The next series of images comes from The Woodlands Apartment Complex (DeGaulle Manor) also known as Exhibit Be. A multi-block projects that was evacuated and abandoned after hurricane Katrina, these buildings became the stage for a collaborative graffiti event in 2015. Large murals are presented throughout, but every single room has touches made by someone. The whole area has a surreal feeling of aliveness through all the marks, testaments, and truths displayed.

The smaller detailed stuff like tattoos and jewelry normally start out as just odd shapes until everything else is sketched out. 75% of the time unless I know the tattoos, I have NO idea what I’m drawing until I see it close up. Look what I found when craving my Musketeer boys and browsing Audible:

Exhibit A:

This is a 23+ hours English audiobook version of the original novel by Alexandre Dumas, narrated by Tristam Summers. I’ve only listened to a sample so far, and although I like my narrators with a voice deeper than Summer’s, he gives it an entertaining flair with a flamboyant Louis and a classic flourish. I’ll definitely give this a try.

( And I assume blanking out Tom‘s, Luke‘s, Santi‘s and Howard‘s faces was meant to evade copyright infringement, but YOU CANNOT FOOL ME, people! I know my Musketeers when I see them!)

ExhibitB:

This is an 8+ hours audio drama based on the first Musketeers novel but - wait for it - narrated by Milady! It still recounts the scenes that Milady didn’t witness, so it’s technically a bit of a cheat, but the idea of letting the villain tell the story is fascinating, and 30 minutes into the audio drama, I feel well entertained. It transports the spirit of the novel, and I like that a lot!
