you paced the botanical gardens on campus, hands tangling in your hair s you thoughts went a million miles a second..

how am i going to get home?

how is my family.. god i miss them..

if im forced to stay here.. how do i even pass these crazy magic classes?

do the people here ive come to know even want me here or are they forced to cause i cant leave..

every new thought was another anxiety that just caused your breath to quicken. your thoughts were flooded with negatives.. if you had magic this is what youd assume a magic blot would feel like.. so much negative emotions piling into you all at once.

you eventually sat below a tree, knees curled to your chest as you tried to calm yourself down. it didnt help that you hadent slept in days, insomnia only getting worse since coming to nightraven.

yet no matter what you did your breaths wouldnt calm, your hands kept shaking, and you couldnt hear or see straight. you almost jumped right out of your skin as you felt hands grab your own that covered your face. looking up you saw brown hair and ears.. leona?

his voice made its way to you eventually, "herbavore? herbavore.. seriously c'mon your worrying me. ruggie said you ran off but i didnt think itd be this bad." he mumbled to himself before his hands slipped dwon to your biceps, "hey, listen to me." he spoke firmly.

your eyes eventually meet him, your breaths calmling slightly at his presence. taking large breaths through your lips as you looked up at him, arms shaking in his hold. "dont fall out on me now, we need you." he spoke lowly as he scopped you up with ease, placing you betwen his legs, "your alright now herbivore, whatevers going on in that head of yours, its gonna be alright, yea?" he placed a kiss on your forhead allowng you time to breath normally.

when your breaths calmed and body began to calm, you sighed and leaned more into his body, "thank you.. leona". he chuckled deeply, sloching more down the tree, letting you fall into his chest. "its fine kid, just glad your fine. did something happen?". your eyes widened before spilling, explaining your thoughts to him slowly, anxious to be a burden. when you ended he rolled his eyes and strted laughing.. at you?..

"you seriously think anyone here doesnt want you here? i think at this point those first years would fall apart without you, and as for finding your way home, crawley better. or ill personally kick his ass, alright herbavore?" you simply nodded your head and leaned into him smiling, "your really not as bad as they say you are.."

vi had become obsessed with training for the dance competittion, day after day everyone was practicing for hours every day. you tried to be nothin bt supportive but your insomnia had only gotten worse with the recent stress of the compettition..

you guys had gotten the first brea of the day, you sat against the wall between kalim and ace as they yapped about how excited they were to preform next week. listening to them had you distracted, your eyes fluttering closed.

a hand was placed on your shoulder, looking up you saw jamil crouched in front of you, "are you alright? you look terrible prefect" you heard ace and kalim repremand him for being so blunt, but you just shook your head trying to wake up, "im fine jamil.. just tired, thank you though"

he looked skeptical but quickly turned to make sure kalim was drinking water and taking a proper break. ace mumbled something under his breath that you barley couldnt catch before he stood up and walked towards vil who was with rook and epel, who were talking across the room.

you saw vil look down at ace with his arms crossed, he glanced at you as ace pointed a finger to you. vil abandoned his conversation with epel and rook, shooing away the others around you, "why wouldnt you say that you havent been sleeping, thats not proper conditions for you to be proforming in prefect."

"im fine vil-", he rolled his eyes and cut you off, "you look anything but, stand" he reached a hand down to you, pulling you up from the ground. your head swam with spots when you rose too quickly, stumbling into vil.

he wrapped his arms around your waist, holding you up, "poision.. is somethng truley wrong?" you looked up at him, eyes wide as he read you like a book. he quickly took your hand and dragged you out of the practice room and into the lounge at pomefiore.

he sat you down in one of the chairs and crouched in fron tof you, holding your face in his hands, "speak to me.." you sighed before explaining what had been happening, the stresses and not sleeping, the thoughts of never being able to go home.

he sighed and stood, sitting beside you and tugging you into his side, "i wish you would speak up when this happens, you know that id never wish to add to your burdens." he placed a kiss to your forhead before continuing, "we will find a way for you to go home, no matter how bitter sweet itll be, i do hope we find a way for you to go back and forth.. we would all miss you terribly here.. especially me." at his words you sighed and relaxed into his side, "ill find a way back, i could never just leave you guys.. especially you.

im supposed to be relaxing, just breath..

your mind spaced out as you looked at the floor in front of you while stuck in thought. your hands tangled into your blazer sleeves as your breath quickened, your vision began to see spots before you felt a hand rest on top of your own in your lap.

"prefect, is something the matter?" your head snapped up and saw lilia who was sat beside you, a concerned look for once took over his boyish grin, "your not looking too good.. are you ill?" he placed a hand on you forhead attempting to asses if you were running a fever.

"im alright.. just missing home" you mumbled, offering him a small smile as you placed your head on his shoulder. he sighed, raisng your hand to press a kiss on the back of your hand, "well find a way for you to go back, i promise it my dear."

he wrapped an arm around your waist pulling you to lean more into him, "in the mean time, you havent been sleeping and its clear, get some rest prefect" his boyish grin returned as he pecked your cheek. he was right.. everything was gonna be ok.

you finally felt comfortble enough to fall into a deep sleep against him, with grim curled up into your lap mumbling about his dreams of tuna. surronded by people you became found of over you stay at nightraven, it wouldnt be bad to stay here, but you knew that there would be a way home.

Okay so last night I was having an "art style panic"? I guess you could call it that? But I was feeling really bad, so i started drawing other peoples art styles and picking points and peaces out of it!

I did this last night when I was really tired and i used a pen so the drawings may not be how i usually do my drawings haha

Ok so first up we have @emjoyzhos-ej !! I recently just found your account but you have a very cool style!!

What did i learn from this whole thing i did? That everyone has a unique style, that even if they try to change it it still stays theirs and it's still unique

I also found out that everyone, small artists and big artists, has flaws! It's comforting to know that everyone has flaws so I know I'm just learning and getting better everyday

Another thing I got from this is that everyone's styles are always changing and warping. But thats fine! Because everyone's moving and changing, and the worlds always moving and changing!

So, don't be so hard on yourself if you're struggling to draw or find an art style, how you draw is unique to you and you'll like it one day

Just keep drawing everyday and you'll get there.

I suggest doing this challenge, on paper or digital, wether you color it or not, or post ot or not!

It's great to try out.

Who out of the twst boios do u think prefers cute over sexy?

I had to think over this a lot because in regards to yandere stuff, I feel like they'd still love you no matter if you are cute or sexy, but!!! Preferences and it was interesting to explore this aspect.

Note: If any of you want me to elaborate on any of the characters, feel free to ask! I actually do have more thoughts on Idia especially—

These guys are the most enthusiastic about you being cute over sexy. Maybe it's from a sense of protection and possession they feel over you that does it. This doesn't just mean in regards to appearance, but also in attitude as well. It goes for attitude and the way you hold yourself. They just can't get over your mannerisms and you are oh so endearing to watch.

Deuce, JACK, Silver, Sebek, Epel

Although they are either indifferent or love both, there is a rush of excitement that goes through them when you are all cute in a helpless way. It's more of a fantasy than something you do but...there's a sense of power imagining you in a situation where you can't do anything.

Idia, Azul, Jamil, JADE

It's not like they don't care for if you're cute or sexy. They just want you, that's all. You can be whatever you want, he's still going to come after you. They're certainly nonchalant about if you fall into either category since all that matter is you. He didn't fall for your looks alone, after all. Don't you know this already? You're his for the taking.

Leona, MALLEUS, Floyd, Ruggie, Riddle, Ace

Has a hard time picking just one. It really depends on the mood he has, but honestly? He loves seeing you as both. It can happen, he can help you out. If you're mostly cute in appearance or mannerisms, he is going to assist you in bringing out that alluring side of you. You just aren't aware of it.

Kalim, Cater, Lilia, VIL

In the case of Trey, he likes you being cute in the sense of needing help. The man enjoys you coming up to him for anything, really. Advice, cooking, venting out your problems, dealing with issues, and the list goes on. It's adorable how you reach out to him, rely on him. He makes sure he's the only one you come to as well.

When it comes to Rook though, he loves your entire being. You can pull off both, he knows. If you can't, then that's alright too! You're still so magnificent no matter how you present yourself. Even during moments where others would perceive as 'ugly', you're still the most beautiful person he's ever seen. Good moments and bad. All facets of your personality. Don't fuss around and say you look bad when you're less than presentable; you still look like an angel to him.

SEE I feel like I could handle rook. rook already has so many fixations that I'd just be a passing interest at best. in one of his suitor suit voice lines he mentions that he feels he's too young (or not ready or something along those lines) to really commit to anyone/thing, which is also reflected in the whole vdc neige vs vil thing. he's passionate, his love is genuine, but he's also a little... unsure of himself? insecure, I might say. I'm not worried about rook, and I can handle being followed for a measly two weeks or whatever. been there done that, rook isn't creepy to me at all (which is, of course, my own opinion!)

lilia is an creaky old fuck with a craving for excitement, a love of getting a rise out of people, arguably, a preference for introverts, and nothing better to do. more importantly, lilia commits. if he wants something, within reason, of course, he'll have it. much like rook, he is an astute judge of character, and is driven by curiosity. unlike rook, lilia is handsy. he's not a "too pretty to take out of the box" kinda guy, he's messy. rook puts people on an unreachable pedestal, but lilia will drag them down to his level if he sees fit

not that he's a bad guy. lilia is sweet. and he's responsible enough to know when too much is too much. he's got a hell of a lot more to lose than rook does, after all (which is, again, the commitment thing)

but he's seen a lot of things, to capture his interest would be... something special to him. and once he sinks his teeth in, he doesn't let go

rook has rules for himself. he has a way of going about things. and he's fickle. he falls in love easily, but that rarely sticks, and, again, he puts so much distance between himself and his fascinations that they become untouchable to him. like characters in a book rather than people in real life

hm. anyway. my actual personal reasoning for being afraid of running into lilia is more so because I scare easily and I get nervous around that sort of personality, because I find it attractive

Jamil being too sexy for puritans to handle was definitely not on my 2k24 bingo card and yet here we are lol Shouldn’t be surprised about it though, the card is insane. Of course, the actual drama was about people acting allegedly inappropriately, but I don’t know what’s so inappropriate about looking at a sexy png with bedroom eyes and feeling like you want to give all of your possessions to that png. Sounds perfectly appropriate to me!

Jokes aside, I am very excited about this round of birthday cards, even though Jamil’s is going to be hard to beat…

Hi, Anon! Welcome aboard! <3

I am ok with a lot of 3 people ships; usually the main rule is that characters in our ships don’t switch (tops stay tops and bottoms stay bottoms), and we tend to gravitate towards two tops/one bottom combinations, although exceptions are possible.

With this particular character combination, while I absolutely love Rook’s delusions and fantasies about having these two specific cakes and eating both of them at the same time, I don’t really like having Leona in any proximity to Vil much… To be fair, I wouldn’t say it’s an absolute no-no: a boy (Rook) can dream, I am just not super crazy about it I guess. I see the vision though 🤔

To be honest, there isn’t any specific scenario that is behind those pics, but I vaguely wanted to make it seem like they just couldn’t argue anymore and started making out lol The tension got too strong, somehow they overstepped that boundary and got way too into it.

deia and evander are both rogues, matthas is a warrior!

31. What specialization does Rook pursue? What called them to it?

deia is an archer (veil jumper i fucking guess 🙄 just minus all the magic and flare lol) and evander is.... idk. a saboteur i guess but only insofar as it relates to dirty fighting. mostly hes a dual wielding daggers guy. evander taught deia everything she knows abt the rogue trade when she was a kid after years of begging to come with her brothers on missions, but INSISTED she never fight in close combat hence why she took up the bow. shes good at being sneaky and staying out of sight, because that was the only reason her brothers agreed to take her anywhere exciting lmao. as for evander. knives are fun, easily concealed, and make him look cool at parties.

for matthas, he really subscribes to the archetype of a protector so a sword and shield fit him naturally. i also think he really looked up to people like cassandra and cullen in skyhold, who likely taught him a great deal of what he knows now.

32. How would a desire demon tempt Rook?

honestly a desire demon IS tempting deia through the entirety of veilguard and his name is solas <3 DFGJKHGJFDK ik solas is pride but. yknow.

really it would look a lot like alistair's dream during the broken circle questline of origins; she wants her family back, whole and happy again. everything she does in veilguard is motivated by the singular wish that she could have that by the end of it.

evander wants his family also, but he dreams of a life of wealth, comfort and complete freedom for them and himself. a world without authority or rules. a world where he's in control of his own destiny and can actually bond with his family instead of feeling like they might only want him around for what he can provide.

matthas would desire being ashara's second in command, back with the inquisition, in power and respected and, most importantly, loved.

i genuinely think at the start of veilguard they would be corrupted so, SO easily by desire. like if u think getting duped 4 times in a row by solas was embarrassing i just know it wouldve been way worse if he was a desire demon lol. but by the end of it....... no i dont think so. by the end of veilguard all they want is to walk out alive, with each other.

33. What do fear demons look like to Rook?

hmmmm GOOD QUESTION. its kind of tricky for deia bc i cant rly say a person/creature/animal like i can for all my other protags. but i know if she was in presence of a fear demon it would absolutely utilize her fear of water. she nearly drowned the day she was saved by the inquisition and has had a fear of deep water ever since.

evander is claustrophic and scared of being restrained, stemming from very early memories of being enslaved. but im not sure if he neccesarily fears slavers, since he's gotten very good at killing them during his time with the shadow dragons lol. so i'll have to think on that one!

matthas..... hm. can i be real i think a part of him is scared of ashara LOL. her disappointment, her ire, the magnitude of what she means to him and how very little he unfortunately means to her. i do think he would maybe see her. but he would also see her as a desire demon! so thats fun! mark him down and scared AND horny!

So, I think my love language are quality time and physical touch. If I have a partner I really want someone I can hug and kiss and all, as for quality time I don’t care what we do, we could be doing two different things as long as we’re in the same room I don’t care.

ROOK i think it's very clear that rooks love language is physical touch and words of affirmation (those r just the main ones tbh he has all of them he just wants to express his love for u as much as possible) he will GLADLY reassure you of his undying love and affection towards you, he hates being away from you and when he is forced to do so you're always on his mind and he'll make sure you know that with the multiple calls and messages he leaves u and even letters 💀. since you love physical affection i hope you're ready because this man WILL hug you kiss you hold your hand at any time he's allowed to, he really doesn't care about what anyone says he's just a guy showing pure adoration towards the one he is an absolute fool over can you blame him???

rook's hobbies are quite dangerous and he knows how much you worry about him so he always make sure to let you know that he's safe, you trust his knowledge and skills but still you cant predict the future so you can't exactly just stop worrying, to make up for the anxiety he gave you he'll always return home with gifts, any treats you like and one day he even both you a giantic ass plushie and he'll sit with you and hold you telling you how much he absolutely adore you, not all of rook's hobbies are dangerous tho, he loves art, all types of art, rook also enjoys writing especially poems so he'll love to read all of your works if you let him (he'll find a way to read them either way unless it's something very very personal you don't feel comfortable sharing with anyone) he's literally your biggest fan, he could talk for hours about how much he loves your writing and if you let him he'll love to sit close to you and watch you writing he's unusually quiet because he's so focused and doesn't want to interrupt him, but in case you'd prefer to hear him talking then he'll gladly chat with you the entire time even give you tips if you ask him to do so. rook would love to read with you he loves to hold you and read to both of you he'll also appreciate it if you'd like to talk about the book after, also be ready for rook to sneak up on you and suddenly start reading a poem he wrote just for you he really enjoys doing that especially if u get spooked easily because he loves seeing you calm down when you realize it's him it warms his heart that you feel safe by his side. rook knows he can be too much sometimes so when you ask for a break to recharge your batteries he won't be sad at all!! he'll just kiss your hand or your cheek and ask you to tell him when you feel comfortable again, as extra as rook can be the only truly overwhelmed you like 4 or 5 times and it was in the start of your relationship (as friends or as lovers) because as you two got closer he understood your boundaries better so he can always notice when you're starting to get overwhelmed and immediately will stop the situation in a way that you will only notice after you're feeling better because he doesn't want you to feel guilty in any way

azul is a calm man and whenever you feel overwhelmed he'll always immediately take you to his office which is a very calming and quiet atmosphere, if you'd like to be alone he trusts you enough to leave you there but if you'd like his company then he'll stay there quietly by your side as he does his thing, he's very happy you trust him enough to allow him to see such vulnerable sides of yourself and he wants to make sure he'll protect you, azul can also get overwhelmed due to work and in these moments he'll just quietly ask if you can hug him or let him lay his head in your lap, if you can read to him that'd be great too, soon he'll fall asleep with a smile on his lips and all his stress gone

QUIL. HI. i can't hop onto desktop and give u a response to the last message atm but i am reading chorus of dragons book 1 (ruin of kings? i don't keep the best track of names) and on like. somewhere around chapter 3 or 4 which isn't a lot but it is downright DELIGHTFUL it reminds me of the wondla series by tony diterlizzi in the tone and, in varying amounts, also the setting, this is SO COOL i LOVE NON-EARTH PLANETS. me whenever there are three moons in the sky biting and growling etc. me when THE NARRATORS ARE SHOWN AS REAL PEOPLE!!!!! i had to go back and reread upon realizing that rook/kihrin was one of the people in the very beginning, never let it be said that i pay close attention to anything, but oh man how wonderful. i love the characters they're so lively, and what a fun timeline!!! i'm like WHAT HAPPENED to this guy why is he suddenly enslaved but also a child what's up with his eyes was he Really abandoned on a trash heap why is he wearing not one but Two necklaces worth enough to employ an entire house for several years. Hello. also reminds me of feathers by jorge corona (a graphic novel)!!! it's just got that kind of tone!!!! very art deco in a sense. i love these kinds of books if my phone wasn't actively running out of battery i'd be reading it rn

WAIT REALLY?! You're reading it?! Oh FUCK yeah I'm so so excited. It is so delightful! There's so much going on and a lot of tension and really high stakes but my god Lyons knows how to make it enjoyable.

And the characters are so much so real people! Sometimes characters feel like they're made to suit a story, to fill a need in order to enact the overarching idea the author has instead of as an individual--which is a perfectly valid way to make a character! But oh my god when the characters are individuals before they're characters >>>> if you know what I mean. When they're their own people before they are in service to the plot, even though they are inseparable from it. It just adds this layer of complexity that I love because they feel so much more real--and then the story becomes so much more immersive because every action the characters take is motivated by their genuine human wants and needs and flaws

The timeline in book 1 is SO much fun, even though it can be confusing at times. I can tell you you're going to be asking questions for a while but that is part of the fun of the experience. It's genuinely some of the most fun I've had reading in a long time, so I hope you get some of that, too. Also, I know I've talked it up a lot, but if you decide it's not for you that's totally okay :)

I, unfortunately, haven't heard of either of the stories you compared it to, so I can only take your word for those. But!!! It seems to be a positive comparison, so perhaps I'll look into those--I say, as if I don't have the longest tbr ever in all of human history it feels like

I hope you can read more soon and I would LOVE to hear any and all thoughts you're willing to share. I fucking love this series so so much I'm genuinely so excited to see you reading it <33

I'm so serious, the Adaar and Solas feelings are strong. They haven't seen each other in years. If DA4 ends well he'll want to tell her she was right and she'll want to tell him she's proud of him. You'll pry a powerful trickster + honest loyalty friendship out of my dead hands.

But that's for my sappy imaginings. This is Rook's story. And when I tell you it's SO GOOD to play Cadewyn again. A staunch, serious knight who barely tolerates normal and well controlled magic. Arrogant and prickly but rushes in without thought to save loved ones. They are straight laced but NOT diplomatic and it's great.

Their crush on Harding is toooooo good. They very much bonded over being Just Some Guy, a practical dwarf to whom drama and silly Fade things don't apply... uh-oh! Cade is trYING to support Lace while being very weirded out and trying to convince themself that it's stone sense. Yeah. Good solid dwarf stuff. Nothing about Lace has changed! She's still reliable and stubborn and cute! Be cool, Cade!

Personally I think Neve is about the coolest character ever. Every day I weep that my vibes will never match hers. Being a noir detective in a corrupt blood mage city in THAT outfit?? Girl!! With a deep musical voice and that wry turn of humor, no less. How is she so cool

Bellara is a sunshine. I love u bbgirl, you can ramble at me all day. Cadewyn doesn't know or want to know what she's talking about but it's impossible to dislike or be wary of her.

Lucanis is just a good Italian boy in the mafia. Don't worry about the mafia. It's fine, I'm sure.

I just got Davrin recently. The VA is charming me more than the character so far, but I'm excited to learn more about him.

Gnawing on Dragon Age thoughts. I'm not even very far into DA4. I just want to be. Plus I spent a considerable portion of the day daydreaming about my tragic Adaar+Solas friendship. I haven't even met all the companions yet. I already lost one. What's going to happen. Spoilers for the next episode: Ok but even after watching this I don’t understand. He shot the gun, where did the bullet go? The gunshot is what told the fbi to go in, & he definitely did shoot the gun, but how would it work? Ben conrad had to have been dead on the ground & set up before Scott shot. Once scott fired, he ran & hid in the hidey hole & let the pigs find the body. Where did he shoot?

two-floor apartments are so weird to me. I once stayed in a penthouse mansion in japan four times as big as the floors below, but... it was the entire floor, not double-leveled.

No but listen. When you shoot a gun or loose an arrow, you usually use the hand that correlates to your dominant eye. I’m left-eye dominant (ish) but right-handed, I learned to shoot with my right hand, & I Really Really Suck. Azul is incredibly protective over his little sister, especially since she also was bullied a bit when they were younger

he likes to keep an eye on her whenever possible and employs some of his first years (as well as Ace and Deuce) to keep her safe

Vil absolutely adores and pampers his younger sister, getting her whatever she wants whenever she wants

Idia loves both his younger siblings, but he knows Ortho also adores their sister

so he's ok spoiling and babying his little sister, making sure to organize all her classwork for her

Malleus absolutely adores and spoils his little sister, especially when she comes to NRC

he wants his sister to have her own life and friends, but he also needs her to give him attention

Lilia and Silver are just as protective, seeing her as their own little sister (they also, of course, spoil her!)
