Alternate timeline Silco & Vander have been plaguing my thoughts lately and they should plague yours too. Sit.

Silco definitely had nightmares about what happened at the river. He probably woke up in a cold sweat, adrenaline surging. And what do you do when the man across the hall is the source of your fears? Instinctively, that panic resurfaces. What if he betrays you again? Being close didn’t stop him from trying to kill you the first time. Are you truly safe? What if you screw up again, do something harder to forgive, and can’t slip away this time?

How many times had Vander heard him wake with a start but stayed where he was, knowing his presence might only make things worse? If he thought for too long, did he see Silco’s face in every reflection, pleading with his eyes? What if you lost your head again? Had you really calmed down, or did someone need to poke the bear to find out? How could you look Silco in the eyes every day, shamelessly, knowing that your mistakes are forever etched on his face?
