What I know about what she used to say until that point is that she won't reveal what she means by PoC because that could lead to doxxing (because people could find out where she lives).

And about that tweet, I know she said she apologized and that it was bad wording because she was trying to be sarcastic like sad laughing or something like that and not insensitive but came out wrong, due to her difficulty in signaling tone of voice, etc, because she's autistic.

I mean, I can see that making sense if true (I'm white&autistic myself tho, so maybe I'm just being too accomplice, I apologize if that's the case), but still she is always very defensive about everything that matters, super friendly with those racists, have blocked you, etc etc etc.

So, if she actually didn't mean any harm, why act like that? Why favour those people? Why is she more worried about defending her "reputation" and being offended when called racist than actually trying to do right by the stuff she's been called out for? Seems hypocritical, at best.

FRUITS BASKET S3 EPISODE 8 RECAP AKA THE KYORU CHRONICLES PART 2 (plus a quick recap of eps 3-7)

aaaaaaAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! I gotta get it out of me otherwise I won't be able to concentrate on work and I will be scrolling through the tag till the day I die. Everything from episode 3 of Season 3 literally hit me like an avalanche - literally cos I marathoned 3-7 over the weekend which I wouldn't advise unless you want an accelerated heartbeat - and I'm starting to realise... maybe I just wasn't ready for season 3. Despite asking for it, haha. Not gonna put as many screencaps for this one cos tumblr editing bay be trippin and I just don't have time nor emotional energy to be fighting with the picture uploads, sorry lol

Episodes 3 - 7

I spoke before about how (despite my feelings about the characters) the English dub VAs for Akito and Shigure pair up really well audibly. And I think I feel the same way about both Yuki and Machi's English VAs! They both have the same soft spoken yet scratchy element to their voices almost like they are holding slightly back. Although, I'd argue that Yuki has been losing the element of slightly holding back as the anime has gone on which I wonder if the same would be included for Machi's performance?

I really like the presentation of Machi's trauma through her family's expectations to be perfect and how physical it is? How Yuki kind of encourages her to let it out in a healthy way? (Btw the whole chalk breaking scene in the meeting was SO FUCKING SMOOTH. YUKI IS A NERD BUT HE IS SO EFFORTLESSLY COOL A LOT OF THE TIME)

The age gap between Isuzu and Haru for sure isn't the worst age gap in this anime/manga but it's still a bit... hmm...

Episode 4:

In all seriousness, I know Akito deserves some sympathy but it doesn't change the fact that I still see her as a villain. Hurt people hurt people but it doesn't mean they should get away with it, I was honestly pleased Haru got that big confrontation with Akito to tell her WHAT'S WHAT but it was also somewhat... merciful?

Hiro's growth has been so beautiful to see, him realising there are bigger things than him from the event with Rin to his relationship with Kisa to then the birth of his little sister.

Kureno choosing to get his hands a little dirtier and paying the ultimate price for it (as far as we know so far in the anime lol) was great, he is the moon side of Tohru's sunshine.

Shigure... I still don't really get him and Akito's relationship. It's clear he's waiting for Akito to grow the fuck up but at the same time he's not creating an environment for her to grow and develop. He's decided to go with the 'tough love' route which I'm still deciding whether I like it or not tbh. Sometimes it feels necessary, at other times it feels shitty. I respect that he knows he's a scumbag and I don't deny that there are people out there who take revelry in the fact that they are awful but at the same time, him remaining unchanging despite everything feels... unrealistic. But considering throughout this story he doesn't seem affected by trauma, it's understandable, I guess?

Also... that scene where Shigure ponders about whether he should've been with Tohru is THE creepiest creeper shit he's EVER done in this series. No. 🙅🏾‍♀️

Momiji is best bunny boi regardless of how tall and 'manly' he becomes. 🐰His scene with Akito was so authentically him and he really did that shit. We love him. <3

I love the way that the curse breaking should (on surface) be a happy event considering all the trauma the zodiac went through because of it but it's presented mostly as loss as well as happiness. It's the realness of getting out of a bad relationship

Shigure basically laying it out to Tohru how Kyo means nothing in a very taunting way was an excellently painful scene and I choose violence. It was heartbreaking seeing how worthless they all saw Kyo compared to how Tohru saw him but... by this point I was just living in the pain so 🤷🏾‍♀️

The story visually showing how Isuzu is more willing to be soft after her whole ordeal through her fashion choices (e.g. the pastels, the cardigans) was really nice. And Haru being happy about Isuzu making friends with Tohru was cute!

It was nice we saw that Kazuma was still wary about whether Tohru loved Kyo for the right reasons, you'd assume after everything Kazuma would love Tohru as a match for Kyo but he's so emotionally intelligent and also just a protective Dad! Yay, good parenting!

Tohru's confession to loving Kyo was amazing however I still adore Kyo's confession a little bit more. Just a bit. Lol. However, if you add the moment later in episode 8 it trumps it completely. Ethereal goddess.

Kyo and Tohru's grandfather having a scene together was great and nice

Now that I think about it, I wish there was more a visual link in the story between Tohru adapting her speech to imitate her Dad and Momiji adopting his Mum's German accent. Albeit for slightly different reasons, it just adds to the unique connection Tohru and Momiji have. In short, I'm seeing this ship with my third eye now. I get it lol

I don't wanna screencap the scene where Kyo is haunted by both his deceased mother and deceased Kyoko and potentially deceased Tohru because it's the stuff of nightmares. But, it was a wonderfully done scene. You definitely understand fully and clearly why Kyo buried all of that trauma under his hatred for Yuki (I CAN'T WAIT FOR EPISODE 9, YOU GUISE!)

If Akito is a villain, Ren is the final boss. Although, with her type of villainy... I feel like I can kind of enjoy a bit more. She reminds me of a Greek God in the ways she master manipulates people and her desperation for control and power (I just read 'Mythos' by Stephen Fry, it's a great read lol)

It lowkey feels like every female character who's comfortable in expressing their sexuality in this story is punished in some way for it... this is an incomplete thought

Shigure as a child feeling like they should all be pitied is so... mature... I feel like I need more of an explanation for why Shigure is the way he is

Akito's ego death with Kureno? Amazing. I loved that she was at least aware enough to realise how Kureno had been coddling her all this time but again... doesn't excuse her crimes

But anyways...

EPISODE 8

Honestly? I really don't have much to say about this episode besides 3-5 points I wanna get out of my head. It's not a bad thing at all, it's just that there's still a lot left to play out from this 'arc' and this season in general that I wanna complete my thoughts on.

But I'll start with this:

Lol, isn't it funny?! Isn't it heart-wrenchingly funny how the relationship between Kyo and Tohru has kinda reverted back to how they were at the start of the series? The coldness of Kyo at the beginning of this episode (and throughout) was a bit of a gut punch considering all the light and fluffy moments that we've gotten between the two since the True Form arc.

Talking about the True Form arc, I feel like this episode is somewhat a repeat of the same emotions, same trials of the True Form arc. Kyo still 'runs away like he always has' but this time we get him being the most honest and confrontational with his own emotions and trauma than he ever has been during the course of this whole story. While trusting someone (Tohru specifically) for the first time with the whole truth of his story! He always seems to move one step forward and then three steps backwards and while it's a tad bit frustrating, it feels very... real. I'll probably complete my feelings how this arc reflects the True Form arc when we finish this section of the story in future episode(s).

Considering the fact that 80% of this episode is Jerry Jewell monologuing as Kyo and I never got bored really just sells his performance. Kyo was being incredibly cold this episode and yet the range of emotions through his performance made it feel understandable enough for you to empathise with it.

BrattyKid!Kyo to lighten the mood 😹I still wish he and Hiro had more of a relationship, I feel like they could have taught each other a lot. Well... mostly Kyo teaching Hiro tbh

Kyo rejecting Kyoka for her honesty and kindness and then later rejecting Tohru? Oh... kid...

Wow, I felt so good about that whole episode of Kid!Yuki helping Kid!Tohru get home and then it's slightly soured knowing KID!KYO was running about the streets alllll night into the morning?!?! I really did feel Kyo's frustration at not getting that win to actually do something right. And the irony of that being linked to him being unable to save Kyoka from the oncoming car?

Honestly, I don't know what my feelings are on Kyo being unable to save Kyoka. I don't even know what my feelings are on Tohru pretty much pushing that aside in favour of her feelings for Kyo. It's... complicated and I've been mulling it over in my head for the last 10+ years hahah However, if I was in Tohru's position I think I'd eventually come to a point where it feels like it's too late to really do anything about how bad I'd feel about it. Kyo's intentions weren't horrid, if anything he was just being a scared kid and he's allowed to be that. I just wish Tohru had a bit more time to evaluate it but considering she knew her mother well and assumes that wouldn't have been the full scope of what she had said, I don't have much of a problem with it in general

Lol, I love when Tohru gets a 'FUCK YOU, I LOVE YOU' moment with Kyo. 😂Another reflected scene from the True Form arc... only thing is that this time... it doesn't quite work. 😕

(Again, I love how all of these reflections are resolved in later occurences in response to the duality but I'll get to it next week when it shows hopefully)

Laura Bailey only had a few sentences in this episode but she killed it as always. Comparing her performance in 2001 to now is just... growth!

Ok, so Yuki automatically gets Best Boi in this episode for meddling and chasing after KYO of all people. Showing how he's personally done with hating Kyo. Realising Kyo is pretty much the only person who'll make his mother happy. I think he also lowkey wants to understand Kyo? But, we'll get to that next week.

....Oh yeah, Akito is there.

In total, I liked this episode even though it has me anxious for the next one. We finally get the full picture of why Kyo is the way he is! Ahhhh - a weight off all our chests, I'm sure. I kinda don't like that they put the ending theme at the end of these episodes - the joyfulness doesn't really match up with the intense theme? But, that's just a minor gripe. And hey, maybe they just want the audience to know... it's all gonna be okay :)

LaR (re)watch part... 4 I’m gonna go with 4

 So we continue on with our still happy adventuring, and now even Sifeng is smiling much more often, although he is still icing out 6th bro hahahahaha, I do love that there are these kind of blink and you’ll miss it moments when they are out and about, Sifeng is still holding a grudge!

Is it really a (c)drama if there isn’t at least *one* of these scenes??? Signs point to no. Another cut because damn did i go screencap happy 

Now we get to some of my favourite bits of the show, but pretty much also the beginning of the END, but before we get ahead of ourselves let’s first appreciate the fact that they spend the next few eps in wedding garbs and Sifeng outs his giant crush on Xuanji to everyone else (not that idk how anyone could have *missed that* but now even 6th brother is aware. Also they once again keep giving Sifeng the traditionally female role of the narrative which never fails to crack me up when they do it very blatantly.

Blabla they fight a fox demon lady, who they think was evil, but basically just got herself an adoring harem of worshippers who don’t even wanna leave. Plus they meet Merman guy again and they prove that demons aren’t automatically shitty! Huzzah for complex moralities.

Somewhat anyway.

Speaking of “””””complex”””””” moralities fucking Wu Tong attacks with his new best buddies and they get separated, with Xuanji and Sifeng washing away to a hidden cave and my poor girl Linglong getting captured by Wu Tong and UGH that’s not a storyline I look forward to, otoh it is at least treated in a way that doesn’t shy away from the implications. BUT ANYWAY THAT’S NOT YET RELEVANT.

Sifeng hasn’t bled aesthetically in far too long and I’m glad the drama recognises and rectifies this factoid. AND it gives us an excuse to get rid of the rather bland mask, so we finally get to see Sifeng’s entire face again. 

Bc Xuanji is a girl after my own heart, she wastes no time stripping Sifeng and “treating his injuries” I mean that’s what I’d say too if I was asked. 

I am very proud of you Xuanji, GET YOURS! 

Sifeng (finally) realises the mask is gone and he is just so elated and so happy. He seems to forget this is like in the early teens of a 50+ episode show, oh Sifeng, really you should know better!

Of course, he thinks Xuanji loves him now, forgetting that she still lacks a majority of her six senses and doesnt really *understand* love yet. Plus the whole mask thing is imo much more about *his* feelings for her than hers about him. 

As is the prevailing theme with this show, Sifeng tries to be all romantic but waffles about so Xuanji TAKES CHARGE as always, sadly all my screenshots of that were shit.

Xuanji gets another of her senses back and they snuggle but unlike Sifeng the drama remembers that haha we’re barely a quarter into the drama so things are Not As Good as we’d hoped.

DUN DUN DUUUUUUN, everything is still fucked, Love Curse is still going strong and nothing is really resolved, other than the fact that we finally get to see Sifeng’s pretty face in, so we can truly appreciate the upcoming pain.

Another thing that happened in the meantime though: we get to meet my other favourite side character TENG SHE!!! And his (on again off again boyfriend) technically boss Qing Long. Teng she is a character that doesn’t really give off his true delightful mannerisms in still images. He’s a Heavenly Snake and the actor really went for all the wriggly and twitchy movements. Maybe a bit too much at times but it really worked for me.

Nothing will ever convince me these two *dont* have something going on.  Anyway let’s end this post on a cap that just encapsulates about 80% of this show. Some righteous sect leader is being a sanctimonious prick after Sifeng and Xuanji do them a solid, thinking Sifeng wants to fuck his wife.  

He goes after Sifeng, injuring him but ofc Xuanji stands in front of her man protecting him and about to throw down with the sect leader bc he touched Sifeng. Mmmmm yes please and thank you.

I have always opened invitations to literally anybody in the server to talk to me about any issues they might have. I have always said that my dms were open. All of the mods were able to be contacted about literally anything. That’s the whole point of having mods. If there are issues, you come to us with them. If you have an issue with us specifically, you come to us with them.

Don’t try to make yourself the victim when you vehemently refused to approach us about any issues you were having. And the drug use droppage wasn’t once or twice, it was more than a couple times. You act as if we didn’t care about you when we heard you had to go to the hospital. you act as if we brushed it aside and didn’t care for your wellbeing, but we worried about you constantly which was why we kept an eye on you.

And sidebar, I’ve never fucking condoned child porn, so I don’t know where you’re getting that from. Its an argument you keep making and I’ve never said it, and I don’t understand why you’re dragging this out. You can post screencaps all you want with other people who left the server in them, that’s fine, but at the end of the day I’m still responsible for what goes on in the server and who says what in it, and your conduct has, more than once, been wholly unacceptable.

I get that people dislike me when they leave. Because they never bother to, you know, actually talk to me, because they’re so ‘intimidated’ by me. Because they’re scared of me ‘doing something’, like i’m suddenly going to ban them or remove them for simply having a conversation with me. I’ve only done that *once* to, surprise surprise, you, two years ago, for disrespecting a moderator.

Would you like to run a server of 300+ people in it? Would you like to run 3 jobs while trying to spare the attention and effort to even check in once in a while?

Ya’ll can hate me and call me shitty all you want, but at the end of the day you’re all just mad that the server, and the moderators and people in it, wasn’t what you expected it to be, and that’s on you. We gave you chances. Many of them, in fact, and you threw them away. I am not some person waiting in the shadows for anyone or everyone to fuck up when it comes to conduct in the server. My moderators tell me when things happen when I am not around, and I respond accordingly. I am not lying in wait for someone to make a mistake so i can punish them for it. That’s why we have a 3 strike rule. That’s why we have a rules channel and other moderators to help guide people. That’s why we have nsfw channels and specific roles to separate minors and legal adults. We curate the server the best we can, and we do our best to uphold dignity and fairness wherever we can. Just because we didn’t favor *your* side does not mean we didn’t exhaust all of our options. Just because the only side you saw of us was the side that was negative towards your actions does not mean that that is the only side we have. Open your eyes and learn a little about management and tolerance before going off on a rant and being upset at me for doing my job.

People use the excuse “I was too afraid to talk to you” all the time to me, and then they never approach me with any issues, and then they get upset that I somehow didn’t know something was an issue, or that something I was doing was an issue, when all they could have done was dm me and say “Hey, this thing you’re doing isn’t cool and its making me uncomfortable for reasons. Could you stop?” And I’ll oblige! I do the exact same thing with everyone I talk to who happens to break a rule. Just because *you* didn’t contact *me* about something doesn’t mean you then get to be upset at me for it if I didn’t know it was a problem.

You cannot condone me for doing my job both as head of the server and as head moderator, and in the same breath tell me you never came to me with any problems. You cannot spout hypocrisy and vitriol in the same breath when you never made an effort. We’ve spoken several times, all in good standing. I’ve checked in on you multiple times when I was concerned about you because I cared about your well being, but I suppose none of that means anything when you’re incapable of being able to separate personal vendetta and abject obligation. The bottom line is that we gave you 3 strikes, you were warned, you didn’t listen, and you paid the price. And you left because you weren’t getting your way, because you had to have the last word.

I could go off all night about this, I really could, because I still have all of our chatlogs, but its 2am in the morning, I have work tomorrow, and this is the final word I’m going to have on this. I don’t need to tag either of you because you can both see this, but you need to step back and chill the fuck out. At the end of the day I’m doing my job, and part of my job was keeping you in line. Sorry it didn’t go your way, but I am not the two-faced she-witch you want to make me out to be. I’m a person with a variety of responsibilities who deals with not only my other mods, but the hundreds of people in the server on a daily basis.

Dragon Ball Z 202

Last episode, Gohan created a superhero persona to disguise himself while he fights crime.   By acting as the Great Saiyaman, no one at school will find out that it’s really Gohan.

This episode, he blows the whole thing on the second day, because some girl is on the roof when he switches out of his costume.   Hijinks, as they say, shall ensue.

Gohan isn’t sure what to do here, so he just sort of walks past the girl and worries about it.

He gets so wrapped up in the problem that he doesn’t pay attention in class, so the teacher makes him stand outside.  

Meanwhile, the girl is in the same class, and she’s doodling Gohan in her notebook.    This looks pretty good, but I always wonder if when cartoon characters sketch someone in the house style, is it supposed to be photorealistic, or cartoony? 

Anyway, the girl, Angela, is so consumed with thoughts about Gohan that she doesn’t pay attention to class either, and she breaks down in tears when she gets in trouble.

But she uses this as an excuse to go stand outside, where Gohan is.   The teacher didn’t actually tell her to do this, but what’s he gonna do?   Punish her for pre-emptively punishing herself?  

So, out in the hall, Angela asks Gohan if he has a girlfriend, and when he doesn’t answer right away, she gets all upset.   Then she threatens to tell everyone his secret unless he takes her on a date, so Gohan agrees.     Angela tells him to meet her in town tomorrow on Sunday.   Wait, so they’re in school on a Saturday?    That’s bullshit.  Also, why does Gohan have to hold pails of water but Angela doesn’t?  

Gohan tries to deal with this properly, so first thing’s first, he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do on a date.    So he asks his mom, who probably isn’t the best person to go to for advice on this, but who else can he ask?   Piccolo?  Krillin?  Yamcha?   These guys all have no business giving out advice.

Chi-Chi fondly recalls the time she and Goku hung out alone while Emperor Pilaf and Colonel Silver fought over a Dragon Ball.   I want to say this was Dragon Ball Episode 31?   This isn’t a flashback to that episode, though, since this is all-new footage, so I sort of wonder if Chi-Chi might not be embellishing things somewhat.    In any case, she tells Goku they’re on a date, and when Goku doesn’t know what that is, she tells him that it’s the most fun thing a boy and girl can do together, so he naturally assumes she wants to spar with him.  

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...

So yeah, none of that helped Gohan at all, so he just asks Angela not to reveal his secret, and she tells him to take her to see a movie.  

Here’s a nice shot of the Satan City Theater.   I guesss this movie is about a volcano?   Anyway, Gohan falls asleep in the middle of it, and Angela gets upset and thinks he doesn’t want to spend time with her.   Well, duh.    You’re blackmailing him, remember?

Gohan follows her outside and tries to patch things up, and she immediately cheers up and tells him to take her to a cafe.  

There, she instructs him to ask her how many sugars she wants in her coffee, so he can add them for her.   

So, I get the sense that Angela really wants to have a paint-by-numbers romance, hitting specific moments that she’s seen in books and TV shows.    But she needs a boy to actually execute all of these spots, so she strongarmed Gohan into doing all of these things, but it’s never going to feel quite like it did when it happened on TV, because it’s not spontaneous.   Right now, she’s only enjoying this because she’s experiencing it firsthand, but it’s a hollow fantasy.

I say this because I’ve seen men over the years pining for similar fantasies.    Well, maybe not similar, but the same formulaic approach.   Like, “I gotta get me a girl who will dress up in a red wig and a yellow dress and a white vest and ask me to tell her how many sugars she wants in her coffee, so we can re-enact this episode of DBZ.    Yeah, that’s hot.”  Or whatever your thing is.    The reality is that even if you found someone to humor such a specific request, it would never quite hold up in real life.    You can’t manufacture this stuff.    

Maybe that was the point of Chi-Chi’s story earlier.  It was romantic for her because it actually happened, and it wasn’t just Goku doing whatever she wanted him to do.   They were both being themselves, and they hit it off, and that’s why she thinks so fondly about that time he punched a tree.   Krillin’s first date with 18 was probably nothing at all like he had in mind, but he probably loved it because it ended up cementing his relationship with the love of his life.   And I’m sure he would have loved to take 18 to a movie and a cafe, but not as an end unto themselves.    You can scoop your own sugar, and if you wait your whole life for someone else to do it for you, you might miss out on something better.    I’m not sure where I’m going with this analogy.    I take my coffee black, so maybe I should move on.   

Anyway, Angela wants thirteen sugars in her coffee because of course she does.

Over coffee, Gohan tries to get some sort of reassurance that she won’t tell anyone his secret, but that’s the furthest thing from her mind.   She mentions that “it” is cute, but that’s about all she has to say about it.  

Then there’s a fire at Satan Tower.    Well, I think this was supposed to be Satan Tower, because that’s where they were going to go next, but maye they saw this building on fire while they were on their way.   

So, little bit of trivia here, this episode didn’t air on Cartoon Network because it was originally scheduled for September 19, 2001, eight days after the 9/11 attacks.   That sort of flew under my radar at the time, because I had already seen this episode on VHS a couple of months earlier, but when I heard about it I wasn’t sure what to make of it.   Were they just not going to show any TV program that featured a tall building on fire?   I think for a little while, that’s what the networks did.   At the time, no one really knew what was appropriate and what wasn’t.    I have to admit, seeing this screencap does remind me a lot of the footage of the towers burning.   But at the time, that was a very distinctive image, and no cartoon of an unrelated incident could compare. 

Anyway, the episode finally aired on Toonami about eight weeks later, but this is a filler ep, so it’s not like anyone really needed this one to keep up with the story.

So when Gohan and Angela find this, they hear that there’s people trapped on the roof, and Gohan realizes that he needs to change into Saiyaman and save them.

But Videl’s already on the scene.    Her aircraft can’t land because of the thermal updrafts, so she jumps down to the roof herself and tries to open a valve on a water tank, figuring that flooding the roof will at least buy time for a rescue.    There’s a whole sequence where she consults a team of computer guys about it, and this dude checks the building’s schematics and runs a simultation to see what good the water will do.    But Videl’s not strong enough to open the valve, and her fingerless gloves don’t help matters.    They’re stylish, but not much protection against the hot metal. 

But then Gohan rushes in, despite Angela’s protestations, and Saiyaman shows up to save Videl when the water tower falls over.    He punches a hole in it, which I guess does more than Videl had counted on?    Anyway, he saves all the people on the roof, including Videl.

Afterward, Videl spots Gohan in the vicinity, and she wonders if that might mean something.   Remember, she still harbored suspicions that Gohan is the Golden Warrior, and this is the second time she’s seen him at the scene of a crisis.   

Then Angela finds them and assumes that Videl is Gohan’s girlfriend.   Uh-ohhhhh!

Funny thing is, despite knowing Gohan’s secret, she seems to have no idea why he ran into a burning building a minute ago.   She thinks he was just trying to save Videl, or maybe she thinks they like to make out in burning buildings?  I dunno.   

Heartbroken, Angela tries to play her best card, and tells Videl Gohan’s secret.   Gohan’s horrified, but he can’t really do anything, so he just starts screaming, as if he can drown out the truth.   Then again, screaming usually works pretty well on this show, so I can’t fault him for falling back on the basics. 

But between breaths, Angela gets the secret out: Gohan wears teddy-bear underwear.   Wait, what?

In perhaps the stupidest flashback ever, we see Angela wandering around after gym class, only to find Gohan pulling up his pants.    I guess he was changing out of his gym clothes?   Why would you do that with the door open?   

So that’s the secret Angela’s been holding over Gohan’s head this whole time.    So what about on the roof?   Didn’t she notice Gohan wearing the Great Saiyaman costume there?   No, she didn’t, because she didn’t have her contact lenses in at the time.    Womp-womp-waaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Videl is not amused.    I’m pretty sure in the dub, Angela wonders what Gohan is talking about, so she asks him if he had his pants down on the roof too, and Videl tells him to keep his pants on, or else.

Of course, Gohan could care less about how many girls see his sexy undies, so he just laughs the whole thing off and claims that his mother bought him the wrong kind by mistake.    Really?   That’s the best you can do?    She bought the wrong kind, and you just keep them in your rotation anyway?    My mom bought me this shitty tank-top looking thing when I was in seventh grade and I absolutely despised it, but she wouldn’t listen to me and bought it anyway, so I knew she’d probably try to make me wear it and I wanted no part of that, so I stuffed it in a box in my closet where she wouldn’t be able to find it.    Out of sight, out of mind, right?   Well it worked.    I still don’t know where that fucker went.    I probably threw it in the trash one day just to be safe.    That shirt sucked.   Not just because it looked stupid, but because my mom wasted money on it rather than just listen to me, the only person who was ever going to wear the thing.   

Sorry, I went off on a tangent there.  That’s what this liveblogs are all about, though.    If you just wanted a dry recap of the action, you’d watch these yourself, or look it up on the wiki.   Point is, Gohan wouldn’t wear teddy bear underwear unless he wanted to.     He killed Perfect Cell.    He wears a vest.   He does what he wants.

So Gohan’s secret is safe, but he still feels terrible about hurting Angela’s feelings, so the next day he goes to apologize to her, only to find that she’s moved on to some other boy, and she’s got a date with him next Sunday.   Badda-bump da-da-bump!

(I wanna preface this with a trigger warning for mentions of rape) Hey, I was scrolling through my twitter feed and saw some people being nasty about season 7 (and the cast) but something that stood out to me was the fact that there's a couple of people who are accusing Wish!Hook/Rogers of being a r*pist and accusing him of admitting to it. I'm currently rewatching s7 and was wondering if there was something I missed, either explicitly or implicitly stated 😅

OH MY GOD, ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

I’m going to fucking rant about this for a bit, so hit the jump. Or don’t.

Okay, refresher for Nonny and those who are new to this ShitShow:

A bunch of people decided to opt out of S7, because Emma Swan was no longer going to be on the show. Now, not watching a show after your fave character/actor leaves it is absolutely understandable. There’s nothing wrong with it. However, hate-watching that show, campaigning for it to be cancelled, attacking the actors, writers, show-runners and crew who are continuing to work on that show or join the show after your fave’s departure... That’s all completely shitty (and absolutely batshit CRAZY) behavior. There is NO excuse for it. Ever.

And that segment of batshit crazy assholes is who we’re talking about here.

Now, most of these motherfuckers haven’t even watched S7. They base their crazy-ass opinions on synopses of the episodes, and heresay from their similarly sanity-impaired friends. So most of the time, it’s useless to counter their rantings with facts and canon interpretations. They’ll simply repeat, “Well, my friend Janet said it, and I believe her.” or some other nonsense.

So. With all of that in mind, Episode 2 of Season 7 re-introduced Wish Hook to viewers and revealed that he was Detective Rogers, set up Emma as his “savior” as a respectful nod to the idea of every Hook being “destined” to be saved by Emma Swan, and also established his primary and singular drive as a character - reuniting with his daughter. THOSE were the main points of the episode.

However, the fuckwits I spoke about above decided to focus, not on any of the important aspects of the episode, but on his cockamamie plot to score a True Love’s Kiss from Emma in order to cure his poisoned heart. The plot entailed using magic to de-age himself, returning to Storybrooke with Regina, getting a kiss from Emma to cure said heart, then returning to his own Enchanted Forest to reunite with Alice. It is this last part that the nutters refuse to believe. They prefer to believe that Hook intended to stay in Storybrooke, take over OG Hook’s entire life, and in so doing - engage in sex with Emma under the pretense that he is “her” Killian. And that is where the rape claim comes in.

Now, for those of us who actually watched the show, it’s painfully (and embarrassingly, for those nutters) obvious that Wish Hook would never have stayed in Storybrooke for even a second longer than necessary after curing his heart (or finding that his plot didn’t work). His entire impetus as a character was to reunite with Alice, his daughter. Remaining in Storybrooke, a realm far away from where his daughter even IS, and maintaining the charade of being someone else, someone without said daughter, and bothering to keep up that pretense... doesn’t suit his character’s main goals whatsoever. It’s ludicrous to think he would. It’s literally insane and one has to be awfully dedicated to besmirching the show and the character to even maintain it.

And yet, they do. Their ONE “ace in the hole” is that they managed to get one of the writers (Adam Horowitz, I believe) to answer a question about what Wish Hook intended to do with his plan with an admission that Wish Hook intended to take over Hook’s life. Now, I’m gonna come right out and say it: That answer, regardless of who it came from, also doesn’t fit the narrative of S7 or Wish Hook’s main drives as a character. And I’m also gonna say that sometimes even the people who should know best about a show don’t... and also, sometimes people mis-speak or are trying to emphasize one thing (in this case, how “bad” Hook was going to be to get what he wanted, and how “in need” he was of Emma’s saving him and setting him right) instead of the more important thing (that these fuckers had no interest in Wish Hook’s redemption and only wanted to bait Adam into saying something they could use as “proof” of their claims).

But regardless, it’s the ONE thing they have to “back up” their insanity, and they use the fuck out of it. Mind you, these same people will summarily throw out any and all claims that there wasn’t rape involved or intended there as factually incorrect, regardless of where they come from. Instead, they will simply trot out that ONE well-worn screencap yet again and insist, as always, that they are right and Everyone Else is wrong.

So... Long story short, it’s absolute apeshit, and the people who argue it’s true are so asinine and obsessive that they’re not worth arguing with. You can’t change their minds or make them see sense, because they desperately want to cling to their belief that S7 Is Bad and Wish Hook Is Bad and that they were/are right to boycott, campaign against the show, and attack those who took part in creating it, because it is clearly Bad and does Bad Things. This is also the entire basis of their claims that Wish Hook, Rogers, and S7 itself are “triggering” to them and deeply disturbing. They use this claim to try to essentially erase S7 from existence by complaining whenever the S7 exclusive actors are involved in “Once” events, or whenever S7+ actors refer to S7 events or Wish Hook, himself. Colin has even been directly accused by these assholes of “approving” of rape and being “insensitive” to his fans by wearing clothing he got from Rogers’ wardrobe to conventions. It’s absolutely batshit, toxic, and rude.

I suspect this is all rearing its ugly head yet again because Jen is scheduled to appear at Enchanted 3, and some of these crazies (who are all Jen fans, incidentally) are already trying to get Starfury to not invite anyone who exclusively starred in S7. Which, considering the only other announced star is Tiera Skovbye, I sincerely wish them all the luck in the world with XD But regardless, the SANE fans are all pretty much telling them, “Hey, what? That’s rude? Why are you being a dick?” and I’m assuming the jerks quickly resorted to “but rape is bad!” arguments to derail all the legit complaints about their shitty-ass behavior.

SO! My advice to you, Nonny, and to everyone else... is to mute those assholes and not engage with them in any way, shape or form. Like the comments of those poor fools who try, because their hearts are in the right place, even if their brains are doomed to be scrambled by the illogical reaches they’re about to be subjected to. It’s good to show support for the sensible people in our fandom(s). But I don’t recommend actually engaging with them, yourself. They’re hateful, toxic people... and your entire life will be better off for steering clear of them. Also, there’s only about 10-20 of them in their entirety, so once you weed them out and mute them, it’s like they don’t even exist.

And, hopefully, if they’re ignored by enough people for a long enough time, they’ll move on to something else. I guess that hasn’t happened yet, but here’s hoping it happens eventually. If not for our sake, then for Jen’s. I can’t imagine getting a reputation for having fans who literally harass and stalk her co-stars, employers and even people who simply continue to work on a project after she voluntarily leaves it will actually help her career at all.

Don’t get me wrong here, working with Jen on Once was a huge step up for Colin’s career... but the crazies in her fandom are literally following him into his next projects, naysaying them, criticizing and insulting him, attacking his fans for supporting him and his projects, and insisting that nothing Colin does will ever be as good as the work he did with Jen... and that’s just fucking NUTS. And it’s not limited to Colin. Remember the fervor when Josh Dallas dared to call another actress his “Tv Daughter”? Yeah, that was charming. If this keeps up, it won’t be long before Jen’s earning herself a reputation for being “lovely to work with, but comes with a cloud of toxic fans who will make her co-stars sorry they worked with her for YEARS afterwards.” And, I mean, color me weird if you want to, but I think that’s generally NOT a good plan.

Su She aka Su Minshan. An ungrateful little snot. Like, I wish I could tell you he’s actually not an ungrateful little snot, but he’s an ungrateful little snot who was super jealous that Lan Wangji has more talent in one little eyelash than this ungrateful little snot will ever have in his entire life. Basically when you see him, he’s usually kissing up to someone’s ass and the general dislike of the Lan Brothers for him is often mentioned in later episodes. Like, do you know how much of a fuck-up you have to be for even Unending Well of Kindness Lan Xichen to not like you? Anyway, he's pretty insignificant always, but especially here, and you won’t see him again until later episodes.

Look, I know we already met Wen Ning, but look at that adorable puppy.

So, okay, this is the only episode Lan Yi appears in, but she’s the only female Sect head EVER of the Lan Clan, who invented the Chord Assassination Technique that Lan Wangji is so very fond of, and Carman Lee is an actual goddess, so she gets a spot on this list. Also, bunnies.

Jiang Fengmian. Yanli and Cheng’s dad. Leader of the Yunmeng Jian sect, Wei Wuxian’s adopted uncle, former bff’s of his dad, and according to old rumors used to be in love with his mom. Very indulgent of his daughter and nephew, he is harsher on his son knowing he will have to one day lead their Sect.

Jin Guangshan. A man who, if he had just kept it in his pants, could’ve prevented 94% of the tragedy in this show. The leader of the Lanling Jin Sect, he’s the father of Jin Zixun and Meng Yao among many many many many many others.

Xiao Xingchen aka Daozhang . Always dressed in white. Best friend of Song Lan, former associate of Xue Yang. One of Baoshan Sanren’s students. Actually too good for the mortal world. We’ll talk again once we hit the Yi City arc.

Song Lan aka Song Zichen. Bff of Xiao Xingchen. Usually dressed in black or grey.

Just leaving this here for memories of happier times…in a house full of dead people.

Nie Mingjue aka Lord Chifeng . Fanboy’s big brother. Leader of the Nie Sect. One of the Three Zuns. Has no time for anybody’s bullshit. Could def use a tropical vacation or some other relaxing holiday. Wields a bigass sword called Baxia that should basically be given credit as a supporting cast member.

Wen Zhuliu aka the Core-Melting Hand, standing here, like he usually is, behind Wen Chao. His trademark is, well, melting the Golden Core of a Cultivator, you know, that thing that basically makes them cultivators.

Yu Ziyuan aka Madame Yu aka San Niang. Yanli and Cheng’s mom. Wielder of Zidan, the purple lightening whip contained in a ring. Does not approve of her husband or her husband’s affections for Wei Wuxian. Def does not approve of Wei Wuxian. Badass and proud. Do.Not.Fuck.With.Her.

Creme Herr-Mullet is.… a Very Bad Person. If you fuck up with her Once, she will not accept apology. She constantly whines about her own problems without taking others into consideration. She doesn’t take your feelings into account and will ignore you for days on end purposefully as a “punishment” for doing her wrong. She refuses to forgive, and cuts off people who depend on her over minor missteps. She forces herself into relationships, then blames the other party for HER MISSTEPS, despite being the one who pressures the other party into a relationship they don’t want (figure 1: me. We dated for one week, at her insistence, and she never gave me an ounce of affection). She often uses her mental illness as an excuse, and uses pity as a tool for her own gain. She’s very manipulative, and she can pull other people into supporting her shitty desicions. She refuses to own up to her mistakes. She has the gall to call me a bad person when we share so many of the same flaws, the difference is that I can own up to my mistakes and strive to change, whereas she hasn’t changed one bit. I was once ready to forgive her, in fact I begged and fucking groveled at her feet for her to take me back, but it’s obviously not happening.

On a more petty note, she can’t draw for shit and her fic ideas are cliche and dull, however, she gets loads of attention for them because they’re fucking Klapollo. Yawn.

Creme cut me off after a minor argument. I was doing awful at the time, and very actively suicidal. She knew this, and yet she and her best friend KHG (who is a different can of worms who I hate personally less but still dislike strongly because she refuses contact with me) decided to block me on all forms of media, up to and including fucking Ao3. This isn’t the first time she’s done something like this, she broke up with me during a time where I was also extremely suicidal. I managed to make it through the first time, but the second time she was one of many factors that contributed to my suicide attempt.

Despite numerous attempts to apologize to her, she’s been unresponsive and just becomes more vocal in her hatred for me. I’m returning the favor.

It’s very hard because lots of my mutuals followed and befriended her when we were close, and she doesn’t want any of her mutuals talking to me. The feeling is more than mutual, as whenever I see her or even think of her, it plummets my mood and I get self destructive. I’m not petty enough to ask you to unfollow her (UNLIKE A CERTAIN SOMEONE, COUGH COUGH), but god, be aware she’s an awful person.
