I'm not saying anything.......I'm just talking......
While I'm talking, might as well point out that Sebastian doesn't look angry but confused at Maura's reaction, and the way she begs him to bring Eyk back. It's like he's surprised she's so moved. Combined with the way she jumps back when she sees Eyk on the spaceship, I suspect Maura and Eyk are not on good terms in the real world.

What about a Maura x Daniel AU where the 1899 setting is real though. As in Maura joins Eyk and company to check out the Prometheus and finds a starved and desperate Daniel trying to protect a barely alive Elliot. And since she’s the doctor they put both of them in the room next to her and she’s with them 24/7, getting information about the mutiny that went wrong on the Prometheus and getting to know the sweet Welsh man and the little boy he decided to take care of when his parents were killed in the mutiny.
And woops would you look at that Maura has fallen in love with one patient and wants to adopt the other.
#idk I feel like it would be very sweet surprisingly enough#the ship that was supposed to give her answers about her brother and father gave her a new (and healthier) family#Eyk insists on turning the ship around and has to fight Sebastian who tries to follow orders and sink the boat#Maura admits to being a Singleton and ultimately agrees with Eyk so they can put Henry to justice#Maura returns to London and immediately asks Daniel and Elliot to become a family and wait for the next boat over to New York#they say yes because Elliot likes this woman and Daniel is in love#and none of these people have anything they want to stay in the UK for#so bittersweet au I guess#but yeah#could be something#1899 au#my aus#maura x daniel#daniel x maura#maura franklin#daniel solace#elliot 1899#1899 spoilers#1899#1899 netflix

#1899#1899edit#1899 spoilers#eyk larsen#sebastian 1899#eyk x sebastian#the writers are very good at small quiet tragedies#and this is one of them: that there is actually a mutual respect and regard between them#but it's overruled by things far bigger#it's a very layered dynamic#(eyk & sebastian & franz are all driven by a sense of responsibility but - crucially and unfortunately - driven in different directions)#this confrontation has probably happened before and is just as brutal every time#+ I'm into the use of english vs german in this scene to highlight the impersonal vs personal strands#the matter of the key is impersonal; it's a job that must be done in order to end the simulation#the betrayal (as eyk experiences it) is personal; the apology is between them only (because sebastian knows that)#(another set that happened because I saw someone wanted to see more of these two. and it's useful to me too)
