Thoughts on Haytham

So there are 30 Templars I use in my writing and Rp with a split of 16 for the Selfish and 14 for the more noble ones. Haytham Kenway to me falls into the noble side of the Templars.

The noble Templars are those who despite the nature of wanting complete order still do their best to protect humanity and even go as far as to either protect or work with the assassins. Some other examples of the more noble ones are The De leserres, Robert De Sable, Alfred the Great, Shay Cormac, and yes I count him Edward Kenway.

Look if Shay counts as an assassin but never fully fledged, then Edward counts as a Templar never taking the order's vows, though he did work for them and gained from it.

In a list of top ten favorite Templars Haytham Kenway ranks in at number two because of his story, how he acts both to protect the native people from slavery and he told Lee to leave them alone God damn it man can you not listen to orders?! God Robert's men were better at this balance. Anyway.

Okay as far as Haytham Kenway goes as a character and why I like him? He is more complex. Rouge and 3 and a little bit of Black Flag give us small glimpses into who he is. I honestly think Jango Fett's line to Kenobi works best here

"I am just a simple man trying to make my way in the galaxy."

Though it would be the world but you get it.

Who is Haytham?

Really deep down, a traumatized ten year old who lost his father in a violent manner, who tried fighting back actually killing someone, who's mother his only other adult parent shunned and turned her back on him for killing, a little boy who's older sister was kidnapped (who truly knows what happens to Jennifer when she was in Damascus), and a boy who was groomed into a Templar. Again I pull a quote from Kingdom Hearts 2

"Xaldin... that's his name. He came from the darkness... He...used my anger to control me. He took all my sorrow, my sadness, my pain—and turned it all into rage. There was nothing I could do... I could no longer see the truth."

Though for Haytham it would be Birch. Brich brainwashed him into being a Templar, it didn't fully work because there was still enough of Edward in Haytham that he himself had killed Templars leading to the destruction of the colonial rite.

Haytham Kenway is a family man that is clear. He loves his parents, looks after his sister, respects Ziio enough to stay away when she tells him to and works with Ratohnhaké:ton even getting a bit miffed the Red Coat for saying "tasting the wild fruits" you cannot tell me he wasn't pissed that Ziio got insulted and that Ratohnhaké:ton was the only one mad. You also can't tell me he wasn't somewhat proud of the man his son had become.

As far as Desmond's ancestors go I would honestly put him at number Three because in terms of character development because he has four to five sources in which players can experience him. Ezio Auditore takes number one because he has four games, three books, and three short movies in which one can get to know him. Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad is on second with five, three games, his keys in Revelations, and Secret Crusade. Though in his case I guess you can count his Codex since you can read it in AC2 and on the AC wiki, so six.

I think honestly that in his own way he'd be proud of Desmond for sacrificing himself to save the world from burning because there would be people who are descended from friends, colleagues, and even like Desmond, descended from Ziio and Ratohnhaké:ton's people and I doubt he would ever wish harm on them.

Info About The Writer

Hi! I’m Alistair— you can call me that, or you can use my username for pretty much everywhere else, TheetyPie/Theety. I don’t mind either way.

I’m a trans guy, I use he/they pronouns. I’m panromantic/asexual, and I’m 27 years old.

I have 3 cats, they’re my babies. I also (as you can tell from above) have a lot of OCs, and the number is still growing. I want to turn my ideas into a bigger creation someday, still not sure exactly where I want to go with it.

I do more than write. I do art, I like video games, music, and just collecting stuff. Current obsessions are Monster High, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, makeup, crystals, and jewelry.

Rules

The most important: I do not RP smut. In the past I’ve used the fade-to-black method, but I’m not entirely comfortable with that with most of my muses.

In the same vein, DO NOT FORCE SHIPS. I love ships as much as the next guy, but I would prefer to discuss it first, or for us to agree on it. It’s cool if your muse has a crush, totally fine— mine get crushes all the time! But make sure if you want to ship, we discuss it first.

In a similar vein to that one as well, no god-modding/powerplaying. If your character is strong, an immortal being, or whatever, cool! I have some of those too. But there should always be a limit. Don’t say your character is moving mine unless we’ve talked about that. Attempt to move them. Usually I follow along as long as boundaries aren’t pushed.

Don’t kill or seriously injure my muse without permission. Fights happen, of course, but again: discussion. I’m up for threads where my canon muses are injured or killed, but not where it happens to my OCs, unless we’re getting into a backstory and another OC that’s already deceased dies. Non-serious injuries are alright to come out of nowhere with, but if it’s a first meeting, I’d prefer to plot it out.

I’m semi-selective. I’m kind of particular about who I follow and who I thread with. I prefer us to be mutuals to thread, but you don’t have to be mutuals to send me things.

I’m very bad at keeping up with people. If you message me and I don’t respond, it’s usually bc I’m shy, I forgot, or I’m busy with work. It’s not you, I promise. Usually I don’t message first bc I’m nervous.

Back to shipping: I’m also multiship. Usually my ships are in different universes, unless discussed with all parties beforehand. The exception is a few of my OCs that are partnered together— ask about their availability. I love random ships, just talk to me about them!

I love duplicates of my muses. Whether it’s “x meets self” or I find someone I share a muse with, I love RPing with just about everyone. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we have a muse in common!

One of my other most important statements, not really considered a rule, but it’s still important: if you want to know something about any muse, canon or OC, please tell me— ask or message me! I haven’t been able to write down a lot of info about any of them because I’m on mobile, but I will infodump for you if you need/want to know something. I love talking about my children, they’re precious to me.

If you send something in or make something for me when we haven’t even spoken, I might not feel comfortable responding. I’m very shy and nervous about not having any discussion beforehand. 😭

Introduction post

Hi there my name is Desmond Auditore. I was adopted into the Auditore family post solar flare, after Federico and Ezio Auditore rescued me. So I have been with them for eleven years now. We have had our ups and downs. For starters all five of us kids are educated. Federico and I have our GED's and are working on college degrees. Federico is going for auto mechanics. I on the other hand, for cooking. Ezio is a high school senior, Claudia is a sophomore in high school, and Petruccio is in eighth grade. I went back to work, but not at Bad Weather. I actually work with mom at a bakery is owns and runs. Dad returned to being a banker and a lawyer. We are all assassins, yes we are teaching Petruccio. Christmas eve 2012, I was fully fledged as an assassin and given my formal robes which pay respects to my ancestors. They are Levant in style with a fur shawl (showing respect to Ratonhnhaké:ton) and the Auditore family Crest on the buckle of my sword belt (the one long the chest).

For fun I do play Dungeons and Dragons, Dragon Age, and Magic the Gathering. I also play guitar and I am told I sing quite well. I also enjoy going to theater performances, professional, college, high-school, or community. I also like to read. I actually (thanks to my biological mother) own any books owned by my five ancestors (Yes Haytham Kenway included Bill is an ass for ignoring him.)

On the note of my biological family... I don’t speak to them at all. Bill is just too much of a toxic and bad influence and I do not need that in my life. And mom...she tried but I can't. I know her and she'll try to convince me to give bill another chance.

As far as my social life and friends...I do have some, mostly the old school assassins that have brought back for some reason. Though I find myself with strong romantic feelings for Malik Al-Sayf. And its weird.

12. Do you prefer writing main or minor canon characters? It's a bit of a toss-up, honestly, I seem to go from one to the other. I started RP in general with a very minor (if we can even call her minor, she was no more than a name) character back in the Vampire Diaries RPC in... 2012? Ended up growing in confidence and picked up the main characters a bit as a challenge and then that lingered. Since then, I've written big ones like Jace Herondale (book), Ezio Auditore, an MCU-based Tony Stark, Dorian Pavus, Oberyn Martell, Tifa Lockhart, and too many more; it's a bit of a flip between major and minor. Any I would like to maybe write one day are also a bit of a toss-up, because if you look at my current, most recent and future planned muses, they consist of Yelan, Kafka (Honkai: Star Rail), Guizhong, with Zhongli and Jingliu one day joining them. Again, a mix! I don't shy away from anything really, the character simply needs to poke my brain from the right angle and in the right way.

I love how you just added this most casually, bless you. Oof, my wishlist for interactions is much longer than my capability to write is (I lie, I'm just very slow), but considering how easy it is to move this woman I love a tad too much, yeah, there's quite a few. I'm hugely interested in her interactions within the Liyue Qixing, namely Ningguang, Uncle Tian (though I know that this one will be for the meta books) and even Keqing. I'm in love with Perilous Trail, which touches on already established interaction with Yanfei, another one I'm dying to write. The verbal confrontation between Xiao and Yelan in the Chasm has me tearing up seams, it's so good and it touches on such integrally painful parts of both of their characters, it's one of the ones topping the charts (not romantically, mind you). Beyond that, with her personal vendetta against Regrator, I of course crave interactions with Pantalones and Harbingers that can bring her closer to finding him, so namely Childe and Arlecchino (and in that, members of the House of the Hearth, hello Lynette and Lyney; Frem?). Because of the former, I desperately wanted to write with a Wriothesley (hi Min) that has become more than even I anticipated, and in that, it opens up the desire to write with a Neuvillette and also, unexpectedly, a Navia, because Spina di Rosula becomes quite an interesting ally (and in light of Childe's escape, you know). My list is honestly never-ending, I can't subject you to the Inazuman list, and even Sumeru because we know canonically that she travels. Hi, did you expect this to get this long? I'm just excited for so much, okay.

The kiss happens right after Leonardo is finished dressing a wound on Ezio’s shoulder. Scars have added to Ezio’s skin like mementos, it was something he learned to live with. But it was a constant source of pain for Leonardo, he knew that. Ezio coming home with a new wound after being gone for days tracking a new target could not have been easy, Ezio hated watching him worry.

So, the kiss may not have been expected at that moment - but it was hardly much of a surprise as Ezio pulled away. 

“I’m okay.” He assured his love. “Just a scratch.”

im trying to decide my hc on noct + fishing bcus part of me wants there to be some soft, morose reason as to why he enjoys it as a past time but part of me thinks it adds so much depth to his character if he just fucking enjoys it. like he could cast thunder in the lake or throw magic swords @ them but he actively chooses to sit there for hours fishing & honestly , given that its never confirmed regis also enjoyed fishing or taught him im fully willing to believe he just picked it up as a hobby one day. and. he did not stop. when he was a kid he’d sneak out of insomnia to the checkpoint & fish in the waters underneath by the channels. one day he came back with a fish to a castle full of panicked people & was just. ‘uh?’ because he didnt realise he’d been gone a solid 8 hrs. i think he probably saw ppl fishing on a tv show once and like any bored teen just went ‘oh fuck i want to do that’ & like. did it.

I used to be in this one RP called Jacob’s Wiggle Worm where Jacob finds an earth worm and thinks of it has a new friend despite how many people are like “Jacob you’re fucking gross wtf.” But he doesn’t even care since worms are cool to him. Then all of a sudden the worm goes on to betray and become one of the Templar’s pets and Jacob is angery.

My question is- why did this rp ever die I loved this-

More Than Just a Game

RIN: So, it's safe to agree that we're all from different times, places, and universes, right?

Most nod in agreement.

PINOT: That doesn't really explain how we got here, though.

JOSUKE: I bet it's like an anime! Like an isekai.

STU: Or an RPG!

JOSUKE: The only way for us to get back is to complete the quest.

STU: And save the town from a magical demon lord!

Despite barely knowing each other, the two high-five.

MAKI: I doubt that's the case.

RIN: Yeah, we weren't told by some stange higher being what our quest is... yet... normally that would happen.

MAKI: What I meant was that things like that don't happen.

STU: What are you talking about? How is this NOT an isekai or RPG. There are two cat creatures and a succubus!

PINOT: Well, in human terms, I think I'm what you'd call an "alien".

SALICE wanders towards the window and looks out. The street is dark and empty. Shutters clacked in the wind. It was a ghost town. SALICE opened the door, jumping slightly as the wind nearly caused the door to send her flying back.

SALICE: How about we just explore? Maybe we'll find answers.

MAKI: You know what, cat, that's a great idea! Better than sitting around here with out thumbs up our assholes...

The group left the bar and stepped into the barren street. They surveyed the town, looking into buildings and shops trying to find clues.

STU: I bet there's traps hidden around. If we trip them, enemies will spawn.

JOSUKE: What kind of enemies do you think it'll be?

STU: Probably the cliche thing of goblins and large rats.

RIN: I doubt goblins would be here... I mean there's no food... edible food that is.

RIN scrunched her face as she gazed at a moldy mush on a table. Flies buzzing around it.

MAKI: Will you guys shut the fuck up about the video game thing?

QUINN: One problem at a time, Stu, honey.

QUINN wrapped an arm around STU

PINOT: I wonder what made us the chosen ones to be brought here and if the rest of our friends were send here as well.

TRUNKS: I doubt it. We'd have sensed their energy by now.

PINOT: Yeah, that is true... Having someone like your father or Goku would have probably made things easier, though.

TRUNKS: Or more complicated. My dad wouldn't have done anything to help, and Goku, well... he's good at fighting, but not much else.

EZIO: I don't see anyone besides us. Not even bones or signs of fire that would suggest that there was a fight.

The two laughed as the headed back outside.

RIN yelped in surprise as SALICE and EZIO jumped down from the roofs.

LEON: Where are the rats, mice, and birds? You'd think they'd be crawling all over this place. It's like everyone in this city just... vanished.

MAKI: Nothing across the street either. Just moldy food and bugs.

She approached with LEON

STU: The demon lord killed... owch!

QUINN smacked STU across the head.

The group went back to the bar which seemed like the only place that had life.

MAKI: The question is how we get back to our homes...

JOSUKE: The library! We should check the library!

LEON: We already checked the library.

JOSUKE: For PEOPLE, not answers!

SALICE: What makes you think the library has answers?

JOSUKE: Because of... of... Videogames...

RIN: As dumb as it sounds, it's the only lead we got. I'll be willing to go!

EZIO: Salice, you should go too. You can see in the dark and may find something that others might miss.

RIN: That's smart!

LEON: I'll go too. Better than sitting around doing nothing.

TRUNKS: So will I. The place is pretty big, and I'll be able to fly around and scout the place faster.

STU: What about the rest of us?

JOSUKE: We got to stay here in case goblins show up!

The trio left heading towards the library.

The library was dark. Books were piled on the floor and tables. Dust coated their dulled covers.*

LEON: Where do we even start?

RIN lit a lantern with the lighter that QUINN gave her

RIN: The supernatural section? Or maybe the medical health section? Ezio mentioned that there didn't seem to be any bones, so I don't think everyone just up and died, but I think it's worth checking. Trunks, how about you and Salice go towards the supernatural section, Leon and I will look at the medical books.

SALICE and TRUNKS nodded before he let the little cat climb onto his back as he flew deeper into the library, stopping to let SALICE read the shelf labels till they found the section they were looking for. The shelves were a mess.

TRUNKS: Man, whoever was in charge of the library didn't take care of it at all.

SALICE: What kind of book are we looking for?

TRUNKS created a small energy ball to produce some light as he carefully scanned the spines

TRUNKS: Maybe something on disappearances or other worldly summoning?

SALICE didn't really know what any of that meant, but she scanned the books for something similar. According to the others, she and EZIO were from the past by nearly 700 years. Of course many things didn't make sense to them.

SALICE: What about this book?

SALICE pulled a book out causing the pile to tumble down, but she ignored it as she brought the book to TRUNKS. TRUNKS scanned the book, opening it up and flipping through the pages.

TRUNKS: Something like this, but it looks like it's just a story and not information. Keep looking.

The two continued looking. Worthless books piled high, threatening to tumble at the slightest push. There were a few books that looked interesting, but there wasn't a lot.

TRUNKS: Let's bring what we have to the other two and hope they had better luck.

TRUNKS picked up the large stack of books, not effected by the weight as SALICE climbed onto his back. The two returned to the front where they saw RIN sitting at a table flipping through books. LEON bringing more books over.*

TRUNKS: We brought more books. We tried to find ones that weren't stories.

RIN: Thank you. Set them down on the left side of the table. I'll skim through them.

LEON: We searched the medical section like crazy. Nothing really stuck out.

TRUNKS: Same with the supernatural section. Just crazy talk. Maybe Josuke was right, and this is all just some anime plot.

RIN: Normally in an isekai or RPG, there'd be a way to check your stats by...

RIN swiped her finger in the air before freezing staring at the blank air in front of her.

LEON: Rin?

RIN: Holy shit! We're not in some Videogame or anime... we're in Dungeons and Dragons!!
