Much to Ethan’s dismay, glaring at the clock does not make the time trickle by any faster. This realization only irritates him more as Dr. Cyrus drones on and on about something Ethan frankly doesn't give a damn about. As per usual, the arrogant older doctor has deviated miles off topic during one of their meetings.

Feeling his temper and blood pressure reach dangerous levels, Ethan rubs his brow.

“Skip to the point, Cyrus.”

The other doctor stops abruptly, glaring at Ethan as though he had just been slapped. He knows better than to be insubordinate towards his Chief of Medicine, though. Swallowing his pride and glowing an ugly, splotchy red, he returns to the agenda.

Ten minutes later, Ethan is almost relieved to see his phone screen light up with a notification.

Ethan doesn't have to wonder what his fiancée means by that for much longer. In only minutes, his phone lights up again, this time with a photo attachment.

“Dr. Ramsey?”

Twelve pairs of eyes watch him with expressions ranging from curiosity to concern. As his brain slowly recovers, the first thought that occurs to him is truly how idiotic he must look. The phone feels like a hot stone in his hand and very hastily, he switches the screen off.

“Anything to add before we adjourn, Chief?” Cyrus prompts with a sneer, clearly enjoying Ethan's momentary lapse.

“No,” he returns, composing himself.

The two minutes it takes to conclude the hellish meeting are eternal. By the time it's finally over, he makes his escape at record speed. His phone is snugly pressed against his ear before he reaches his office, his fingers clutching the damn thing like a lifeline.

“Out so soon, babe?” Lilac's coquettish voice says by way of greeting.

“You're irreprehensible, Allende,” he returns, his voice thick and gravelly.

“I don't know what you mean.”

The taunting little lilt of her voice makes him harder.

“You sent me pictures of you naked while I was in a work meeting.”

“You sound like you're complaining.”

“I'm not.”

“And I wasn't fully naked.”

“A regrettable fact.”

“Lucky for you, I took one without clothes. And without covering anything.”

“Do I get to see it?”

“Yes, but you're gonna have to work for it.”

“Would you like me to send you one in return?”

Lilac laughs, impressed. When she recovers, her voice is a raspy little whisper that drives him crazy. God, he missed her.

“Feel free, but you'll have to do more than that. I hid it somewhere for you to find. And I left you several clues.”

“A scavenger hunt.”

“That's right. You'll have to put that gifted brain of yours to good use.”

Before Ethan can protest, she gives him a hasty but heartfelt "I love you" before ending the call. Sexually frustrated and confused, he stares at his phone, wondering how the hell he was supposed to begin the damn quest. The answer comes in a text from Lilac.

A chuckle leaves him as he pictures her obsessing over making the message rhyme.

Twenty minutes later, Ethan is pacing around the small, almost desolate waiting room in question. He glances around imperceptibly, not exactly sure about what he's looking for. A severe-looking nurse Ethan respects glances up from the nearby station. Her face betrays nothing, but Ethan can tell she's curious about what he's doing. For a wild moment, he considers asking her if she's seen anything.

“A note? An envelope? A revealing picture of Dr. Allende?”

“Are you lost, Dr. R?”

He is met with the charming, grinning face of Bryce Lahela. The surgeon leans casually against a nearby wall, watching Ethan with amused interest.

“No. I'm looking for something.”

“Something?”

Ethan says nothing, piquing Lahela's curiosity even more.

“What are you looking for?”

With a defeated sigh, Ethan explains, mentally justifying this decision with the fact that Lahela is a friend. When he's done, however, the surgeon is grinning so widely, Ethan instantly regrets it.

“A sexy scavenger hunt,” he says, nodding his approval. “Very on-brand for you two.”

“Well, have you seen anything or not?”

“Negative,” Lahela says, pushing himself off the wall. “But the good news is that you're the greatest medical detective in the country. Aside from Lilac, of course. And I'm pretty extraordinary, if I do say so myself. Between the two of us, we can figure this out.”

They didn't figure it out.

After ten minutes of searching, Ethan curses under his breath, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“What did the clue say again?”

“The place where we met. We met here.”

“That thoracotomy—I remember.” Lahela looks at the floor thoughtfully, as though willing the next clue to appear. Then, his expression lights up. “Wait, did we check the floors?”

“What?”

“Weren't you both on the floor when you met?”

Ethan glances down at the linoleum, remembering Lilac's startling green eyes, glittering with her determination to help their patient. Despite her bravery, her hands had shaken and something in Ethan had longed to steady them. The way his hand fit atop hers, even back then, had felt different. It felt right.

“Found it,” Lahela exclaims, producing a white envelope from under one of the couches.

Lahela lets out a low whistle.

“Thank God Lilac decided to pursue medicine and not poetry.”

The vending machine still looks the same as it did on that first day. And though the selection of candy housed within had changed slightly over the years, Ethan is gratified to see the same brand of dark chocolate Lilac had purchased for him (with his money).

The machine's clue leads him to Donahue's, precisely to the seat where she had found him drinking alone. That Ethan, cold and cynical, appeared like a ghost in his memory now. But even as unfeeling and jaded as he had been, his eyes gravitated to her, clad in the most outrageous green number he had ever seen and with a smile bright enough to pierce through his loneliness.

“I owe Lilac a free round,” Reggie says with amusement. “I bet you would've found that half an hour ago.”

Donahue's leads to the rose garden outside Edenbrook. After that, he ends up at Derry Roasters. Even the entrance to his old condominium is a stop.

One by one, he travels through the places where they learned more about each other. It seemed to Ethan that although everything had changed throughout the years, the corners of the world where he had fallen in love with Lilac remained untouched.

“You call yourself a fan of literature?” Ethan greets when he answers her call hours later.

“Writing in rhyme is hard,” she justifies. “I'd like to see you do better.”

“I know my strengths. As such, I'll leave all rhyme to Shakespeare and Lin-Manuel Miranda.”

She laughs.

"Are you driving?” she asks.

“Yes, I'm almost at the end of your meticulous hunt.”

“Not bad, Ramsey.”

“I'm almost at the end.”

Lilac smiles down at her phone, long after the call has ended. She can picture Ethan, determined but acutely focused on solving the mystery at hand, traveling through Boston just to humor her. Something tugs at her chest and suddenly, she misses him so much it hurts.

“See you tomorrow, Dr. Allende,” someone says in passing.

The hotel lobby is so crowded that she is not sure who the speaker had been.

With a less than graceful yawn, she stores her phone in her pocket and trudges toward the elevator. After a busy couple of days, all she cares about is her plush, comfortable, King-size bed.

She only makes it a few paces before she feels her body gently pulled against something hard, like a solid wall. Startled, she tries to swivel around but strong hands hold her in place. A rich, expensive cologne flirts with her nostrils, before a familiar, baritone voice murmurs in her ear—

“I win.”

She turns now, letting out a delighted laugh. Her arms wrap around his neck, his own encircle her waist, lifting her from the floor. A quick but passionate kiss punctuates their ecstatic greeting.

“What are you doing here?”

Ethan smirks down at her with that rare amusement he saves only for her. There's something else in his expression, though, something urgent as his eyes drink her in. It makes her skin buzz like an exposed wire.

“I decided half way through the hunt that a mere picture wouldn't be enough.”

“It was a damn good picture.”

“I don't doubt it.” He leans down to kiss her. “I just needed to hold the real thing in my arms.”

When they break apart, she beams at him.

“Worth the two hour drive?”

“Every minute.” He kisses her again, unbothered by the glances they were getting.

Heart fluttering like a hummingbird, she tugs his hand, guiding him toward the elevator. Ethan, however, doesn't move. That intensity in his blue eyes presses further into her, pinning her in place.

“I'm trying to take you to bed, Dr. Ramsey.”

“I love you.”

She stops.

The words are not new to her but they still robbed her breath every time.

“I love you, too,” she tells him.

Ethan nods once.

“Going to all those places tonight made me realize how desperately I wanted to tell you that when we were there. And I also realized I am never wasting another opportunity to tell you.”

Nung umulan ng gayuma dahil masyadong bobo si Kuroo at napulot ito ni Tanaka, abala naman si Ushijima Wakatoshi - ang volleyball captain ng ABM volleyball team - sa pambibwisit sa binilhan niya ng secondhand na laptop. Dahil dito, na-uno reverse card siya ng online seller: bwinisit din siya gamit ang sumpa. Anong sumpa? Ang magpalit sila ng katawan ni Y/N Oikawa - kapatid ng volleyball captain ng STEM volleyball team.

Osamu Miya's lips twitched at the sight of Ushijima Wakatoshi - ang customer niya nung nakaraang 4 na linggo.

Binili nito ang laptop niya pero apat na beses na itong pabalik-balik sa kaniya. Kesyo raw there's something wrong with the laptop and that makes Osamu's advertisement not true to its worth bla bla bla.

Tapos 'yung mali lang pala may kaonting gasgas, may dumi, blah blah blah TANGA BA 'TO? SECONDHAND NGA, 'DI BA?

Osamu heaved a sigh. Kalma, boss. Customer 'to and the customer is always right.

"Good afternoon po," Ushijima greeted politely when he entered the 7/11 convenience store.

"Afternoon, ano na naman problema?" Sinabi 'to ni Osamu in the MOST polite way possible HAHAHAHAHA.

"Sabi niyo po kasi in good condition pa laptop mo," sabi ni Ushijima while pulling the laptop from his bag, "Pero..."

Hindi mapakaling pabalik-balik ang tingin ni Osamu sa relo at kay Ushijima. May customer pa kasi siyang kikitain pagkatapos nito. 'Yung nag-order ng Korean face mask pero tatlong linggo na ang lumipas at 'di pa rin pinipick-up potangina fucking shit.

"Pero...?" <- Osamu

"May gasgas po," Ushijima opened the laptop, "Here po."

Tinuro ni Ushijima ang gasgas na may 30% opacity. Kailangan pa mag-squint para makita.

Napangiwi si Osamu. Potangina, gas-gas na 'yan?

Magsasalita pa sana si Osamu nang biglang may lumapit sa kanilang estudyante na same ang uniform ng kay Ushijima.

"Excuse me po. Kayo si Osamu? Ako po 'yung buyer ng Korean face mask. Asan na po face mask ko?" Naiinip na sinabi nung estudyante kay Osamu.

Magsasalita pa sana si Osamu nang nagsalita na naman si Ushijima, "Sir? Paano na po 'to? May remedy pa ba nito?"

Napapikit si Osamu sa ingay at pagod pero 'di pa rin tumigil sa pagsasalita ang dalawang chararat.

"Sir? Anuna?"

"Kyah, asan na mask, kyah?"

"Ser, ser-"

"Stop...stop..." Osamu said in labored breaths habang hinahawakan ang dibdib niya na para bang may pinipigilan.

"Ser-"

"Kyah, 150 lang-"

"Open-minded ka ba?" Kung ano-anong chararat na ang sinasabi ng dalawa.

"Enough..." Osamu whispered.

"Kuya-"

"Sir-"

"ENOUGH!" SIGAW NI OSAMU AT PUTANGINA MEN, LUMUTANG SIYA BIGLA SA ERE.

"OWSHIIII!" <- Sigaw ni Y/N dahil tumilapon siya sa sahig dahil sa hangin effect.

Tahimik lang si Ushijima dahil naka dodge siya.

Nagbago ang anyo ni Osamu. His eyes and entire body are glowing and his hair grew. Mga at least 4 inches ganern. Ang suot niyang hoodie ay naging kulay gold dahilan para masilaw si Ushijima and Y/N.

"Wakatoshi, Y/N, you have been very very bad today and Daddy likes to punish bad, bad, kittens." JOKE.

"Wakatoshi, Y/N, dahil mga tarantado kayong mga hinayupak kayo, lalagyan ko kayo ng sumpa," sabi ni Osamu at nakaupo na sa ere. 'Di ko ma-explain, basta hindi na siya nakatayo.

"T-Teka, anuraw?" <- Y/N

"Sumpa?" <- Ushijima

But before they could even ask Osamu what he meant, Osamu snapped. And along with the snap of his finger ay lumiwanag ang buong 7/11.

Nung nawala na ang ilaw, nawala na rin si Osamu at naiwan sina Y/N at Ushijima na parang mga tanga.

JFR: Chapter 2

"Sigurado kaba talaga jan sa kinukwento mo?!" I can't believe she's my bestfriend when she does not even believe me nung sinabi kong nagdinner si Andre sa bahay. Ganyan naba talaga ako ka illusionada sa paningin niya?

"Ano ka ba? Ako na kaibigan mo ayaw mo paniwalaan?!" I really can't believe her! May mga panahong nag iilusyon ako tungkol samin ni Andre pero hindi naman ganyan ka kapal ang mukha ko para gumawa ng kwento ano, I keep all my daydreams to myself.

"HADES is giving away roses sa mga babaeng na dadaanan nila!" Napalingon kaming dalwa ni Pauline kay Lizel, kakalase naming matuturing mo na news reporter na din namin. Sakanya mo malalaman ang latest chismis ng Madison, kahit nga mga tungkol sa college students e alam niya.

"Pero hindi binigay ni Andre ang mga bulaklak na dala niya unlike the other four." Dagdag ni Althea. The girls in our room went out para salubungin ang bandang HADES nina Andre. Ang mga lalaki nama'y walang pakialam.

Hinila ako ni Pau papalabas ng room at sakto namang namataan naming ang groupong kinakikiligan ng mga babae sa corridor.

Nauna si Exodus sa kanila, namimigay siya ng mga bulaklak; siya ang babaero ng groupo. May lahing inchik ito kaya ay singkit ang mga mata at maputi siya. He has these broad shoulders na masasabi mo talagang bunga ng pag g-gym niya. Palabiro ito at mejo malandi narin. Mejo nga ba?

Hansel is the smartest among all of them. Kilala siyang mabait at matulungin kaya naman ay may mga babaeng nag papanggap na nahulog ang gamit o kaya'y natapilok sa harapan niya upang matulungan niya lang. There are also those lucky girls na naihahatid niya pauwi dahil nga akala niyang "hindi na talaga makalakad" ang mga ito. Sa pagkakaalam ko naman ay inuuwi niya talaga ito sa mga bahay nila at hindi sa sarili niyang bahay. He's also half chinese ang his mother is a college friend ng mama ko dahil ka batch niya ito dati sa Ateneo.

David Williams is the funniest guy of the group. May pagka Moreno ito dahil mas namamayagpag sa kanyang balat ang pagiging Pilipino niya. Walang magaakalang may dugong Americano ito sa unang tingin. Madami siyang bagong magic tricks na ginagamit niya sa mga kababaihang lumalapit sa kanya katulad ng biglaang pagkakasulpot ng rosas galing sa tenga ng isang babae. I find it corny pero bentang-benta sa iba.

Santiago or Santi as most people know him is Pauline's childhood friend. He's partly Spanish at halos taon-taon ay pumupunta silang Spain para bisitahin ang ibang kapamilya doon. May nagsasabingang doon daw siya mga co-college. Ang hindi ko lang ma gets ay kung bakit hindi nag papansinan ang dalawa kapag nadadaanan namin. Base sa kwento ni Pau, sobrang close daw nila noong maliliit pa sila hanggang sa lumipad ito ng Espanya noong grade 6 ito at doong namalagi ng 2 taon. He came back at hindi na niya pinapansin si Pauline which shocked her so much pero pinabayaan nalang niya.

Andre Arthur Pineda had always been a dream for me. Unang kita ko pa lang sa kanya kahit noong hindi pa sila bumubuo ng banda ay nahulog na ako sa kanya. I find it funny using the word "nahulog" dahil elementary palang ako noon pero parang ganun talaga ang naramdaman ko. He has these expressive eyes and a captivating smile. He is indeed every girl's dream. Matalino, mabait, gwapo, flexible at bonus na nga na mayaman siya. He has this angelic face and he's walking towards me.

"Oh my gosh Stella! Papunta ata sayo si Andre!" Napigil ako sa pagiilusyon ko ng narinig ko si Liezel. Nilingon ko si Stella, of course, he's heading to Stella. Sino ba naman ako compared to last last year's Ms. Intramurals, last last year's Lakambini ng Kalikasan and this year's incoming Ms. Madison High diba? Kahit na may pagkamalandi ang babaeng ito ay sigurado akong wala akong panama sa ganda ni Stella Fortunato, every guy's dream. She's tall and has a small pale white face. Makikita mo talaga sa kanya na inaalagaan niya ang sarili niya. She has this fair glass skin and a body that makes every boy in Madison High go crazy over her. She's like Madison High's living goddess. Sa pagkakaalam ko nga abot college ang mga nagkakacrush sa kanya.

Having Andre to like her will also be like a trophy for her at ang kukumpleto ata sa linya ng mga napanalunan niyang title na nasa bahay nila ngayon.

Ever since kinder dito na ako nagaral sa Madison at mula pa noon ay naging classmate ko na si Stella. Kahit noong mga bata pa kami ay hindi ko kailan man naalalang naging close kami. Feeling ko kasi magmumukhang alalay lang ako kapag itinabi sa kanya.

Nagiba ang mukha ni Stella na kanina ay matagumpay at ngayon naman ay parang gulat na gulat na nakitingin sakin. What's with her? Nakakunot ang noo nitong tumingin sa direksyon ko. Aba nakatayo lang nga ako dito walang ibang ginawa kundi puriin siya. Sa tagal ng panahong kilala ko siya I knew I never wanted to mess with her. She was the kind of girl who's so full of herslef kaya most of the time pagna offend mo siya or na lalampasan mo na siya, she would bully you. Sikat pa naman siya sa school and also she has her ways to look like siya pa yung kawawa.

"Sino bang naka agaw ng paningin mong kanina'y nasakin, binibini?" Lumaki ang mata kong nilingon ang lalaking may pamilyar na boses na nagsasalita sa gilid ko. Naagaw niya ang atensyon kong kanina'y nasa kay Stella. Si Pauline ay parang na loloka nang hinahampas ako sa kabilang gilid ko pero parang hindi ko nararamdaman ang sakit ng makita ko si Andre sa harapan kong inaabot ang isang kumpol ng putting rosas. May ribbon itong nakatali sa mga bulaklak. Wait, ito ba ang premyo ko kasi hindi ko nakalimutang magdasal kaninang umaga?

"Tinanggal ko ang tinik para sayo. Ako mismo nagtanim at nag alaga niyan, Roan." I don't know how I'm still able to stand up straight kahit na ang pakiramdam ko'y para na akong natutunaw.

"Para sakin talaga 'to?" Pagsisiguradon tanong ko dito. Mabuti nang masigurado baka ipapasuyo niya lang pala sakin upang ibigay sa kaklase ko.

He nodded at inilapit niya ang distansya ng mukha naming dalawa at inangat ang kamay niya't inayos ang nakatakas kong buhok at inilagay ito sa likod ng aking tenga. I can hear my heart beat at nagtataka ako kung naririnig niya rin ba ito? Itinaas niya pa ang kanyang mga kamay at hinawakan ang parte ng ulo ko kung saan ako natamaan ng bola kahapon.

"Masakit paba?" I was dumbfounded at what just happened na hindi ko halos ma proseso lahat. Imbes na magsalita ako'y umiling lang ako. Hindi naman talaga masakit na, kahapon pa.

"Mabuti naman. Classes are about to start, alis na muna kami." A simple okay was my only reply. I don't know how to react. That was Andre Pineda there and I really can't believe that he talked to me that close.

"Oh my gosh Roan hindi ka pala talaga nagsisinungaling!" Kanina pa ako naiinis kay Pauline ah. Did she really believe I was lying about what happened yesterday? I glared at her as a response. Gusto kong matakot siya sa mga tingin ko upang tigilan na niya ako dahil gusto kong makinig sa teacher namin.

Inikot ko ang tingin ko sa buong classroom. Kanina ko pa napapansin ang mga bulong bulungan ng mga kaklase ko at ang nakamamatay at puno ng inis na tingin ni Stella. So parang kasalanan ko pa ngayon ang mabigyan ng bulaklak?

"Can't you all pay attention? Kanina pa ako naglelecture dito at parang may sariling business kayo jan ha?" Napatingin kaming lahat sa harap kung nasaan ang mgalit na galit na si Mrs. Ponte. She looks like she's going to eat us all. "Okay open your books and answer the chapter review of the whole Chapter 5 pages 127-129. Babalik ako dito and I will collect your papers after 30 minutes." Lumabas na si Mrs Ponte and everyone groaned. Isang buong chapter review ba naman ang pasagutan sayo ng trenta minutos?

Stella stood up and she looked so mad at me. "This is your fault! Kung hindi ka lang pabida sana nakapagconcentrate kami lahat dito" She was pointing at me while accusing me sa isang bagay na sobrang babaw na hindi ko maintindihan kung anong koneksyon ng pagiging malandi niya sa pagiging distracted niya sa klase.

"Oh shut up Stella! Hindi lang ikaw ang babae sa campus." Mike silenced her and she was so shocked. Anong akala niya itotolerate siya nito dahil ex niya ito? She immediately sat down at nag simula ng gawin yung pinapagawa ni Mrs. Ponte.

Natapos na ako sa pagsasagot ng tiningnan ko ang orasan ko. I still have 5 minutes left before Mrs. Ponte comes back. Inikot ko ulit ang tingin ko sa buong class room at napatigil ako ng nakita ko si Xander na naglalakad sa corridor kasama ang mga kabarkada niyang lalaki sa strand niya. Sa pagkakaalam ko ay STEM ang kinuha nito kaya ay nasa kabilang building ang classroom niya kaya nga nakapagtataka kung bakit siya narito.

It's quite a miracle that he does not have girls around him o baka narito iyan sa building namin para makapag girl hunting. Lumingon siya sa banda ng classroom namin at nagkatitigan kaming dalawa. Kitang kita namin ang isa't isa sa glass ng classroom at hindi niya inalis ang tingin saakin hanggang sa nakalagpas na siya ng classroom ko. Ano nanaman ba ang problema niya?

"Okay class, time's up! Pass your papers." Biglang dumating si Mrs. Ponte at dali-dali naming ipinasa ang mga papel sa harapan. Umalis din naman siya agad pagkatapos kinuha ang mga papel namin.

"Ro, alis na muna ako ha si Frank kasi may lagnat walang magbabantay nun ngayon kasi stay out lang yung katulong niya at pauwi na yun ngayong 5." Tinangoan ko naman si Pauline. Boyfriend niya si Frank na isang taon ang tanda saamin. Uuwi narin naman ako dahil may varsity practice si Lance ngayon at maraming pa akong gagawin kaya ay hindi kona siya mahihintay.

Habang naglalakad patungong gate ay napansin ko ang laki at lawak ng Madison High. Mas malaki pa ito kumpara sa College campus na katabi lang nito pero na didivide ng isang mataas na pader. Doon nagaral si papa at nakilala naman niya si mama sa labas ng campus ng Madison college habang kumakain ng kwek-kwek. Sabi ni papa, it was actually love at first sight at sabi naman ni mama it was hate at first sight. Kung nagandahan ang papa ko kay mama ay nainis naman si mama kay papa dahil kilala itong mejo mahangin sa course nila. Lagi daw nagtatambay si papa sa labas ng Madison upang makita si mama na naglalakad pagkatapos ng klase nito dahil malapit lang din ang campus dito sa Ateneo.

Napaupo ako sa waiting shed saglit at tiningnan kong mabuti ang mga bulaklak na inabot ni Andre saakin. I never even imagined na makikilala niya ako tapos ngayon, ito? Siguro naging mabait ako these past days para madeserve ko ang nangyayari saakin ngayon.

"So you think you're so pretty now that Andre gave you those flowers?"

Napaangat ang ulo ko sa sinabi ni Stella. Alam kong siya yun, of course sino ba naman ang bitter dito dahil ako ang nakatanggap ng mga bulaklak. Well, it's not like wala siyang natanggap kaya hindi ko maintindihan ang babaeng ito.

"Hindi kayo bagay. Keep in mind na siguro na kokonsensya si Andre sa nagawa niya kahapon kaya ka niya hinigay yan sayo. Don't think you're in his level now that you have those flowers." I kept quite. Gusto ba tagala ng babaeng ito si Andre? Bat di niya landiin bat ako pinagiinitan niya?

"So nasaang level ka naman ngayon, Stella?" Napalingon kaming dalawa ni Stella sa gilid. Xander is walking towards us with hands in hs pocket with a badboy look, as usual. "Don't you think you're stooping so low making an issue over some flowers? Sinabi ba ni Andre na dapat sayo yun in the first place or kayo ba nung tao?"

Stella's jaw dropped. I never even imagined Xander to be this harsh. It was a complete slap in the face. Wow, just wow.

"I'm not done with you." Ani Stella tapos ay umalis na. Wow Xander got her to shut up. May utang talaga ako sa lalaking ito.

"Umuwi kana. It's going to get late soon." Ani Xander at tatalikod na sana ng nagsalita ako.

"Thank you, Xan. I owe you that one. Ikaw hindi ka din ba uuwi na?"

"Magiisip isip muna ako dito." He laughed after saying those words at naglakad na ako papuntang gate 3.

Napatigil ako sa paglalakad ng nakita ko sa Andre na nakasandal sa sasakyan niya. He was smiling at me. Wait sakin ba talaga? Nilingon ko ang likod ko at napansing wala masyadong tao at halos kukuha lang ng sasakyan nila ang dumaraan ditto.

Nasa gate 3 kasi ako ng High school Dept. kung saan ang parking lot ng mga studyanteng may sasakyan. Kokonti lang ang may sasakyan ditto dahil kaka-18 palang ng iba. Sa gate 1 naman ang main gate ng campus at kung saan dumaraan ang teachers na may mga sasakyan dahil mas malapit doon ang parking lot nila. Mas madami ding bumababang studyante doon dahil mas malaki iyon kumpara ditto. Ang gate 2 naman ay ang maliit na gate na nagkokonekta sa High School at College Campus. Ditto ako dumaraan dahil mas madali lang akong makakahanap ng jeepney ditto papunta sa subdivision namin.

Umayos sa pagkakatayo si Andre at unting lumalapit sakin habang ako naman din ay lumalapit sa kanya. "Pwede ba kitang ihatid ngayon?" Aniya ng magkalapit kami.

"Bakit?" I sound confused and amazed at the same time. Bakit nga ba? Anong meron sakin at ihahatid niya ako?

"I just wanna make sure you get home safe." He answered with a smile. I don't know but I guess my dream is finally coming true.

Filipino Art and Culture Appreciation

Many would think that going to a museum is boring and not so very much a millennial thing to do. But as I have experienced visiting the museum, I highly suggest this activity for pleasure and for learning alike and for IG! (Haha!)

First Stop: National Museum of Fine Arts

National Museum of Fine Arts houses most of the exquisites and most beautiful masterpieces by famous artists (paint and sculpture) such as that of Juan Luna, Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo, Fernando Amorsolo among others.

We entered the gagartuan room in our most Pinoy pride strut and we were welcomed by the gigantic obra — The Spoliarium. I am surprised knowing that it was that huge, magnificent, and I could say abstruse that I stare in amazement. This is just one of the many incredibly beautiful pieces of arts by great artists in which in their talent expressed the wonderful ideas of their minds into tangible works of art for the pleasure of the eyes, commune of the hearts, and often, to overwhelm the silence of the mind.

According to Cesar A. Cruz, "Art should comfort the disturbed, and disturb the comfortable." I experienced both.

Second Stop: National Museum of Anthropology

Tried to pull-off an ethnic-artist-like get-up to look like someone-who-knows-art-better and I ended up one-with-the-art-installations (haha!) I could say that my tagabukid self could line up with that of Dong Abay, Kidlat Tahimik, Ben Cab, and then there's me — Enteng Anyong Lupa.

It is very interesting to know how the ancient Filipino society operated and get to know more of who we are today based on what and how we were before: their arts, craftmanship, and way of life. This is the very first time that I was able to see the Bangang Manunggul right in front of my eyes; a functional piece of prime Filipino product showcasing their spiritual beliefs and arts in strong symbolism.

This museum also contains the hall for the Baybayin (Ancient and Traditional Scripts of the Philippines) as well as an exhibition featuring the tattoo artist Whang Od. Aside from that was a hall containing the masterpieces from the National Living Treasure (Manlilikha ng Bayan) artists and also, the exhibit on Hibla ng Lahing Filipino.

This is such an excellent experience and I was so amazed with the beauty and magnifence of the arts. But what I can say is that, the artists are far more perfect and awesome than their arts as they were created by the ultimate, benevolent, and omnipotent God.

Just like you — you are a masterpiece: good, pleasing, perfect! You are beautiful and deserve the right kind of love, like a precious piece of art in a museum.

Magnetic lashes from Moxie Lashes were one of my favorite discoveries of 2019. I went from being a lash applicaton novice to pro in a week!

There have been times when I am getting ready where I ask myself: How can achieve the look of an old Hollywood starlet without having eyelahes worth batting? Answer: I can’t. I’m Danyelle and I was born with basic eyelashes. But! I, too, can get that romantic, starry gaze with the blessing that is a pair false lashes.

Forget magnetic lashes that require a map of an upper and lower set that is just confusing and -let’s be real- doesn’t work. Moxie Lahes works with a cute pair of false magnetic lashes and an eyeliner that is -yup! Magentic! Simply apply the liner then pop the lashes right on. It is as easy as it sounds!

My trouble with applying eyelashes in the past is the same problem I run into with all things beauty. I can’t see without my glasses. At all. You could imagine how nervous I’d get when I’d try to apply traditional lashes with glue. I’d take my 10x magnified lighted mirror and I would give myself heart palpitations worrying that I would get glue in my eye. Add in the fact that the glue is time sensitive: apply too soon and your lashes will slip all over your face; apply too late and you just end up having to apply more glue.

I started with the Classy Lash

This is the perfect introductionary style of lashes. They are on the smaller side. In wearing these lashes, I wanted my eyes to just stand out from behind my glasses. I thought of a friend whose lashes are just naturally stunning and they frame her big beautiful eyes -honestly, mascara needs her. So I hoped that the Classy lashes gave me the “just born with it look.” They did!

Wearing these lashes was so easy! These are a true ‘day-to-day’ style of lashes -a statement I never thought I would actually believe but I do! Because I was so new to lashes, I though that I would put on the Classy lashes and would feel them on my face all day. I didn’t. After I stopped flirting with my own reflection and thinking, “Wow, que fancy! I’m a lash lady,” I didn’t even notice them.

I wore them for about 7 hours and I would say around hour 5, my eyes started to get tired. I’ve worn them a few more times and I last a little longer each time. Wearing lashes -magnetic, dramatic, or otherwise- requires some training.

Each time I wear tested a pair of the Moxie Lashes

I brought with me a mini magnified mirror. I wanted to make sure the lashes were staying in place and the liner wasn’t cracking or flaking. Each time I used the liner, it lasted nicely throught the day. The outer corners did smudge a little but I have watery eyes so that’s to be expected.

Baddy Lashes had me feeling some type of way

And that way was incredibly self conscious. Do I look like a fine muchachita swimming in disposable income -yer. This was a whole new level for me! These are nice but Classy Lash was more my speed. I was wear testing the Baddy Lashes while running errands for work. While at Staples, I couldn’t find what I was looking for and felt shy about asking someone for help -something I almost never shy away from in a store. I felt too glam to just be at a Staples in Jersey City. In the right setting, maybe I would’ve felt more confident being a full on Baddy.

The outer corner did hang a little low. I used a heated lash curler to perk them up but they did eventually fall. They also were a little too long to wear with glasses. I lasted about 5 hours before I had to peel them off because I could feel my eyes getting sleepy and I still had to drive home.

Flirty Lashes

If Classy Lashes are an everyday style and Boddy Lashes are a style for an extraordinary night out, Flirty Lashes are that perfect in between. Great for a day wear you want to feel extra special without looking overdone. They also work for any evening look.

What I liked about the Flirty Lashes was that they brought some drama to a casual look. I don’t think the shape was the most flattering eyes my eyes because I have hooded eyes. I still liked the look, though.

I was very impressed with the Moxie Lashes!

This was my gateway to other lashes because I was able to practice placement without fretting over glue getting in my eye or timing.

I got the best results of magnetism and longevity when I applied two layers of the liquid eyeliner -which are actually the directions. I gave it a few minutes to fully dry before applying the lashes. The lashes also latch to the liner most effectively when you clean off the liner from the magnets before each use. Moxie Lashes createda cotton swabs moistened with olive oil that can help you do that. The cotton swabs also help with getting the liner off.

Word of caution:

If you have watery eyes, like I do, applying an extra layer on the inner corner will only make removing your makeup take longer. The magnet is wet from you eyes. Try to dry it off a little then push back into place.

I love that the Moxies Lashes boxes are color coded to make finding your lash style easy!

I finally got to experience the elation of removing lashes at the end of the day. I had always heard influencers say it was comparable to taking your bra off after a long day. I underestimated how true that was!

Moxies Lashes really gave me a tool to learn to apply lashes! They got me ready to the Dash of Downtown Lashes! This was me realizing that the Smith + 9th style make me look so dang ca-ute!
