier and told Naji that she was unreliable.

When Nika threatens to expose herself, on her phone she's pulled up the contact of the Facility Management Company.

Norea's eye twitches in response to the threat. She thinks Nika is really annoying.

That's all for this episode! Quite a long one huh? (Mostly cause of duel stats. Sorry. I like duel stats. It probably won't happen again.)

I really like this episode as an opening to the season. It hits you with whiplash after the ending of the last season like, huh? After all that we're just going back to the dueling stuff? And it holds it just long enough before slowly beginning to bring things back to reality, heading it off with Sophie and Norea showing up, bursting the bubble entirely. There's just no going back! Suletta challenges the girls to a duel, just like she did to Guel in the first episode of the series, and you already know that it's not going to end well, because the Earthian Witches don't respect the rules of the school. Norea even points out that it's stupid. Sophie only agrees to prove a point.

You have to be prepared for what comes next, Suletta.
