Okay, hear me out on this: Desmond gets isekai’d into Minecraft a la Isu bullshit, but he’s technically not alone. Because every single protagonist of the games is along for the ride as his Chat, either as voices in his head, literal birds, or bleeding effect but real this time.

Imagine this poor poor man, learning how to survive in this fuck-ass game world where dying ain’t permanent and tutorials don’t exist so they leave you scrambling for answers. Even better, he’s in a solo survival world, with all the recent updates. All with ancient Assassins and Templars screaming in his ear. When he finally figures out the dragon endgame bullshit, somehow, he jumps through the portal and is met with, get this, multiplayer.

Welcome to the hub motherfucker, y’ain’t the only player here bucko.

Sleeping Positions PT. 1

This has been on my mind for a while and I don’t think I’ve seen a lot of people do this! But this is how I imagine the Assassin’s and Templar’s sleep with their significant other! Enjoy :3

Part 2

Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad

I feel like Altaïr wouldn’t really be all that cuddly when sleeping. I imagine he would be a very light sleeper and maybe even sleeps on his back. But he would still bring you close, wrapping an arm around your waist. Even when he is awake, he isn’t clingy or cuddly. He’s very reserved so I see him showing you more affection behind closed doors.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Ezio would most definitely be a cuddler. I imagine he would be extremely warm and wouldn’t want to let you go. Bringing you close and trapping you in his arms. He would be in the middle of a light sleeper and heavy sleeper. I can imagine him in many different positions, but two come to mind. You on your side with his arms around your waist. Or you sleeping on top of him. Ezio in his younger years wouldn’t care about people seeing him being open to showing you affection but in his older years, I see him more reserved. But he would still give you kisses and hugs, just a little more reserved to be careful. He doesn’t want to lose you :(

Ratonhnhaké:ton or Connor

Connor the love of my life! I am totally not biased when it comes to him. 😂 but, I can definitely see him more as the teddy bear type. *very* warm and super cuddly. I see him holding you close, tight enough where it wouldn’t be too uncomfortable. After him losing his mother and some of his village and getting his homestead attacked, I feel like he would be clingy. But not suffocating clingy, just afraid of letting you go. He would be reserved in public, maybe a little awkward to showing affection. But I see him showing affection through actions more than words.

Haytham Kenway

Oh Haytham the man that you are. Okay, I might be a little biased when it comes to the Kenway bloodline. They’re gorgeous okay? But like with Connor, I see Haytham also being very reserved. But not unlike Connor, he wouldn’t be awkward in his affections (in private anyway). Sleeping I imagine he would also be on his back, but holding you close. If you had fallen asleep first, I imagine he would be slowly running his hand up and down your back while reading reports or even a book. But when he finally goes to sleep, he’ll pull you close, so you’re laying on top of him, his arm still around your waist. Your face tucked into his neck.

Edward Kenway

This man sleeps hard as a rock, no, a log. That man is not moving for anything. I imagine he would be sleeping so hard because he’s on a ship most of the time, so he’s gotten used to the rocking of the ship. In good and bad weather. If he turns over, he’s bringing you with him. If you have to get up to go use the bathroom, he’s getting up and standing next to the door, half asleep waiting to bring you back to bed. He is holding you close, keeping you against him. I imagine he is a soft snorer, but if he’s really tired? Loud. He’s very warm so there’s no need for a lot of blankets on the bed. He also doesn’t care if people see him kiss you or show you affection. And if they say something? He will give them a look or kiss you harder. He does not care.

Shay Patrick Cormac

….look, I am also very biased when it comes to Shay. This man is beautiful, sassy, smart, talented! 😩 but I see him also having nightmares from seeing all those people die in Lisbon. He blames himself heavily for all those deaths, so I can see him waking up from nightmares and checking to make sure you’re still with him. He isn’t a real heavy sleeper or a light one. Just in the middle. He’s holding you close, almost clutching you so you don’t leave him alone. 100% is into PDA. Especially when he has something to drink. I feel like he would want to show you off! But he is most definitely a cuddler and a hugger. Loves to hold you close and give you smooches. (When he isn’t on the job or in the presence of Haytham)

Arno Victor Dorian

This man is such a flirt. And a ladies man, he loves women. But also wants to protect them, keep them safe. For you? Oh he *loves* you. Also one who loves to show others how he feels about you. This man is a light sleeper, always making sure that you’re okay. This man is holding you close, but I see him sleeping on his stomach with his arm across your back or stomach if you’re a back sleeper. He also has nightmares from his dad getting killed as well as being locked up in prison. He is 100% a cuddler in and out of the bedroom.

Jacob Frye

This man is so cocky and prideful it’s like putting a damn spotlight on him. Oh how he loves to make sure everyone around him knows he’s there. He’s loud, brash, not afraid of anything! He isn’t afraid to show you how he feels. He’s a lot of fun to have around, but can become tiring for you if you’re more introverted. If you’re extroverted, you feed off of each other’s energy. I imagine he also would be a very hard sleeper. Very loud snoring to the point where you would have to wake him up. But he holds you close, or even throws his legs over you, keeping you trapped in his arms.

Okay. So I have more characters to go through, but Tumblr on the phone only lets me put like ten pictures. I think it’s different on the pc tho lol. No wonder why Connor is so emotionless: Imagine watching your mother dying in the burning down of your village and doing everything to help your people, only to get screwed over, deceived, manipulated and betrayed at every turn (with one of those people being your father, who deliberately hid the information of your mother's death so he could manipulate you to his side), with finally your people being expelled regardless by the people you thought you would help them (and finding out they don't give a shit about your platitude.)

My point: Fandom should stop hating Connor because he isn't Ezio.

The problem was never that Connor isn't Ezio. The problem is that we, as Western audiences, have been conditioned to reject characters who don’t conform to a familiar, Eurocentric mold of storytelling. Ezio is charming, charismatic, and effortlessly likable. He flirts. He jokes. He grows in ways that reflect our favorite power fantasies: freedom, control, and self-actualization. He’s the kind of hero we’ve been taught to root for, over and over again. He fits the mold.

Connor doesn’t.

Connor isn’t here to dazzle you. He doesn’t joke to put you at ease. He doesn’t flirt to win you over. He’s blunt. Angry. Grieving. And rightly so. His world is one of broken promises and stolen futures; he has no time or space for charm. He doesn’t perform vulnerability for our comfort. He is vulnerable, raw, young, and cracked open by the world, but never in a way that flatters the viewer’s ego.

Ask yourself: Would Connor have been more “acceptable” if he’d laughed more? If he'd made his trauma easier to swallow? If he'd flirted with Myriam or Ellen or softened his convictions for the sake of pacing?

That’s not a flaw in Connor. That’s a flaw in us.

We’ve been trained to celebrate protagonists who slot neatly into stories built on Western values of charisma, triumph, and emotional legibility. When a character refuses that mold, when he challenges us instead of charming us, we call him “boring.” Or “too serious.” Or “hard to like.”

But Connor is none of those things. Connor is essential.

Because where most protagonists in this series survive, Connor learns. He doesn’t blindly follow the Creed; he interrogates it. He studies the systems around him. He saw what gave the Templars their power, and why the Assassins keep losing ground. And even after betrayal, disillusionment, and unimaginable loss, he chooses to stay with the Assassins not because they’re flawless, but because their path is the right one.

He’s also the only Assassin to ever sincerely question whether reconciliation with the Templars is possible. He doesn’t just kill Haytham and move on; he listens. He hopes. He tries. That quiet dream of peace, followed by the heartbreaking realization that it cannot be, is unlike anything else we’ve seen in the series.

Connor isn’t just another blade in the dark. He’s the conscience of the Brotherhood.

Fandom didn’t reject him because he was poorly written. Fandom rejected him because he made injustice uncomfortable and because he refused to entertain us while doing it.

No, Connor isn’t Ezio. He was never meant to be. And that’s not just the point. That’s what makes him unforgettable.

Spoilers, I guess, for the Desmond Miles story/games?? Idk they're games that've been out for years, but I thought it was only polite. If you don't care, then the rest is under the cut. I just need to get my love for and thoughts on Desmond out of my system.

The thing I find most tragic about Desmond miles as a character is the fact that even though the assasins preach freedom, Desmond was never given the freedom of choice until the very end and even then it wasn't a real choice.

We don't know much about Desmond's time at the farm when he was growing up, but it's insinuated multiple times that he was hit by Bill, or that he had been abused in some way.

He grew up in a place where he wasn't given a choice in whether or not he wanted to be an assassin. That in itself breaks one of the core values of their creed, which is that they fight on the side of freedom. And one could, and should, in my opinion, argue that the freedom of choice is one of the most important rights someone can have. The freedom to choose to fight for something is fundamental to what the creed is all about.

Then, he finally is able to make a choice on his own when he runs away from the farm. He thinks everything they've told him is a lie, that templars aren't real, and there's nothing to worry about. He finally makes a choice, yes, but it was one that was predetermined from the very start. The isu knew he would do it. They calculated it and set up dominos to knock over when the time was right, down to the millisecond.

Desmond Miles was very much set up to die, much like a lamb raised for slaughter. He ran away to see the rest of the world and only got to see that world for 9 years. He was always destined to be caught by the templars, fall in love with and get betrayed by Lucy, he was always meant to die.

His entire personality was also manufactured if one would like to argue that. The isu made sure that the steps leading up to his demise were calculated to perfection (with the exception of Juno, who even with little wiggle room was able to manipulate conner). Desmond's entire personality-- his humor, his attitude towards life, and his roll over stance to his mistreatment.

By giving him the childhood he had and then running away, he was hardened and had been instilled with the creeds' principles and then was exposed to the rest of humanity. He probably always had compassion and kindness for people, and that part of himself was probably increased when working as a bar tender because bar tenders see the world at their best and their worst, and he himself after having fought for his place in the world knows how resilient humans can be.

He was given an impossible choice that wasn't much choice at all, seeing as there was never supposed to *be* a choice at all. The only reason there was a "choice" was because of Juno. Minerva originally only set up the eye to be the only choice, leading Desmond to his willing-but-unwilling sacrifice, but Juno threw a wrench in the plan.

Not only was he given the most impossible choice ever, but he made the one everyone was expecting him to because in his eyes, what else was he supposed to do? Let most of humanity, which consisted of 7 billion people at the time, die? Because what, a megalomaniac false god thought she could reenslave humanity after she's long since passed?

Even more tragic is that he was arguably tortured before his death as well. He had to watch his ancestors go through horrors and conspiracy. He had to go into the animus and feel what they felt, whether it be injuries or emotions.

He felt the stab wound Altair got, and the betrayal Altair felt as his father figure was revealed to be a Templar in disguise. He felt all the injuries Ezio sustained and felt the horror and shock and betrayal and grief that Ezio felt watching half his family die. He felt the inner turmoil of Conner as he was thrust into a world that hates people like him and had to suffer the pain of knowing he'd have to kill his father AND he lost Achilles, who was a father figure to him.

Desmond was forced to live three lifetimes, and while doing so, he lost control of his own life. He suffered from the bleeding effect, he lost all sense of time, he suffered ridicule by people who were supposed to be his comrades. He suffered further under the harshness of his father.

And he was never given a choice, and neither were any of the others up until the point of his death, which is what to me makes his character so tragic and appealing. The entire timeline could have shifted, had he made different choices or his personality was just a tiny bit different.

This aspect is also why I think that his death is so underwhelming in terms of satisfaction. Maybe that was the point, though. His death, maybe, was supposed to feel anticlimactic and unjust. Maybe the ending was supposed to, instead of feel like a real ending with a good conclusion, was more so meant to emphasize he never had a choice to begin with.

Anyway, I just think Desmond is neat. Have this:

Desmond Miles, Malik Al-Sayf, Kadar Al-Sayf, Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad, Leonardo Da Vinci and Ezio Auditore all playing Dungeons and Dragons pre canon (pre AC.) Desmond has no idea who his friends are cause he didn't pay attention to history lessons and drowned out his father after awhile of his bloodline importance speeches. Kadar is the Dungeon Master/Storyteller. Malik and Altaïr play Paladin and Cleric respectively. Ezio pretty much plays himself, charming flirt. Leonardo, plays powerful characters since he feels powerless often. His friends enjoy Desmond's company that when he goes missing they step up to find him. And Desmond's mind is blown after viewing Altaïr's memories that he figures out who the other two are.

Once again take your time.

What if Altaïr is in a forced sabbatical?

Maybe it’s similar to what happened in 1191 where Altaïr’s actions led to the death of someone. Maybe it’s because he deliberately got between their team and the Brotherhood under William Miles.

If you want to keep Clay alive, maybe he saved Clay and that led the Templars and the Assassins into almost recognizing him so they’re all lying low.

Altaïr being not allowed to leave the house is his punishment XD

Malik is an inch away from actually strangling the man with the lan cable for his computer because a bored Altaïr is an annoying one and Kadar took a part time job because he’s that bored.

Kadar met Desmond because his part time job is a delivery man for a specific brand of alcohol that Bad Weather keeps on stock.

Kadar recognized him immediately as William miles’ runaway son and befriended him because he’s curious.

Their friendship leads to Desmond admitting he’s curious about DnD but doesn’t have friends to play with. Kadar invites him because he has online friends that he actually plays DnD with (one of those friends being Rebecca and, if you want a watch_dog reference, Wrench) so he gets the others to play DnD as well because they’re all varying degrees of noobs.

Also, this way, Altaïr would actually have something to do XD

Before Desmond gets there, Kadar makes them promise not to talk about anything Assassin related because Desmond is the first actual offline friend Kadar has made that wasn’t part of the whole ‘we sorta got reincarnated/transmigrated into the future but we’re not gonna talk about that I guess’ thing.

Unorganized Notes:

Kadar uses 4e rules but is fast and loose with them (because I wish to give them 5e but 5e was relased in 2014 TTATT). Leonardo makes the minis but Kadar makes the maps (he does check online for references). It’s his own campaign but his online DnD group helps him (he actually plays a Rogue online named ‘Altair’ without the ‘ï’ because he’s still a fanboy)

Everyone agreed Rogue is off-limits because they might all choose Rogue and also to not tip Desmond off so no one is a Rogue. Desmond screws this up by actually picking Rogue. Desmond actually goes for Assassin Rogue because he loves irony XD His backstory is that he left a cult of assassins as a child and is trying the adventurer life. Everyone just feels a bit awkward when he told them that backstory but Desmond just breezed through that so it was just for a moment XD

Malik is an Oath of Vengeance Paladin who share the same deity as Altaïr. In-game, this is because Altaïr is a Cleric on a mission to appease their god and Malik is there to keep him in check. Out of game, Malik wants to be the one to finally annoy Altaïr this time around and this backstory gives him an excuse to do it.

Altaïr is an Arcana Domain Cleric who is on a mission of redemption as ordered by his deity. The reason why he’s in a road of redemption is unclear and it’s clear that Altaïr has no respect for his deity. In-game, everyone who worship the same deity call him their god’s ‘Chosen’ and he hates it (Kadar absolutely loves to ham out the worshipping of the 'Chosen' XD). Out of everyone, he’s the player who is absolutely min-maxing his character.

Let’s be honest, we’re all expecting Ezio to be the Bard and he is. He even plays the guitar because, according to him, it’s better than a minstrel's lute, whatever that means. Absolutely a School of Swords Bard that has the highest Charisma stat among all of them. He’s the designated leader and the one who pulled everyone together into this weird group of adventurers. He may or may not be a noble who ran away from home.

Leonardo is an Artificer. While Artificers are already available as a class in 4e, their specialties were officially created for 5e but fuck it, let’s say it’s a modified Artificer class because Leonardo should be an Artillerist Artificer. If you don’t want the Artificer class because of how questionable it is possible for 4e, my alternate suggestion is Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer for pure magic destruction or Great Old One Warlock (unli Eldritch Blast). He plays Ezio’s character’s long suffering childhood best friend who joined the group because Ezio ‘begged’.

The campaign may or may not be a chosen one absolutely not wanting to do his mission as said chosen one and being dragged along by his god approved babysitter and a misfit company (the twist is Altaïr's mission is to actually find their god's child that is supposed to save the world... it's Desmond. Desmond's the god's child. The cult he's from is worshipping the same god as Altaïr but Desmond, Altaïr and Malik don't know it. Kadar thinks he's made such a good plot twist XD)

(I left their races ambiguous for you to play with. I personally would suggest making Altaïr a kenku for the lols XD)

At the start of AC2, When Claudia finds out about Duccio having cheated on her and then claims she loved him, to which Ezio responds with "No, you just thought you did." Like, I know big bro Ezio was looking to erase some guilt and suffering off her sister's shoulders but that answer has a lot to be unpacked from because for one I frankly believe Claudia never loved her boyfriend since when you read her bio she showed signs of extreme jealousy towards other girls who would simply look at him and not only that but bullied them too, so this brief convo between both siblings backtracks into shifting the full focus on her -at times one-dimensionality, but while canon doesn't give much room for anything else besides Ezio's arc I appreciate Claudia as a character who's fully driven by anger as a self-defense mechanism; on the other hand I find it extremely funny that Ezio was merely projecting when he gives that answer to Claudia because that is how he feels about "love" as a concept and *thinks* other significant ones must feel about as well, as something to be shrugged off. At least does so until the lives of people are at stake and it's way too late to reflect upon it for second chances.
