If you reach for the stars the only thing you'll land on is a star.. When there are moments we doubt ourselves there's a lesson I'll always relate to. One day there was this old gentleman in the park fishing at the pond. Blind to scene around him he would tend to drop stuff. On this day he dropped the bait needed to catch the fish. A young man with a trouble pass walked by and was ready to rob him. The old man said "Before you take my money please pass me the bait!" The kid trouble and confused walked on by. The old man kept fishing like no normal, but the man came back. The old man told the young man if he knew how to fish ? The young man didn't so he picked up bait and followed each instruction to the letter. Hours went by the young man didn't catch any fish, but used up all the old man's bait. The young man looked over saw a old man smiling as he caught a bunch of fish. The young man asked "How did he do it ?" The old man said "All things will come to you when your patient!" Without even know the young man caught his first fish, they smiled and laughed. Many years went by that young man had a family and would one day teach his son how to fish. His son asked "Dad why are we doing this !" The young man replied "There once a was old man who was blind to this world but shine bright in his who taught a trouble kid a way to see the beautiful of this world!" A Break from my Routine Different types of light illuminate from the Sun. Different type of frequencies as I try to catch love's tune. I take a moment to breathe as the day got away from me. Running with the sun to catch it's radiance, as I drift on the clouds of my environment. Pushed away the hate, drown out the noise, as I sat speechless to harmonies the Jazz played. Lost track of time as her sweet voice rang, the horns from traffic, as the beat of the drums mixed. The song was the Melody around me, and the background was you. The clock striked 2 P.M, put back on my sunglasses, as it was time to repeat my routine. The chance I break away from my routine I'm stuck with moments like this. Small time we'll spent, as I drift back to the scene I have become used too.. An Old Picture from a Dark Place There was a time I my days was long. The sun could shine but all I saw was clouds of gray. It was a lonely place, filled with me being isolated, and what sucked more I tend push people away. It wasn't that I disliked people I just slowly started to see what "Truth" the mask my enemies would wear. I dream was to be a hero, but I picked up to many battles I was unequipped to fight . Needless to say I won, but those scars took a long time to heal, but the days leading up to this was painful. Many broken promises was cast to my shore line but I never opened the bottles. High of a disbelief I needed an escape, so with an argument with my brother I left. Went to a place foreign to me, but my eyes finally saw something beauty. Big Bear was good to me, I was able to enjoy the moments that was shared, and this is where I returned to my first love. You see I took a 3 year break from poetry, and being on an island your mind tend to make Bridges impossible for anyone to cross.
