Looking for RP Partner
💖Intro💖
Hello wonderful people! 👋
I'm looking for some roleplay partners. I don't really have a limit on how many I want to take in or anything, so if you're interested, then let me know in the dms! But before you message me, please kindly read the following notes about me and what I'm looking for. Even if you don't meet all the criteria, I'm more than willing to give you a chance! Though age is a hard requirement that has to be met! Anything with a * next to it is a requirement I’m looking for in a partner.
Most, if not all roleplays will be NSFW
Yes, it'll have some spicy times in it, but it's mostly deemed NSFW because of the themes I like to write.
Dark themes, triggering situations, adult content - everything, of course, will be preplanned with long discussions of triggering topics, hard limits and such.
🔞 Partners must be at least 19+!🔞*
My style is 3rd pov, past tense.
I’m looking for someone who also does 3rd pov, past tense, but I will also accept present tense as well!
Semi to Literate*
I love long replies and I do enjoy giving them as well. However, I understand that sometimes you can't always give long responses, and that's okay too. I just ask no one-liners
Currently looking for MxM pairings and plots!*
I do not stick to one plot!
This just means I'm open to having more than one plot going with many different face claims. So if you would like to plot a pirate au with Hongjoong from Ateez and a wolf au with Chanyeol from EXO, I'm the person for you!
Currently there is no limit for the amount of plots I will do with one person.
I control more than one character
This is different from god-modding
This just means that in our plot, I can (and prefer) to control more than one character. So while my main face claim may be Chan from Stray Kids, I may also play Felix and Seungmin to add a little more substance and character development to the plot.
While I would like for you to also have more than one character, I don’t expect it of you if you’re not comfortable with it.
With regards to NPCs (the barista working at the café they visit, or the random people they meet along the way), either one of us can control them at any time as long as it’s to move the plot along.
Preferred platforms:
Line
Discord
As of right now, I think that's everything. Again, if you're interested, pm me! If you have any questions, also pm me!!

Weekends will bring more replies, unless I have plans with friends/family or I’m on call for work
My face claims are never set. So if you're looking for a specific person, please review the list of face claims I rp and let me know. Otherwise I'll base my face claims on what the plot is.

🖋 Writing Samples 🖋
OC Character - Kayden Park
Kayden was overjoyed. He hadn’t thought tulips would grow at this time of the year, but entering the garden he found a wide variety of them, pristine and in full bloom. They were the one flower that Kayden had really hoped would grow because after he read what their meanings were, he knew almost instantly who he wanted to give them to.
Specifically the red tulips.
Some might say he falls too easily and others might say he loves too hard. But in reality, Kayden couldn’t control who he was or how he felt about people. When he found someone he liked, he became attached to them, trying to be as close as possible while nurturing their growing relationship - whatever it might be. Even if that person got on his nerves all the time, or they ended up doing things that very honestly scared him, ending a relationship just wasn’t in Kayden’s vocabulary.
Red tulips symbolize true love, or a soulmate. Kayden had a specific person in mind and while he wouldn’t say it was true love - hell Atreyu could barely stand him in a good - he did think the other was his soulmate. Despite their ups and downs and the multitude of times he was locked out of the dorm and left to fend for himself for the night, Kayden knew that what he had with Atreyu was special - indescribable even.
And while he couldn’t find the words, he knew the flowers would do the best job. So after carefully plucking five of the tulips, he handed back inside and to his room where he had left his roommate. Atreyu had been in one of his moods again, refusing to speak to Kayden, so hopefully the flowers would double as something to cheer him up.
“Atreyu~!” he sang happily as he opened the door, hoping he hadn’t disturbed the other but knowing he probably did. He braced himself to be hit with a pillow or something, even a “go away” in his harsh and icy tone. But when he got no greeting in return, Kayden took a moment to actually look around the room.
It was empty.
And not just in a way that said Atreyu left to go mope somewhere. It was truly empty. The smile on his face slowly fell as he stepped into the room. His bed was made, but it lacked a lived-in feel - as if a maid had come in and just fixed the bed to make it look presentable. The nightstand next to the bed was barren, everything Atreyu had kept there gone.
Kayden didn’t want to jump to conclusions but his mind was already racing. He crossed the space quickly and yanked open the drawers. Barren. Turning, he moved to the closet next and opened it. Nothing. Everything that had belonged to Atreyu was gone.
He was gone.
As Kayden stood there, reality slowly came crashing down as he realized he was alone. No note. No text. No goodbye. He clenched the tulips tightly in his hand before releasing them and letting them drop to the floor.
Stupid.
He had been so stupid and this is what he got.
Silently, Kayden walked over to his bed and sat down on it gingerly, eyes staring blankly ahead.
Alone.
No matter what he did, he was always going to be alone.

ABO AU - Chan, Jisung, Seungmin, Changbin
Jisung laughed and nodded, pulling back some from the other. “Tonight…supposedly.” He said and shrugged. “But my body has been weird lately, so it may hold off another day. I hope it does cause I wanna be able to spend time with you. It’s been so long.”
Jisung had honestly missed the omega. He hadn’t seen Hyunjin since the night of the attack. The last thing Jisung could recall was rolling on top of Hyunjin to protect him from the blade before calling for help. Chan had told him already that if it weren’t for him, Hyunjin probably would have ended up dying.
So if that meant Jisung suffered from nightmares and a sore side (with a near death experience of his own), then so be it. It was worth it.
He grunted when Felix suddenly tackled them both, hugging them tightly. “Yeah! What Lixie said.” He said and whined. “Felix, my side.” He hissed softly.
Chan watched the three, smiling fondly. He walked over and patted Felix’s head gently. “Come in Lix, be careful with them.” He said gently. “They’re both still healing.”
Seungmin peeked his head out of the kitchen before hiding once more, afraid to face Hyunjin. He felt so guilty still for turning his back on the omega so fast. Things from that had been hectic, chaotic. Feelings were hurt, people were hurt and Seungmin may have chosen the wrong side.
He still fully believed how things were handled was inexcusable and that was mostly on Chan’s part but knowing the other was Hyunjin’s soulmate and seeing first hand what a soulmate bond looked like through Jisung and Minho, Seungmin sort of understood where everyone was coming from. It couldn’t be helped, the attraction.
He wanted to apologize for being such an ass but he was afraid Hyunjin wouldn’t accept it. He didn’t want to cause discourse in the pack because the others seemed so hellbent on getting Hyunjin in the pack and they were happy. He would be happy too, he just wasn’t sure if Hyunjin would be happy around him.
Meanwhile, Changbin made his exit from the kitchen and smiled. “We’ll looky here.” He called. “Chan really did bring us a present.” He teased.
If you have made this far down, thank you so much!!! If you're interested at all in rping, please send me a dm or an ask! I'm looking for long term partners to create beautiful worlds together!

Bound by Blood (I)
Word Count: 3,849
Genre: Vampire! AU, Arranged Marriage! AU
Pairing: Yixing x Reader
Summary: As the princess of one of the six clans sired from the witch who was originally cursed with the vampire virus, you were beckoned to be married to a young Prince before he can assume the throne. You may find more than just your fiance when you arrive.
This was never a life that you asked for. Surviving on the blood of others, and human blood being the only one that tasted the best and lasted the longest. Vampires were always thought to be fiction. Something that the humans would fantasize about and turn into something to enjoy when they were bored in book or televised form. But for you, it was the most real thing in your life. If you could even call it a life. Being immortal since birth, is that something that you could even call a life? You were conceived between two immortals. Your father always told you that your clan began when a mysterious virus infected his forefathers. It was believed to be from a witch who wanted to stay youthful and beautiful for eternity, but when she turned she had no idea that the only thing that would sustain her was blood. My grandmother claimed that she fed on her children while being driven mad with hunger. How horrible it must have been to receive a curse which was disguised as a blessing.
There are several clans which all began with one of the witch’s sires. Six in total, and they are spread out all over the world. We interact with humans, but they still aren’t fully aware of our species yet. Being the “princess” of the Ambrogio clan, you were obligated to sit in at the meetings with the elders. One of which you were currently in and wishing that you could practice your archery instead. Particularly because you were the topic of conversation.
“The Kharis Clan has just had some interesting occurrences,” Mikal was more lively than usual. Your uncle was many centuries older than your father, but he was never fit to take the throne. So, he opted for the head council position instead. “The eldest son has just been announced to be taking the throne from his father, whom is presumed to have grown tired of ruling.” He then turned to you, “A princess is required before he can officially assume the position. And he has requested that she be from one of the three original clans.” You were the eldest daughter in the house, which meant that you would be in the running. You immediately shot up from your chair. “Uncle, I would have appreciated this announcement in private before you presented it to the rest of the Elders.” Your father gave you a side glance. Since you were not queen, you did not have the authority to speak out like that during the council. You gave an apologetic bow as your father raised his hand to quiet you further. “This is wonderful news for the whole clan. Of course, we will accept the union if the prince so wishes.” And just like that, you remembered that your fate was never entirely your own.
That day you locked yourself in your room. Not that it was so horrible, since it was practically an entire suite. But you couldn’t face your father at your usual training session. They were mostly for show now, since you knew the duties of a queen and the woman of the household like the back of your hand. You were born and bred for this marriage, but even so, you wished that you had more say in the matter.
And when the notice was received that the prince had requested your hand in marriage several weeks later, your mother offered comfort. You knew that she was married to your father in a similar fashion, and you believed that they had grown to genuinely love each other. But now she was sending you off to live the same way that she had to. “Be strong my love. Try to find what makes him kind. That is what I did.” You nodded as she pulled you in for a long hug. Then she went to find your father and make arrangements for your send off.
Your send off to a whole new world with a man whom you had never met before.
The plane ride felt like an eternity. And for an immortal, that took a lot. Thankfully, the Prince allowed you to bring a member of your staff whom you felt would make the transition easier. You turned to face your longest and oldest friend. Amren was turned as a young child after she wandered into your territory. She was orphaned when her family died of sickness and was looking through the surrounding area for shelter. Unfortunately, she was met by one of your subjects who had been looking for a meal. You immediately did what you could to make her feel at home. Only recently reaching your maturity at the time, you were young enough to be a friend and a care taker. She eventually offered to become one of your ladies. You told her that she could live in the estate with no need to work, but she was too grateful to be just another mouth to feed. Centuries later, she was still dedicated to you. She took your hand and squeezed it. It was her who offered to join you in your new life. “I will see if I can divulge anything from the staff. And I will alert you to anything off-putting if I hear it.” You smiled back at her with a nod. Your parents would not be joining you for the union, so Amren was the only familiar person that would be with you until the wedding. She had said a snide remark about this situation after you had gotten on board. “Shipping their daughter away without even meeting the man they are giving her to, that seems questionable.” You had told her that it was their duty to remain in the estate. But truthfully, it would have survived without them for a day or two. “That is what happened with my mother as well. The day comes for every daughter in our family to leave home and create a union for our kind. I am just glad that I have you here for mine.”
Your new surroundings were secluded, much like your old ones to keep the humans from wandering in often. But instead of the cold and dreary mountains, here there was an abundance of greenery. As you prepared to get off of the plane, you tried to put a genuinely happy look on your face. Amren linked her arm with your own. Her closeness was the best comfort you could get at this time. The door opened, and you expected some of the staff to greet you and take you to your new home. Instead, you saw the curious face of a young man. He was dressed in a well-tailored navy suit which was accessorized with a black rose on his chest pocket. His eyes widened when they met your own. A glint of something else flashed over them for a moment before he gave a small bow, “Prince Zhang Yixing of the Kharis Clan. I am honored to finally meet you Princess,” He then turned towards your companion, “and the lovely Amren. I hope that your flight went well.” He was handsome, of course he was handsome. The immortality also came with exquisite features which drew prey in. But for some reason, you saw softness in his features that made you feel less on edge. “The feeling is mutual my Prince.” He offered his arm and you accepted, releasing Amren’s in the process. She understood the workings of the royals, you were only being cordial. This man would soon be your husband anyways. There were two male staff who accompanied him as well. They each held an umbrella. The Prince took one from the dark-haired boy and instructed the blonde one to hold it for Amren. “The sun is very prominent here, I hope that the adjustment won’t be that much of a pain.” He opened the umbrella and held it over you, shielding you from the strong rays. Unlike what many stories like to say, sunlight doesn’t kill your kind. It only irritates them, leading to headaches and slight nausea if stood in for too long. You were grateful for this gesture, as well as the kindness he was showing toward your friend.
The walk back to the estate was full of The Prince giving you a tour of the grounds. It wasn’t that far from where the plane had landed, but it was enough of a walk to get used to the way that it felt when your body would brush against the Prince’s as you walked. There was something about him that you couldn’t quite put your finger on. But just being near him made you feel safe, and at peace. As you walked, he showed excitement for what was to come from becoming the ruler of his clan. You had asked him if he had any plans. When researching your future empire, you were intrigued to know his answer. “I hope that we can do something to keep the mortals away from our land. Any unnecessary death is not going to help us for when we eventually decide to live in a world where they know we exist.” You turned to see the passion in his face. “My men try to find the biggest predator animals in the area for our people to feed on. The animals that would usually cause the mortals harm.” His aspirations were admirable. Especially when some of the other clans refuse to drink anything other than human blood. “You expect us to live in harmony one day?” Your voice was quizzical, unsure if it was something you could see truly happen. “I hope that harmony is possible. They will find out we are here soon enough, and when that day comes, I hope to be more of a friend than a foe.”
His words left a mark on you. His idea was lovely, but you both knew how hard it would be to convince mortals that the people who depend on taking the lives of others could be a friend to them. The front steps drew closer as you made some friendly conversation. Even if it was a short walk, getting to know this man would make the wedding easier. He dismissed his staff and led you into the main foyer. There was a grand staircase on either side of a luxurious balcony. You had seen this design many times. But the floral carvings into the wood that lined the walls of the building seemed out of place. “That design, it is very peculiar.” Compared to the gothic era décor of your old home, this place seemed much more… alive. “The clan’s namesake decided that she wanted a home which didn’t remind her of her deadly state all the time. Grace and beauty, I suppose that is what she had in mind with this.” As he led you upstairs, he traced the outline of the design on the railing. His fingers moving delicately. You noticed that the house seemed to be filled with lots of decorations for the ceremony, but there didn’t seem to be a lot of staff in the halls. He took you down the hallway then turned to the right, leading to another corridor. At the very end of that hall, there were larger double doors. He opened the door, which led to a beautifully decorated room with a canopy bed. It was filled with different hues of purple and silver. You had a room similar to this back home, however it had a balcony which you could walk out onto which had a view of the mountains. “This is your room until you feel comfortable enough to move into one with me.” You turned to him looking a bit surprised. “You gave me my own room?” He gave a soft smile, “Of course, it is only right. I am sure you feel out of place and having somewhere to call your own might make it better.” You spent some time looking around and he admired you from the doorway. “What do you think?” You smiled widely, “It is wonderful! Thank you, Yixing.” That was the first time you had used his name to address him, and he found it very relieving.
His smile made you understand that he genuinely just wanted to make you feel comfortable. He needed a wife to take the throne, but he didn’t want to force you to become a wife immediately. “Princess, please do not be afraid to let me know if there is anything you desire. I know how this situation must feel. The workers and I will always be only a call away. For now, I will leave you to settle in.” Before leaving he turned to Amren, “and your room is three doors down to the left. I assumed you would want to remain close to your lady.” She gave a grateful smile, “Thank you, it really does mean a lot my Prince.” You reached out your arm to take his hand softly before he whisked away. “You truly didn’t have to do all of this. I appreciate your efforts. And please, you may as well call me Y/N. We needn’t the formalities anymore.” He gave a small squeeze, firm but gentle, “Alright Y/N. I will see you for the proceedings tonight.” The way he said your name seemed to sound as if it was meant to be said by him. There was such an odd familiarity, but you released his hand and let him leave to close the door behind him. With his absence came a sort of longing in your bones.
Amren turned to you with an odd look on her face. One that you related with mischievous thoughts from all of your years with her. “What is it?” You asked as you bent down to lift your luggage up. Many of your belongings were sent to the estate ahead of time so that you wouldn’t have to wait for them. Unpacking your favorite casual clothes and laying them out, you weren’t looking at her, only waiting for the response. “The Prince does seem very kind. He is also one of your most handsome suitors yet.” You scoffed. There had been others, but they were hardly suitors. The son of the stable keeper, the high lord from the United Kingdom who didn’t hold any royal positions but was charming enough for a small summer fling, the visitor who brought a dying child to your lands in hopes of saving his life. All of them had their own reasons for getting some bit of your heart. But it was never truly your heart to give. You had to agree that if you were to be bound to someone for eternity, Yixing wasn’t such a bad option. There were princes who had their fun trying to win your father’s approval just for the sake of gaining another place to scavenge for human victims to torment for their amusement. “He does seem genuine. And aren’t we all visions of perfection?” She gave a small giggle. “You know what I mean.” You weren’t sure if you should bring up the odd things that seemed to be happening to you when it came to your new fiancé.
After getting your things all situated, you helped Amren get settled in her own room. It was not the size of yours, but it was bigger than you expected for one of your ladies. She was very delighted. “Look at these silks! They are definitely some of the finest I have ever laid my eyes on.” She leaned over to survey the fabric, taking it into her hands, “My hands too!” You were happy that Amren seemed to like your new home. She was also provided her own bathroom with a decent sized bathtub. You searched for a blue embroidered suitcase and found it sitting near the wardrobe cabinet. A sheepish grin filled your face as you called to her. “Amren, I have a little surprise for you.” She wandered away from the fabric to meet you across the room. “Should I be scared?” You rolled your eyes. “Only if fashion is horrifying to you.” You opened the luggage to reveal several new outfits for her. “I thought that a new home could use some new clothes to go along with it. Of course, I won’t be offended if you don’t wear them, but I wanted to get you something special. For being my most loyal friend and family.” Her intake of breath was enough to let you know that she loved them. She pulled out a cashmere sweater from your favorite designer’s fall collection. “Y/N, you spoil me! Thank you!” She laid the item on the bed before squeezing you tightly. She almost had as much energy as when she was a newborn when she got excited. The sparkle in her eyes was beautiful. “It is the least that I could do. You always mention that you like the things of hers that I wear.” Being a part of high society also had its perks with the mortal world. This particular designer had been dating a very abusive man when you had stumbled upon her. You had your men take care of him and made sure that she lived her life to the fullest. Her designs were in a boutique in a small city before you found her, now they were on the runways of Milan. You always tried to help what humans that you could and turning them wasn’t the only way. You opened orphanages up in the area where Amren was from in hopes of preventing another child from being infected or killed looking for a place to stay. When she found out, she threw her arms around you and wept. She had accepted her fate, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t mourn her mortal life.
You looked at the clock on the wall and realized that it was time to get ready. Most of Yixing’s court would be welcoming you to the estate tonight. A party was being held in your honor, and you were supposed to meet the Prince in an hour. Amren’s eyes widened. “Let’s turn you in to the prettiest thing in the room my love.” A few moments later she was leading you back to your room and sitting you down in front of the mirror. The virus made its victims look naturally stunning, but some makeup and hair-dos added allure. Your hair was curled and braided to rest on your head with a small jeweled crown. It was the one reserved for occasions where status was important, but not where you needed to attend to royal duties. A red lip paired with a maroon gown that hugged your hips and spread out near your feet were what Amren decided would make you stand out. Many people think that your kind wear red all the time, in all honestly, most strayed away from the color of their food. Black peep toe stilettos adorned your feet. Looking in the mirror, you seemed almost as dangerous as you were. “I will meet you at the party. Till then, enjoy the Prince’s company.” Amren kissed your cheek as she sent you away.
When Yixing turned, he didn’t expect to be caught off guard by your beauty. “Shall we be off then?” You asked as he took your sight in. Even the scent of you was intoxicating. He lent his arm towards you and you wrapped yours around it. “You look lovely tonight Y/N.” You smiled to yourself before turning your head towards his. “The same can be said for you.” Yixing was wearing a charcoal suit with silver embroidery in the shape of swirls. He led you to what you could only assume was his office. A large mahogany desk sat in the center of the room with a velvet chair behind it. On the desk was a large black box which was also made of the same material. “I was hoping that you wouldn’t have a necklace to wear tonight.” He lowered his arm to take your hand and led you to the desk. “Were you now?” You said back amused and raised your free hand to your collar bone. He opened the box to reveal a silver necklace with a stunning black shimmering stone in the middle. “It is black goldstone, not the most precious, but I thought it was as breathtaking as the woman I bought it for.” The way that the sparkles reflected in the light made it resemble the night sky, miles away from human civilization, where the stars shined brightly for the creatures of the night. “It is gorgeous!” He lifted it from the case and gestured towards your neck, “May I?” You nodded and lowered your hand, leaving your collarbone free for the dazzling jewel to rest upon. You clasped it in your hand as you admired it some more. When you looked up, Yixing was doing the same to you.
There seemed to be something happening between you both which you had never felt before. “Y/N, I hope that I am not being so intrusive, but may I ask you something?” “Of course, anything.” Then he moved closer and it was like you felt an invisible string linking him to you. Making you crave more of him whenever he was near. “Do you feel like we have known each other much longer than we have? As if there is something between us that you cannot explain?” You moved closer, and placed your hand on his chest before looking up at his face, his eyes, his lips. “Yes, I know exactly what you mean.” He placed his hands on your sides, then he casually slid them lower and lower to your hips. The dress leaving little fabric in between your skin and his own. “I think there is a reason why I was drawn to your picture, your description. It is like I was supposed to pick you before I even knew that I would be taking the throne.” You tilted your head up. If your skin could flush, you would be red all over your chest. The closer you were the more your body took over for you. Thought seemed to drift away. You only heard of one thing that could cause such emotions like this in a short time. Some of your kind wait several lifetimes to find what you have found by pure chance. This was the first time that you were alone with him since you had gotten here. The first time that you had truly been able to focus solely on each other. Feeling his hands on you, you wanted him to stay there forever. You wanted him to wrap you up in him and never let you go. “Who would have thought that a princess from the Ambrogio clan would be my mate.”
Your mate. A mate that could have slipped away if the circumstances weren’t exactly as they were.

When Baekhyun first met Jongdae, he was a brat. Not in the way that Baekhyun was a brat, but instead in the way that made Baekhyun’s blood boil. He was so unlike Baekhyun, there was nothing he could truly see in Jongdae’s eyes as friend-worthy. So there Jongdae was, in pristine pressed clothing that took Baekhyun’s mother 20 minutes to wrestle him into, with a big grin on his face. The worst thing was that it was a kind smile, not one with hidden malice, not a cheeky or cocky one. But a smile any other child would give to a potential friend. But Baekhyun wasn’t looking for a potential friend in Jongdae. After all, why would he want to befriend the one he would be wedded to?

Why are arranged marriage au's so angsty?? I come from a culture where arranged marriages are the norm and often lead to very successful relationships. There's a big difference between an arranged marriage and a forced marriage and there are some writers on here who glorify the idea of a forced marriage. In my opinion arranged marriage au's should be awkward and fluffy, not angsty and sad but that's just me.

CHANGE: Chapter II
When the feud between EXO and Bangtan escalates beyond control Bangtan’s leader Kim Taehyung sees only one solution: a marriage of convenience between a member of Bangtan and a member of EXO. Park Jimin was not born into Bangtan but has slowly become an intrinsic part of Taehyung’s trusted inner circle.
And that is how Jimin finds himself married to you; EXO leader Xiumin’s little sister. You’re not like any other woman he’s ever met before; fierce, angry and talented with a switchblade. When you first meet Jimin you’re left angry and disappointed.
Except slowly, things change. And despite yourself, you find your heart warming to the idea of falling in love.
A/N: ENJOY!
WARNINGS: Language and smut
The next time you saw Park Jimin, it was on your wedding day.
As had been decided, the only thing you had any creative control over was the picking of the dress. Everything else was more or less a surprise to you.
Your parents were both dead - killed in a car-bombing orchestrated by Bangtan when you were just a child - and so Xiumin was going to walk you down the aisle.
As you waited in one of the back rooms of the church, you felt something akin to nerves sizzle through your veins. The truth was, this was close to the worst day of your life. You felt sick, and like something angry had taken home in the pit of your stomach.
“It’s going to be alright,” Xiumin tried to comfort you, “This is what’s best-” “For one second… For one fucking second, can you just be my brother?” You turned sharply to face him, tears welling in your eyes, “Stop saying how this is what’s best for EXO, and understand that I don’t want to do this. Just...Please.”
Xiumin’s dark eyes softened a shade at the desperation in your voice. Your brother was callous, sure, and at times he was impossible to deal with, but he was all you had.
“Alright.” He nodded gently and came towards you, placing a hand on your shoulder and pulling you in for a hug, “I’m sorry Y/N. I know how tough this is for you but… you’re going to do great. You always do great.”
The words melted over you slowly, and you let yourself settle in his embrace. You could count the times Xiumin had hugged you on one hand so you appreciated it.
He moved away from you and though you’d never dare mention it, you noticed a mistiness in his eyes, “I’m proud of you. I love you.” He’d only ever said that to you once, the day your parents died. It was all you’d needed, and you never asked for reassurance again.
“Thank you Xiumin.” You cleared your throat and wiped at the tears, “I love you too.” There was a moment of softness between the two of you and you found yourself smiling, despite the discomfort in your chest.
“I’m going to miss you.” He nodded, “Me too.”
A knock at the door broke the two of you out of your reverie, and you watched as it opened. Kim Taehyung was stood on the other side, as dark and intimidating as always.
“It’s time.” He told you both, eyes carefully assessing the situation, “Are you ready?”
“As I’ll ever be.”
“Come on, then.”
You and Xiumin shared a final look, as Taehyung led you to the back of the church silently. You could hear your heart thrumming in your ears, and you felt so completely out of your depth. You were so used to violence and anger and carnage. But this? This was something completely different to you.
Everybody in that church was going to be staring at you in a moment. Everybody was going to be judging you - and soon you would become Mrs Park Jimin.
“Good luck,” Taehyung muttered quietly, as he slipped through the stained glass double doors and took his seat at the front of the church.
And then, after a moment, the music started. You turned to Xiumin and he nodded.
“You’re going to do great,” He told you, “I promise.”
The double doors swung open, and you were revealed to the entire church - all four hundred guests. The left side was spilling over with members of EXO, and as Xiumin led you down the aisle, your eyes found Baekhyun’s.
He was smiling at you warmly, and that gave you some encouragement. You felt yourself relax slightly, before your gaze moved to connect with the grooms.
Jimin was standing at the front of the church, looking as completely dazzling as always. You hated how handsome he was - hated that despite everything you knew about him and his kind he still caused your heart to trip over itself.
He wasn’t smiling at you, but he didn’t necessarily look upset. His eyes were neutral, two dark pools of chocolate boring straight through you.
When you reached the front, and Xiumin handed you over to him, Jimin’s lips quirked up slightly at the side. What was he playing at? You refused to return the gesture, working on keeping your face as stony as you could. But you weren’t as good at keeping your emotions in check as Xiumin was, and you knew that Jimin could probably tell how nervous you were.
A few minutes into the service, you felt him squeeze your hand. You raised a brow and he nodded gently.
“You’re doing great,” He whispered to your surprise, “Just relax.”
You didn’t know why he was telling you that - and in any other circumstance you might have even been annoyed at him for assuming you needed encouragement - but at that particular moment you were grateful. Despite yourself, you felt the side of your mouth shoot up gently.
“Thanks.”
The rest of the service continued on, and eventually you could feel your nerves sizzling out. You hated yourself for it, but Jimin’s reassurance, and the fact that he was here, with you, kind of helped.
It didn’t change how you felt about him of course, but it made things a little easier.
When the words, “You may now kiss the bride,” were finally said, you felt a huge wave of relief crash over you. It was over.
Jimin smirked and pulled you towards him.
“Sorry about this,” He whispered, before pressing his mouth against yours in a hot kiss.
You’d only ever been kissed by a few men in your lifetime - most of them sloppy kisses behind bars, drunk or high. But this kiss was like electricity. You hated yourself for leaning into Jimin’s lean chest, but you felt yourself doing it almost unconsciously, enjoying every moment of his lips on yours.
He tugged a slender hand through your curls, and after a moment, when he pulled away, you felt yourself gasp for air a little bit. You knew you looked dazed, but you couldn’t help it.
That kiss had been ridiculous.
And he wasn’t sorry at all.
He smiled teasingly at the look on your face and bit his bottom lip, “Welcome to the family, Mrs Park.”
What the hell had you gotten yourself into? //
“Don’t pretend you didn’t like it.” You glared at your husband, “Shut up.” You hated the fact that you had to sit beside him, whether or not it was your stupid wedding reception. Everybody kept congratulating the two of you, and you forced a fake smile onto your face, pretending not to listen to Jimin’s stupid remarks.
“Just admit you enjoyed kissing me and I’ll shut up,” He told you after a moment, looking at you over the rim of his wine glass.
“My mother taught me not to lie,” You grinned sarcastically, “So no, I won’t admit anything.”
The truth was, of course, Jimin was right. But you couldn’t help that your body had responded to him. And you would never ever admit that to him.
“You know we’re going to spend the rest of our lives doing a lot more than kissing,” He raised a brow and chuckled slightly, “So you might as well start to enjoy it.”
The remainder of your wine was gone as you knocked it back quickly, feeling the warmth of the alcohol buzz it's way through your system.
“God. Don’t remind me.”
You stood abruptly, rolling your eyes at the smirk on Jimin’s face. He seemed to almost enjoy pissing you off.
“I’m going to go and dance.” You informed him sharply, “I’m tired of listening to you.” “Not without me you’re not,” He stood with you, smile widening at the glare you set on him, “Oh come on. We’re the bride and groom. I can’t leave my beautiful wife all alone to dance on her wedding day, right? What would the neighbours say?” You hated that he was trying so hard to make peace with you. That despite the fact that the two of you had been forced into this marriage, he seemed to want to make it work.
That was not what you wanted, and you’d made that clear to him on several different occasions. You wanted to remain angry. That was much safer.
“Whatever,” You grunted, making your way to the dancefloor and groaning when the song changed to something slow.
“This one’s for the bride and groom!” You knew the DJ was probably only trying to help, but at this very moment in time you wanted to claw his eyeballs out.
“C’mere,” Jimin whispered, grabbing your hand and pulling him towards you. He wrapped his arms around your waist, and begrudgingly you looped your own over his shoulders.
“Have you ever done this before?” He asked after a moment, noticing immediately how awkwardly you seemed to be moving with him.
You rolled your eyes, “Is it that obvious?” His answering chuckle confirmed your fears.
“Don’t worry about it. Just follow my lead.” You did as you were told, but couldn’t stop yourself from at least biting back something snarky.
“It’s not like slow dancing is at the top of my things to do,” You told him gruffly, “I have other important stuff that take up my time.” You wanted him to understand how different you were to most of the women in the mafia. Xiumin had assured you that he was aware; that he knew you were capable and strong. And yet, you felt like you needed to make the point yourself.
“Are you trying to intimidate me?” The smirk on his face annoyed you more than was humanly possible, “Y/N, I knew the kind of person you were when I said yes to marrying you, okay? You don’t have to try and prove your dominance to me.”
You licked your teeth and clicked your tongue, “Yah! That’s not what I’m doing…” “The angry glares, the swear words… the sarcasm. That’s all intended to make a point, right? I get it, you’re not going to just roll over and do my bidding. I would never want that kind of wife anyway.”
You raised a brow, “Really?” “Really. Contrary to popular belief, most men enjoy a woman with a personality,” He rolled his eyes, “And frankly, your surprise at that is insulting.” As you opened your mouth to bite back with something angry, you heard the clinking of glasses. Oh shit. You knew what that meant.
“They want us to kiss again,” Jimin smirked.
You wanted to wipe that stupid smile off his stupid (handsome) face.
“No.” “We have to give the people what they want,” He winked at you, “C’mon. It can’t be that terrible.”
You hated that despite your best intentions, Jimin seemed set on melting the ice around your heart. You hated that as you looked behind him, you watched a sea of people ‘oooh’ and ‘ahhh’ at the ‘lovely young couple.’ You hated this vulnerability, and you wanted it to stop.
“It is.” You groaned, as Jimin dipped his head towards you and stopped a breathe shy of your lips.
“Don’t lie, Y/N. You’re not very good at it.” And then he pressed his lips to yours, and despite the anger so clearly coursing through your veins hotly, you felt yourself lean into his warm touch. There was something about him - he was complicated. Funny but serious. Warm but cold. Distant but close. You weren’t sure what any of that meant… all you did know was that he kissed better than anybody else you’d ever had the misfortune of kissing.
When he pulled away, you knew that you looked dazed.
“That wasn’t so bad, huh?” He smirked, and you wanted to punch the look off his face.
“I’m going to have to burn my lips off with acid,” You retorted, rolling your eyes, “You’re gross. And that is the last time you ever kiss me again in public. Got it?” Jimin pulled away from you and nodded, “Of course. Anything for you… Sweetheart.”
You wanted to give him the finger, but you knew you couldn’t. Not here with everyone watching.
So you resigned yourself to moving away from him and trailing back to the wedding table. Jimin didn’t follow you, and you thanked your lucky stars for that. He was such an enigma to you - so different to every other mob man you had encountered.
And God he could kiss.
You blinked harshly against your thoughts and tried to knock yourself back onto your feet. One kiss from a relatively attractive man and suddenly you’re forgetting everything Bangtan stands for?
You steeled yourself against whatever warmth had settled into your chest and downed a glass of wine.
You refused to go down without a fight.
//
Seven glasses of wine later, and you and Jimin rolled into the ridiculously expensive hotel room EXO had shelled out an enormous amount of cash for.
“Anything for their golden girl, right?” Jimin muttered as he took in his surroundings.
You were drunk of course - the wine you’d consumed was coursing quite angrily through your blood - but you still heard him.
“Fuck off,” You grumbled, “Smartass.” Jimin turned to you and rose a blonde brow. You hated the smarmy look on his face already.
“How much did you have to drink? Jesus.” He pulled a face at the way you stumbled over to the King sized bed, “I’m guessing you can’t handle your drink.” You wanted to tell him to fuck off again, but the world was spinning so quickly you had to shut your eyes to stop yourself from puking. You were still in your wedding dress, but you couldn’t be bothered to move.
After a moment, you felt the bed shift.
“Seriously. Are you ok?” Your eyes blinked open blearily and you rolled over carefully, searching Jimin’s face. He was lying down next to you a comfortable distance away, but he was still too close for your liking.
“Get away.” You shoved at his shoulder and stuck your tongue out at him, “Leave me alone. This is my bed. My brother paid for it.”
“I am not sleeping anywhere else but this bed. So save it.”
Jimin’s eyes were playful, but you knew he was serious.
“No funny business,” You muttered, sitting up clumsily and reaching for the zipper of your dress. After a few misses, two warms hands came to still your palms.
“Let me,” Jimin whispered from behind you, his hands moving to pull the zipper down.
You felt a shiver crawl up your spine and you absolutely detested yourself for it.
What was happening to you? Park Jimin was your mortal enemy. What, just because he could kiss and he was kind of nice to you, suddenly you were fawning all over him like some lovesick teenager?
But you were drunk, and you didn’t care enough to stop yourself from reacting to his touch.
“There.”
He moved away from you and you felt a hot blush bloom across your collarbones. God. What was happening to you?
“Thanks,” You grumbled, despite yourself, standing up and moving to the bathroom blearily.
You shut the door and leaned against the surface, pressing a heart against your beating chest, and trying to calm yourself down.
You weren’t completely inexperienced in the bedroom - you’d indulged in your fair share of experimentation - but the truth was, when it came to the actual deed… You were a virgin. It wasn’t that you’d never had the opportunity to have sex… It was that you’d never wanted to.
And yet now… despite yourself… you were hot all over, just from the thought of Jimin wanting to fuck you.
Pathetic.
Your hands shook as you pushed your dress down your body and stepped out of the skirt, running a hand through your hair and groaning at the stupid frilly underwear you had been forced to wear.
So fucking embarrassing.
You stared at yourself in the mirror. White frilly french panties, and a transparent balcony bra. It wasn’t anything ridiculous - not at all like the horror stories you’d heard from some of the other girls in EXO who’d also been married off. - but you hated seeing yourself like that.
Weak… almost viriginal.
Your eyes moved to the door and you rolled your eyes when you spotted a white lace babydoll nightgown hanging off the back.
You assumed that was supposed to be what you wore to bed tonight?
Well. It was better than sleeping in this ridiculous underwear, you supposed. So without trying to think about it much more, you grabbed the nightgown and threw it over your head, cringing when it barely reached the top of your thighs.
This wasn’t you goddamn it.
After you gave yourself a moment to calm down, you opened the bathroom door and slipped out. When Jimin looked up at you, you felt your mouth dry instantly.
He’d taken off his suit, and was currently in just a pair of black briefs. They hugged his hips tightly, and you had to rip your eyes away from the muscular outline of his thighs.
Shit.
“Oh fuck.” In your drunken haze, whatever weak filter you’d had was gone, “You’re naked. Almost.” He smirked, “You too.” There was a charged moment between the two of you. You wondered if he was going to make a move, but he didn’t, instead turning back towards the bed and making his way underneath the plush covers.
Your pupils dilated, as you thought about those thighs wrapped around you.
Shit…
It had been so fucking long since you’d had the time to even think about men....
“I’m a virgin.” Jimin’s eyes moved to meet with yours. He quirked a brow.
“I’m not like… A complete virgin.” You corrected, and despite yourself, you felt an angry blush paint your cheeks, “But I’ve never… You know. I’ve never actually done it.” You cringed internally at how utterly childish you sounded.
“I know you probably think I’m not, because I try to come across so tough,” You were rambling now, but you couldn’t stop yourself, “But I am. Really. I’ve never really been in a position to lose it. Y’know.” Jimin’s face softened at your revelation, and you wanted to kick yourself for the butterflies that were gnawing so anxiously up the pit of your stomach. He shrugged.
“That’s alright. We don’t need to do anything tonight.” You stared at him carefully. You should agree with him, right? You barely knew him… And you were supposed to hate him. So, why were you suddenly so warm? Why did the thought of Jimin not want to touch you make you angry?
“I want to.” You answered thickly, “If you do.”
You hated this. All of it. It was far more vulnerable than anything you were comfortable with. If Jimin rejected you, you would be so fucking pissed off. At yourself mostly, for even putting yourself in this position to start with… But at him, too.
Because he’d flirted with you earlier. And kissed you.
He’d made you think that he wanted you.
And despite all the complications, you were pretty sure you wanted him too.
“Just sex. No feelings.” You added on, as clarification, “Please?”
At some point during your ramblings, Jimin had stood up, and now he was in front of you, eyes darker than the moon. He stared down at you, and you felt yourself tremble.
God, what had you been reduced to?
“No feelings. Got it.” And then his lips were on yours again. You groaned against him, not caring that it probably made you sound far needier than you wanted to be. Because damn it did he know how to kiss.
You felt the flames in your stomach being stoked to life, and soon Jimin was leading you towards the bed. He laid you down carefully, his lips moving towards your collarbone and sucking harshly at the skin.
“Wanna make you so wet babygirl.” The endearment came as a surprise to you… and so did the dirty talk. But you knew you liked it when you arched up into him. He smirked against your skin and pulled your nightgown off, eyes blooming with lust as your lingerie was revealed.
“For me?” He licked his plush lips, “Oh baby, you shouldn’t have.” “Shut up,” You growled, moving your hips towards him, “And help me out.” He chuckled wickedly, and helped you shimmy out of your underwear, “All in good time, princess.” The pet name should have annoyed you. Princess? But still, you whined, feeling yourself grow wetter at his words.
“C’mere.” And then he was moving down the length of your body, pressing hot, sloppy kisses wherever he could, and painting your skin the colour of indigo. You knew you would be mad at yourself in the morning for letting this happen, and for letting him mark you, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
And then, his head was between your legs and fuck you were gone.
Jesus. Nobody had ever gone down on you like that before.
“Jimin…” You moaned, feeling your head expand, and your body tremble under his touch.
He licked you like he was a man starved, “Yes baby?” He didn’t move away from you, vibrations causing you to arch your back further.
“Fuck, that feels good.”
It didn’t take much longer for you to finish, and when you did, it felt like stars were exploding behind your eyes.
“Shit,” You rasped, as you came down from your high, “That was good.” Jimin was beside you in a moment, eyes darker than anything you’d ever seen before. Obsidian black. You felt his touch on you like molasses sticking to your skin, and you groaned.
“Fuck me already, then.”
“Your wish is my command, princess.”
You rolled your eyes at the nickname but said nothing else, waiting as he pushed his boxers down and lined himself up with your entrance. His eyes softened for a moment.
“It might hurt,” You told you sincerely, “If you need me to stop, say. If you need me to slow down, say. Okay?” The genuine concern in his face threw you off.
“Fine.” You wiggled against him, “Now go.” And so he did. He pushed into you slowly, and you felt yourself gasp against him. He was right. It did hurt. But it wasn’t unbearable.
“Are you okay?” He whispered against your face, eyes searching your own carefully.
You nodded, “Yeah. You can move. Please.” He started thrusting into you slowly, and despite everything feeling too tight, you let him. It wasn’t terribly painful, but you knew you weren’t going to come like this. And yet….
The feeling of having Jimin so close to you was something indescribable. His eyes were locked on you as he fucked you, despite yourself, you used one hand to push some of his blonde hair out of his eyes, so you could see him better.
The gesture was soft and gentle, and Jimin slowed down, moving inside of you carefully.
“I’m not going to last much longer,” He grunted, and you nodded.
When he finished, you wrapped your arms around him, pulling him closer so that he could ride out his orgasm. You weren’t sure why you’d done it…
Or why you’d even felt the need to have sex with him in the first place.
But once he stilled inside you, you groaned.
“You’re suffocating me.” He pulled back, and your heart turned at the twinkle in his eyes.
“That’s for next time, sweetheart.” He pressed a kiss against your lips and pulled out carefully, wincing when you cringed, “Are you ok?” “As I can be.” There was a pause.
“It will be better next time.” “Here’s to hoping.” Another pause. This time, you moved to grab your nightgown and pull it over your head. Jimin cleaned himself up and offered you a tissue, which you took. Once you were ready, you climbed back into bed and turned away from him, suddenly angry and embarrassed with yourself by your behaviour.
Why had you let him in like that? You had promised yourself that you would only let yourself hate Park Jimin. And things had to stay that way.
So despite everything that had just happened, you steeled your heart against any warmth that was blooming towards your husband.
“Y/N? Is everything okay?”
You scooted a little further away from him, “Goodnight, Jimin.”
The final pause. This one longer and harsher.
“Goodnight, Y/N.” That night as you fell asleep, all you could think of was the fact that your husband, Park Jimin, was by far the most dangerous man you’d ever met.
Because when you were in the mafia, matters of the heart, was deadly.

Because that’s love
Pairing: Kim Junmyeon x Reader Genre: Angst, Arranged marriage!AU Word Count: 1.451 words Note: The photo’s from EXO’s website.
You grasp his shaking hands tenderly, trying to convey the comfort you want to give him but you know you can’t, and from time to time, you let out gentle i love you’s to try and quell the wracking sobs escaping him.
It’s unbearable. Seeing him break down like this in front of you puts a heavy weight on your chest, so heavy you find yourself unable to breathe normally.
He’s always so strong, your Junmyeon, but a soft, painful smile graces your lips at your instant correction — he was your Junmyeon, but not anymore.
Truthfully, you can’t stomach the guilt of being the reason why he’s crying right now and you find yourself belatedly realizing the steady stream of tears also escaping your own eyes.
Upon the realization of what’s really happening, you start to feel even heavier.
‘Breathe in, breathe out,’ you think to yourself, squeezing your eyes tighter to prevent more tears from falling.
He holds your hands tightly, leaning towards you and craving the comfort of contact. His sobs reach your ears and you let go of his hands.
Grasping his shoulders, you call out to him. “Myeon,” comes your choked out cry of his name.
“Junmyeon…” you say as you caress his left cheek with your palm. “Sweetie, please look at me.”
Breathing deeply, he gathers the courage to meet your gaze, but upon eye contact, he bursts out into sobs again.
Not able to fight back the hurt, you plead with him, “Junmyeon, please… please look at me baby.” But you can’t control your emotions anymore so you let out desperate pleas, wanting to see him and only him in what is sure to be your final moments with him as his lover.
“[Y/N]...” Junmyeon cries your name, not finding the strength to keep his feelings at bay.
Finally, he looks at you with tear-filled eyes full of despair and longing, telling you how much he doesn’t want to let go of you. And even with sorrow marring his features, he’s still the most beautiful being you’ve ever seen.
You try to be stronger, not just for yourself but for him as well.
“I love you so much, Junmyeon. I always will, but we knew this was going to happen,” sniffling, you look into his beautiful eyes.
“Even if we can’t be together, my heart will always be yours. No matter what happens, I’ll always be yours. Forever, and always.”
But Junmyeon shakes his head and refuses to acknowledge the situation. With sobs still coming from him, he tries to dissuade you.
“Don’t do this, [Y/N]. Don’t leave me, I love you,” he desperately begs and you’re not fast enough to stop the sob that escapes you.
Finally giving in, you close the distance and embrace him tightly, and he encloses you in his strong arms too, the arms that have always held you and gave you comfort and security.
Junmyeon buries his head on your neck and still crying, he continues. “I don’t care about my family, and I don’t care about her!”
“I will cut ties with all of them if I have to, all I want is to be with you,” he begs. “Please... please, please. Please don’t leave me.”
His words bring you back to your senses and you breathe a sigh of resignation as you make him release you from his embrace. With a sad smile, you hold him and tell him the truth he’s been trying to avoid.
“You can’t do that, Junmyeon. You love your family too much,” you shake your head. “You can’t do it, and I won’t let you.”
Gulping, you go on, “I love you, Myeon, I hope you understand how much I really do, and I love you enough to not make you choose.”
He looks at you with eyes glossed over with harsh truths.
“We’ve always known you were going to marry somebody else.” You sigh again, looking down. “We’ve always known, but we chose to love each other anyway. But I need you to know this, Junmyeon. I don’t regret anything.”
His lower lip trembles and he looks at you as if to convey his love for you.
“I don’t regret anything, [Y/N],” he says earnestly, his tears finally slowing and he breathes deeply, licking his chapped lips. “I swore to you I would fight for you.”
You hold his hands and caress his knuckles, “And you fought for me, Junmyeon,” you say with a small smile. “You always did.”
His hands cup your cheeks ever so gently, so full of love and care that you almost start crying again. He tilts your head slightly and plants a full kiss on your lips.
You savor the contact and put the feel of him to your heart. You will miss him.
Immensely.
You back up from him making him hang his head low, and in a quiet voice, he whispers, “I’ll always love you, [Y/N].”
Before you make any foolish decisions, you stand up from his bed and walk towards the door. A few steps in, you stop, taking everything in.
Your heart hurts so bad that you almost turn around to run back to his arms, but you steel yourself, walking out of his room before you do anything that will make you hate yourself. Before you hurt Junmyeon even more than he already is.
——
Looking at the mirror, you smooth your hands down the front of the dress you’re wearing, admiring the beauty of it.
The stylist did a great job, you realize. When you look at your face, you don’t find any trace of the heaviness that stayed with you through all those passing months, but when you glance up at your eyes, you almost flinch at the lack of life.
Your thoughts are interrupted by a slight knock on the door.
“Miss [Y/N],” the person at the other side says as he open the door. “You’re wanted outside. The program will start in fifteen minutes.”
Turning to look at him, you simply put up a courteous smile and nod in agreement.
When you go to the main hall, you notice everyone has settled down, and looking around, you see the pianist wave over to call for you.
He runs down a few things and reminds you of what you need to remember. Getting the signal from the coordinator, you take your position at the front, somewhere to the side.
You hear the doors open and when you glance up, all thoughts instantly leave your mind. You find it harder to breathe and you almost miss your cue if not for the pianist’s brief look your way.
A soft melody flows through the place, the keys of the instrument doing a marvelous job at spreading a haze in the hall. Words leave your mouth and you blend seamlessly with the music to sing for the entourage.
It’s almost like time froze over when you meet his eyes. A few months went by without the two of you seeing each other but a mere lock of your gazes makes it seem like you saw each other only yesterday.
He looks the same, still the strongest, most beautiful, most gentle and caring person you’ve ever laid your eyes on. He looks at you, and you swear you’re absolute that he still feels the same for you.
Follow his steps to the front, you briefly look away from him when the song changes to signal the entry of the last person.
She looks perfect.
Everything about her seems perfect from the way the dress hugs her body to how her smile seems to light up her whole face.
You heart throbs with pain. It hurts you so much just to look at her, but you continue on with the song. Not finding the strength to look at her, you avert your eyes to look somewhere else, and just as the song nears the end, you find him already looking at you.
He’s looking at you.
He’s looking at you instead of her, and in that moment, you tell him everything with your eyes.
How much you love him, how much you miss him.
How he’s the only one you will ever love.
You tell him everything with the song that just so happened to be what he first sang to you that one snowy night when he asked you to be his partner.
“I’ll search the universe Until I can find you again I won’t let go, even the smallest memories Memories engraved in the seasons They come back so I will find you Because that’s love Because it’s love.”
I love you, Kim Junmyeon.

The Only Choice
Summary: As the son of the opposition, you had been raised to hate Kim Jongdae. You had never expected to actually marry him one day though.
Pairing: Kim Jongdae x reader
Genre: arranged marriage au / enemies to lovers au
A/N: thank you @trishmarieco for requesting this! I admittedly had a few ideas for how this could go, and in the end this is the idea that won. I’m hopeful you enjoy it!
Word count: 6553
Your marriage was the event of the year. Not only was it glamorous in every way, boasting a large A-list of affluent attendees and the most expensive designer labelled clothing, you had all the press lined up just trying to catch a glimpse of what they could write or snap photos of that would end up on the front page of every newspaper and magazine cover tomorrow morning. Everything had gone so well, from the I do’s to the reception speeches. Everyone who was anyone would have tales to share about this wedding for weeks on end. You were the faces of the merger between two super companies that shook the entire nation by storm.
By morning, everyone would be talking positively about how your parents had gained the upper hand by joining forces with Kim Industries. There would be no opposition worth fighting now, as they had single-handedly taken that away with your union to the youngest Kim son, Jongdae. Everything was so picture perfect that no one would be talking about how long at war your family had been with the Kim’s anymore. Instead of the headlines wondering who would take out the top spot for the most innovative design of the year, they would now proclaim how much money this marriage has accumulated for both families so far, and how stocks will continue to soar.
In theory, this was the best move for everyone. Even you had to admit it was a well-played card no one had ever considered until three months ago. But your life wasn’t theory based. You had to live it, and well, the last person you wanted to be married to was Kim Jongdae.
From when you were born until that fateful moment three months ago, the only thing you had heard from your father was how much he hated the CEO of Kim Industries. You had grown up with the belief their family was your rival in every way, and you had been a pawn in continuing this trend, competing against Jongdae your entire life. You went to the same schools, you studied at the same university upon graduation, and you shared similar skills in sport. You were on par with him in every way, and now he was your husband. Any other girl would kill for your spot with the handsome man. You half hoped they would just so you could escape this newly made hell. There was no way you were a perfect match for Jongdae and even he had voiced multiple times now that you would never be his first choice as a wife. Yet just as you had, he had put on the best performance of his life at your side tonight. Actually, since the beginning of this scheme, Jongdae had done his part exceptionally well in fooling the nation that you had both fallen madly in love with each other, enabling your parents to push their decades of a feud aside to support your blossoming love. They would merge the companies together instead of battling it out in every aspect. The media had eaten it up and even those in the circles around you had stopped being suspicious of this being a plan all along. It was so well executed that had you not been aware of how fake and awkward the intimacy between you was all along, you would believe that in the pictures snapped of you on all your outlandishly public dates were coming from real passion and not perfect acting.
How long should you both have to act though? The elders in this scheme had gotten what they wanted. The attention of the nation and complete control of the industry. Money would pile up so much that you wouldn’t know what to do with it. You didn’t care for money, for fame, for stability in business anymore though. You held the same dream as most people – to marry for love, to raise children that bore yours and your husband’s resemblance and live the rest of your time on Earth happy and fulfilled by what you could achieve as a person. The scheme had robbed you of such pleasures. The idea of having children with Jongdae was laughable, considering how being physically close to him made you tense and irritable. You might now be his wife, but there was no inclination for you to consummate this marriage. Your parents had sold you off to the highest bidder, however, they had no say on what you did or didn’t do with your womb. You would draw the line there indefinitely.
Besides, Jongdae seemed to share the same thought process. “Ah good, this suite has two bedrooms. I’ll take the master and you have the spare. There’s no way I’m sharing with you.”
“Why do you get the master?” you asked, heading towards the door of the largest room in the plush hotel suite you had just arrived at. Jongdae blocked you from entering. “Move, today has been the most stressful and exhausting day of my life and I want to rest.”
“So do I, and I said I would have this room first,” he mentioned pettily, folding his arms firmly across his chest.
“You’re an adult, there is no such thing as calling shotgun between respectable human beings.” You rolled your eyes. “Ah, I made a mistake, where would I find anything worthy of respect within you?”
“I’ve had more than enough of you today, wife.”
“Don’t insult me with that title,” you spat and Jongdae smirked. “We are merely the receipt of a transaction made by our parents. There’s no need to believe in anything we uttered today.”
“At least we can agree there,” Jongdae said and then smiled firmly. “But because you took my last name, and this hotel belongs to my family, you’ll just have to toddle on off that way to the other bedroom.”
Before you could refute anything, Jongdae was firmly enclosed behind the door of the bedroom, locking it for effect. You groaned and stomped over to the spare room, and threw yourself down on the bed in frustration.
Just how on earth could you get used to being married to your enemy?
You blinked several times, trying to decipher what your father had just said to you. He had called you into his office, almost bouncing off the walls with excitement. He was always like this when something big was happening at work and you had been waiting in anticipation for what he had to say. As someone working your way up the ranks within the company your father owned on your own merits, you had a great deal of interest in how things were run. One day it would be yours to oversee, after all.
But what he had just spoken of had you seriously reconsidering everything you had been working towards. “What did you just say?”
“Kim Industries and our company will become one in just over three month’s time. And you will be the reason we can do so!” he told you again, smiling generously.
“H-how? I’m only a mere member of staff here-”
“Y/N, you know you’re expected for greater things than that office job, right? You are barely tolerated by the other staff there because they don’t want to get fired if they upset you. It’s time for you to play within the big leagues where you belong. And I’ve found you the best partner to do so.”
The information he had given you about your role stung, but you were too confused by what your father was talking about to really allow it to settle within your mind. “W-who?”
“Kim Jongdae, of course.” Your father rounded his large oak desk and came over to the plush chair across from where you sat. He grinned again. It was unfathomable; you had only ever seen this man scowl in disgust at mentioning such a name. Had you stepped into another universe when you came into this room? Or perhaps you had fallen ill. They were much more plausible options than the spectacle before you.
“Dad, are you feeling well?” you asked weakly and he chuckled.
“Never been better, baby girl! Why hadn’t I thought of this earlier when we started looking at suitors for you, I’m not sure. But I’m glad we have now! This is perfect.”
“Suitors? For me?” Your mind was reeling. You were a smart woman, and your brain was already lining up his words effortlessly inside your brain. But you wanted to refuse them immensely. This was your sworn enemy he was talking of! It all sounded nonsensical and your head began to pound with the effort.
“You can’t expect to remain single for the rest of your life. You knew your mother and I were looking at marriage for you this year. And now we’ll have one.”
“Dad,” you said weakly, your eyes wide with fear. “Can you hear yourself? You just said Kim Jongdae is a perfect match for me. We’ve hated each other since kindergarten. You were the happiest person on the planet when I accidentally lobbied a tennis ball right into his face and he sported a bruised eye for two weeks. Surely, you’ve gone mad.”
“Maybe I have, but there’s no better acquisition for this company than Kim Industries.”
“So you’ll sell me off to the highest buyer, is that what this is?!”
“Y/N, can’t you see the good in this?! Business wise this is the best thing that could happen to us. Your life would be set for the rest of your days!”
“My life was already set. And what about what I want? I don’t want to marry Jongdae. Heck, I’d rather marry a monkey before I marry him!”
“From what I read about him before, he’s actually a monkey in the zodiac sign, so maybe you can marry both.”
“This isn’t time for joking around,” you huffed and the smile faltered from your father’s face. Instead, it was replaced by a look you knew all too well, his business face. You shook your head incredulously. “I won’t marry him. Everyone knows how much we hate the Kim’s. Don’t you think the reporters will see right through this scheme of yours? And it is so unlikely that your opposition would even agree-”
“We’ve been in discussions all week long about it. For the first time in thirty-seven years, we actually agreed on something. Isn’t it wonderful?”
“Nightmarish,” you corrected.
“Y/N, I know you feel vindicated. I am sure you want to fight this completely. But the adults have agreed here and you will be married with or without your say in it. I must say, it would be far easier for you to just go along with the plan. Refusing this will only make you miserable.”
You stared at the man you had believed to be fair and honest your entire life. Whilst he was being honest with you right now about what he wanted, you felt as if you didn’t know your father at all anymore.
Despite your constant refusal, plans were made and expectations were high of your first performance. You had always been a filial daughter and your public image was a positive one. If you played up now, there would be a lot of damage to your career. More than you’d like to endure. Your goals as a businesswoman relied on your reputation to remain intact.
Even if everything surrounding you was putting you to the greatest test yet.
“Do you honestly believe anyone is going to see this as fact?” you scoffed as your mother flitted around you, smoothing out your outfit. You rolled your eyes at her efforts, soon swatting her away. The buzzing in your head was more than enough to deal with, let alone her hovering. “Everyone in this nation knows Jongdae and I are rivals. No one will believe we are in love.”
“On this first outing together, of course not sweetie,” your mother agreed, smiling at you through the reflection of the mirror. “It will spark curiosity for what you are both doing together though, and that’s what we need. For people to show interest.”
“This all seems ridiculous, why can’t you just merge the companies without needing a marriage to do so?!”
“Enemies don’t just join hands without a sacrifice in between,” the older woman said with a sigh, her eyes for the first time showing signs of sympathy. Towards the daughter she had raised so lovingly to be bold and courageous. The emotions dispersed quickly and you could see now that she viewed you as a necessary evil for the greater good.
You still couldn’t accept this was what you needed to do with your life.
“Well, are you ready for the next two hours of being completely sickened to your stomach?” Jongdae greeted with a forced smile and you swallowed roughly as he sat down at the table in the middle of the bustling restaurant. You had hoped for something more natural for your first date, but the longer you sat across from Jongdae in such a public setting, you realised it was a good idea. That way, you could both sabotage this plan from going any further.
“In your company, anything is possible.”
“I’m surprised you turned up, I heard you were throwing the biggest toddler tantrum over this,” he mused as he picked up the menu casually, and you rolled your eyes dramatically. “What did Daddy promise you today? A new pony? A shopping spree? A trip to Paris?”
“This is why I really didn’t want to sit here tonight. You have no idea about what excites me. Further, I wasn’t bribed to come here, I know that new sports car out there though was the prize for you turning up,” you mentioned sweetly and Jongdae grunted, not denying your claim either. For a moment, you both focused on perusing the menu and ordering with smiles on your faces when the server came over to your table.
Once your meals were in front of you both, you looked quickly over at Jongdae as he cut his steak into small bite-sized portions. It irked you that he had chosen the same meal as you had. Taking a deep breath, you squared your shoulders. “Want to break free?”
“Why? The food here is delicious,” he said, his hands moving too quickly for you to keep up. The plate that was in front of you that you had barely touched was soon whisked away and replaced with his one, the cut steak now mocking you much like his gaze was. Jongdae smiled in pleasure. “Look, I even helped you and your juvenile self out by cutting it nice and small. Try not to choke on my efforts.”
You could think of many things to choke and your eyes narrowed on his neck for a split second. What kind of game was he playing at? Looking around yourself, you became aware of the further attention your table now held, the women at a table nearby all swooning at how Jongdae had cut up your meat for you. It irked you greatly; you didn’t need help with such a thing. Your hands that had fallen to your lap when he moved suddenly before now clenched up in fists.
“So you have no interest in stopping this ludicrous plan. You actually want to marry me?”
Jongdae’s gaze snapped to yours. “Don’t flatter yourself.”
“So we can agree neither of us wants this. So, why don’t we-”
“All the same, my goal isn’t our parents,” he mentioned airily as he cut his steak neatly. He smiled down at his efforts. “It’s to see just how far I can push you.”
“What?”
“I don’t need to worry about the wedding, Y/N. We won’t make it that far because you find the idea of being near me so impossible to endure. I am rather relaxed about this all.”
“You’re bluffing,” you stated and Jongdae arched an eyebrow at you. You blinked a couple of times. “Are you challenging me?”
“Why would I need to? You won’t cope with any of this. You’re barely eating a meal with me. The press will need more than that; they’ll need physical interaction and adoration from us both. You cannot act in my presence so how will you even stand a chance, hm?”
“Are you done yet?” You folded your arms across your chest and smirked. Jongdae shrugged as he continued to eat. “Your lack of faith in my abilities is truly tragic.”
“Says the one who can’t even share a simple meal with me without fussing,” he pointed out and you glanced down at the food you hadn’t touched yet. You speared a piece of the meat he had cut for you and smiled.
You wouldn’t allow him to gloat for long. It would be him running to his father to cancel the wedding first.
Over the next month, you met with Jongdae often. You had been on a variety of dates, each one more intense than the previous one. When Jongdae had first grabbed your hand as you strolled in a park together, you had to resist the knee-jerk reaction to shove him off for touching you without permission to do so. On the next date, it was you pushing his boundaries by snuggling into his side as you watched the ballet. He had taken it too far on the last date by pecking your hand as he dropped you off at work after sharing sushi for lunch. It left you fuming and you were determined to end him today. You couldn’t take any more of being in his company.
And the longer your museum date progressed, the further convinced you were to end this fake relationship. His smarminess had reached an all-time high and every gentle touch along the small of your back grated you further. When you got back into his car, you wound down your window and glanced out irritably. “You’re feisty today, Y/N.”
“Wouldn’t you be too if you were stuck with the most obnoxious person on Earth?” you muttered and Jongdae chuckled.
“Well, do I seem feisty to you? Since the same could be said about you.”
You spotted a familiar sighting from what you had gotten used to on these dates and smiled to yourself, your idea would finally come into fruition today. Turning to Jongdae, you grabbed at his face hurriedly. He jerked back at your advance “What are you doing?!”
“Are you afraid?” you wondered, knowing you had the most opportune angle for a perfect photo. Leaning in so close that your lips were almost flush with his, you tilted your head to the side. With you up this close, Jongdae froze. You smirked triumphantly. “Seems like you are.”
“Are you attempting to kiss me right now? Because you’ve missed my actual lips.”
“I don’t need to kiss you for this to be snapped as one.”
Jongdae’s eyes were dark when you pulled back and sat in your seat with ease. He rushed to wind up the window before continuing. “Was that meant to scare me off?”
“I’m over this game with you, let’s just give up.”
“You just gave the press more than we ever have. It was you who leaned over and fake kissed me. I’m impressed; you’ve clearly wasted so many years watching all those silly dramas on TV to think of pretending to kiss someone.”
“I guess I have put you in a bind, Kim Jongdae,” you agreed, still content with your decision. He had been the one pointing to various sculptures and paintings proclaiming they all looked better than you did. He had even joked about marrying a plump statue over you since you lacked in the chest department. With how much he wanted to escape you, he sure hadn’t done anything about it yet. You had seen the fear in his dark gaze though, and it made you feel at ease. He would end this tonight with his parents.
Instead, he rang to plan your next date. You blinked. “Our what?”
“Did you really think I would be put out, Y/N? You surprised me, I’ll give you that.”
“You don’t want to marry me, Jongdae!”
“You’re not my first choice for a wife, you’re right.”
“So then end it.”
“And be the one who has to deal with both our parents? No thanks.”
You groaned unattractively. “You coward.”
“At least if I was to ever think of using kissing as a publicity stunt, I’d go through with the actual thing.”
“Don’t you dare think of doing such a thing!” you hissed and his hearty laughter filled the receiver. You hung up on him, frustrated that he was holding out just to see you crumble.
Dates continued in the same masochistic manner, both not wanting to be at the other’s side but unable to not be there either. Jongdae hadn’t kissed you, thank goodness, but he had definitely increased his skinship and it was making you very uncomfortable. Your skin would burn from where he held you and you constantly felt on edge whenever you were with him, wondering what he’d do next. You had been so confident with the fake kiss scene in the car, but it had gotten you nowhere. You were already in your final fitting for your custom made wedding dress and a cocktail dress for the reception. Everything you tried to stop seemed to roll ahead with everyone not listening to you. Eventually, you were left standing in a dress that was far too beautiful for such an event. Something as gorgeous as this should only be worn when you could walk down the aisle to someone you actually loved.
“Oh the groom is here!” the designer crooned and tried to usher you behind the large velvet curtain so your dress would be unseen to him. You rushed behind there, panting heavily as you dropped the yards of gorgeous fabric back down so you could balance yourself. Then you frowned. Why had you done such a thing? The jinx of seeing the dress before the wedding might work in your favour. You went to move out again but flinched when someone joined you behind the curtain instead.
“What are you doing?!” you whispered sternly and Jongdae merely eyed you from head to toe. You blushed, not understanding why he was paying so much attention to you right now. A small part of you hoped he liked what he saw. You squashed the mindless thought immediately.
“Don’t stress, I’m only meant to not see the dress if we’re hoping for a positive union, right? I thought of all people you would have stood proudly before me to put as many omens on this gorgeous gown as you could.”
You couldn’t help but bite your lip when he used the word gorgeous. Was your mind weak today because of the magical feeling of being in such a dress? Clearing your throat, you placed your hands on your waist. “All the same, I find it hard enough to be in this dress, let alone be with you whilst I’m in it.”
“Call it a rehearsal.” Jongdae continued to look at the details intently. “You’ll have to do the real thing very soon.”
“Don’t remind me.”
He smirked when his gaze finally lifted up to your face. “We need to rehearse a lot of things for this to be the best performance of our life, right?”
“Because we’re totally going through with this,” you refuted weakly and Jongdae chuckled.
“You look every part of a blushing bride. I think you’re ready to marry me more than you admit.”
“Honestly,” you said dryly and turned away from the mischief within his gaze.
This was your first mistake. Before you realised it, his arms had slipped through yours still poised on your hips and you snapped your face towards his right as his lips found yours. Your eyes grew wide and you didn’t know what to do for a moment.
Jongdae pulled away and licked at his lips. “There, we even practised that.”
“You had no need to kiss me! We’re not in public at all and you have zero permission to do such a thing to me!”
“What about at our wedding?” he wondered, his gaze lingering over the detailed bodice of the dress. “Should I just kiss you on the cheek and call it a day?”
“If we get married.”
Jongdae sighed. “When.”
And it really had happened. Whether you wanted to admit it or not, you both ran out of time and excuses. You had tried to run away pathetically the night before the wedding, yet you were there bright and early for your salon appointment. Somehow you had lost your voice that you had been so loudly using in the beginning of this scheme. Now, you just sat there and did everything that was asked of you.
And when Jongdae was signalled to kiss you, it felt like it went on forever. With your eyes closed, and focusing just on kissing him back, you felt the build up in the back of your throat. Every sensation in your body was awakened with the kiss and it took you immense effort not to ball your hands up in fists as you locked lips with Jongdae for too long. When he pulled away and smiled at you generously, you were stunned. He looked so happy to finally have you as his wife and for a moment you almost believed he truly felt that way.
Almost.
Surprisingly, it wasn’t that hard to get used to living with your husband. Maybe it was because your newlywed home that your parents had organised was just so large that you didn’t have much reason to cross paths. You had your own chambers and he had his. Of course, you couldn’t avoid him most days. After all, there were endless interviews, events, and work to do. But at least when at home, you could relax a little bit.
Most of the time.
“Eat with me.”
You looked up from your computer and rolled your eyes, going back to the project you were in charge of. Although you weren’t happy with how you had gotten to this point in your career, having more of a voice in the workplace actually fulfilled you more than you had expected. You really liked going to work these days.
“Y/N,” he whined and you continued to ignore him. Jongdae stepped over to your desk and sighed heavily. “I don’t want to eat another meal alone.”
“So eat with one of the in-house helpers.”
“I’ve been doing that for two weeks now!”
You smiled. “Then you’re not eating alone. They are people, just like you and I.”
“They have no idea about the new spring collection launch I’m working on. You do.”
“So you don’t want to eat with me, you want to pick my brain,” you concluded, finally looking up from your computer. You bridged your fingers together on your desk and smiled again. “Oh dear, what to do? I have no interest in sharing my plans with you to steal.”
“Why would I steal something we’re both working on?”
He had you there and you groaned. Glancing down at the proposal again, you relented. You had questions for him yourself that you could get to over dinner.
And this trend continued. Most nights you shared dinner whilst discussing plans and changes that were needed for your first project to run smoothly. You had to admit, majoring from the same degree in business administration meant you did have a balanced work ethic together. It became more evident to you when you were at work, seeking him out after meetings to discuss the happenings together. Everyone surrounding you claimed your marital harmony at home had to be the spark behind this amazing collaboration.
You just knew how his mind worked in a business setting and yours complimented his. That was all.
But you had to admit, some days it felt like the lines were blurring. You would smile at him without any forced nature behind it, and when one of his projects took a major production stumble, you had genuinely been supportive for Jongdae. He had worked so hard and you knew how important it was to him to succeed.
When the launch was finally released and sold out within a day, you had rushed into his office, positively beaming. “We did it!”
“It’s all sold out, already?!” he asked excitedly and you nodded earnestly, Jongdae rounding his table so fast and hugging you tightly. You clung to him for a moment, your elation clouding your mind. And when you finally realised where you were, you didn’t get much chance to pull away, Jongdae’s mouth crashing down on yours.
You could have pushed him off, reminding him that this was a marriage of convenience. But the spark of arousal was instantaneous and you leaned into the heated embrace, Jongdae spinning you around and pressing you up against his desk as his lips hungrily explored your neck, his hand slipping down your body and hiking one of your legs up around him. You moaned in pleasure and then a knock on the door broke the spell immediately.
You stared back at Jongdae, wondering just how such an embrace had occurred between you. And why it didn’t feel as bad as you had thought it always would.
You were on edge with each other respectively for a week after the office incident and your mind wouldn’t stop taking you back to that moment in time frequently. Why had he kissed you? His grip on your body felt like he wanted to have you. Yet you were someone he had always claimed he’d never crave in that way. You were so confused that you went into his study after work, too wound up and needing answers.
“Y/N,” he said tenderly and you blinked, wondering why your name sounded so good falling from his lips. He smiled weakly. “Are you okay?”
“No, I’m not.”
“Oh.” Jongdae nodded softly and closed the lid on his laptop. “What’s wrong?”
“Why did you kiss me last week? Why did you have to take me in your arms like that and, and…” you trailed off, feeling your cheeks grow hot. “We don’t have that kind of relationship. We hate each other.”
Jongdae was silent for a moment, staring at nothing in particular. You were irked by his lack of a response until he gazed back at you. The power within his umber eyes almost made you lose your footing. “I don’t hate you.”
“What?”
“I’ve never hated you,” he mentioned and you gaped at your husband.
“Yes, we’ve always hated each other for as long as I can remember.”
“No, you hated me. You’ve always hated me. I never understood why.”
You shook your head slowly. “Because our families are rivals.”
“Is that it? I can’t hate someone because my parents are competitive towards their opposition.”
“You can too; you were competitive towards everything I did!”
Jongdae nodded. “Some things yeah, because you rubbed me the wrong way. But never because I hated you. Don’t confuse competitive with hatred, it’s two very different emotions.”
You looked around the room, trying to decipher what he was planning now. There had to be a catch, he was never this honest with you outside of work. Was there a hidden camera somewhere? Recording you so he could catch something to hold over you in the future? You were decidedly cautious but listened to his words all the same.
“Look at you, even now you’re uncomfortable with me.”
“Can you blame me? We went from being enemies to a married couple who now share a department in the office. I don’t know what to think of you.”
“Without what your parents have influenced you to do, what do you think of me?” You blinked rapidly. Jongdae sighed heavily. “Have you ever once thought of me as someone with the same goals as you? As someone who matches you as opposed to being someone you need to outdo?”
You didn’t answer, your mind racing to figure out what he meant.
Jongdae groaned. “I have. I noticed your ambitions. I realised how level-headed you are in a situation of crisis. You’re intelligent. You treat everyone as equals, apart from me, of course. You have compassion for bettering this world we live in. It touches me knowing you’re such an amazing person.”
“I made you think all those things?” you asked and he nodded. You didn’t buy it entirely. “Then why did you always tease me? Why did you make things harder for me every step along the way?”
“You wouldn’t allow me to be anything but your rival, so I admit, I played the role well. I told you I was excellent at acting, you just never wanted to believe me.”
“So you’ve been actively seeking out my company and not because you want to annoy me?” Jongdae nodded again. You shook your head. “Unbelievable.”
“Can I tell you my biggest secret yet?” he asked and you eyed him warily. He gestured to the chair you held the back of for support. “You might want to sit down.”
“This doesn’t sound safe.”
Jongdae leaned back in his own seat and took a steadying breath. “It wasn’t our parents.”
“What wasn’t our parents?” He raised an eyebrow at you and your eyes widened. “This whole thing?!”
“I’ll admit I didn’t want to marry you in the beginning. When I realised just how talented you were with business strategies during university, I knew I wanted to work with you. I was certain we could create something amazing together. When I loosely mentioned it to my Father, he laughed in my face. That your parents wouldn’t dream of letting you work with me and that he wouldn’t allow me to approach you either. There was too much of a risk if we simply combined our talents together.”
You nodded slowly, agreeing that despite your differences, you had a formidable balance in the workplace that had led to great success already. Your mind wandered back to the passionate moment in his office last week and you narrowed your gaze on his. “Then how did we end up like this?”
“In every transaction weighed with a lot of risks, giving the opponent something worthy to hold onto in case it sours is the best option, don’t you agree? You cannot have something without giving back just as much.”
“That is usual etiquette,” you mentioned and then sighed. “If your father had me as his daughter in law, my Dad couldn’t act rash and overtake your company.”
“Exactly, so I suggested it to him in a way that made him unable to refute it. And by the time it was murmured into your father’s ears, he felt as if he had come up with the idea himself. Our parents agreed with it and thus, everything else you already know about.”
You raised your hand in objection. “Wait, you got a brand new car. Why should I believe you actually wanted to marry me?”
“I had to make it seem like I didn’t actually want to marry you. I needed them to think I was against it in every way possible but for the sake of good business I would be bribed.”
“You played your own parents?” you uttered and Jongdae grimaced.
“It wasn’t that cruel. Besides, they didn’t want to listen to your objections and forced you into this. I figure they are just as guilty as I am for imposing this on you.”
“I just… this is all so much to take on,” you admitted and Jongdae smiled weakly. You then stared at him. “Wait, I’m confused. You said you didn’t want to marry me in the beginning, but then you actually did want to marry me. You claimed I wasn’t your first choice every time I argued with you. Who is your first choice? Why would you go this far just for harmony in making more money? We’re rich enough not to have joined as business partners, Jongdae.”
He didn’t answer, rubbing at his neck awkwardly instead. Your eyebrows shot up and you leaned forward in your seat. “You wanted to marry me?!”
“Well, did you not hear all the things I complimented you over?” he answered meekly, diverting his gaze. “I didn’t have a first choice. You were my only choice.”
“I was what?”
“I didn’t want to marry anyone else. Okay so I wasn’t completely sure from the beginning, but as we started dating and you kept trying to outdo me, I found you really adorable. I didn’t want to end it. And then when I saw you in your dress…” He smiled to himself and you were certain he was revisiting the day behind the velvet curtain in the dressmaker’s studio. “I knew then.”
“Knew what?”
“That I loved you,” he confessed. “That I had loved you for some time too.”
“You really mean that?” you questioned, feeling yourself grow anxious. “I’m asking you if you honestly believe you love me.”
“Being your husband is something I’m happy to be. I love you, Y/N.”
You shifted across to Jongdae faster than your mind was working and kissed him passionately, surprising you both. He pulled you onto his lap and held you close, his mouth hotly exploring yours. The kiss melded from one into the next until you were utterly breathless. When you finally pulled back, you stared into his eyes carefully. Had they always been this warm? Had Jongdae always been looking at you like this? It made you feel so feeble to think whilst you had followed the trend of your parents, Jongdae had given you the chance to be yourself in his eyes. He didn’t judge you as part of the opposition. He searched for ways to separate you from the feud. You felt guilty for only coming to realise his strengths recently. Although, when you looked back over the years, there had been reason for your jealousy – Jongdae was a talented person.
And he was your husband now.
“Do you kiss everyone who admits they love you like that?” he teased and you grinned, shrugging lightly. “Hey! You can’t act like that to me. Not after how much I’ve done to get us to this point.”
“Which is what?”
“You not looking at me like an enemy,” he answered and you nodded softly. “To actually see me apart from our families, and to work alongside me on the first project at work. You don’t know how happy I am right now.”
“Do you think you could show me how much?” you wondered airily and Jongdae smirked, suddenly hoisting you up as he stood up.
“Are you sure you want to challenge me with this? I mean, you tried to take me on in the past and look where we ended up. We’re married and you didn’t want that.”
You kissed his lips before slinging your arms around his neck and smiled down at him. “Well, this is something I might be able to excel in. Let’s see who can outdo who now.”

So here’s the deal - one summer, 3 months, 94 days. At the end of this summer, Baekhyun can say no to marrying his worst enemy. The catch? He has to spend every second of this last summer with Park Chanyeol.
Comments: This is cute. You see Chanyeol trying really hard to make up for what he did as a kid because he liked him. Although I’m mad that Baekhyun was hurt.
