Internet Technology Explained
Understanding the different types of internet technology can help you make an informed decision when choosing a provider. Here's a breakdown of the most common types:
- 5G Home Internet: Utilizes cellphone towers to deliver high-speed internet directly to your home. Offers speeds up to 1,000 Mbps but consistency may vary based on proximity to a cell tower. - Fiber: The swiftest and most dependable option, boasting symmetrical download and upload speeds. Limited availability but offers multi-gigabit plans. - Cable: Widely accessible and highly reliable, with gigabit speeds. May experience slowdowns during peak usage periods. - Fixed Wireless: Offers reliable connectivity for rural regions without the latency issues of satellite options. Expect slower speeds and data caps. - Satellite: Spans all 50 states, offering reliable connectivity for rural areas but with higher latency and lower data allowances. - DSL: Utilizes telephone lines for data transmission, offering widespread availability and affordability but relatively lower speeds.
Guidelines to Selecting Your Ideal Internet Provider
Still not sure where to start? Follow these guidelines to help you make the right choice:
1. Evaluate Your Speed Needs: Take our speed test to gauge your current speed and determine if you require more or less. 2. Consider Device Count and Usage: Factor in the number of connected devices and your daily online activities. 3. Assess Your Current Speed: Test your existing internet speed and seek transparent pricing to understand the actual cost. 4. Demystify Internet Terms: Gain clarity on essential internet concepts to make informed decisions.

——-
The smell kept him coming back.
In his life, Harry had been to a quite a few bakeries. He could be considered an expert on fudge brownies, a specialist on cupcakes and the swirls of icing, a connoisseur of croissants. He treated himself a bit too often, if his mother had anything to say with it. His sweet tooth had always been prevalent in his life.
The new bakery down the road from his job, though? That had made him a true problem.
Every day before work, he stopped. Suit and all, pulling into the parking lot and nearly drooling the moment he got out. His feet carried him towards the door and the smell hit him immediately. Sweet buttercream, frothy vanilla, spiced cinnamon, and… something else. That something else that had him nearly vibrating, and now on a mission to have the whole menu to figure out just what the hell that scent was.
It was intoxicating. Mesmerizing. If Harry didn’t have work, he would spend hours just sitting here to smell it. It had a weird hold on him, and he didn’t quite know how to ask if it was an air freshener. That was unlikely for anywhere but restrooms anyways considering how offensive it could be for the noses of alpha’s and omegas alike. A bad scented one could send them into moods. Or even sickness. The sense of smell was very important.
“Mr.Styles.” The teen manning the cash register saluted him. He came in every day and was known to the cashiers, so he had ruled out it being one of them. Thank god. They were either young enough to not have a scent or too old for it to be possible. “What will it be today? Y/N’s been whipping up a storm for the holidays. New recipes. We’ve got a peppermint bark brownie that would go well with the peppermint mocha you like.” She chirped, watching as he scanned the cases.
Harry was a little intimidating but he was exceptionally charming. He smiled, he conversed, he tipped well, but he always seemed to be looking around. Trying to find something that no one could really place. The bakery was empty besides a mum and her friend with their kids, munching on treats and coffee as they watched the traffic go by. It wasn’t them. Harry’s ears did perk up when he heard an unfamiliar name.
“Y/N?” He asked, tilting his head as his attention went back to the cashier. “Who’s that? The owner?” Harry had never met the owner. For some reason, every time he came in the morning she had stepped out for her own break. It didn’t bother him so long as his compliments to the baker got passed along, but hearing her name stirred something in his chest.
“Yep.” She popped the p in her word. “She’s awesome. She started this all on her own after she went viral on the internet. She got the funds from online orders. You see the custom cakes and stuff but she does awesome experimental flavors. She doesn’t care if they’re hits or misses and let’s us go home with leftovers.” There was obvious pride to be working for someone like Y/N. It peaked his interest.
“Oh?” He asked, leaning his body against the counter. “That’s incredible. I’d be very happy to taste some of the new things.” He flashed a smile, tapping his card against the wood of the counter. “What would you think Y/N would suggest?” And why did saying her name make him feel silky and hot? Like it was meant to live on his lips? They tingled as the word left his mouth, making him shift his stance slightly. His skin was buzzing slightly as he heard someone else come from the back.
“She would suggest the peppermint bark brownies, the s’mores donut, the lemon cream cookie and the chili chocolate cupcake. Spice and sweet work surprisingly well together.” The airy voice went to his bones.
Harry could smell it fully now. The scent that laced the bakery was now engulfing him. Filling the space, making him inhale it with each breath. His hand tightened on the card, curling into a fist at his side as he caught a glimpse of her. She had been the source. It wasn’t a baked good or a cashier, but it was the baker herself that was making him addicted to the sweets laced with her scent.
He was silent as he observed her, a smile quirked on her lips. Slightly glossy and deliciously plump as she greeted the cashier with a simple hey and asking her to go to the back to grab the other new tray of cinnamon buns. Sliding them on to the rack, she used her hip to gently nudge the counter open and grabbed one for Harry.
“Here. On the house.” She slid the bag over to him with her soft simper, hands tapping on the wood.
She was marvelous.
Harry was speechless. Something he never usually was- the alpha could talk to a brick wall if he needed to- but this sweet little omega has been slowly hypnotizing him with her scent over the course of a month and now he was finally seeing her. He loved delayed gratification, a fan of edging, but this? He wished he had seen her far earlier.
“Hi.” He peeped. His face looked like he saw a ghost. The woman in front of him was like a mirage- and he wasn’t trying to be dramatic. He swore she was familiar to him in some way. Some how. She was all omega in the ways that called to him. The curve of her face and her soft voice… he could have started purring if he didn’t have some semblance of self control in his body.
“Hi.” She returned the greeting with a soft chuckle that heated his chest. “I hope you like the suggestions. I recognized your voice. You’ve been in here every morning we’re open and I figured it was about time to meet the loyal customer.” She chirped, brushing the stray hair that had fallen from her ponytail behind her ears. The adorably disheveled look added to her appeal.
A candy apple red apron was dusted with various baking material, tied around her waist snug. It showed the curve of her waist went deeper than what he could tell under her sweatshirt that appeared to have the bakery name printed on it. A swipe of flour was decorating her forehead, like she had wiped hair from her face and simply forgot about flour coated hands. Little details he was memorizing to think about later.
“I love the smell.” He blurted out. Immediately, he winced. That hadn’t been what he had meant to say, at least how he had meant to say it. Heat crept up further under his cheeks as he opened and closed his mouth, watching her giggle a bit as he tried to find his bearings.
“Fucking hell- I meant to say, I love your bakery. It smelled amazing when I went past it so I decided to stop in a few weeks ago and now it’s become a part of my daily routine. I bring in pastries for the office.”
“Aren’t you a star coworker.” She cooed, turning from him with a wink as she grabbed one of the red boxes and began to construct it. “They must love you at the office. I have on good authority that the one that brings the snacks, gets the pats on the back. Especially hand made, beautifully crafted baked goods.” She teased, opening up the case and beginning to place some sweets into it.
“I’d hope they like me. I’m their boss.” He laughed quietly, scratching the back of his neck. Never has he felt more like a schoolboy talking to a playground crush. He was head to toe in a suit good enough to meet his best clients, and a girl with flour on her face was sending him to his knees. Each time she moved, a gentle waft of her scent was given his direction and made that ever loved self control hang by a thread.
“Ooooo. Bossman.” She grinned, wiggling her brow as she placed another iced brownie with crushed peppermint bark sprinkled on top into the box. “Should have guessed. Love the suit, by the way. You look very handsome.”
That little compliment made his day. The pretty omega with the prettier smile and mouthwatering scent thought he looked handsome. That would be lingering in his brain all day. How she thought he was handsome. The casual compliments.
“Thank you.” He preened. “We do interior and exterior design for businesses. Up and coming places and remodels. So if you ever need a guy- I’m here.” He placed his hands in his pockets and lifted up on his toes rocking back and forth.
“Oooo. Is it that bad in here? Do I need a renovation?” She sucked her teeth, tilting her head. It had him freezing, mouth falling open to grovel. He hadn’t meant to offend her at all, hadn’t tried to insinuate it needed a remodel.
“Shit- no, I’m sorry. It’s very cute in here, I didn’t mean to insinuate it needed any help. I’m sorry, I didn’t realize how it would sound-“
“Cool it, bossman.” She cooed, laughing at how he had nearly fallen over himself. “I’m just messing with you. The place does need some exterior work, actually. I hadn’t had the budget when we first started, nor the time. But I didn’t take any offense to it. You’ve got to market yourself. Don’t worry.” Her reassurance made him melt into relief, leaning into the counter. This whole encounter had him feeling a bit on edge in the weirdest way. He wanted to snuggle this woman, yet he was almost afraid of her. An omega. He was afraid of an omega.
Anyone else would laugh at him, perhaps, but he felt the nervousness creeping in his bones. He wanted her to like him. He wanted her to think he was cool and want to know him better. Y/N, Y/N, Y/N. She had unarmed his normal charm and made him feel like a nervous bundle of sweat and it was exhilarating.
“I’ll take a card, though.” She placed her hand out flat. “If you’ve got one. I’m gonna check out your website.”
Harry fished one out of his wallet, thankful he kept them on hand. It had his office number, and part of him wanted to offer his personal cell but he knew that would be a bit weird. Especially if she wanted to use his services. He almost hoped she didn’t- asking a client on a date wasn’t good for the image, was it? He wasn’t sure.
“If you’ve got any questions you can reach out on the email there, it’s a direct line to me- or uh, I come in every day so.” He shrugged. “Around this time. You’ve got very good coffee too. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good hazelnut. People put a lot of syrups and things… but your shop does it the best.”
“Thank you.” She seemed chuffed with his praise. “I taste test everything with the crew here. You’ll be in for a treat. If you’re coming in every morning, do you think you’d want to be a bit of a guinea pig for me?” She slid the box across the counter. “I’ve been experimenting like my lovely employee was saying. But I’d love a real customers opinion. Even if it’s bad. I want to know what the consumer likes.”
Harry was shocked. Y/N was kind of treating him like a friend, like she valued his exact opinion. He couldn’t deny he felt exceptionally special. Having not only the owner of the bakery but an omega he had some sort of crush on suddenly want to sample the new things she sells and get his opinion on it.
“Oh- uh. Alright. Of course! I can do that.” He grinned shyly, handing his card over for her to pay for the things she had put into the box. “I come in every morning during the week so… you can just let me know what’s new to taste.” There was a giddiness in his stomach. An excuse to talk to her every day. Or at least a few times a week. He’s never really reacted this way to an omega before, the scent craving, the shyness he suddenly felt, all of it was so new to him and he was unsure how to navigate it but he didn’t want to stop. He only wanted more.
“Perfect. What is your name, by the way?” The card was handed back to him and there was slight disappointment their fingers didn’t brush, but Harry took today was a victory.
“Harry. Harry Styles. It’s lovely to meet you.”
“Y/N. I’m glad to meet you too. I hope to see more of you soon.”

Guys, buy physical media it’s dying. They are taking it from us.
My local Meijer (a regional variant of Walmart) has stopped selling physical media. Like outright. It’s now gift cards for streaming services, and online shit. They are phasing out physical video games too. They are phasing out laptops, DVDs players, blueray players.
I know, I know, streaming services are so easy and convenient. But like, you don’t own it. You are at the mercy of the services. Once they kill physical media completely they can hike up the prices as steep as they like, $30, $40, $50 and more a month. Because it will be the ONLY way (short of pirating) that you can watch shows and movies. They will make it cable and satellite premium levels of expensive. And you won’t be able to stop them. They’ll hold your favorite shows hostage behind paywalls and micro transactions. They’ll vault up shows and movies and make them unavailable for long periods of time. You’ll have to have 7 different streaming services all costing $40 bucks a pop to watch the things you want.
You’ll have access to NOTHING without paying a premium. And remember, you already pay money to have an internet connection. Are streaming services really as affordable as you think? Internet price + the price of each service? That adds up. And they keep raising the price, and will keep raising the prices, because they know you’ll keep paying.
Having physical media means you get to watch your favorite shows and movies anytime. With or without internet connection. Broke as fuck? You can still watch it, because it’s yours. Did they lock up your favorite show or movie to make it more exclusive? You can still watch it with physical media because you own it. Want to let your friend borrow it? You can lend it to them, or burn them a copy. No need to fret about stupid services cracking down on password sharing. Want to watch the movie or show with online friends? You can stream DVDs over Discord so friends can watch with you.
(Am currently streaming Teen Titans the original animated series with my best friend over Discord. It’s mine, so neither of us pay anything to watch it together.)
Companies are writing off physical media as unprofitable. They are culling it. Taking it out of stores, making it less accessible.
People around me talk about all these movies and tv series they’d love to watch, but have to buy another streaming service to access it. And I offer to let them borrow the DVDs or Blueray, and they straight up tell me they don’t own DVDs or dvd players. Why?! WHY!? They subscribe to 4 or 5 different service instead forking out $50+ a month. But they put themselves at the mercy of these services, at the mercy of internet connectivity and access. They can’t even borrow a movie or show from me, because they are so dependent on internet and streaming.
Did you know there are literally ways to save your movies digitally and take them on the go? Streaming should be a neat little thing that’s convenient, it has its perks and uses, but it should NOT the only way to watch media.
Save physical media.
Buy a dvd player.
Buy movies.
Buy shows.
Own your media.
Stop renting it. Streaming is just glorified rental.
Stop renting it.
Because soon that’s all you’ll ever be able to do.

Let Begones be Begones - Veritas Ratio
Where Ratio conceals his identity as a faceless and voiceless streamer, until he finally reveals himself to your surprise. College au! and also streamer au! Exes to lovers, reader is a bit sassy. ~1k words, SFW
a/n: i feel like i don't often write in ratio's perspective, so i wanted to give a go at it...
"FUCKING HELL!! I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU!!" The purple-haired man had heard through the thin walls separating your apartment flats. This had been the third time in probably an hour where your yells and screams had nearly broken Ratio's ears.
Yes, Ratio was a streamer himself, but at least he was courteous to his neighbours enough to use a text-to-speech application and an elaborately-designed model when streaming, so he didn't need to reveal his voice nor appearance. Hardly anyone knew about his job as someone who blabbers on the internet for money. Not his boring Architecture major classmates, nor his closest childhood friend, Aventurine.
One of the few people who knew about his side gig was the precisely the person living in the flat next to his. You see, you two shared the same passion for sciences and such, and ended up applying for the same major, which didn't end up very well, with a falling-out happening just months ago.
Ratio had seen you while throwing out the trash once, and upon his eyes meeting yours, his face morphed into a scowl that slowly spread across your face too. An eye roll was more than enough to show his dismissal of your existence, even after all the joyous times you two spent together. Or that time where holes were practically burning into his skull when he was presenting his "new idea of architectural geniusness".
He also knew that you two shared the same job, thinking nothing of it, as his method of earning money was too intelligent to not garner a few copycats here and there.
After a long day of studying and attending classes, turning his monitor on was the last thing Ratio wanted to do. Yet, he promised his viewers a "facecam" stream to celebrate his first year of streaming (which was also his first year of being stuck in ths terrible apartment complex). He did his usual routine of setting up his stream, with an additional flick of his bangs due to his first appearance as himself on stream.
Ratio went along with the stream as usual, doing his greetings, reading his donations, and throwing (jokingly) vile remarks at his chat. He wanted to get it over with as soon as possible, so with one last look at his phone camera, he turned off all his assets.
"Well, asides from me feeling extremely bare and upfront upon the eyes of you idiots, any thoughts?" Ratio spoke, his real voice unconcealed.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH- WHAT?!"
The man's head swiveled to the side in alert, eyebrows narrowing in annoyance. Your shrill shriek had once again assauted his ears. THE Veritas Ratio hadn't think this through enough, huh?
He sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat after the stream ended. Ears perking up at the loud knocks on his apartment door, Ratio dragged his tired body to the doorway, knowing full well that he would be bombardde with countless questions.
"What now?" He grumbled.
"YOU'RE TELLING ME YOU'VE BEEN HIDING THIS," your finger jabbed at your phone displaying his streamer profile, "FROM ME?" Ratio sighed, body practically slumping against the door frame. "Nobody said that being a streamer's exclusive to you. Now just- go back to your room before I slam the door in your face."
The realisation that you've been watching his streams was slowly dawning on his barely-function mind. Considering the type of content that he made which only appealed to a small audience compared to gamers or E-girls, he knew basically every recurring viewer.
Including the one who has been spitfireing snarky chat messages at him ever since the falling-out.
Oh.
It was comically ironic how Ratio was the one who ended up knocking on your door the next morning. He felt awkward, brain tingling from the predicament. This was the first time (not counting yesterday night) that he's talked to you personally in weeks, even months. His feet was tapping in impatience, hearing you stumble through your way to the door.
"Oh, it's you. What happened to wanting me to get out of your face?"
Ratio's fingers ran through his hair, strands of violet falling to his eyes. He was uncharacteristically silent, racking his brain for a proper reason that wouldn't make him lose his face.
"Well, I just- You know... Ugh! Why do you have to make this so difficult?!"
"I just... wanted to know why you decided to watch my streams."
You chuckled at his coy form, you wanted to burn it into your retinas. Not only because it was a very, very rare occurence, but also because you never wanted to let go in the first place. Ratio was the one who decided to break it off, saying that you were a distraction to becoming a greater scholar. You still remembered how hard you cried that night, and thinking back, he'd probably also remember due to how thin the walls were.
"Listen, it's not like I wanted to stalk you or something, I just happened to learn about it through a mutual friend. So if you're trying to manipulate me or hurt me again, today's not the day for it."
Ratio faltered. He didn't expect your sharp words to hurt this much. Each and every time he saw you in class, the deeper the hole in his heart would go. It's not like he wouldn't like to pursue you again, he was just incredibly scared. And knowing Ratio, he'd never admit to that.
You sighed, beginning to find the conversation pointless. You decided to turn back and return to your room to continue working on your essay. But before you could, a calloused hand grabbed your wrist firmly. You looked back to see Ratio with his head hung low.
"The things that you do to me... How come someone like me, someone who was born to use logic and reasoning, be so impulsive when it comes to dealing with you?"
You smiled, interlocking your fingers with his, gently rubbing your fingers on his callouses from writing and researching. He didn't disappoint you this time, and you knew that he wouldn't hurt you again.
You two shared a hug before you led him into your apartment.
"What's with all the mess? You'll never have a clear mind with such an unruly space."
Looks like he was back to his usual self.

Heartdresser | LH44 (Patreon preview)
Full piece already available on Tumblr! Read here.
▸Pairing: Lewis Hamilton x braider!reader ▸Warnings: mentions of a brother, tooth-rotting fluff, mentions of LA GP with a different ending, fem!reader (she/her). ▸ my masterlist | my taglist | patreon guide ▸ support my writing by reblogging, leaving a comment (don’t forget to follow me if you like the piece), or buying me a coffee
Being a Formula One Driver had its perks, from obvious and big things such as traveling everywhere to not-so-obvious and small things like having your hair stylist travel to you when you needed them. After becoming an adult and famous, it took Lewis a couple of years to come to terms with his hair, how to style it, how to take care of it, and how to embrace the texture and volume. He felt finally whole when he reached that point, one where meaningless comments on the internet wouldn’t make him rethink his path, goals, and achievements. Of course, comments hurt, but being comfortable with yourself helped, and that was something Lewis learned.
****
“Who’s Dee, by the way?”
“It’s Aiyden, my little brother. I call him Dee,” you explain before adding, “He’s finishing a Chemistry project with a few friends at school. He was tempted to skip but gave up after a pep talk on how school is important, and I would take forever doing your hair just so he could see you.”
Lewis nods while you explain, and then he’s chuckling just like minutes ago.
“I don’t mind waiting for him with you,” he winks.
You’re not sure if he’s being friendly, funny, or flirty, but any of these F words coming from the black guy in front of you are surely making your heart skip a beat.
****
Saturday was even more of a rush, you almost didn’t see Lewis, but he texted before and after quali. So when Sunday came you were still trying to navigate the whole paddock thing, but a bit more comfortable about it. Aiyden was still acting as if it was his own version of Disney land and it was his first day discovering the adventure world. You were loving it for him, of course.
“Nice outfit,” Lewis whispers right beside you, catching you off guard and making you jump in surprise. You were in a corner, just texting a friend, and checking your next few appointments while Ayiden went to meet Charles and you thought Lewis would be there until he came back, but it wasn’t the case.
“You’re sneaky,” you chuckled, straightening your instance and looking into his face only to notice he was already staring at you.
“You look cute when you’re focused,” he winks, before adding, “and when you’re scared too.”
“You look cute when you joke like this,” throwing back at him you didn’t expect for his brows to furrow in confusion.
“You think I’m joking?”
“Aren’t you?”
Lewis giggles. He giggles and you can’t help but smile with the sound and the way his lips part while his eyes squint. “I’m not.”
“You’re not?!”

I have no idea, if you've answered them already sorry, if you did and I missed it 😅
🐇🦷🥐
I have not! Thank you!!
🐇 ⇢ do you prefer writing original characters, reader inserts, or a mix of both?
Hmm I don’t really like reader inserts personally, but some of my fics have a fair amount of OCs, because when I write an AU or something, I need characters to fulfill certain roles (like the antagonist) that I can’t always use canon characters for. I do like to focus on the canon characters, so I try to keep the OCs as few and unobtrusive as possible, but for a fic like Vox Populi for example … I have to have a bunch of soldiers and people working at the military court and journalists etc that are just not given by canon. That being said, I don’t at all dislike writing OCs, I quite like coming up with them, giving them their little quirks to make them seem a little more rounded … I just worry sometimes that readers will be put off by the amount of OCs, that they’re taking away too much attention from the canon characters. But as I said, with fics like VP it’s kind of unavoidable. Uhhh all that to say I definitely prefer writing OCs! Sorry for rambling 😂
🦷 ⇢ share some personal wisdom or a life hack you swear on
Ahhh at first I couldn’t come up with anything and then I thought about it and now I have too much 🙈 But I think I’m gonna go with this one because I was thinking about it just earlier when we were texting.
Basically, it’s this post that’s been at the back of my mind since I first saw it and that I often consult mentally when I’m overwhelmed with how much I have to do and stressing and don’t know where to start. I don’t have kids, but I am often struggling to balance my part-time job and my freelance job and housework and my hobbies and social life and other obligations.
So I find myself thinking about if what I’m struggling to catch is a glass ball or a plastic ball, and if it is a plastic ball, perhaps I just have to let it fall, but that’s not a disaster. It’s just plastic.
Like sometimes I get really stressed out at the end of the month because I haven’t finished my Patreon exclusive art but also have too much other stuff to do to sit down and draw, so I have to remind myself that a) Patreon is not a big source of income for me, I’m not reliant on it, b) most of my patrons are friends who will not mind if the artwork is posted a few days late, they are my patrons to support me and not because they want to get all their perks on time. So I may have to drop that ball, and I can always pick it up a few days later, it’ll still be there waiting for me.
Or when I’m doing stuff like Nanowrimo or febuwhump or similar events, where I put a lot of pressure on myself that I have to keep it up and get everything done in time and feel like a failure when I miss a day … I have to remind myself how thoroughly plastic these events and my writing in general is. Not that it’s not important to me, but these challenges are self-imposed and I won’t be penalised for not completing them, and I’m not doing them to “win” them but to inspire and motivate me. If I have to drop writing for a while, it will always, always be there for me to pick it up again when I’m ready, no harm done.
Because plastic ball does not equal unimportant, and dropping it does not mean you do not care about it. You don’t have to feel guilty if you need to focus on the glass balls for a while.
Keeping this in mind has made it much easier for me to prioritise and not get overwhelmed as much when there’s a lot going on. I can definitely recommend it.
🥐 ⇢ name one internet reference that will always make you laugh
I don't know about always but.. I do quite enjoy the "something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve" meme. and "use the sleep" will usually get at least a smile out of me because I love that stupid post. I'm a bit desensitised by now to references to the "you cannot kill me in a way that matters" post, but "tell me the name of god, you fungal piece of shit" still makes me laugh too.

Hi hi, what inspired you to make the humans are weird series?
I'd like to first say that though many of my stories are from that genre, it was around long before I came along. It would be a disservice to those writers before me to claim that I invented it; I just loved it so much I found a home writing within the genre. As for what inspired me to carve out that nice little corner of the internet for my stories that's a different tale. I was going through a tough time a few years ago since I'd been let go from my previous job and the job search wasn't working in my favor. Weeks turned into months with no luck and I started getting depressed and soo I started wandering through the internet to pass the time. I came upon several scifi stories about aliens interacting with humans before and reading them helped perk me up some. I never started a blog before so I thought I could give it a shot to keep me busy while I kept on my job search so I started writing here. I first did short skits with writing mortal kombat style dialogue for Rooster Teeth characters from the franchises like RWBY, RVB, and Gen:Lock. Once I saw that people were finding my little snippets fun to read I thought I'd expand into creating my own stories, so I took a step into the humans are weird genre. I still remember my first story about a human diplomat who beat a psychic controlling alien by trapping them in their mind and then torturing them with their love for graphic horror movies as payback for brainwashing their friend. After that I set out and started making more and more of my own stories. Sometimes they were honorable homages to existing characters with a different spin, such as the Assassin series with the main character being inspired by Garak from Deep Space 9, and others I created from scratch like the gangster Jimmy and his quest to build a criminal empire on a distant alien world, or the diplomatic weavings of Earl Von Morgan and his growing love for an alien representative Tilith. My favorite personal project though is the story of the mercenary leader Mr. B, a massive walking shark man, and the little girl who helped save him from slavery Lizzy. I commissioned several artists to bring their characters to life in image and it was worth every penny to see them. To better motivate myself I started a patreon were people get first hand exclusives to stories ahead of time before they get released here and can also make suggestions for stories or ask for further expansions of existing stories.
In the end what started out as a side project came to play a large part of my day to day life now and I could not be happier for it. Reading the comments, likes, and shares from everyone here brings a smile to my face. I look forward to continuing with my stories for you to read long into the future, and I hope you enjoy the ride :3

The 31st Gene Key
The 31st Gene Key moves from the Shadow of Arrogance to the Siddhi of Humility and it is the Way of Leadership.
The 31st Gene Key is about activating your leadership with humility. This means learning to fall with Grace because that’s what makes a good leader... A good leader can fall and lift themselves back up again. And that takes a special kind of strength.
Programming Partner Gene Key 41: Fantasy – Anticipation - Emanation
The 31st Gene Key represents leadership
True leadership is the gift of helping others find their way forward in life, rather than taking away their power. It’s moving away from fear towards Service.
It's embracing your Heart.
It's choosing to let your Heart lead you toward your Soul's highest aspirations and potential... for the highest good of all.
Shadow of Arrogance – World Wide Web of Words
The 31st shadow of arrogance is about seeking attention and recognition. It’s caring what other people think, and trying to please or provoke.
Today, this shadow has gained more momentum than ever through the internet – through social media, for example. And, the more unsure we are of ourselves, the more we look for affirmation from the outside.
Instead, ask:
How can I best serve the whole?
That’s a question our modern culture doesn’t yet ask – at least not on a collective level…
Gift of Leadership – Heart Branding
Courage is a key quality of Leadership - not the courage to run headlong at the enemy or do something externally impressive. It’s the inner courage to stay centered in our Truth - in the truth of our heart - even when others may not understand. Or even when they project all kinds of things onto us. It’s about standing firm in our self-love.
Siddhi of Humility – Ring of No Return
The 31st Siddhi is about learning to trust the spirit within us. We all have to make difficult decisions in life. But we must learn to make them in the spirit of surrender, deep listening, and trust. Then we’ll learn what it means to be truly humble.
Living life right out of the fires of your heart will humble you over and over again. Yet, true humility knows that your spirit will not only prevail – but it will thrive, dance and soar, as you learn to live without expectations or fear.
Journaling the Gift of Leadership
Where in life am I caught up in caring about what other people think? Who is it that I effort to please, or provoke?
What expectations or fears, keep me from letting my Heart lead? How can I stay centered in the truth of my own Heart?
Name three of the greatest leadership qualities I'm gifted with.
How can I use my voice and actions to make the world a better place for us all?

Hi, I'm just curious if you've ever considered posting the preview audios from your YouTube on soundgasm? I love listening to your work when I try to fall asleep but YouTube doesn't keep playing when the phone goes black. I'm not good at getting my tone across in text so I just want to specify that this isn't a demand or a complaint just curiosity and I completely understand if it's not something you want to do :)
hm, i haven't considered it no. i put them on youtube purely as a way to advertise my patreon, which makes sense to do on youtube as there's subscribers there, but you can't follow people on soundgasm so i never saw the point because i don't think anyone would join patreon from seeing my soundgasm. i'm not sure if i would put the previews on there? i worry that people who are going there in order to listen to audios, and often the spicy audios, will listen to previews by mistake and then get annoyed when it cuts off, and how i would add tags for them when the spicy tags aren't going to be in the preview.
that's strange that your phone turns off when playing youtube? it shouldn't?? that's not a thing phones are supposed to do when playing videos on something like youtube. unless you mean you want to be able to have your screen be black but still listen, in which case i'm sorry but i guess that's just a benefit of the patreon, that from there you can download audios and then always listen to them with your phone screen off or even without internet.
i hope that doesn't come across as money hungry or like i'm doing everything based around patreon. in my mind putting previews on soundgasm would cause confusion and lead to people clicking on those audios, expecting full length audios, and then getting disappointed. i' follow a lot of other creators who put public previews on youtube, and have soundgasm, i've never seen another creator put previews on soundgasm so i just always felt like that's not a done thing on that platform.
and also i got permission from my patreons to start putting the previews on youtube as a way to advertise and i don't think it's fair to spread content that is meant to be exclusive to them on too many platforms and give people the perk of listening to it as an audio (on soundgasm) instead of a video (on youtube) when that's something they pay for
tldr: no sorry, for all the reasons above

In today’s digital age, small businesses face unique challenges when it comes to funding and growth. Traditional methods of fundraising often fall short, leaving entrepreneurs searching for innovative solutions that resonate with their audience. Enter digital fundraising—a game-changing approach that not only allows businesses to raise money but also builds community and fosters deeper connections with customers.
Whether you're looking to launch a new product, expand your services, or simply navigate tough times, the power of online platforms can help you achieve your goals. From social media campaigns to virtual events, there are countless ways for small businesses to tap into the vast potential of digital fundraising. Get ready to explore creative strategies that will elevate your business and engage your customers like never before!
The Importance of Digital Fundraising for Small Businesses
Digital fundraising is becoming essential for small businesses. With limited resources and tight budgets, finding innovative ways to generate funds can be challenging.
The online landscape offers numerous platforms and tools that make it easier than ever to reach potential supporters. This opens up new avenues for funding that traditional methods simply can't match.
Moreover, digital fundraising fosters community engagement. Customers feel more connected when they can contribute directly to a cause or project they care about. This sense of involvement builds loyalty and encourages repeat business.
Additionally, the global nature of the internet allows small businesses to tap into larger audiences beyond their local area. Raising awareness becomes feasible on an international scale, significantly amplifying potential contributions.
Engaging in digital fundraising also enhances your brand's visibility across various channels. It positions your business as a proactive player in today’s competitive market while creating lasting relationships with stakeholders.
Social Media Campaigns
Social media campaigns can be a game changer for small businesses aiming to boost their digital fundraising efforts. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter provide a vast audience ready to engage with your cause.
Creating eye-catching visuals paired with compelling stories often draws attention. Use videos or infographics to share the essence of your mission. Authenticity matters; people connect better when they see real faces behind the brand.
Engagement is key. Encourage followers to share posts or participate in challenges related to your campaign. Utilize hashtags strategically to reach wider audiences and create community around your initiative.
Don't forget the incentives! Offering exclusive rewards for donations through social media can motivate potential supporters. Whether it’s merchandise, shout-outs, or special experiences, giving back adds value while fostering loyalty among donors.
With consistent effort and creativity, social media can elevate your fundraising goals significantly.
Crowdfunding Platforms
Crowdfunding platforms have revolutionized the way small businesses raise funds. These digital spaces allow entrepreneurs to present their ideas directly to potential supporters.
Launching a campaign on sites like Kickstarter or Indiegogo can provide immediate visibility. You can showcase your product, share your story, and connect with an audience eager to support innovative concepts.
The key is crafting a compelling narrative. A well-thought-out pitch video and engaging visuals make all the difference in attracting backers. Transparency about goals, budgets, and timelines fosters trust among contributors.
Additionally, rewards for different pledge levels encourage participation. Offering exclusive perks not only incentivizes funding but also builds community around your brand.
Engagement doesn’t stop once the campaign ends; keep backers informed with updates along the way. This ongoing communication strengthens relationships and sets the stage for future endeavors or additional fundraising opportunities.
Virtual Events and Webinars
Virtual events and webinars have transformed the way small businesses connect with their audience. They offer an accessible platform to showcase products, share knowledge, or engage in meaningful conversations.
Hosting a webinar allows you to present valuable content while promoting your business. You can invite industry experts as speakers, which not only enhances credibility but also attracts a larger audience.
Interactive elements like Q&A sessions keep participants engaged and encourage them to interact with your brand directly. This creates a sense of community that traditional events might lack.
Promoting these online gatherings through social media and email marketing can drive attendance and boost overall visibility. Attendees appreciate the convenience of participating from anywhere, making it easier for you to reach diverse audiences.
Additionally, consider charging a fee for access or offering exclusive content post-event as part of your digital fundraising strategy. The potential here is significant; creativity knows no bounds in the virtual realm!
Email Marketing and Newsletter Subscriptions
Email marketing remains a powerful tool for digital fundraising. It allows small businesses to reach out directly to their audience in an engaging and personal way.
Creating a newsletter can keep your supporters updated on your initiatives, events, and goals. Share stories that highlight the impact of donations or contributions. This builds a connection between you and your subscribers.
Encouraging sign-ups is crucial. Offer exclusive content or discounts as incentives for joining your mailing list. Make it easy for visitors to subscribe by placing forms prominently on your website.
Segmenting your email lists can also enhance effectiveness. Tailor messages based on subscriber interests or past engagements to make communications more relevant and appealing.
When crafting emails, use compelling subject lines that grab attention right away. A strong call-to-action will guide readers toward taking the next step—be it donating, sharing, or participating in an event.
Collaborations with Influencers and Brands
Collaborating with influencers and brands can elevate your digital fundraising efforts significantly. Influencers have dedicated followers who trust their recommendations. This trust can translate into support for your fundraising initiatives.
When choosing an influencer, consider those whose values align with your business. A genuine connection will resonate more with their audience, driving engagement and donations.
Partnering with other brands can also amplify your reach. Joint campaigns allow you to tap into each other's customer bases, creating a win-win situation. Co-branded promotions or exclusive offers are excellent ways to attract attention.
Remember to leverage social media platforms where these collaborations thrive. Share compelling content that showcases the partnership while highlighting the cause you're supporting.
Engaging storytelling can truly inspire action from potential donors. Use visuals and authentic messaging to convey why this fundraising effort matters—both for your business and the community at large.
Creative Product Bundles and Limited Edition Items
Creative product bundles can be a game-changer for small businesses looking to boost their digital fundraising efforts. By thoughtfully pairing complementary products, you not only add value but also create excitement among your customers.
Limited edition items further enhance this strategy. When people know they’re purchasing something unique, it taps into the scarcity principle—a powerful motivator in consumer behavior.
Consider offering exclusive bundles during special occasions or holidays. This approach allows you to tell a story with your products while appealing to emotions and urgency.
Promote these offerings through email blasts and social media campaigns. Engaging visuals and compelling descriptions will entice potential buyers.
This method not only drives sales but also fosters community engagement around your brand's mission, making every purchase feel meaningful.
Utilizing Online Marketplaces
Online marketplaces offer a powerful avenue for small businesses engaging in digital fundraising. By listing products on platforms like Etsy, eBay, or Amazon, you can reach a broader audience beyond your local community.
These sites allow you to showcase unique creations or curated items for sale. Consider donating a portion of the proceeds to support specific initiatives or charities that resonate with your customers.
Moreover, utilizing marketplace features such as promotions and seasonal sales can drive urgency and increase visibility. Highlighting these efforts through social media channels enhances engagement and encourages sharing among potential supporters.
Incorporating storytelling into product descriptions adds depth. Share why certain causes matter to your business and how customer purchases contribute positively. This connection fosters loyalty while amplifying your fundraising goals seamlessly within the shopping experience.
Leveraging Google Ad Grants
Google Ad Grants offer a fantastic opportunity for small businesses looking to enhance their digital fundraising efforts. Nonprofits can receive up to $10,000 monthly in free advertising on Google Ads. This tool allows organizations to boost visibility and attract new supporters.
Setting up your account is straightforward. Start by ensuring your nonprofit is eligible and registered with TechSoup. Once approved, you can create targeted ads that reach potential donors actively searching for causes like yours.
Focus on relevant keywords that resonate with your audience. Craft compelling ad copy that highlights your mission and fundraising goals. Remember, the key is to drive traffic not just to your website but also directly toward donation pages or specific campaigns.
Monitoring performance regularly helps refine strategies over time. Utilize A/B testing for ad variations, optimizing based on what resonates best with viewers while maximizing donations through informed choices.
Conclusion
Digital fundraising has become a vital strategy for small businesses looking to boost their growth and engage with their communities. By embracing various online tools and techniques, you can create innovative campaigns that resonate with your audience.
From harnessing the power of social media to launching crowdfunding initiatives, there are countless ways to connect with potential supporters. Virtual events provide unique opportunities for engagement, while email marketing helps maintain relationships over time. Collaborating with influencers can amplify your message, and creative product bundles encourage customer participation in exciting new ways.
Utilizing online marketplaces opens doors to wider audiences, while Google Ad Grants can enhance visibility without straining budgets. Each approach offers a different avenue for success in the realm of digital fundraising.
Success comes from experimentation and understanding what resonates best with your customers. Engage authentically and watch as your community rallies behind your mission. Embrace these strategies today; they could be the key to unlocking new possibilities for your small business’s future.
